Weight loss Motivation – a little inspiration

I’ll be the first to admit that weight loss or losing weight in general is not the easiest road traveled.  In 1998 I was 125 lbs (that’s when I graduated from high school) and in 2001 I was 160 lbs (that’s when I got married to the love of my life).  While my weight slowly increased over the years, having children definitely added to the weight increase and while I’m working my butt off (literally – lol) to drop the weight, it’s a journey that doesn’t come easy and a goal that is ever changing in my life.  It’s not just a “diet” as they say but a way of living and it’s a constant thing that I know I have to work on.

So let’s talk about my weight issue… I’m a busy lady who runs a full time business, blogs and is a team mom as well as homemaker and wife.  How difficult can it be for me to eat healthy and exercise or stay active?  Well, here’s where the issue lays… I don’t necessarily eat very unhealthy – portions seem to be okay, I don’t snack profusely and I have a green juice every single day.  While I do have my naughty days when it comes to food, it’s quite balance with regards to veggie intake, etc. and we are not scarfing down prime-rib every 3 days.  lol  My issue is more about finding the time to eat and keep my metabolism going.  Starving myself is not my intention but it often is what happens when you live a crazy and hectic lifestyle.  I keep fairly active, chasing after my 3 kids keeps me on my toes, I do daily walks and I also incorporate work outs into my regimen to keep my cardio up.  Again – it’s all about fitting time into my schedule to take time to do for me and that includes eating.  Read a little more on my story about my weight loss here.

weight loss update

I have a little more information and explanation behind the photos above in this post here so you can get caught up if you are not sure what I’m talking about.  But regardless… keep on reading because I got more to talk about. lol

So – while my journey has been long and it continues on I have had some really awesome support along the way and that is why I want to bring you all a little Weight loss Motivation.  This week’s tip…

Surround yourself with those that will love and encourage you – regardless of how long your journey may take.  This may be a long road for you and you may experience a plethora of negativity, but as long as you have someone who believes in you – supports you and encourages you, it makes it much easier to accomplish your goals.

It may seem like something easy to do – it may seem like that is already happening, but I’ll be the first to say that the Beauty Community whether on YouTube or other can be filled with a bunch of Negative Nancys that don’t give a you know what about you.  If that wasn’t bad enough – the World in general is filled with negativity.  Now – don’t get me wrong, I have a strong support system in many of my Blogger buddies and YouTube besties, but I’m talking about those that just seek to destroy.  Earlier on when I first started YouTube, I got pregnant with my twins and let me just say the hurtful comments started and they didn’t stop.  I am so lucky that I have a husband that supports me regardless of my choice so long as I am happy with who I am.  It may seem like this is a small thing in comparison to everything else you should focus on – but it is all about support and encouragement that gets you to where you want to be.

I’ll touch base more on this subject a few times a month with little tips I learned along the way as well as things that help to keep me on track and focused.  I have been promising to make this a weekly thing and I am just working on getting my blogging schedule and life on a system that works.  But I have a ton of green juice recipes (which you can find on my old YT channel) and so much more that I use to keep me on top of my goals.

Lastly, I was interviewed by Fitness Motivation Podcast recently after they found my story through my blog and if you have some time – listen to my interview… I do things very differently than the norm and I’ll be sharing these tips with you soon as well.

You can also listen to my interview by clicking below.

Wishing you lots of love and happiness always!

Resolve Easy Clean Pro Carpet Cleaner Gadget and Foam Refill

Having three little ones with a very active lifestyle keeps me consistently on my toes and I’m ALWAYS cleaning.  One thing that I do not suggest is carpet (especially light colored carpet) in high traffic areas of your home, but we moved in to a place that already had carpet installed so it was something we had to deal with.  Even with a “stain resistant” carpet – the stains did not clean up as easily as it warranted and after years of spills, no matter what we did and how well we cleaned, the high traffic areas in our home were beyond cleaning despair – until now.

Resolve Easy Clean Pro

Upkeep of light colored carpet when you have little ones in the house is not necessarily difficult, but definitely a challenge and I found that my husband and I spent a lot of money on carpet cleaning products in the past that cleaned very small sections without issue but the follow up and keep up of it began to be expensive.  At one point – we even discussed ripping the entire carpet out – but financially it wasn’t feasible.  Recently my husband and I tested the Resolve Easy Clean Pro Kit that came with the Carpet Cleaner Gadget and a Foam Refill.  The set retails at most stores like Walmart & Target for about $20 and in some cases cheaper and the replacement foam can retail for about $15.00 if purchased separately.  I’ll be honest in saying that we really weren’t sure that the cleaner would work and I was not easily a believer.

Check out my video below that outlines putting together the unit and shows you how easy it is to work.  You can also click here to watch directly on YouTube.

Thank you for watching my video.  Please don’t forget to Subscribe, Comment and Like. ~ Thank you!

As you can see from the image below – our carpet really took a beating over the last few years.  With spills from juice, milk, liquid like foods, snacks – you name it, it has definitely graced these floors.  My husband and I have used various cleaning products prior to Resolve and only a few stains were removed, usually not enough to make a difference, especially in our very high traffic areas.  With just one use of the Resolve Easy Clean Pro and Carpet Spray we were able to see a HUGE and very noticeable difference in how our carpet looked.

resolve carpet cleaner before and after

As you seen in the video, assembly of the cleaning gadget was VERY simple and took me just a minute or two to put together.  While there was a slight smell from the foam, it was not as strong as other carpet cleaning products we have used in the past and drying time was faster than we had expected.  The texture and feel of the carpet didn’t change as other products have done before as well – some had left our carpet very hard and crunchy like… it felt uncomfortable on the feet.   So I’m super happy that I didn’t feel like I was walking on porcupines after cleaning.  And, I do love that my carpet did not change in tone or discolor after use and drying.

The instructions were super easy to follow:

  • Assemble the unit
  • Insert the Resolve High Traffic Carpet Cleaner Foam Canister
  • Dispense the foam by pressing the trigger at the top of the Unit
  • Brush the carpet – using the unit and brushing the foam to remove the grime
  • After carpet has dried – vacuum and done

A few tidbits about the product:

  • New ergonomic handle for easy grip and extra comfort
  • No more scrubbing on your hands and knees (woohoo – love this one)
  • Up to 50 sq. feet area coverage per can (I think this is awesome since we are able to cover a large amount before we need to purchase a refill)
  • Made for High Traffic Areas of the Home – stair landings, corridors, entry ways, small area rugs
  • New and Improved – 100% more dirt fighting power

Con – I do have one thing I wish I could be changed and it is the length of the handle.  I’m not very tall – just 5’6″ but I feel like I’m bending over a bit while brushing the carpet so you can certainly understand how my husband feels since he is 6 feet tall.  I wish there was just a few more inches added to the handle to accommodate our height.  It is not necessarily uncomfortable but it could be a little easier to brush with the handle if it could extend just a little more.

Overall – Having not used a unit like this before, I am very impressed with how well it worked for us.  My husband and I have already treated a good 80% of our living room carpet and I feel like it surely worked well after just one treatment of each area.   We will continue to use this product until we have put it to so much use that it doesn’t want to work anymore.   It’s affordable and offers you an awesome solution over spending a lot of money on renting or buying heavy duty equipment to clean your carpets.  I’m definitely impressed with ease of use, affordability and availability of the Resolve Easy Clean Pro Carpet Cleaner.

So are you looking for a fairly easy way to clean your carpet?  Will you be looking into the Resolve Easy Clean Pro to take care of your carpet cleaning needs?  If so – I would love to hear your thoughts on it if you end up buying it or if you have tried it already.

Easy Makeup For Busy Moms featuring Coastal Scents Revealed Palette

Is there such thing as easy makeup for busy moms?  Well, of course there is.  I am always running around doing errands, being a soccer mom, cooking dinner and basically running a mommy marathon.  While I do love a simple no makeup face, I do like to bump it up from time to time and add a little makeup to put a little pep in my every day step.  Normally when it comes to quick and easy makeup, I turn to my Urban Decay Naked 1 or Naked 3 palettes since they offer me a quick look with versatility – but I have since added the Coastal Scents Revealed Palette to my Mommy Makeup Routine and I am loving it.

Easy Mommy Makeup

This look is simple and quick to do.  Even if my tutorial seemed a little lengthy – when you eliminate my need to talk and jabber (which I am very good at – lol)… the look can easily be pulled together in minutes and you are out the door and on your way.  My routine may vary a little from those mommies that use foundation – so if you do make sure to add a few extra minutes to your routine to apply accordingly.  If you are not fond of foundation then a BB Cream, CC Cream or Tinted Moisturizer will surely help as well.  My tutorial takes you step by step from beginning to end – so the only thing on my face is my coconut oil – I no longer have Foundation as a part of my routine.

Check out my video tutorial embedded below or click here to watch on YouTube.

Thank you so much for watching my tutorial – don’t forget to Subscribe, Comment & Like if you enjoyed it.

Mommy Makeup using Coastal Scents Revealed Paletted

Decided I would take photos with my Cell phone too so you could see what it looked like.  I posted some of the photos above on Instagram the other day.

There are a few things you can surely eliminate when creating this look.  If you need to get out of the house in a hurry – you can do an easy liner instead of a winged liner and you can also just use regular mascara instead of adding false lashes.  You can also opt to do an all over bronze instead of contouring, highlighting and adding blush.  The options are endless and if you love to have on some makeup before heading out of the door I hope this helps you on those busy days when you got a lot on your plate.

My every day consists of mascara and lip balm – so that is an option too.   Regardless of how you decide to “werk it” just remember that it’s all about feeling comfortable and loving yourself for You!

NYX Butter Lipsticks – Swatches: Fizzies, Cotton Candy, Hubba Bubba, Hunk and Bit of Honey

A few months ago I posted a review with swatches on four of the new NYX Butter Lipsticks in Razzle, Hot Tamale, Big Cherry and Pops.  Since I loved them so much, I decided to pick up a few more and placed an order on NYX’s website for Fizzies, Cotton Candy, Hubba Bubba, Hunk and Bit of Honey.  After using these the last couple of months, I decided I would do some swatches in case anyone was interested in the shades I purchased… especially since when I ordered them, I expected them to be a bit different then how they arrived.  Some of the shades were much lighter and darker than I had expected.

NYX Butter Lipsticks

The butter lipsticks retail for $6.00 on NYX’s website and come in 22 shades.  Just like I stated in my first review, the NYX Butter Lipsticks feel great on the lips and are moisturizing.  But I think some of these shades feel a bit different on the lips and when it comes to coverage, the lighter shades seem to sink into the lines of my lips unlike the original four colors I tried out.

NYX Butter Lipsticks Swatches

In the swatch photo above, you can see that Hubba Bubba has a slight frost to it – since it does have a light amount of shimmer in the lipstick.  Because of this, I was a little disappointed at how my lips looked when I used this shade and I do not use it often.  On the website – Cotton Candy and Hubba Bubba lend for a more wearable shade so I was surprised to see it so Barbie Pink when they arrived.  I do like Fizzies, though it is not a shade I will use often – it does match my skin tone and Hunk and Bit of Honey are also ones I enjoy too.

NYX Butter Lipstick Swatches

Have you tried the NYX Butter lipsticks?  While I do love some of these new ones I received, I think the only favorites out of this bunch would be Hunk and Fizzies.  The others just seem too white for me to wear on its own… but hey, that is what gloss and liner is for.  I’ll still find a way to make it work.  If you want to see swatches on the other Butter lipsticks I reviewed – don’t forget to click here.  If you tried any of these lipsticks and have favorites – please comment below and let me know, I would love to check them out and see if they will match me.

Have a wonderful week!
