I think subscription boxes are definitely something cool, especially this time of year when we can’t quite figure out what to get those on our shopping lists. In years past, I have purchased a few months of gift subscriptions to boxes that were beauty related or skin care related, even food ones – but I have never heard of a candle subscription before. I was pleasantly surprised to be introduced to Vellabox about a month ago when the company reached out and asked if I wanted to give them whirl and let me just say – I’m very impressed with goods I received.
“Curating Your Inner Light!”
Vellabox is a monthly subscription service that offers you the finest candles from the finest American Artisans each month. When you receive your Vellabox your senses will absolutely awaken with scents and beauty of gorgeous gifts inside. Vellabox curates the perfect combination of the highest quality candles and handpicked products that compliment your candle. Each are non-toxic, lead-free and hand-poured from the best companies in our country. Each and every month you get great indulgence and lovely fragrances for you to try.
Each candle comes beautifully wrapped, but I took the photos after opening the box, so I was unable to wrap them as neatly as they arrived. I did however open the box live on camera, which you can watch here to see how they were received.
I love how sweetly they were packaged and the scent of each candle wafted through my room immediately upon opening the box. Each candle was packaged in what seemed to me to be a canvas like wrapping and tied with a little bow with twine.
Vellabox comes in three different box selections for your choosing:
- Lucerna ($10/month) – which includes One 4oz. Candle per month and a surprise gift. Your candle has an approximate burn time of 25 hours. $2.00 shipping
- Ignis ($20/month) – includes One 8oz. candle per month and a surprise gift. Your candle has an approximate burn time of 50 hours. $2.00 shipping
- Vivere ($30/month + free shipping) includes One 8oz candle and One 4oz Candle per month with a surprise gift. Both candles have a burn time of 75 hours total.
For testing, I received the Vivere Box which included two candles and a special gift (which was a scrumptious snack bar). Both candles are so lovely and smell wonderful.
- The Firewood Spice + Smoke Soy Candle from Glint Candles retails for $18.00 (8oz) and the fragrance reminds me of a camp fire with a hint of marshmallows roasting over the fire, but that’s just my opinion. This scent includes: Chopped Firewood, campfire smoke and notes of toasted cinnamon and orange. Top Notes: Cypress, orange, Core: Pine, cinnamon, clove, Base: Smoke, oakmoss, fir, balsam
- The Often Wander Amber Vanilla Candle retails for $18.00 (4 oz.) is an all natural soy wax candle that is hand poured in San Diego. It i ncludes a musky, sweet and intoxicating fragrance that is both masculine and feminine. It’s sensual and smells lovely. Often Wanders candles are made with quality essential and fragrance oils and a cotton wick.
If you are a candle lover that’s looking for different candles to try or on the hunt for a gift for a loved one this holiday season, I definitely suggest checking out Vellabox. Vellabox also offers a little shop on their website to select individual candles for purchase (without the subscription). I definitely suggest checking out Vellabox to see if this is something that you or someone you love would enjoy.
You can check out Vellabox and their subscriptions available as well as their gift subscriptions here: https://www.vellabox.com/

I am aware that I’m a bit late with sharing my Rocksbox from November, but this month literally got away from me and I’m trying to catch up on everything. Today I’m going to be sharing with you my November Rocksbox and the goodies I got inside. I’ll be honest, when I first was contacted by Rocksbox, I didn’t think that it was for me – but after giving it a try I can honestly say that I’m enjoying this subscription.
So what is Rocksbox anyway? It is a subscription service that includes an unlimited jewelry rental from top designer brands including Kendra Scott (one of my favorites, Gorjana and so much more. Each box is personalized for you and curated by a team of stylists. I decided this would be the perfect time to share my November box with you because this would make a great gift for the Holidays. You can wear your jewelry on loan as much as you want and then swap anytime when you are ready to refresh. Simply return your set in the original packaging with the prepaid label, leave your stylist feedback online and your next set will be on it’s way shortly. I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy using jewelry that had been returned and worn, but I was so impressed with not only the packaging for each piece, but the care and instructions included and the quality of each item. The pieces are gorgeous, well maintained and kept and I loved each one I received this month.
Special discounts and member rewards are given towards purchases and you keep and purchase at a discounted rate the pieces you want to keep and return those you don’t. Rocksbox also offers Free prepaid shipping both ways which makes this subscription service a fab choice. The attention to detail in the packaging is wonderful. My box came a tad bit crushed, but it didn’t bother me because everything was well packaged and nothing was damaged upon receipt. There is a wonderful theme through out the packaging – down to the stickers and tissue paper and I was very impressed with what I opened even before I seen the jewelry pieces inside. Let’s dig deeper and see what I got, shall we?
I received three gorgeous gold toned items. I love gold and use it often so I was impressed at how nice each piece was. The first piece I received was the Melinda Maria Cade Pave Ring (Insider’s Price $46). This ring is gorgeous. It is a tad bit too small for me to use like a regular ring on my ring finger but makes a great accent ring or even midi ring for any of my fingers as a great accent. Each little crystal is set in place and this offers a beautiful statement without being too over powering.
The second piece I received was the Kendra Scott Jamie Bracelet in Irridescent Drusy (Insider’s Price $52). If you have been following me a while, you know that I’m a huge fan of Kendra Scott jewelry and own a few pieces from the line. I immediately fell in love with this bracelet because I’m also a huge fan of gemstones and drusy cut stones that I knew this would make a great piece in my collection. This is the item I decided to keep.
The third and last piece I received was the Gorjana Cresent Pendant Necklace (Insider’s Price $56). This piece was probably my least favorite out of the three I received. It is funny though, because I had this necklace added to my wishlist but when I received it I realized that while the style is something I would wear – the length of it was just too long for me to love. My Rocksbox stylist saw that I added this necklace to my wishlist and built the cohesive set I received around it – so it still is a great find and a gorgeous piece but I really would prefer something with a shorter chain. I love it nonetheless, but not enough to keep it. This necklace would make a great piece to pair with a casual outfit like jeans with a top or dressed up for your business suit or a dress.
For just $19 a month you get three pieces to wear on loan and you swap your set anytime you want. If you fall in love with the pieces or a piece – you get a $10 monthly shine spend to apply towards your purchase. There is zero effort and no commitment on your end. Prepaid shipping allows you to simply put the items back in the mailbox and wait for your next set to arrive. It’s simple and easy and while this is my first time experiencing Rocksbox, I am loving it.
Each item I received was wrapped well and each came in their own little pouch to keep them secure and protected. Instructions also came with the box on caring for each piece so that they would last and keep looking great. Each piece you receive, while Costume or Fashion jewelry are well made pieces from awesome designers giving you the opportunity to try new ones each time you get a box. Like I mentioned previously, I think this would make a fabulous gift for anyone who loves jewelry. I am beyond impressed with this subscription box.
“If loving jewelry is a crime, we plead guilty.”

So have you been hearing about Rocksbox lately? Is this something you wouldn’t mind getting as a gift? What about the pieces, do you think I made the right choice in choosing the drusy bracelet to keep?

Looking back at the calendar, I have been with Ipsy for almost 5 years (just under 5) and I have seen Ipsy in all its glory. Having been with them for so long, I figured it was time to move on since I wasn’t quite getting the same experience out of my monthly bags as I once used to. So, today I bring you my March Ipsy Glam Bag Reveal and my reasoning for unsubscribing.
March’s Glam Bag – themed Floral Fantasy was based around gearing us all up for Spring. For just $10 a month, Ipsy sends out a monthly subscription that includes everything from Indie and Drugstore brands to samples of highend cosmetics. This month, my bag included a combination of all and I received two full sized products.
“Wake up your imagination with a crazy beautiful explosion of flowers. Vivid shades and inviting textures collide this March. Let the blooms begin.”
The bag itself is cute, though I would have loved to see more pink in the mix of the bag. I had been seeing images from Ipsy Photoshoots including some of their brand ambassadors and would have loved to receive a bag with similar floral creations. I wished the bag had included bolder floral pattern as those in the backdrops for the photoshoots, but nonetheless, this bag is still cute and I’m sure I’ll get use out of it.
Check out the video below for all the details 😀 Click here to watch directly on YouTube.
Coolway Glow Oil Treatment – a sample size
NYX Butter Lipstick in Hunk – I failed to find this in my video so I didn’t mention it. I have a swatch of this on my blog already – so you can check that out here. This was a full sized product. I have seen others get different shades, though I would have liked to see a color that looked a little bit more pink and on the Spring-like side. I use this lippy for Fall, so I felt it was too dark for a spring look… just my opinion, though it can be used for spring months.
MaryKay at Play Eye Crayon in Teal Me More – This product is full sized and I love the color. It’s a little too creamy and will need to be set with a powder for longevity purposes but I enjoy it.
Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels – I love the brand Skyn Iceland and was introduced to this brand through Ipsy. I haven’t used these eye gels yet, but I’m very excited to try them out and I wish there were more than just 2 pairs in our Ipsy bag. Being a Skyn fan, I’m sure I’ll be getting these in the future.
Laneige BB Cushion SPF 50 – I just recently seen these at my local Target. Ipsy provided four samples, though I probably could only use one since they are all based on my skintone and provided in color range. I haven’t tested this product before, but still found it interesting it made it into my bag considering I had marked foundation, concealers and BB’s, etc. as “Not For Me” at least a handful of times.
Overall I know I’ll get some use out of the products I got in my March Ipsy bag. Since I already have the Hunk lippy I’ll be giving that to someone or putting in a future giveaway. Should I test out the products, I’ll be sure to talk about them here in a future update. Having been with Ipsy for so long, I think my subscription has run its course. The monthly cost is just $10 – a total steal considering you will usually get over $30 worth of products each month. But, after so many years, I think I found that a lot of the products I used to enjoy, I’m no longer wearing and some of the brands and I are not compatible. Should Ipsy change in the future, I will definitely look into signing up again, but for now – I think I am happy that I have unsubscribed… no more samples that I need to find homes for. Shipping for Ipsy took its toll as well. At one time, I received my Ipsy bag on time and over the last year, I was getting it six to eight weeks after it was shipped. While it wasn’t issues from Ipsy – I had noticed that anytime I received a bag with nail polish, perfume or aerosol, it slowed the shipment down as it needed to be sent parcel (by barge). It was a challenge to ensure I was no longer getting these items and sometimes I just didn’t want to deal with it. As mentioned before, I learned about a lot of brands I enjoy because of this subscription service – Skyn Iceland, Healthy Sexy Hair and many others were brands I tried for the first time because of Ipsy – so I’m glad I was a part of it while I was.
So – what subscription services do you have? I find that because I live in Hawaii, shipping is always a challenge and in some cases, many of them do not send boxes to me. But, I’m always interested in checking them out. Leave you favorites below so I can see if they’re a match.
Disclaimer: I purchased the products discussed in this post, however – I do have affiliate links through out.
Ah… I’m pretty impressed that my November Ipsy Glam Bag arrived at a reasonable time this month considering the contents. Check out what I got in my Ipsy Glam Bag and my thoughts on each of the items received.
So this month’s theme was Girl Meets Glitter. With a bag theme as such I kind of expected a lot more glitter products, but honestly, the only true glitter product I got was the makeup bag. I’ll be honest, it is one of my favorite makeup bags from Ipsy in the five years I’ve been subscribed. This month’s bag really surprised me much more than I had expected it to. I had seen sneak peaks of the bag but honestly wasn’t too excited since I seen perfume was included (which usually means Ipsy will send my bag Parcel Post due to hasmat) and my bag can take up to 6 weeks to arrive to me. I also already own a J.Cat Wonder lip Paint in the same color, so I knew that there were a few items I was not looking forward to. However, my bag arrived in pretty good time and I actually do like the items I received, minus the lip paint which will be handed over to my lil sis to take advantage of since I already own one.
Check out my video reveal posted below or click here to watch directly on YouTube.
- SeaRX Beauty Microdermabrasion & Body Scrub – sample size. Full Size retails for $32.00 and this sample size probably would retail for about $8.00
- Be A Bombshell Eye Base in Submissive – Full Size $14.00
- Demeter Roll on Oil in Pixie Dust – $10.00 (0.29 oz Roll on Perfume Oil)
- J.Cat Wonder Lip Paint in Red Potion – $4.99 Full Size
- Tarte Maracuja Oil – sample size. Full size retails for $46.00 and this sample size probably would retail for about $6.50
Overall price of this bag is about $44.00 which is not bad considering that Ipsy costs only $10 a month for the subscription.
- SeaRX Beauty Microdermabrasion & Body Scrub – this product while super cute in its little tube is not something I’ll make use of simply because I have to be careful of microdermabrasion products on my sensitive skin. It’s a white cream like product.
- Be A Bombshell Eye Base in Submissive this product swatched a really pretty golden bronze shade. It’s a gorgeous shade but after blending it out I felt like it had a lot of slip and did not have that set texture like you would get from a color tattoo from Maybelline. It didn’t seem to dry or set in place so I am not sure how it would work as a base or all over shade without creasing.
- Demeter Roll on Oil in Pixie Dust This scent is very interesting. On the site, Demeter states that they do not know what Pixie Dust smells like, but they know it should smell like fruity, sugary and airy. They also used reference to Disney’s version of Peter Pan… as Tink moves she is trailed by small amounts of pixie dust. “Think Happy Thoughts”. As many of you know – I’m a huge fairy lover… and this would remind me of Pixie dust and fairies… an almost light vanilla sugar scent with soft hints of fruit definitely explain it. I really enjoy this and would consider purchasing more.
- J.Cat Wonder Lip Paint in Red Potion Seeing as I already own this shade, it’s obvious I do like it. I have a review coming soon on these lippies (I know I have been promising it for a long while now), but if you are one that loves rich red and burgundy shades especially this time of year… I suggest this. Apply with a doe foot applicator for the best application.
- Tarte Maracuja Oil It’s not secret that I am a lover of oils for skin care… and having only tried a little of this stuff, I really do enjoy it. I’ll have a full review of it once I get more use out of it.
While I know that Ipsy can be a bit up and down each month when it comes to what I get, I’m pretty impressed with this month’s bag. I wish I would have gotten a few different things, but majority of what I got I am sure I can make use of. At the end of the day – I think the Maracuja Oil, Demeter Fragrance and the bag definitely make up for the things I am not too stoked about. Do you have Ipsy? What subscription bags or services are you signed up for? Interested in signing up for Ipsy? Check out my link below.
This is my third Lip Monthly bag I received so far and I am sharing it with you. Lip Monthly is another subscription beauty bag that includes majority of lip goodies that you can enjoy. Here’s what I got in this month’s bag.
I really enjoyed the fact that they included a new bag this month – which they stated on their card included in their bag. It reminds me of a blend between Summer and Halloween for some reason and I think it’s cute. This month I received five products in my bag – I think I would have gotten one more if I reviewed my September bag, but I didn’t get around to doing so.
Starlook’s Lip Scrub – These lip scrubs retail for 5 for $10 so that means that this one lip scrub we received would be $2.00
Noyah Lip Balm – This balm retails for $3.99 and we received the retail size of this product.
J. Cat Nude Lipstick in Honey Crisp – we received the full size lipstick which retails for $2.99
deVine Lip Shimmer – we received the full size pinot noir which retails for $4.95
LA Girl Eyeliner in Brown black – we received the full size which retails for $3.00
Overall retail value of the bag: $16.93
While the products in the bag still outweigh the cost you pay each month, I am in hopes that future bags will have an increase of value in the products received. I’m quite excited to try out some of the products, I’ve been using the deVine Lip Shimmer which has a hint of color but is still pretty sheer on me as well as the Noyah Lip Balm which I am liking. But I think I still expect a little more. Since this bag is in the early stages, I hope to see some improvement in future bags.
Have you tried Lip Monthly? What do you think of this monthly subscription?
It seems like forever since I posted about my Ipsy Glam Bags on my blog or even did a video about it – so I decided I would talk about this month’s bag. I have been an Ipsy subscriber now since December 2011 but it seems like this year I experienced many challenges with shipping and I’m sad to say that I will ride it out till the end of the year and probably cancel. Here are the goodies in my Ipsy Glam Bag October 2014.
Ipsy is a $10 a month subscription and includes a variety of beauty products from skincare, makeup, nail polish and nail care and hair goodies. This months theme: Beauty Candy included a variety of brands, some of which we have received in our bags before and some new.
Ecru New York Acacia Protein BB Cream Beauty Balm for Hair – I received another beauty balm (bb cream) for hair in last months bag and never used it. Honestly, I don’t know that I would be using this product so I’ll be putting it on the side. Full size is 1.0 fl oz and retails for $12.00. The full size product was sent in this month’s bag.
Figs & Rouge Shea Butter Limited Edition Hand cream – we all know I’m a lotion addict and I am looking forward to tossing this in my bag and adding it to my lotion stash. I received a sample size (maybe deluxe sample) tube of the product. Full size product is 20ml / 0.67 fl oz and retails for $6.56. Full size product was sent in this month’s bag.
Jesse’s Girl Mineralized Baked Powder Shadow – this shadow color is really nice and I guess you can never have enough eye shadow. The full sized product was included in this month’s bag and retails for $3.99
Starlook’s Lip Gloss – this nude toned gloss is really nice and not sticky which I enjoy. This would be great for travel because it is really tiny. A Sample sized was received in this month’s box of Guilty Pleasure. This gloss retails for $12.00 full sized – I’m unsure of the amount included in full size or sample.
Skyn Iceland Mini Glazier Cleansing Cloths – I haven’t used these yet but I’m always a bit leery when it comes to makeup remover wipes or cleansing cloths because of my sensitive skin. I’ll be sure to do a mini review if I test them out. These clothes retail for $15.00 for a full sized packet that includes 30 wipes. The sample included in this month’s bag includes 10 cloths and would retail for approximately $5.00.
Total retail value for the products received in the October 2014 Ipsy bag = $30.00. This is an estimated value as there is one or two items that I needed to guess the actual amount due to the sample size. Overall you are getting your money’s worth from the bag, but this bag’s retail value for products included is probably one of the cheapest I have had in the last year.
Overall at $10 a month it’s still a pretty good deal considering the number of products you receive. I haven’t been at all excited for my bags lately because they really haven’t showcased the “wow” factor for me. While I’m sure I’ll get use out of this month’s contents – especially the makeup bag, I wish there were more items that I could utilize this fall. I would have loved to see a bronze or brown shadow in the mix. If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy – it is $10 a month or you can decide to sign up for a full year and get a discount. You can sign up here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/1o41?sid=ipsypoints&cid=general
Have you tried the Ipsy subscription service? What do you think of it? I know I didn’t get into a lot of detail with regard to the bag… but as I use the products (if I use them), I’ll be sure to post about them.
I love monthly subscription boxes and while I’ve had my fair share of them, I think the Popsugar Must Have box is definitely one that you must try out at least once. This awesome subscription delivers a plethora of treats from beauty and skin care to food, fashion and more and for just $39.95 a month, shipping included. I love receiving this box because I know that everything included is full size so I’m definitely getting my money’s worth with just a couple of items. This month there was a range of surprises and treats that I couldn’t wait to dig into. Check out my video embedded below to see the unboxing, or click here to watch it directly on YouTube. Scroll down to see all the delectable treats and fine goods I got in my August box.
The Paddywax Ocean Tide + Sea Salt Mini Jar Candle ($10) smells like a beautiful sea breeze in a jar. Fragrance notes of sea salt and the ocean tide, this soy-wax candle brings the beach directly to you. I love the scent… it is subtle but you still get an awesome fragrance from it. The packaging is awesome and reminds me of sea glass. When I use up the candle, I will be saving the jar for little knick-knacks or to make my own little candle DIY. www.paddywax.com
The thinkThin Brownie Crunch High Protein Bar didn’t last long. After snapping the photo, I ate it in a quick jiffy. This was a special extra in the box this month and I really did enjoy it. It has a nice chocolate taste and is 20g of Protein, 0g of Sugar and great for on the go or after a work out for a quick snack.
Next in the box was the Kendra Scott Elisa Necklace in Black Cat’s Eye ($50). I was very excited to get this necklace because those that know me, know I’m big on natural minerals and stones, crystals and such and this will be a great addition to my growing jewelry collection. It’s set in 14k gold over brass, and I love Gold jewelry and it has a gorgeous black oval stone that is classic and timeless. This is the first and only piece I own from Kendra Scott so I’m very proud to have this in this month’s box. This piece alone pays for the entire box and then some… so the rest of the goodies included are actually extra goodies. www.kendrascott.com
The Goodbyn Purple Meal & Dipper Set ($8.00) Now – this next item is awesome for me and I’m super excited to get it. First off… it’s purple, yes… praise the purple loving Gods… it’s purple. Then it is an awesome way to keep track of meal portions and is a great portable way for me to travel with a meal when I’m on the go. I’m so busy sometimes, I skip out on a meal because I just don’t have the time, but this will really give me the option to pack something to eat ahead of time and be on my way. www.goodbyn.com
The Mason Jar Cookie Company Celebrate! Cookie Mix ($12) Being a mommy of boys, goodies are essential and I’m always looking to add new treats to our foodie line-up. We haven’t had the chance to bake these up yet, but know that I will post all about it once I do. This treat is festive and ready to go – just add butter and an egg and bake it up for a delectable treat. www.masonjarprovisions.com
Lollia At Last Perfumed Shower Gel ($22). I was pretty excited to see this in my box, because I have heard of the brand but have never tried the products before. It smells really nice, but sadly – my box was a complete mess when it arrived due to the fact that this shower gel leaked everywhere. It seems like the cap was not tight on the bottle and even after cleaning it up and tightening the cap, it continues to leak. This shower gel is infused with shea butter and jojoba oil so I’m excited to give it a whirl with what I have left in the bottle.
Ooh La La – the Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip in Popsugar was a surprise to me but I was so excited to get it. ($22.00). I’m a huge fan of the brand and this will be the first lip gloss that I have been able to try. To celebrate Popsugar’s Must Have’s second birthday, Bite Beauty created this new shade for the occasion and it’s so sweet. Strawberry, Coconut and avocado oils leave my lips yummy and pink. www.sephora.com/bite-beauty
The shade of Popsugar is a tad sheer, but it’s a gorgeous shade nonetheless and I love how it feels on the lips. A little sticky but not so much that it’s irritating to use. Definitely a gorgeous color.
Overall – I’m quite impressed with this month’s Popsugar box. Overall I received a total of $124+ worth of products and all of them in full size. Each month the Must Have box is $39.95 and includes full size goodies for you to test out. I love the goodies Popsugar sends out because this particular box is much more lifestyle based, then beauty – so you get a variety of goodies that you can use on yourself or with your family in mind. Have you tried the Popsugar Must Have box? If not – is this something you may be interested in? If you have, what are your thoughts? Popsugar is a great way to try out some new things, click here to learn more about it.
Due to where I live – I apologize that it took me a while to get my unboxing up and live. But I do have a discount code for anyone interested:
DISCLAIMER: POPSUGAR provided me with a complimentary POPSUGAR Must Have box. The opinions I have shared about the box are my own and POPSUGAR did not tell me what to say or how to say it.
I am an OG Monthly Subscription box/bag person… having been one of the first subscribers to Birchbox, Ipsy (then My Glam) and even one of the first for Glossy Box in the US, so I’m always stoked and excited to try out new Monthly Subscription services, especially if they are beauty related and offer Full Size goodies. This month I had the opportunity to get a new Monthly Box in my mail and I was definitely excited since we all know I’m a lip product junkie.
Lip Monthly is a $10 a month beauty subscription. You can select to have your Lip Monthly membership be monthly, every 4 months or yearly. You will receive approximately 3-4 Full Sized Lip Products or Beauty Products and 1-2 Sample Sized products. This box includes primarily lip products, but they are looking to include at least one bonus item that may not be a lip product in future bags. Keep in mind, this subscription is just a couple of months old and still working out all the processes so at their early stage, we can expect a couple of small hiccups.
This month’s theme is Lips 101 – focused on getting ready to go back to school and enjoying the lovely summer weather. There were a total of five products in the August Lip Monthly Bag… however, I did receive an extra product as an additional Press Sample to show you other products that you can get in your bag. Check out my Open Box Video embedded below (and the excitement as I see each product) or click here to watch directly on YouTube.
Every month LipMonthly’s experts travel across the country to find the best products in retail stores, so you don’t have to. We will bring you the best deals on the market, in our beautifully designed packaged boxes. All that’s left for you to do is try them on!
The next item I received was the City Color Glossy Kiss Lip Gloss. I could not find the name of the product or the actual product or cost on City Color Cosmetics website. This was a bonus item sent to me, so not everyone who got a Lip Monthly bag would have received this. The lip gloss is really nice, has a nice color to it and I love that it smells like Jolly Ranchers. I’m not sure if this product is new to City Color Cosmetics or not yet released or a discontinued item. But, I’ll be sure to update once I know more.
The next goodie I got in my bag is the City Color Cosmetics Lip Balm in Ultra Pink. This lip balm retails on the site for 2.99 and is a moisturizing lip balm with a lipstick-like texture. It also has a lot of pigment and offers a bold color on the lips.
The City Color Magic Balm was an interesting find in this August bag. It retails for $3.99 and is not available on CCC website just yet. I have been told this is a new product not yet released. It is a moisturizing balm and at first I thought that it just offered a sheer wash of color on the lips but after using it on my lips and waiting a minute, I looked at my lips to find that the color pigment actually increased and became a deeper shade. I guess that is where they got the “magic” part from.
I also got a Jesse’s Girl product in my bag this month. This Jesse’s Girl Lip Gloss Lip Lock retails for $4.99 and is a sheer pink with light shimmer. It’s a gorgeous gloss but a little on the sticky side (definitely not a fan of sticky), but overall – it’s a fun shade that I can definitely make use of or pass on to my sissy for her fun. This lip gloss is in the shade Lickity Split.
Last but not least is the Monthly Mix Up item. It is a Pixi by Petra Lid Last Shadow Pen in Gentle Gold and retails for $18.00. The shade is one I know I’ll get some use out of I love the high price point.
Overall, I think this bag is pretty cool – so much so I actually subscribed and signed up. I love that it offers you a collection of lip goodies, which is great. This will make it much more favorable for me knowing that there shouldn’t be much of an issue with shipping as other Monthly Subscriptions have had in the past due to items that include Hasmat items that cannot be shipped air to me in Hawaii. I have heard from a few people that they had issues with Lip Monthly the first few months, but as I mentioned in the beginning, like any subscription service, you can expect to be a few kinks as they work everything out to be much smoothly. When I first started with Ipsy (then My Glam), shipping and products were an issue back then and it took some time to really get things running smoothly.
I love that Lip Monthly has a little card that lists the products in the bag as well as the price point so you know the value of your bag. I also like that they sent a little cosmetic bag as a part of this month’s bag… because I have seen that others have gotten little boxes to hold their products in previous months. While it does remind me of Ipsy a bit, I do like the personal touch and appreciate it. Since you can cancel this box at any time, I think it would be worth it to try it out at least a month or two and see if this is something you’d be interested in.
Yay me! I swear, I am always amazed with the perks that come with being a Blogger, but more so when I get to try out new and exciting things and realize how lucky I truly am. I had the awesome opportunity to receive the April POPSUGAR Must-have Box and it was filled with goodies different from my normal that I’m used to receiving from other Subscription boxes. Check out what I got and all the goodies inside.

Included in April’s box was a total of 6 items – I have them outlined for you as well as the price break down for your reference.
THE BLUE AVOCADO (ECO) SHOPPER – retails for $25.00
This awesome little shopper was a joint effort between Lauren Conrad and BlueAvocado. It is a collapsible tote (perfect for carrying groceries) and is made from upcycled plastic bottles. It folds neatly into a wallet-sized pouch and fits perfectly into my purse. This is awesome! In Hawaii – on my island, stores no longer offer you plastic bags and many require you have your own shopping bag for groceries so I will make great use out of this.
TOO FACED NATURAL EYES PALETTE – retails for $36.00
I was beyond excited to hear that this product was in other people’s boxes and certainly could not wait to get my hands on it. I have been eyeing this palette for a while and being a huge Too Faced addict, I was jumping for joy inside. This palette is perfect for the gal who loves a natural look. It includes nine different shades and the color range is perfect for every age and every skin tone. Included is a glamour guide (like most Too Faced palettes) that you can use to create looks or be inspired and the shades included are a combination of matte, satin and shimmer. I’m seriously diggin’ this!
GRAPHIC IMAGE POCKET NOTES – retails for $20.00
This awesome little notebook is sweet, stylish and a great size to throw into the purse. Made with silver edges, acid-free paper and a flexible cover with the words “Run the World” on the cover – I am surely inspired to keep blog posts and more in this notebook that fits perfectly in the pocket or in my purse for on the go inspiration.
CALDREA ROSE WATER DRIFTWOOD HAND SOAP – retails for $10.50
Who doesn’t need hand soap? As a mom of three boys, we have hand soap everywhere in the house and I’m always on the hunt for new scents that I love. This hand soap has a combination of floral aromas that have a light but great scent. The soap is gentle but hardworking and free of any harmful chemicals.
FRESH PASTRY STAND TOTALLY AWESOME TEA TOWEL SET – retails for $18.00
Seriously… how “Awesome” is it to display something that says “totally awesome” in your kitchen. Since nothing but awesome grinds come from my kitchen (yes, I’m bragging – lol), I was very excited to get something like this. The Awesome tea towel set is such a fresh take on a cute design and I love the bright and bold colors that is so fun for Spring and Summer. They are handmade from a water-based ink and completely lint-free (woohoo!). I am looking forward to having fun with these.

Hello goodies and snacks! Let me first say that I am in love with how awesome these taste but I won’t go into any details since I’ll be doing a full post on my blog all about these goodies in the future. NatureBox teamed up with Lisa Sugar to design this custom snack mix especially for POPSUGAR Must Have. NO artificial flavors, NO artificial colors, NO corn syrup and NO hydrogenated oils. They include a bunch of my favorite snack treats like almonds, soybeans, corn and cranberries – a satisfying crunch for any die hard snacker. I am seriously addicted to these.
