Today I’m excited to finally bring you my thoughts on a few skin care products from ZenMed.  I have had these products in my possession now for about 2 months (or more) and I am happy to say that I can finally discuss my results with all of you.

As many of you know, I have started to really live my life differently.  Daily workouts and exercise and cutting out things like rice and soda from my diet (eating healthier in general) have been a part of my norm the last two months.  Because of this, trying out new skin care has been a huge challenge.  As your body starts to really purge the junk stuff from your system, sometimes your skin can get really good quickly or completely freak out.  For me, it freaked out and really went bonkers with some of my skin care products.  So, it took longer to try out products that I would normally be able to experience results with within a month or so.  That’s why it took me so long to get this post up – I wanted to make sure it was not the product that caused my eczema flare up.

With that being said – let’s talk about ZenMed.  ZenMed offers a plethora of products that they call:  Reconstructive Skincare.  It’s basically a product line that offers support to your skin.  They claim that you can get healthier skin when following their pH balanced cleansing and moisturizing regime.  I had the opportunity to try four different products from the line and I’m going to share my thoughts on each of them with you.

The Gentle Cleansing Cream is a light cleansing cream that feels really nice on the skin when applying.  You apply this product to your wet face using circular motions.  Once done, rinse it off with warm water and pat your skin dry.  This cleanser is gentle enough to be used on your skin twice a day – though I only use it once a day at night.  This cleanser removes impurities from your skin and leaves your face feeling refreshed.  No irritations or over-drying which is great for my sensitive skin.  This product is vegetarian formulated so that it leaves your skin clean without stripping it of your vital oils.  The formulation is pH balanced and preserves your natural pH so your skin is left feeling soothed and nourished.  ZenMed states that this is a product that is ideal for Rosacea sufferers.  I love how soft my skin feels but it is left hydrated and clean when I’m done cleansing with this product.

ZenMed’s Anti-Redness Mask is next on the list.  This is a pretty cool product because ZenMed says that this is ideal for minimizing the after-effects of a sunburn since it contains Certified Organic Aloe Vera Gel.  The Anti-Redness mask has a very effective anti-inflammatory agent included called Willow Bark Extract.  The ingredient has long been know to provide anti-irritant and anti-redness effects to sensitive skin.  It’s soothing and non-comedogenic using Green Tea and Cucumber to offer a quick solution for getting redness out of the skin and fast.  This product can even be used on sensitive areas like eyelids to help calm the skin.

I have been enjoying all of the products I’ve tried, but the Anti-Redness Mask still intrigues me.  When you use it, your skin feels immediately cooled and calm.  I find that this is one of my favorites for soothing my dry skin from the colder months.  I noticed that the redness around my nose and on my cheeks are not there as much as they normally would be.

Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 30 – Well, I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like this product once I squeezed it out of the tube.  Here’s the deal, when something says “lightweight and sheer formula”, I kind of expect it to be as such.  But squeezing it out of the tube, it seemed to be a bit thick.  But, I was relieved when it smoothed onto my skin quickly and felt like it was lightweight on.  Looks can be deceiving (that’s for sure).  This product is lightweight and sheer on the face.  It’s oil-free with an SPF of 30 which is awesome, but it does leave your skin looking a bit dewy.  But, that didn’t bother me one bit, since I really liked that it was gentle on my skin and super easy to apply.  This cream absorbs quickly which I love so it’s also recommended for use under concealers or foundations (which I don’t really use).  I love that I can use it on its own.  I LOVE that it has sunscreen in it so it’s great for days like today when I need to run out of the house.

Like other products I’ve tried from ZenMed, this moisturizer has Green Tea and Certified Organic Aloe Vera which helps to calm the skin and moisturize.

The Organic Cream Exfoliator is free of parabens, abrasive particles, soap, oil and animal testing.  This product was formulated and created to help oxygenate and revive the most sensitive skin types.  This exfoliator utilizes rounded jojoba microspheres that work to help scrub and get rid of the surface of dead skin cell build-up while allowing for maximum penetration of your skin serums and moisturizers.  It helps to visibly smooth and refine your skin’s texture.

I am very picky about the type of exfoliators I use and I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this one.  The product is very creamy based but as you work it onto the skin, the jojoba microspheres massage and exfoliate the skin.  This product can be used daily, though I only use it on my face once a week because while it’s gentle, I think it’s too much for me to use more than that.  After the first use, I noticed my skin was definitely softer and smoother and I noticed a big difference in the texture of my skin after using it the last month.

Overall, I continue to use the  ZenMed products I was sent to try as a part of my skincare regimen.  I use it in combination with other products from other brands that I love and enjoy.  The Skin Support products for Dry Skin have been a great addition to my skincare routine and while they aren’t particularly drugstore priced, they are reasonable in cost and fairly affordable in comparison to other products I’ve tried before.

I’m not quite sure yet if I will be continuing the use of these products once I run out of my current stash, but I definitely have some favorites.  The Anti-Redness Mask and Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 30 have been some of my go-tos lately, so I may continue using them.  I also hope to purchase the Support Serum and Nutrient Boost Spray to try out for myself, so if I do – I’ll be sure to share my thoughts with all of you.

Have you heard of ZenMed before?  If so, comment below and tell me what you think.  If not, are there any products I’ve tried that you may be interested in?

Happy Aloha Friday!

Somehow or other, I have heard of ZenMed. Coincidentally, I am just starting to try a similar skincare line that ends in “Med” that’s also pH balanced. The ZenMed oil-free moisturizer with SPF 30 sounds very appealing to me, too.

  2. I’m not familiar with the brand but it sounds like they have a few nice products. What did you notice about the scent of these?

    • very minimal scent… even the moisturizer with sunscreen was very light so I was impressed. No heavy perfume fragrances that I could tell.

  3. I’ve heard of this brand before. I break out with chemical sunscreens so this won’t be a no-go for me. In other news, I’m excited to hear about your health goals this year

When I cut out soda last year, my skin freaked out too!
I would love to try the aloe product!

  6. I have to check out ZenMed and see what options they have for acne. Sounds like a nice, solid set of products – thanks for introducing us to yet another very good brand.

  7. It can be such a challenge testing new skincare. A while ago I tried something new and the first couple of weeks I thought my skin was just getting used to it, but when it continued to look awful I stopped using it and my skin was instantly better!
Also – I’ve never thought of rice as being healthy! Although I do stick with brown 🙂

      • I agree – skincare is such a huge challenge. I think Rice is not necessarily unhealthy for all… but it’s filled with a lot of carbs and here in Hawaii it is eaten with practically every single meal. I struggle with the carbs because I have PCOS and struggle with weight already, but I also have an issue with my esophagus with causes me issues with choking when I eat rice sometimes, so eliminating it from my diet in general for me is best, or just a little when I do have some 🙂

The moisturizer sounds great and like one I should try! The exfoliator is also my style with the jojoba microbeads so I’ll have to pick that one up as well.

  9. Green tea is one of my favorite skincare ingredients, it always feels so soothing and calms redness and irritations.
