#CURLYHAIRDONTCARE – NUME 5 Year Anniversary | 25 MM Classic Wand

PRESS SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS

Let’s face it, not everyone is blessed with curly hair.  I’m really lucky in that I have coiled curls that grace my long luscious locks, but those that don’t have curls need to improvise some.  Since my natural curls are coiled and there are days that I may want softer, larger barrel size curls, I turn to one of my favorite hair tool brands.  I have a pretty nice collection of Nume goodies from the Lustrum Set, Classic Reverse Wand and the 25mm Classic Wand so it’s a hair tool line that I truly do enjoy.  As I say, when you don’t have them yourself – improvise and Nume has the tools to help with that.  Nume celebrates their 5 year anniversary (Happy Birthday Nume!) and with that I want to share with you one of my favorite hair tools and some fun discounts you can utilize to get in on some of this hair tool goodness for yourself.

If you are looking to change up your style some, I definitely suggest the classic wand.  I have the 25mm which is a common barrel size and perfect for someone who is a beginner hair tool user or advanced.  The Classic Wand has a 100% Tourmaline-infused ceramic coated barrel and utilizes an innovative clipless design for crease-free curls.  Since I naturally have dry hair – it’s great to use a wand instead of a curling iron because the clip can cause creases and with dry hair, it literally can ruin all that work… so I prefer a wand vs. a curling iron.  The curling wand has negative ion technology and heats up to 410°F.  What I love the most is that with your purchase/order you also get a heat-resistant glove that helps with the curling process.  I put emphasis on “heat resistant” because you can still burn your fingers, so use extreme caution still.

Since I have natural curls that tend to be really coiled and tight, I like to brush my hair out with my fingers to soften my natural curls.  Using a Flat Iron can help straighten your natural curls prior to adding them back in with the curling wand.  Since the Classic Wand has that tourmaline-infused ceramic coated barrel, when using it on your hair you are locking in shine and your curls will last longer.  This type of curling wand is perfect for those beachy waves we all love to rock during the summer months or voluminous glam waves for that night out with the girls or a date.  This wand is perfect for use on medium or long hair and since it heats up quickly, it makes the process of creating your perfect waves easy as pie.

To create the soft beachy waves I am sporting today – I finger combed my natural curls so that they were not so tight and then grabbed 1 inch sections of my hair.  Starting at various lengths of my hair (some near the root, some near the bottom and the middle of my locks) I added the curl using the Nume 25mm Classic Wand.  Once I completed my whole head of hair, I finger combed through my hair once again to pull out the curls so they were not so tight.  Since I added the curls to different sections and lengths of my hair, it gave me much needed volume and created a fuller textured look.  To set the curls, I added a shine spray and scrunched my hair with some Argan Oil.  Since I have thin hair but my hair is long… I need to create more volume and add to the bulk of my hair so I also spray with a light leave-in conditioner and I’m good to go.  If you want more curls then texture, you can always skip running your fingers through your hair and leave the curls intact and set with a setting or hair spray.  Make sure prior to adding any heat to your hair that you use a heat protectant so that you are protecting your locks from damage.

Creating beautiful locks with curls for days is as easy as moving your arms above your head.  It can take a little practice sometimes, but once you find a routine you enjoy – you will find that it is easier than you thought.  Since my hair is just about past my butt, it can take me a while to get through my whole head of hair, but it’s all worth it in the end.

New L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Collection – Review

PRESS SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS

When it comes to hair care – I try a lot of different products.  I have hair that tends to be a bit finicky and definitely needs extra care.  While I do have my favorites, I’m always interested in trying out new things and I especially love a good hair product that includes some of my favorite ingredients like Argan and Coconut oils.  With curls for days and long tresses, I do what I can to keep my crazy hair at bay.  Recently I was sent some goodies for my hair – the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Collection and today I’m going to share my thoughts with all of you.

The L’Oreal Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Collection includes products that are perfect for dry hair – which just happens to be the type of hair I have.  Since my hair is so long and because I live in a tropical climate, my locks tend to be drier than I would like – which means I need to compensate with hair products that will add extra moisture.  The Extraordinary Oil line not only helps to rehydrate and restore my hair, but some of the products like the Extraordinary Oil Curls Re-nourish mask also help with my curly hair.  I received 4 out of the 7 different products I seen on their website and I’ll break it down for you and share my thoughts on each I had the opportunity to try.

L'Oreal Paris, L'Oreal, extraordinary oil nourishing shampoo, extraordinary oil, hair care, hair, haircare, hair products, shampoo, conditioner, mask, hair mask, L'Oreal hair, curly hair,

First, you have the L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo ($4.99 / 25.4 fl.oz. – 750mL).  This shampoo is perfect for daily care to help dry and lifeless hair.  It’s a lightweight shampoo that is non-greasy and when applied to the hair – it left my hair feeling really clean, but not dry.  I don’t have very many lathering products since I try to use sulfate-free hair care, so I really worried that this shampoo would leave my hair stripped of its natural oils.  It actually did really well with my hair and I literally noticed after the first wash that my hair was pretty shiny and soft.

The advanced formula of the Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo includes an oil complex that has oils + botanical extracts in oil to rapidly propel hydration to the fiber and seal the cuticle.  With the Arginine-K Complex, this system penetrates the hair fiber from the root, to the core, to the tip for healthier feeling and looking hair.  Once you use this product, your hair is just about instantly transformed to silkier, softer – more lustrous hair.  I was not only amazed, but very impressed.  I only wash my hair about one to two times a week so I worried that this product would leave my curls dry and my hair (and my scalp) seemed to like the product overall.  Oh – did I mention it has a soft fragrance?  I actually really enjoy the scent, it’s light – but smells really good… almost floral, though I do not think that is it.  I believe it is a mix of the argan and coconut oil, but I haven’t been able to pinpoint it yet.  I like that the fragrance is light because it doesn’t affect my allergies.

The L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Conditioner ($4.99 / 25.4 fl.oz. – 750mL) can be used for daily care to help with dry, lifeless hair.  It’s lightweight and non-greasy just like the shampoo and includes the same oil complex as well.  After just one wash, I noticed my hair definitely softer and smoother.  I love the thickness of this conditioner.  It is not too thick, but thick enough to coat my hair nicely but still offering a good amount of slip.  This conditioner really is the perfect one for detangling my hair while in the shower, which I like to do.

Just like the shampoo – the conditioner claims to help rejuvenate the hair with weightless nutrition.  The Extraordinary Oil system instantly transforms dry, lifeless strands into silkier, softer, more lustrous hair.  With the Advanced Formula Oil Complex of oils and botanical extracts in the oil – this conditioner helps to rapidly propel hydration to the fiber and seals the cuticle.  It also includes the Arginine K complex to help penetrate hair fiber from root, to core, to tip for healthier hair.  After the first use of using this product, I was amazed at how much I enjoy it.  It did well in moisturizing and hydrating my hair and left my hair very very soft.

I’m all about a great mask, especially one that is formulated to help my curls so I was intrigued and excited to try this one from L’Oreal.  The L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Curls Re-Nourish Mask ($6.99 / 8.5 fl.oz. – 250 mL) is formulated to rehydrate, restore and reinfuse bounce into naturally curly hair.  It’s a rinse-out treatment best suited for very dry and curly hair.  This mask instantly penetrates the hair to quench and calm even very dry, curly hair with hydration and nutrition.  The Re-Nourish mask is made with the Extraordinary Oil system to help defrizz the hair, and infuse curls with bounce.

L'Oreal Paris, L'Oreal, extraordinary oil nourishing shampoo, extraordinary oil, hair care, hair, haircare, hair products, shampoo, conditioner, mask, hair mask, L'Oreal hair, curly hair,

The mask itself has a very light scent to it – like the other products in this line and is quite thick, though still manageable.  It includes the Advanced Treatment Oil Complex (AMLA Extract) system with oils + botanical extracts in oil to penetrate the fiber to instantly replenish curls with nourishment and elasticity.  After one use I noticed my hair was shinier, rehydrated and soft but also – my curls had a lot of bounce.

When it comes to masks, I can use a lot of it (just like conditioners) because my hair is nearly past my rear.  I found that this product was thick enough to coat my strands, but also thin enough to be worked into my hair without using a lot of product as I normally would.  It’s easy to use – simply apply this mask to your wet hair after shampooing.  Massage through to the ends of your hair and leave in for 3-5 minutes before rinsing.  This product has to be rinsed out.  It is too thick and has too much oils in it to leave over night in my opinion… I tried it the first time I used it just to see and it left my scalp feeling kind of oily.  I did like it when used as directed and at the price point, I think I may continue to purchase this product to keep on hand.  It really helped to soften my dry ends leaving them looking healthy and smooth.

Lastly, the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum ($6.99 / 3.4 fl.oz. – 100mL), is quite a great little product.  As many of you know if you’ve been here reading my posts for a while, I really am a huge oil fan and use coconut and argan oil (to name a few) in my hair consistently and usually daily.  I was so happy to try a hair serum with the oil complex the same as in the other products from this line that I have tried.  This product claims to instantly add shine and a silky-touch to your hair and is lightweight and non-greasy.  It’s a leave-in treatment that is perfect for dry and lifeless hair.

The Extraordinary Oil system instantly absorbs, transforming dry hair strand by strand for weightless silky shine.  It includes the same system of oils + botanical extracts in oil to help rapidly propel hydration to the fiber and seals the cuticle.  With oils like Chamomile, Coconut, Sunflower, Soja, Gardenia and Rose – this oil serum helps to add instant shine and a gorgeous, soft and silky touch.  I apply this product as directed, after using the shampoo and conditioner I apply the serum throughout the lengths of my hair concentrating it on the ends.  I love that this product can be used before a shampoo to help nourish and protect the hair and before styling to help control and discipline hair.  But, most importantly for me it also works well as a finishing touch to any style or hair look for exquisite softness and lustrous shine.

L'Oreal Paris, L'Oreal, extraordinary oil nourishing shampoo, extraordinary oil, hair care, hair, haircare, hair products, shampoo, conditioner, mask, hair mask, L'Oreal hair, curly hair,

The L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil line has been such a great asset in my hair care needs.  I have used products from the L’Oreal Feria line (for hair coloring) and that is basically it – so I was not only impressed by my first use of the hair products from this line, but also with the quality considering the price point.  Each of the products offered a light scent – almost floral, that made use quite pleasing and didn’t leave me nauseous as other hair products can do and I liked that it worked so well with my curly hair.  Since I tend to have drier hair than usual, I love a product line that really replenishes my hair and keeps it looking great for longer periods of time, especially since I usually only wash 1-2 times a week.  Since these products have oils that help to seal the cuticle and hydrate your natural hair fibers, I think they would make great products for those who color their hair consistently.  I noticed that after using these products, my red didn’t fade as quickly and I didn’t have as much bleeding of color in my shower after a wash.  These products have helped to keep my hair color lasting longer as well as keeping my hair looking great.  Since all four products are infused with vitamins and antioxidants, my hair feels so soft and shiny and has felt this way after just one use.

Overall, I’m really liking them – loving the price, and after a month of using these, I look forward to repurchasing some of my favorites.

You can purchase these products and more at: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/ as well as your local drugstore, Target, Walmart or other stores where L’Oreal is sold.

Have you tried any of these products from L’Oreal Paris before?  If so – what are your thoughts?  If you are more of a makeup lover, then hair… be sure to check out my thoughts and review on the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation, which includes my thoughts as well as swatches.

Have a wonderful day! Smooches!

Stronger, Healthier, Longer Hair For The New Year – Hair Care With Moroccanoil

Dippity-Do Girls With Curls – Curly Hair Product Line

PRESS SAMPLE / AFFILIATE LINKS

Let’s face it – when it comes to curls I’m always looking for the products that work well for me and my full head of hair.  It’s not an easy task and I have tried more than my fair share of products – enough to last a lifetime.  Dippity-Do Girls With Curls products are a throwback to the days of carefree curls.  I have heard of Dippity-Do products before, but have never seen or heard of their Girls With Curls line so I was excited to give it a go and see how it would work for me.  After using these products for some time now, I’m finally comfortable to share my thoughts with you about how they worked for me.

Dippity-Do Girls With Curls - Curly Hair Product Line

After years of flat-ironing my hair, I have lost a lot of curl definition and I’m constantly working on redeveloping my curl pattern.  Because of this, I’m always on the hunt for a product or products that will not only help to define my curls, but also give them added moisture, shine and help to combat frizz.  I have used many products in the World to help with this and many are quite costly, so I was very intrigued to find out that the Dippity-Do Girls with Curls line was so darn affordable.  I was given the opportunity to test out the entire line and today I’m going to discuss each product in detail and how it worked for me.

Curl Shampoo – I was beyond impressed with this shampoo.  I have been using Sulfate Free shampoos for a while now and many of them do not offer the lather I miss with shampoos that have it.  This shampoo lathered up great and left my hair feeling clean.  What I enjoyed the most was that my hair didn’t feel dry or without moisture as other shampoos have done in the past.  It left my hair feeling great and I LOVE that it has coconut oil in it which is something I use in my hair consistently already.

Curl Conditioner – This conditioner was not as thick as I had expected, which is a little different than what I am used to.  I like my conditioners to have more slip to them because I tend to finger comb and detangle my hair while I have conditioner in and this was not as easy to detangle my hair with.  While it did the job, I feel like I could use something with a little more oomph… but overall – it does the job and I do like it.  You can’t beat the price point and it didn’t leave my hair feeling dry.  Each strand still felt moisturized, looked shiny after dry and my curls were soft and manageable.

Deep Treatment – When it comes to a deep treatment, I expect something that will really go above and beyond the conditioner from the same line but I felt like this one is more of a daily conditioner for me.  In order for my curls to be moisturized well without soaking it all up – I need something with a little more and felt like this was nice to use, nourished my hair – but left my hair wanting more.  I have finicky hair so I would chuck it up as my hair being difficult – but I would love to see something that is much thicker and richer to be a deep treatment.  Again, you can’t beat the price point, so I definitely think it did the job for the most part – my hair just wants more and after a few uses, I used the entire bottle because my hair drinks that stuff up.  Even as a long period mask – I felt that it still didn’t offer my hair as much quench as I would have liked.  Considering the price point though – again, still great in a pinch.

Curl Defining Cream – This particular product didn’t necessarily define my curls when used on it’s own after washing my hair, but I felt like my hair needed this product when used in combination with the Gelee to help my curls.  I love to run my fingers through my hair so if you know anything about me, I don’t use gel or mousse or products that hold my hair in place for this reason.  Because of this, I really loved the Curl Defining Cream.  It made my hair feel ultra soft and smooth and when used before the Gelee, my hair was still soft and smooth – without feeling crunchy, sticky or rough like it can be.  I was able to run my fingers through my hair with the Gelee, which would normally be difficult.  Again, it didn’t quite define my curls – but does work to make them touch-ably soft.

Gelee – Ah, this product is one of my favorites out of the whole line.  It left my curls defined with nice hold but still bouncy and move-able.  If I used it on its own (without the Curl Defining Cream) I did notice my hair would frizz up a little faster than normal and would feel a little dry.  But, used in combination with the Curl Defining Cream, my curls were very pretty, bouncy, soft to the touch and defined nicely.  This will definitely be my go-to moving forward because I love that my hair or neck and scalp do not feel sticky with use and I haven’t broken out at all while using this product.  I also love that this product gives my hair a little extra volume.  I take a little of the product and scrunch through my roots for a fuller hair look – I love it!

Curl Booster Spray – I specifically used this product on second day hair most of the time, though I thought it worked okay to finish up my hair style after applying the Gelee.  Just a little spritz on the ends of my hair helped to lock in the moisture which I tend to lose the quickest in that area.  I didn’t really use this product to boost my curls unless I was on my second or third day without washing – I would spritz at the root of my hair for a little added lift (since that is the part that tends the mash the quickest) and again at the tips in case the ends of my hair went flat from pulling my hair up in a bun.  I wear my hair up A LOT because it is so long so I used this mostly to revive my curls.  I didn’t notice any “curl boosting” on the first day when used.

Dippity-Do Girls With Curls - Curly Hair Product Line

I’m still on a journey of redefining my curl patterns on my hair after years of heat damage and constant straightening.  It’s a consistent battle because my hair is long and grows so fast, I literally cut it every 3 months to keep up with the growth and to keep my hair from getting too heavy and weighed down.  When it comes to curly hair products, I have tried most if not all of them and have spent a great deal of money on this mop I call hair. lol I miss my tight Keri Russell curls that I used to have… but I’m slowly working my way back to it again.  With products like these from Dippity-Do, I can see a great curly haired future in sight.

Dippity-Do Girls With Curls - Curly Hair Product Line

Each product from the Girls With Curls line costs just $6.99 – come on now, major steal.  While some of the products worked better for me than others, I can’t help but feel obligated to want to continue using them all because the price point really is nice.  I know I’ll be keeping the Gelee in my hair routine, as well as the Shampoo and Curl Defining Cream.  The rest all worked reasonably well – but I’m not quite convinced I still need them all, though that won’t stop me from repurchasing just so I can use them all together.   What I really enjoy about this line is that while it’s drugstore priced, it really doesn’t have crappy results.  My hair seems to feel fuller and have more body – which I love since my hair is on the thinner side.  Overall – I would definitely suggest this brand and hair care line – I was beyond impressed and didn’t expect it to work as well as it did.  These pink bottles are definitely going to be in my curly hair future.

What about you?  What kind of hair do you have – curly, straight, wavy?  What are your favorite curly hair products if you have any?
