I’m so excited to share a makeup look for all of you on this beautiful “Makeup Monday”.  Today is extra special because I have a Guest Writer here on Honeygirl’s World and this will be her first post that she shares with you.  Those of you that have been around the blog or my YouTube channel for a while may have seen my little sister Harmony stop in and share a smile.  Today she’ll be sharing a little information and her FOTD featuring BeYu Cosmetics.  Please join me in welcoming her to my site.

On my face I am wearing BeYu Cosmetics.  I have on the Color Patch Eye Palette 348-4303 which has green tones with gold undertones and shimmer.  My eyes are lined with BeYu soft liner 667 for eyes which is a teal metallic, while on my lashes is BeYu Beauty Queen Volume Waterproof Mascara in black. The mascara itself is a very thin formula, so none of my lashes clumped together, making for effortless application. First coat already defined the lash length, and as I kept applying it was a very buildable and it was not a thick formula. Although the wand was bigger than my regular mascara, I had no problem applying the mascara at all and particularly loved the lightweight feeling after application.

I have lined and filled in my lips with BeYu soft liner 5954 for lips, an almost burnt orange, without being so intense.  On top of that I am wearing BeYu catwalk volume gloss.  It is said to be an instant lip plumper and it does seem to have the effect of Plumping my lips.  It is a thick consistency but it’s not too uncomfortable on the lips.  It definitely is a gloss so of course, it will transfer should I eat or drink anything and I would need to reapply but it pairs perfectly with the soft lip liner, color matching perfectly with the lip liner.

The eyeshadows are very soft it feels like I have nothing on and there was absolutely no fallout, yet the color pigments shine beautifully in the light, reflecting every speck of iridescence. The mascara caught every single Lash on my eyes and is not heavy or thick. The soft liner pencils for lip and for eyes glided on smoothly and their color payoff is quite excellent as well.

Normally I prefer a matte eyeshadow as a base in any one of my pallets but for these quads, I think that every single shade available is gorgeous and easily wearable. Freely mix and match the shades to your individual preference, but quite honestly each quad has Shades that you could pair with anything and take with you on the go the only thing that I wish is that there were some form of mirror that came with the quads but I was able to use mirrors that I had already on hand.

Stay tuned for other looks using different quads and products from BeYu in the future, as well as a full review of some of the products you have seen displayed in this post.

Thank you Harmony for contributing to Honeygirl’s World.

I don’t use a lot of makeup during the summer time and lately I have found that I have really been enjoying a simple look – mascara and lip balm.  But, after getting my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette, I’ve really been enjoying working with it and creating looks.  Contrary to how it looks, this palette is much more than a pink toned palette like it seems.  I’ve been loving the combination of warm tones to create showstopping looks.  Today I share with you a look I created using mainly this palette with a little pop of color on my lower lash line with ColourPop’s Flower Shop (from their Spring / Summer collection).  I’ll be sharing this look with you as well as swatches of the palette and more.  Be sure to click on the video if you want to chit chat with me and watch me GRWM when I create this look.

Let’s chit chat about this palette first before we get into the whole makeup look, shall we?  The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette retails for $42.00 and includes 14 beautiful shades appropriate for any time of year.  This palette also includes a duo-ended brush to help create those stunning looks.

I purchased this palette with a little help via an online site called Octer.com.  Octer is a cool platform to help with online shopping, making it possible and easy to shop no matter the device you use – whether you’re browsing on your smartphone, tablet or desktop.  Octer lists the biggest US stores and 8,000 brands across all verticals and fashion from everyone like Topshop, ASOS, Farfetch and Net-A-Porter.  Octer has been live since November and has a feature which helps consumers find the right product at the right price.  It’s easy to use and as simple as searching your favorite type of product – housewares, clothes, accessories, makeup and more.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette is an essential eye shadow collection that includes a variety of neutral and berry tones.  It’s the first permanent palette in the ABH line – which I love, since so many of the palettes I own from her were Limited Editions.  This palette includes gorgeously pigmented shades that offer you the opportunity to create endless looks for daytime and evening.  I am absolutely in love with the pigmentation of each color even if some of them did kick up a bit of dust and a little bit of fall out it’s a beautifully pigmented palette.  At first glance, this eye shadow palette looks like it would be too berry or too pink to create many looks, but I have found that I’ve been able to create a variety of looks with the shades.

The palette has faux suede packaging that make it feel really nice and soft and so far it has been easy to clean.  I love that each name is listed under the individual shades – which is always a great thing in any eye shadow palette.  The magnetic closure seals the palette up tightly, but not too tight as to make it difficult to open and close.  The mirror is a good size and this palette really offers a variety of shades for your money and make it a good travel palette.  I’m impressed overall with this palette, the packaging and the shades.

To create my look I used the neutral tones in the Modern Renaissance Palette to create the base of my makeup look.  For the pop of color, I decided that I would use Flower Shop from ColourPop as a little pop of color on the lower lash line.  Of course, you could totally utilize one of the berry shades in it’s place to really make the look pop.

If you are looking for a cool place to check out products from different devices, I definitely suggest checking out Octer.com, I’ve been enjoying the site since being introduced to it and it’s a fun place to check out items all over the web.  It’s not yet a year old, but has come a long way since it started in November.  When it comes to makeup palettes, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette has really won my heart.  The eye shadows are very blendable and pigmented.  Considering the price point, you get gorgeous shades and it’s definitely worth checking out.  Like I mentioned before, while it looks like a palette you may only be able to utilize in the Fall, it’s actually a great neutral palette with pops of color.

Have you tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette?  If not, is it something on your list to check out?  If you have, what are your thoughts on this beauty?  Don’t forget to check out my video for a GRWM and walk through on how I got this makeup look.

It seems like it’s been quite a while since I’ve shown my face in a makeup look or tutorial or anything along those lines.  As much as I love makeup, I love a bare face so much more and besides a little tinted lip color or lip balm and some mascara, I haven’t been really using much makeup lately.  With the boys out on Summer break and I feeling like a needed a little refresh, I figured I would pull out some makeup products I haven’t touched in a while and a few that I have been loving and bronze the heck out of my face while adding some glow and a little pop of color.  My GRWM video which you can click and watch here (also embedded below) is quite long since I’m chatting and talking it up like girlfriends do, so if you want the shorter version, just keep reading.  If you want to come hang out with me and talk story for 30 minutes or so, hey, grab something to drink – cup of joe or a glass of somethin’ and click play.

Like most of my makeup looks, I didn’t really give it any thought and just pulled at different cosmetics to create something I knew was functional and that I could use during the day.  It seems like a really long time since I utilized my Milani Bella Eyes Gel Shadows, so I figured I would grab those and make use of them.  Frankly, I just really wanted to use Bella Khaki – it’s such a gorgeous color and I just don’t use it as much as I should.  If you are looking for a soft pop of color, a shade like Bella Khaki is gorgeous for that kind of look – it’s a gorgeous green with a light gold shift so it works really well with a bronze or neutral eye look.

This eye look may require some additional layering, but it’s very easy to create and I love that you really can’t screw it up – it’s all about layering and blending.  You can certainly use this look without lashes and it would still be very wearable for every day – but since my lashes are pretty much non-existent, well – it was a given that I pop some wispies on and call it a day.

** The photos were taken with my phone, so I hope they offer a good visual for anyone reading.  Video also filmed with my phone.

That’s pretty much it.  The look is simple and easy to create and like I mentioned earlier, I do have a video that walks you through the steps if you’re interested in learning how I did it.  It’s a long one as I chat about my life at the moment and explain each step – so if you’re interested in hanging out with me, grab your favorite drink and watch the video embedded above or click here to watch directly on YouTube.

What about you… do you rock out a bronze look as summer season hits?  Comment below and let me know.

There was absolutely no reason for me not to get the Lorac Mega Pro 2 after seeing sneak peeks months before it was released.  I was one of the lucky few that got my hands on Lorac Mega Pro last year and it has been a palette I have enjoyed and well loved so I just knew I needed to get my hands on its sister.  Being a fan of Lorac Pro palettes – I also own 1 and 2, I felt that I would really enjoy this new one and decided it was a great idea to get my hands on it.  A great friend, Kiley – waited in line and picked one up for me so I could add it to my collection and it’s been a palette I have been using consistently since.

Great Gift For Your Favorite Makeup Lover - Lorac Mega Pro 2

The Lorac Mega Pro 2 Palette was released in October this year as an exclusive palette to Ulta.com and Ulta Beauty stores.  This gorgeous thing retails for $59.00 and sports 16 shimmer and 16 matte shadows for a total of 32 gorgeous beauties all in one palette.  If you recall the Lorac Mega Pro palette (see my review and swatches of this palette that is no longer available here), this palette has a similar layout and packaging of the first and really looks great when compared to its sisters in the Pro family.  This sequel to the Mega Pro Palette is double the size of the Original Pro Palettes (1 & 2) and has a gorgeous blue packaging which I think is very appropriate and eye catching.  Like with any of the Pro Palettes from Lorac, the shadows are gorgeous and buttery, offering a velvety-smooth feel that is infused with soothing botanicals for easy application.  These shadows are very pigmented and do well wet or dry.  You can use each shade to apply to the lid as an eye shadow, wet a liner brush and apply wet as an eye liner or wet to increase the vibrancy.

Great Gift For Your Favorite Makeup Lover - Lorac Mega Pro 2

With such a wide and versatile range of shades, this palette would make a great holiday gift for that makeup lover in your life.  There are a few shades that are repeats from some of the Pro palettes like Black since they are essentials for an eye look.  The matte shades blend and apply really nicely and while they are all buttery, the shimmer shades can kick up some dust or fall out so for those that don’t work well with them, I suggest taking your time and patting each shadow on before blending.

Great Gift For Your Favorite Makeup Lover - Lorac Mega Pro 2

1st Row: Porcelain (matte), Custard (matte), Tawny (matte), Burlap (matte), Melon (matte), Tangerine (matte), Saddle (matte), Forest (matte)

Great Gift For Your Favorite Makeup Lover - Lorac Mega Pro 2

2nd Row: Bisque (matte), Lavender (matte), Purple (matte), Sorbet (matte), Goji (matte), Cabernet (matte), Ash (matte), Black (matte)

Great Gift For Your Favorite Makeup Lover - Lorac Mega Pro 2

3rd Row: Sugar (shimmer), Chiffon (shimmer), Prosecco (shimmer), Soft Plum (shimmer), Cinnamon (shimmer), Sandstone (shimmer), Gunmetal (shimmer), Blue Quartz (shimmer)

Great Gift For Your Favorite Makeup Lover - Lorac Mega Pro 2

4th Row: Moonlight (shimmer), Seashell (shimmer), Peony (shimmer), Dark Sienna (shimmer), Penny (shimmer), Olivine (shimmer), Gold Leaf (shimmer), Black Ivy (shimmer)

Whether you are a neutral lover or love a little pop of color – this palette will offer a wide range of shades and the price point can’t be beat.  I’m a huge fan of Carol Shaw and the Lorac Pro line so I knew I would enjoy this palette and all the gorgeous shades that it offered.  The bottom row of shimmer shades is probably my favorite, Dark Siena and Penny offering colors for me that easily work with my skin tone.  I think overall this palette not only gives you a wide range of shades to play with but the textures are nice and very blend-able.  As I mentioned before, if you have a little trouble with the dust kick up or fall out in these shades, make sure to tap the excess off your brush and apply in patting motions to the eye lid.  Also – a little goes a long way with these, so take your time when applying to the lid.  You can build the shades up to the intensity you want – so pick up a little color at a time.  You can always build up your shades, but removing color once it’s placed is near to impossible without starting all over again.  Used over an eye shadow primer, you can get all day wear from your shadows and so many of the shades make great “washes of color” to use all over the lid for those days you just want a little “something” added to your looks.

“Any time not spent on love is wasted.” – Torquato Tasso

I’m so glad that even with the hype around this palette, it is still available at Ulta.com giving other beauty lovers an opportunity to get their hands on it.  Last years launch of the Mega Pro palette was a huge fiasco and while I was lucky to get my hands on one of those, I felt so bummed that so many didn’t have an opportunity since it sold out in a matter of minutes.  If you are looking for a gift to treat yourself this holiday or one for the makeup lover in your life, I highly suggest picking up the Lorac Mega Pro 2 palette.  With so many options to choose from, hopefully my little suggestion will give you a little ease with shopping.

So what about you?  Did you get your hands on the Lorac Mega Pro 2 when it was released?  If so – are you loving it?  If not, will you be adding it to your collection or giving it as a gift – or both?

Pick yours up today (or a gift for someone else) at Ulta.com or Ulta stores.

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year because it allows things to cool off here in Hawaii and I can wear my cozy and warm fashion favorites that I love so much.  Besides scarves and slouchy sweaters, another favorite for me is hats or beanies.  Let’s face it – anything that will keep my full head of hair in place without sacrificing style is a plus and I’m all about keeping the ears warm as the months get colder.  Today I share with you a simple plus sized outfit featuring a beret from Scala Pronto.  If you love Fall fashion as much as I do, hopefully I can introduce you to some really cool ideas for this season’s wardrobe.

Fashion Friday - Plus Size Casual Fall Outfit

This slouchy beret from Scala Pronto is fashionable, chic and totally flattering.  I have a larger head size than most people and found that this beret fits easy and comfortably as well.  The collection is affordable, retailing for $32 and available in grey or oatmeal (what I’m wearing).  Slouchy hats just scream Fall and Winter and are so fashion forward.  It’s one of those accessories that has literally stood the changes in trend and attire over the years and paired with your favorite Fall outfit, you will be ready to take on your day.

Fashion Friday - Plus Size Casual Fall Outfit

What am I wearing

Beret – Scala Pronto Beret in Oatmeal

Scarf – Plaid Tartan Scarf / Wrap from Amazon

Top – Black Plus Size Scoop Neck Tee from Torrid

Pants – YMI Jeans Plus Luxe Skinny

Footwear – Steve Madden Heaven Leopard Ballet Flats

Sunglasses – Kenneth Cole New York Metal Frame Rectangular Frame Aviators

Watch – Invicta Silver & Gold Divers

I chose to wear my Tartan Scarf like a wrap – but they go wear if wrapped around the neck like an infinity scarf or swooped around once and hanging long.  While I chose to wear flats today (it’s still too warm for boots), my normal choice in footwear would be a pair of boots – it’s a staple for me this time of year.  Pair this look with fun accessories like your favorite bracelets or necklaces and you have a showstopping outfit.  There is nothing wrong with a casual look – this is mine.

Fashion Friday - Plus Size Casual Fall Outfit

Makeup of the day

Eye shadow – ColourPop Desert, Strength, XO and Bravery

Eye liner – Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper and Mally Evercolor Eyeliner in Midnight

Lashes/Mascara – Ardell Demi Whispies 120 and Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Lips – ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Tulle

Fashion Friday - Plus Size Casual Fall Outfit

When it comes to Fall fashion – I literally live in cozy and comfy.  Let’s face it, I live in Hawaii where the weather is warm year round, so I look forward to the cool, crisp Fall air.  I practically live in Skinny Jeans and slouchy sweaters and I love pairing those key elements in my wardrobe with fun accessories that make a statement.  Slouchy looks are so on trend for Fall and Winter and Scala Pronto has satisfied that with their well made Beret.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the grey one and rock that out too.

Scala Pronto berets come in a wide assortment of colors and knit stitches.  Find your favorite in a variety of highly decorated versions.

Purchase your Scala Pronto beret here at villagehatshop.com and check out the other products available for purchase to add to your fall looks.  Pack your beach wear away and pull out your favorite knits, plaid and all the fun warm and cozies you have hiding in your closet and enjoy the season.

I know Summer has just begun for many but here in Hawaii, it’s been hot and these hurricanes and tropical storms keep sweeping in near us.  Because of this, I’m truly looking forward to Fall and Winter and I find that I have been really craving that cool Hawaii Winter weather a lot lately.  Inspired by Fall shades, I decided I was going to use a Berry Smoky Eye today and since I haven’t been using much makeup lately, I was really excited to play with color.  Today – I share with you my FOTD.

FOTD | Berry Smoky

Since I don’t use foundation or concealer (I know – I say it over and over again), I went ahead and used the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer (review here) applying this product all over my face to create a canvas for my other products to last all day.  I then started with my brows.  Today I pulled out my Paula Dorf 2+1 For Brows Kit (review here) and did these babies up a little darker and bolder than I normally wear them to accommodate for my eye makeup.

For my eyes I wanted to pull out some of my ColourPop shadows that I’ve been neglecting lately.  I started with a base – I’m using my Milani Eye Shadow primer.  Then I used ColourPop’s Selfie as my transition shade blending into my crease and fading up towards my brow.  To create a sultry bold burgundy look, I added a blend of In A Pickle and Cheeky on the inner corner of my eye lid blending towards the middle of my lid.  Then taking Drift and blending it from the middle of my lid to the outer corner.  To smoke out the look, I took Hustle and added it to the outer corner of my eye then mixed Hustle and Drift together to apply on the lower lash line.  To create the pop of color and highlight on the inner corner, I used ColourPop’s XO.  To give my browbone a subtle highlight and to diffuse the harsh lines I took Laetus from the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette and swept that under my bone and blending with ColourPop’s Selfie for a flawless transition.

For eye liner I am using the Milani Kohl Kajal liner in black to line my upper and lower rim and smudge along the lower lash line.  For my winged liner I am using the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper.

FOTD | Berry Smoky

For face products, I used Coastal Scents Forever Blush in Delicate and swept that over ColourPop’s Highlighter in Most Necessary to achieve a slightly bronze glow.  For my highlight I am using Lunch Money as a base topped with Becca’s Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector (Jaclyn Hill collaboration).  I applied highlight to the top of my cheekbones, along my cupids bow and above the arch of my brows.

For lips I am using Jordana’s EZ Liner in Rock N Rose topped with ColourPop’s Lumiere Lippy Stix.  My mascara for today is a combination of Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara and Benefit Roller Lash (top and bottom lashes) and then finished off with a set of Ardell Demi Whispies which are my go-to.  To complete the look – I used YSL’s Touche Eclat Blur Perfector to set my makeup (more so my blush/highlighter) in place all day.

FOTD | Berry Smoky

It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared a Face of the Day – but I’m looking forward to Fall and sharing more fun with all of you.

It’s no secret that the Holiday season is surely my favorite time of year.  As a child, even if we grew up with little money, my parents always made this time of year special and I’m thankful that I got my creative sense and fun swagger from them.  Lots happened this week, busy busy busy!  So, here is a quick weekly wrap up.

This year, Halloween came and went faster than I could ever imagine and before I realized it, Halloween crept up on us and we were all getting dressed to trick-or-treat.  My husband and I took the boys to the Pumpkin Patch earlier in the week which was fun, they had a blast (vlog coming soon) and while we were a bit late to get up there, we still found us some fun pumpkins to carve and draw on.  Since this has been a yearly tradition for us to go, everyone was excited and we were so thrilled to see the boys have a blast.Pumpkin patch 2014

I’m also happy to say that we are hitting cooler weather, woohoo.  While we don’t really have snow here with exception to the summit of our dormant volcano, it’s still nice to know that I might be able to rock out some warmer threads this season.  We are all looking forward to cuddle weather.  We also had Parent Teacher Conference for all three boys this week too… I’m proud to say that all three of them are excelling wonderfully.  To say we are proud parents would be an understatement.

pumpkin patch 2014

While my husband had to work on Halloween night, my sister and I took the boys out to Trick-or-Treat in a neighborhood we were quite familiar with, we go there each year.  Expecting to hit the mother load of candy this year, we were a bit bummed that half of the houses were not giving out candy.  I think we may need to find a new location.  It was a bummer, but nonetheless, we got some goodies anyway and it was about having fun – not the candy.

Halloween 2014

This year the boys picked out their costumes to wear instead of Mommy painting their faces.  Kevin (Ka’eo) was a ghoul… the one from the Scream movies.  The cool thing was that his mask dripped blood and everyone really got a kick out of it.  Luke was Captain America, Isaiah Superman and I decided I wanted to really embrace my tomboy-ishness and painted a skull mask on with some face paint and makeup.  I did the top half of my face (my eyes) using makeup to give it a sultry sexy tomboy appeal. lol Details for my makeup are posted below.  My sister Harmony did a mask out of makeup – I loved it, reminds me of like a Dark Angel look.

Halloween 2014

We were quite happy to see a few commercials the last week and wanted to take advantage of the deal.  It was FREE Spooky Face Pancake night at IHOP, so the boys, my sissy Harmony and I enjoyed breakfast for dinner.  Yay us!

Overall this past week was quite a blast.  It went by much too quick for my liking, but what is most important to me is spending this time with my family.  Sometimes during the holidays we forget to stop and think about what is most important… we are either too busy shopping, cooking or working to blink and it is too often that we forget to soak in all the awesome memories.  I can admit – I’m surely guilty of that.  So make sure to stop and make a memory of what you’re experiencing… the work, the food, everything in between will still be there when you are done making memories. xo

Halloween Skull Makeup

As promised, here is my makeup from Halloween.  Everything was super simple to create and this was a great choice for me since I needed to be done and ready to go to catch all the good candy. lol  For my eye makeup I am using a combination of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna and Amrezy Palettes.  Both have been favorites of mine all month and I really loved that it gave me a great fall smoky look. I know I promised to have a review up for Tamanna, so I hope to do that soon.  I am using Ardell 120 Whispies, Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, Paula Dorf 2+1 For Brows, Tarte Smoldereyes Pencil in Fig and Mally Evercolor Liner in Midnight and L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara.

Halloween Skull Makeup

For my skull part of my face, I am using White Halloween Cream Makeup, Milani Bella Eyes Shadow in Bella Black, Mia Mariu black eyeliner, a blending brush, a pencil brush and an angled eyeliner brush.

Halloween Skull Makeup

I opted for a pair of jeans, flip flops and a black t-shirt since I wanted to be comfortable, a little warm since it has been chilly out and I wanted to have mobility.  My shirt is a custom shirt and I’ll be posting about that soon.  I hope you all had a fabulous week and a fun Halloween.  While I know some people do not celebrate the holiday – I totally understand that, I hope you had a wonderful day nonetheless.  My feet hurt, I’m a bit tired but at the end of the day, I surely had a great one.

Did you have fun this Halloween?  What were your highlights from this week?  Wishing you all a fabulous weekend. ~xo

Melted Violet lipstick Too Faced

I am absolutely in love with Too Faced Cosmetics’ Melted lipsticks.  I got Melted Violet and Melted Peony and I swear, if I could I would be rocking out Too Faced Melted Violet every single day.  I’m working on a post for review so I won’t get into too much detail, but let me just say… it’s stolen my heart. <3

It was a Too Faced kind of day today… since I recently got my POPSUGAR Must-Have box in the mail (post on that coming soon), I had to dip into my Natural eye palette – I decided I would rock out Too Faced products today.  It is a rare thing that I use majority of one brand but with exception to my eye liner and my brows, everything was from Too Faced.

Eye Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Eye Shadow:  Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette – Cashmere Bunny (crease shade), Honey Pot (lid shade),  Heaven (brow highlight), Chocolate Martini (lightly blended into the Outer V and blended under lower lash line)

Eye liner:  NYC HD Liquid Liner (upper lash line – slight wing) and Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof liner in Black Orchid (water line/tight line)

Lashes:  Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Lips:  Too Faced Melted Violet lipstick

Brows:  Cailyn Gelux Brow Gel in Cocoa

I opted for an eye and lip look today so I don’t have any face makeup on – no blush, bronzer or high light.  Have you tried any of the melted lipsticks?  I have been smitten with the two I own and I’m seriously considering picking up a few more shades.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Oh… quick note – I want to share a giveaway with all of you.  Check it out – there will be 8 winners.  Click on the link below if you are interested in entering.

Happy Easter Love Bugs.  I hope you all had a great and fun filled day.  I was quite excited today because my husband was able to get the day off, so we got to spend the day together as a family… Yay Us!  I figured I would share with you the makeup I rocked out today as well as a few photos from our day.  Read more to find out my Easter FOTD.

Easter FOTD

My choice of makeup today was super simple because I wanted a soft sweet look for Easter.  I only had my phone on me so all my photos were taken using my Note 2.  I am truly terrible at taking pictures of my makeup looks on a consistent basis, so I’m working on making it a point to take photos of my looks – even if only with my phone to post.  I used the following products:

Easter FOTD Products

I like to be festive for the Holidays so I pulled out my trusty bunny ears (had these for about 5 years now) and earlier in the day I dressed in a bright yellow dress.  I figured my eye makeup was perfect for the day since it was wearable but still offered a statement.

Easter 2014 FOTD

Of course, no Easter look is complete without a flower crown on your head.  I thought it was very “spring” and I got a lot of compliments on it.  Easter was a lot of fun and I enjoyed dressing up.

Easter Sunday 2014

My parents came up to spend time with the boys and I was able to get a quick camera opp with my sissy – who came up to spend a little time with us too.  The boys got to find eggs two times today, since we spend the day with both my side of the family and then later in the day with my hubby’s.  I am so lucky to be able to have these opportunities with my family – because we know that moments like this are never guaranteed and we need to really enjoy them and take advantage of them when we have them.  I’m truly blessed and had a great day.

I hope you all had a fabulous and wonderful day.  Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate it and those who do not – I wish you a fabulous Sunday!

The rainy weather has not been agreeing with me lately.  So when I created this look, I could not get a good photo of it and I had to film the tutorial using lights instead of the natural light coming in from my window – but nonetheless, I digress and move forward.  I created this look because I haven’t had the opportunity to do any makeup tutorials using my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and I’ve been playing around with it for a few weeks now.  I used the look book included with the palette as inspiration to create this look, but I did switch it up a little.  I hope you enjoy this.  I thought this would be a really sweet Valentine’s Day look without being too dramatic or over the top, but definitely on the smoky side and sultry.  It’s super easy to create and definitely wearable for a day or night out.

Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial - Cherry Truffle

Products used:

Eye Shadow Primer – Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Eye Shadow Base – NYX Eyeshadow base in skintone

Eyeshadows – Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette (Champagne Truffle – used as a sparkle transition from the crease to just below the brow, Cherry Cordial used on the inner and outer lid, Creme Brulee used on the inner lid, Haute Chocolate used in the crease and blended onto lower lash line, Triple Fudge used to deepen the crease “just a little”, and White Chocolate as the brow highlight.)

Eye liner – Jordana 12 Hour Made to last gel pencil liner in Black (waterline/tightline and lower lash line), Jesse’s Girl Waterproof eyeliner pen (winged liner)

Mascara – Perfekt Beauty Lash Perfection Gel topped with Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara

Lips – Milani’s Color statement liner in Spiced and YSL’s Ulimate Beige Lipstick

Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial - Cherry Truffle

As I mentioned earlier, lighting was not ideal so I was not too happy with the photos I was able to get before the rain came down harder and the sky darkened.  I take all of my photos outside in natural lighting so it was a bit of an issue, but at least I have some photos to show.

Be My Valentine!

Be My Valentine - Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

Valentine’s Day is just a few short weeks away.  Most you know – I have a huge crush on anything that has to do with “being in love” and this Holiday is no exception.  Since I came up short with doing any Valentine’s Day tutorials last year (I only posted looks), I decided that it would be best to start early this year.  I am also entering this look into the Ipsy January Look Challenge since I was able to utilize products from the January Ipsy Bag.  This will also be the first tutorial using the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette (review coming soon).

So have you put any thought into what you are going to be doing this Valentine’s Day?  My husband will be working the night shift so my sons and I will be having a nice little dinner at home.  While I’ll miss my husband tremendously (I’m one of those gushy romantics), I know that everyday is Valentine’s Day for us and I’m lucky that he makes me feel special each and every day!

Be My Valentine - Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

I wanted this look to be very easy to recreate and wearable.  While the liner is a bit on the bold and dramatic side, this look will offer a bit of sexy and sultry but without all the effort.  You can surely add blush/bronzer if you wanted to – but I decided to opt out of that in this look.  I promise to have at least one more Valentine’s Day tutorial posted in the next two weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy or learning more about it – click on my link here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/1o41  For just $10 a month you get a cosmetic bag filled with 4-5 products.  In the past I have gotten goodies from Urban Decay, Sexy Hair, NYX, and so much more.

Wishing you all a wonderful Valentine’s Day – whether you are Single or In-Love… make it an awesome day!

Happy Aloha Friday Loves.

I know, I know – I’m bombarding you all with posts… but I’m a bit behind.  I took a few days off and now I feel like I can’t catch up fast enough. lol  This post is all the deets on my Face of the Day or FOTD from yesterday (01/02/14).  It is my first look of the year, first selfie of the year, first makeup of the year (since I went bare face to all the NYE activities).  I wanted to share it with all of you because this is also the first look I captured on camera using my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.  I’ve used the palette for my makeup 3 times and was so caught up with the Holiday I forgot to take photos. lol  So – without further adieu, here’s more pics and the details to the look.

Have you gotten your hands on the Urban Decay Naked 3?

I am loving this palette.  A full review with swatches and more will be posted in the next few days – so keep an eye out for it.

Sweet Melody - UD Revolution lipstick Rapture

What about the Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks? Have you tried any of those?  I have a sample I received from Ipsy a few months back in the color Anarchy (a very bright and intense fuchsia pink), but I received Rapture for Christmas from my hubby.

It’s a gorgeous mauve toned pink – kind of on the nude side but I LOVE IT! It is my perfect type of shade.

Hope you guys all have an awesome and wonderful weekend… Smooches!

I was beyond excited when I got my Tarte Bow & Go collection in the mail.  I am a huge fan of Tarte Cosmetics and the palette included in this collection had colors that could be used for everyday wear.  Now – don’t get me wrong, I love a bare face and most that know me know that I will opt for a plain “no makeup” face every single day of the week if I could.  But I love having a versatile palette that I can pull for to create a wearable look for every day wear.  This palette offered up a gorgeous sultry look with little to no effort.

Last week I did a video of my Top 5 Eye Shadow Palettes and the Urban Decay Naked Palette was one of the 5.  I always find that I can use this palette for any look.  I’ve been asked many times why I haven’t shelled out the money for the Naked 2 and it’s mainly because the colors are much more cool toned and I just wasn’t a fan when I swatched it in person.  I have taken my Naked palette with me across the United States… from Hawaii to Washington DC and everywhere in between.  It is still a favorite of mine and I find that I have been pulling towards it a lot more this past week.041 copy

To create this look I used the following eye shadow colors from the Urban Decay Naked 1:

  • Naked – Transition and blending color
  • Half baked – lid color
  • Darkhorse – outer corner and slightly into the crease
  • Hustle – outer v
  • Virgin – brow highlight
  • Smog – lower lash line
  • Sin – inner corner highlight

Other products used:

  • Primer – Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Eye liner – Jesse’s Girl Waterproof Liquid Liner
  • Mascara – Urban Decay Super Curl Mascara with Elizabeth Mott’s It’s So Big mascara
  • Lips – MAC’s High Tea Lip stick over ELF’s Studio Moisturizing balm in NIce & Natural and topped with Buxom’s White Russian gloss

I took photos at different times of the day so that you could see what it looked like in different lighting.  The photo above (brown background) was taken just as the sun set.  The photo with the white background was taken when the sun was still pretty bright… about 3:30pm.
