I had planned to include this item as a part of my Father’s Day round up for 2017, but as many of you know, my father passed away two weeks before Father’s Day and I couldn’t bring myself to write up the post. As much as I wanted to push past my heartache, I struggled with putting it together so it didn’t make it on the blog this year as I had hoped it would. This would be the first Father’s Day in quite a while that I didn’t offer a Father’s Day Gift Guide. Because of this, I would like to apologize to my faithful readers and companies who had hoped I would feature their products. Because of this, you’ll be seeing me play catch up over the next few weeks and talking about products that I would have loved to include in that specific round up but didn’t get the opportunity to do so. Today, I would like to talk with all of you about the Wild & Wolf Wrench and Torch Multi-Tool which can be purchased at one of my favorite websites – The Grommet. Let’s get all the fun and exciting details, shall we?
The Wrench and Torch Multi-Tool is perfect for any man and offers a great gift idea for any time of year – birthday, Christmas, Holiday or just because. It retails for $35 at thegrommet.com and is rugged and built to last. This wrench multi-tool offers five other tools within the entire package, including: a knife, screwdriver set and even an LED light. It’s created and engineered to be tough while still looking elegant and encased in gorgeous packaging – sleek and hardcore. Honestly, I was an instant fan of this because it is something I could easily take with me and keep in my car to use “just in case” or gift to my husband or man in my life as a great gift.
The Wrench and Torch Multi-Tool is made of 420 stainless steel, plastic, rubber, lithium battery and an LED light element. It comes with an adjustable wrench, plain edge knife, LED light, bottle opener, saw, flat (standard) and Phillips head magnetized screwdriver set and 6-10 hex wrenches. It is built with durable steel construction and is made to last.
I have purchased and received many things from The Grommet and everything I’ve gotten off the site, I’ve enjoyed. This multi-tool from Wild & Wolf is no exception. With the months blazing by (we are already in August), I know this would make a great gift for anyone this upcoming Holiday season. I’m loving this tool and while I originally expected to give it to my husband (well, I promised him he could use it), I’m loving it so much that I’ve decided to keep it for myself. As many of you know, I’m a total car buff and I love to be independent, so this tool gives me the luxury of having the important tools I need, right at my fingertips.
Overall, I think that this multi-tool (and others from Wild & Wolf on The Grommet) would make a great solution as a gift for anyone, even yourself. It offers a variety of uses and the price point is great. I also want to touch on how sturdy this product is. I’ve hit it around several times over the last few months and I already made use of the bottle opener and LED light on more than one occasion. Tough and made to hold up to years of use makes this a definite winner in my book.

We are literally just a few short days away from celebrating Mother’s Day. As a mother, I look forward to spending this day with my husband and sons because they are the ones that make me a mom, but this year, my eldest son will be off island for a band concert and I’m certainly going to miss him. If you’re wondering why it has taken me so long to share with you a little gift guide as I tend to do each year, well – that’s the reason! I’ve been able to spend this day with all of my boys since they were born so I have been in my own little pity party the last few days knowing that he wouldn’t be home. A few days ago, I realized that I needed to get over myself and be thankful that my husband and sons treat me like Mother’s Day is every day and no special day on the calendar is ever required. So – while I am a bit late at sharing my gift lift with all of you – I figured that I would make this post because any day is a great day to get a treat – right?
The first thing on my list is this gorgeous necklace from The Vintage Pearl which you can find on The Grommet. The Grommet has to be one of my go-to websites for finding unique gifts for my loved ones. This Messy Nest Necklace is a cute treasured keepsake and I absolutely love it. Whether you are getting it for your moms or grandmothers, I’m sure it will be a hit. The necklace starts at $42.00 and is handcrafted in the United States of antiqued silver wire. Each nest is handcrafted and filled with freshwater pearls – one for each child in the wearer’s heart. It’s set on a sterling silver ball chain and can be customized to match the number of children in the family. The creator of The Vintage Pearl is a mom herself and started creating from her kitchen table in hopes to be able to be a stay at home and work from home mom. This is probably one of my favorite pieces to share with you because it’s certainly a sentimental piece. I hope that The Vintage Pearl will offer this in gold one day.

Next is another gorgeous piece that can also be found on The Grommet. The Family Tree Necklace by Vintage Stamp Jewels is a great piece that can be worn every day. The delicate family tree charm represents the life connections that matter to each of us. You can choose the color and number of Swarovski crystal charms that accompany your tree. The bezel-set crystals can represent any important moments or people from birthstones of children or grandchildren, milestones and anniversaries or any special date or time that is close to your heart.

Now, when I think of Mother’s Day – I always associate a really great face mask as a gift. Here’s the deal, I LOVE an awesome face mask and some of my favorites come from Miss Spa. If you’ve been a long time follower of my blog, then you know I’ve raved and talked about this brand a lot over the years. What I love about Miss Spa is their wide range of masks available for a variety of skin types and textures. You literally can find one to fit your needs or someone you love.
Did I mention that these masks are so affordable? Depending on the type you select, they start at about $4.00 each and go up in price from there and you can easily find a mask that suits you. I definitely love a great face mask for Mother’s Day because I don’t have time for an at Spa pampering so I love doing it at home.
You can learn more about Miss Spa products, purchase your own or get it as a gift here or at your local Ulta or Drugstore.
Bath Bombs are a favorite gift to receive and to give on Mother’s Day. For years my sons and I made creations of our favorite scents and dried flowers to give as gifts, a tradition that my sisters and I did when we were teenagers. One of my long time favorite handcrafted websites for great bath, body and essential oils is Sky Organics. I’ve been using their essential oils for a few years now and I just had to include them in this guide. All moms deserve a little pampering and bath bombs are those little fizzy wonders that just help any mom relax. Sky Organics offers their Organic Bath Bombs Gift Set for just $25.99 (one of my favorites besides my own handmade ones) and it includes 6 beautiful bath bombs in an assortment of scents – Caribbean Coconut (my favorite), Lavender Lemon Muffin, Love Potion, Mermaid Kiss, Strawberry Milkshake and Sugar Rose. These beauties are made in the USA and each bath bomb has a net weight of 5 oz. It’s a total steal for sure.
If bath bombs aren’t your thing, then be sure to check out their wide range of essential oils. They offer a set with all of their oils for just $50. Did I mention they also provide FREE SHIPPING. Head on over to their website here for more information.
LATHER is another company I recommend to anyone and they offer gift sets that are perfect for Mother’s Day or any day of the year. Their Dream On set ($58.00) includes their blue chamomile foaming bath treatment, lavender aromatherapy candle, Art of Tea sleep tea handcrafted loose leaf tea (organic), tea infuser, quiet night relaxing balm, eye mask, and a reusable gift box. All of these essentials are perfect for treating mom to a night of a little peace, quiet and relaxation. With my sleepless nights and insomnia, this kid would be the absolute perfect way for me to just settle down and relax.

I’ve been swooning over IT Cosmetics the last few months now and I knew I just had to include some of these beauties. Honestly, I’ve been totally stalking IT Cosmetic’s website now making a VERY LARGE wish list of items I want to try. I have literally only tried their Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment and Bye Bye Under Eye, so I find that this portion of my post has an ulterior motive for me… hehehe! Maybe my friends and family who see this will snatch something from IT for me for Mother’s Day. Hey, one can hope, right. j/k! This year IT Cosmetics is offering a bunch of IT girl essentials that will literally have your Mom feeling her most beautiful on this special day and always.

The Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment ( I just mentioned about how this is one of the products I have tried from IT) is also a great gift selection. But, this NEW Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Treatment is now available in Rose. It contains the essential butters and oils, hyaluronic filling spheres and antioxidants for your softest and smoothest looking pout while it flushes your lip to the perfect rosy pink. The original is my go-to when I’m in a rush or not feeling makeup but want a little color to my lips. It’s definitely something I’d buy for my mom and something I’d love to receive as a gift. It retails for $24.00
Lastly from IT Cosmetics, I wanted to share with you the Bye Bye Pores Blush (retail $24). This award-winning Bye Bye Pores formula is infused with optical-blurring pigments which instantly diffuse the look of pores and discoloration. It’s filled with skin-loving ingredients like anti-aging silk, hydrolyzed collagen, antioxidants, and peptides which will give any Mom (any body) a youthful flush. You can purchase any of these products on IT Cosmetics website here.
Who says hair products and tools don’t make great gifts? Not me! I would love to get a fab hair tool for Mother’s Day so I figured I would include something that would help mom eliminate the “hair tool storage” and get a 3 in 1 that can do the trick. The CHI Ellipse 3-in-1 Styling Iron is a great tool to make convenience mom’s game. You can create a multitude of looks using this very versatile styler that includes 3 styling options in one tool. With Teflon and Titanium plates to create smooth and sleep styles on a non-stick surface. You can great smooth hair, curls and waves with just one tool. The styler has adjustable temperature settings that heat up to 410 °F / 210 °C. It has a ceramic heater for consistent temperature and an LED touch sensitive temperature control and display. You also get a temperature lock feature (oooh… fancy) and a 1 hour shut-off. I also love that it comes with it’s own glove, so you have everything you need for the perfect hair style. The CHI Ellipse 3-in-1 Styling Iron retails for $110 but the price is reasonable considering the quality of the product and the fact that you can use it for more than one style.
You can learn more about this tool or grab one for yourself or your mom here.
This next gift idea is untraditional, but definitely something worth mentioning. The Revolar Instinct (I’ll have a full review on this product in the next week or so) has been a very important part of my everyday. Retailing for $80, this little device can be the perfect gift in a big way. The Revolar is a product that is brand new (the Indiegogo campaign has just completed) but a tool that I think is very worth the while. It’s a quarter sized connect button that with 1-3 clicks, the Instinct can send different custom alerts to friends and family to let them know where the user is and what level of help they need. Unfortunately, sexual assault is on a rise here in the United States and violence against women is at an all-time high. You can send help to your location with a few clicks of this wearable device. It not only empowers you to be proactive about your safety, but this little Instinct will help ou stay in touch with loved ones as well. Did I mention it also tracks your steps? There are no chords, and easy to use device and you can replace a battery in about a year so you don’t have to worry about charging it. Last year my mom was sitting in a parking lot when someone tried to attack her. Luckily she was in her car and was able to escape. When I was 4 years old, a man attempted to kidnap me, I was in his car and he was about to drive away when my dad stopped him in his tracks. Devices like this are easy to use and definitely worth it. I wish I had one for each person in my family. I had to share this with you because it’s a gift I think that would be invaluable to any mom and anyone. Like I said, a full review will be coming soon – so stay tuned.

I’ll be honest, as a mother, I can honestly say that any type of gift is such a wonderful sentiment, but I never expect it. I think that Mother’s Day is every day of the year for me and I’m so lucky to call myself a mom. I love creating handmade gifts for my mom and my mother in law from all of us because I think it’s special and I’m quite good with a glue gun. Little flowers or hairpins decorated in fabric or paper always seem to make our loved ones happy. At the end of the day – a gift should come from the heart, whether purchased or made. My sons make me handmade cards each year and I cherish them with all my heart.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
I want to remind you that Mother’s Day is every single day of the year. If you’ve been following me a while then you know that I believe this to be so with Valentine’s Day too. Hmmm… I wish Christmas and birthdays were every day of the year also, hahaha! Anyway – no matter the gift or sentiment you give to the moms in your life, make it special. This last minute gift guide was not intended to be late, but I’m reminded that a present for mom doesn’t have to be given only one day a year so even if you miss picking up one of these for that special lady in your life – feel free to use this as a guide to put together a special treat for her at anytime.
I want to take this time to wish all of the mommies out there (whether you have human children or fur babies) a wonderful Mother’s Day this Sunday. May your day be filled with lots of love and hugs and a whole lot of warmth and happiness.
“To the world you are a Mother, but to your family you are the World.”

I love Christmas shopping, especially for my children. When it comes to Christmas, my boys are so laid back and easy to shop for, that it makes surprising them each year that much easier. I think children should have a wide range of gifts from clothes and toys to books and games and I’m always excited to write up my list of treats for my boys each year. Shopping for kids can be a challenge, at any age… so I have compiled a list of presents that are reasonably priced for any child. No matter the age, I’m sure you will find something in my list that your children may enjoy. Let’s get started, shall we?
Trekz Titanium Mini Wireless Headphones ($129.95) – These headphones from AfterShokz are the ideal gift for my teenager. Kevin Ka’eo is at the age where he works on projects for school on his iPad and Tablet and needs a quality headphones that can take the beating that teens dish out. He also runs and jogs so I really want to ensure I have a product that will work for him and provide him with quality sound.
The Trekz Titanium Mini Wireless Headphones are lightweight and comfortable. The are stereo headphones which are the safest alternative to traditional sport headphones and earbuds. With bone conduction technology, an open ear design and a suite of convenient features, the Trekz headphones deliver premium music play and crystal clear calling without any compromise. This headphone is designed with athletes in mind and are sweatproof and secure – making them ideal for my son. They will allow you to hear your surroundings – no matter where life takes you.
4id Power Spurz Light Up Heels ($19.95) – If you have little ones or even teenagers (heck, I even use them), Power Spurz are a great gift. They keep you safe and visible through your outdoor training, walking, running or everything in between where you need to be lit up so you are visible. The lightweight heel spur has two available settings – pulse and continuous light. The piece slides conveniently on the back of your shoe and glows in a vibrant LED light. Since my family and I often do night time walking around our block, or are out and about at the local festivals, these work perfect for the boys and they were a hit at Halloween. They come in five different colors and I definitely suggest it. They fit on my shoes as well as the boys so you have many options to utilize these.
LUX – The Principled Block Lux Blox ($29.99 +) – All three of my sons LOVE Legos or anything that will allow them to build creations to their heart’s desire. I love encouraging their imagination and the fun without the screen, so Lux Blocks are definitely a fun toy for anyone to play with – kids and adults too.
Lux is Made in the USA and was created by artist/inventor Michael Acerra because he and his wife Healther wanted to give the world a block that could bring everything as nature does. These construction blocks allow you build and make structures that curve, bend and move. The come with a unique, patent-pending snap and lock hinge system that allows you to build a structure that flexes, twists and turns.
There are different sets available and like I mentioned before, it doesn’t matter your age or your child’s age – they will love Lux as much as we do. While we still LOVE Legos in our house, Lux has easily become a building block we enjoy and I have it on my list to purchase several sets for my nieces and nephews.
Magic Sketch Art Tablet For Kids ($29.95) – I love As Seen on TV finds and the Magic Sketch is definitely one of them. This fun and new way for k8ids to draw, play and learn is flexible with an LCD screen that is transparent. The Magic Sketch allows kids to trace with the provided stencils or from their own images and creating all kinds of amazing art is fun for all ages. Unlike most tablets, the Magic Sketch is super kid proof. Kids can drop it, toss it, even step on it and it won’t break. It’s completely water resistant, so if they have a spill, it will wipe off and they can keep going. It’s got advanced internal electronics so you can clear the screen with just a push of a button.
Each Magic Sketch retails for $29.95 and includes:
20 Learning Stencils
20 Games Stencils
20 Art Stencils
I especially love this as a gift because it’s perfect for travel, mess free and I don’t have to worry about replacing an expensive device if it breaks or gets lost or stolen. It’s an ideal gift for all ages and I can’t wait to doodle on it myself.
Books & E Readers Make Great Gifts ($10 +) – My sons all love to read, so a great book (or two or three) or an E Reader like the Amazon Fire Tablet make great gifts. These items make fabulous stocking stuffers or fun gifts for unwrapping. Each year, I select at least two books for each of my boys and wrap them up. This year – I’ll be purchasing an Amazon Fire Tablet for the three of them to download some of their favorite Kindle books (that way there is more room for my books on mine… lol) and with Amazon Prime and Amazon Underground – many books are free to read and download. A basic Amazon Fire Tablet will make a great gift because it provides a plethora of apps and internet capability at reasonable costs. You can easily get a Tablet for $50 now a days and it’s worth it.
A few books that the boys have been loving lately – The Adventures of Camp Nana Papa and The Spinfords are great classics that I think any child would like. My eldest is currently reading The Kingdom Oceana (not currently pictured) and highly suggests that one.
Stompeez Slippers ($19.99) – Slippers with Personality. These slippers are absolutely adorable and perfect for my twins. They are fun, soft and comfy. Walk, stomp or jump and Stompeez will pop to life.
I thought these would be the perfect gift for Luke & Isaiah because they love soft and cuddly things. They come in different sizes and a variety of different designs – 9 total. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Batman, Nemo, Dori, Shopkins, Happy Puppy, TRex Dinosaur and so much more.
Buddy Balls ($19.99) – Zip it, Flip it, Love it! The boys and I have talked about Buddy Balls here on the blog before and it was a rave for a product. We love Buddy Balls and definitely thought it would make a great Holiday Gift to include in our gift guide. Buddy Balls are soft, cuddly and so sweet. They are little bears that you can zip up and flip into a ball to play with. The boys love them and I love them so much, I’ve purchased several of these as gifts for the holiday.
You can read about Buddy Balls and our review on these sweeties here.
I realize that most of the gifts I listed in this post are really for boys, but hey – I grew up a tomboy and I loved to play with all the boy things when I was younger, so I guess many of these things really gravitate in my mind as fun gifts. The fact of the matter is – they are all unisex and the gifts like Stompeez and Buddy Balls are sweet presents for little girls as well as any of the items I’ve chosen here. Each of these were selected because we have tested them ourselves and the boys and I really went through and found the ones that we would love to get or enjoy. At the end of the day, gift giving is about love and the thought is always what counts in our house.
I do have something fun for all of you. The boys and I are working in collaboration with AfterShokz and giving away a Trekz Titanium Mini for someone this holiday season. Check out the Giveaway Widget below to enter.

When it comes to celebrating Father’s Day – I can be a bit lax and tend to pick up things I know that my husband, dad and father in law would enjoy. It’s not necessarily about planning – because those three men in my life are simple bodies who just want to spend Father’s Day with their children and grand children. But this year, I thought it would be fun to showcase different ways to show Fathers love on this day that happens once a year to celebrate dads. Today I share with you 5 ways to show dad some Father’s Day love and a small gift guide in case you are still on the hunt for that perfect gift.
Say it with love!
Sometimes gestures like helping around the house are worth more than its weight in gold. Mowing the lawn, cutting the grass or washing dad’s car can be very important tasks that your father does that we tend to take for granted. You may not think that this is gift worthy, but taking the initiative to do something for your father could mean more to him than anything materialistic.
Treat the “Dad on the Go” with a special gift!
My husband, Dad and Father in Law all work in different locations spread across the island and because of this, each of them spend a lot of time in the car driving to and from their destination. Sometimes we don’t think about how much time they spend in their vehicles and how it really is a secondary home for them. There are a few things I like to make or buy for those fathers in my life to help make their drive a little less hectic.
Make a CD or mix of digital songs with their favorite tunes to help make the time in the car enjoyable. My dad and father in law are big oldies fans and a mix of songs from the era of the 60s – 70s will make for great listening pleasure. My husband is very eclectic when it comes to music, so any hip hop or mix from the 80s and 90s works well.
A travel mug or insulated coffee cup. My husband, dad and father in law are coffee and tea drinkers and because of this, if they can – they will take their coffee with them. A good travel mug that will allow them to keep their drinks warm while on the go is perfect for anyone. A good stainless steel mug will travel well but will also take a beating if it gets dropped or falls.
Convertible Car Seat and Booster with accessories – Remember how I said that dads can live in their cars just as much as their homes. Well, it’s not necessarily traditional gifts, but getting accessories to protect the children and the car can be great assets for any dad that spends a lot of time in their cars. My husband, dad and father in law can transport my children easily with an extra car seat for them to use at a moments notice and brands like Diono offer so many accessories for dad to keep his car in tip top shape while also running errands. The Diono Radian RXT convertible car seat ($359.99) is designed for your child’s security and is made with premium materials and safety features like a steel alloy frame, aluminum reinforced side walls, energy absorbing EPS foam and a five point harness system. It’s also convertible so it grows with your child allowing you to change from car seat to booster and accommodating children up to 120 lbs. Instead of taking the seats out of my car to put into theirs, they will have a seat that they can use for one of my children at any given time. Diono also offers the Stuff ‘n Scuff which is a washable and waterproof fabric that helps to keep mud and dirt off the back of your vehicle’s seat. It has a large cargo pocket and provides full seat protection. This is a lifesaver for us, because my children kick the back of the seat as they are getting in and out of the car. Don’t forget the Pop Up Trash Bin – a collapsible storage bin that pops open for extra storage or for trash. These companions are perfect for the car and for the Dad in your life that has littles that he transports in his vehicle.
Sunglasses – any cool dad that is on the road needs a great pair of sunglasses to help keep the glare from disturbing his driving and help to protect his eyes. We are a family that swears by Maui Jim and absolutely loves Polarized glasses to help with driving visibility. While you can purchase Maui Jim sunglasses online, they can carry a hefty price tag so I’d also like to suggest Westwood Everett Verawood Polarized Sunglasses. They retail for $80 and are truly well made. They are light weight and comfortable and protect the eyes for daily use or while driving. They also come in classic looks that will fit most head shapes.
Let that special dad know how much you value his time.
It may seem corny, but the fact of the matter is – time stops for no one. As many who know me know, a watch or clock is such an important part of who I am as a person and I got that from my mom and my dad. I will buy a watch each year for my husband and love picking up special designs that are cool and classic for my dad. Watches mean more than just telling time and a special watch for that special guy can be a great gift.
The Invicta Pro Diver Watch ($675 USD) is a great choice for any father. I’m an Invicta collector so naturally I would gravitate to an Invicta watch for my loved ones. This gorgeous watch is made of Stainless Steel with Swiss watch components. It’s Water Resistant to 200 meters and offers beautiful detailing that any man would absolutely love and enjoy. If you have a father in your life that is a watch collector or just loves a great time piece, this will surely be one that he will enjoy.
Cook Dad a special meal or dessert because food is always the best way to the heart.
I love to cook – so cooking a special meal and dropping it off to my parents’ house always shows love and my dad is always grateful. My dad loves seafood so any type of dish with his favorite foods would make a great gift. My father in law, well – he enjoys my cooking, so I know that if I cook something, he’ll surely love it… and my husband – he’s easy to please too. Cooking a meal or dessert is so much fun for everyone to get involved in. The boys love to help me in the kitchen so getting children to take part in preparing this special dish will be a breeze. When food is made with love and from the heart, it’s a great treat.
Give Dad a little time to relax and unwind.
Did I mention that time is precious? Sometimes we forget that all we need is a few minutes to ourselves to really gather our thoughts and just unwind and relax. My husband and dad like to have a little gentlemen’s drink now and then to unwind and just sit and talk story about their day and where they are in life at the moment. A bottle of their favorite spirit, cocktail or liqueur is a great gift for any dad and even your father in law. My FIL loves to unwind with a Cigar, so a good cigar and a bottle of Liqueur would make a great gift this Father’s Day.
Crystal Head Vodka retails for about $40 – $60 for the .750 mL depending on where you buy it and you can find it at most liquor retail stores and establishments. It’s a great gift for any dad and comes in beautiful packaging. The Vodka is made with pure Newfoundland water and filtered through 500-million year-old crystals, also known as Herkimer diamonds. The bottle is made of beautiful Bruni Glass in Italy and it’s just a showstopper for any collector or liqueur connoisseur.
Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey is charcoal mellowed before going into the barrel giving it the smooth taste you know, but with an extra blessing again of charcoal after reaching maturity to give it the ultimate smoothness drinking. It’s full-bodied with fruit and spices with a silky, warm & pleasant finish. The Gentlemen Jack is a whiskey made for the gentleman order. The .750mL size retails for about $40 and goes great with a cigar.
If you are not looking to buy alcohol, you can always buy a really cool flask, engrave it and give that as a gift too – they make awesome gifts for dads.
Please make sure that if you are buying alcohol or cigars for your loved ones that anyone who receives it drinks responsibly. This is just a suggestion.
At the end of the day, celebrating dad doesn’t require spending money but it’s always great to find a gift that Dad will love. Like I mentioned previously, my husband, father and father in law just love that they can spend time with family on Father’s Day and those are some of the most cherished times for them. A phone call or a card that is handmade make great little treats for anyone and they will be well received on Father’s Day.
To all the fathers out there, today and always… Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for being great inspirations and for loving us all.
Disclaimer: Some of the products mentioned and discussed in this post were sent to me for review and feature consideration. All opinions are my own, 100% honest and unbiased. Affiliate links are posted through out. While there is a mention of alcohol and cigars, this is merely used as a suggestion and as with anything on this site, my own opinion. Please drink responsibly and please do not drink or drive. I do not condone underage drinking. Thank you!

I have had my fair share of great Mother’s Day gifts. My husband and I are so in-tune with one another that we usually know exactly the gift we want to get for one another or something that is practical and we’ll get a lot of use out of. My goal for this list is to offer a variety of goodies for any woman, whether the stay-at-home or work-from-home mom, busy business woman or the granny with style, these gifts will surely please.
Let’s start with a little makeup – shall we? I recently was introduced to Youngblood Cosmetics, a beautiful line of mineral cosmetics created by Pauline Youngblood. From Foundation to lipstick and everything in between, Youngblood Cosmetics offers a wide range of color cosmetics that is made with quality ingredients and great black and chic packaging. I have been using a few of the products from the line and look forward to trying more. Anything from Youngblood is gorgeous, but two of my favorites is the Pressed Mineral Eye Shadow Quad in Shanghai Nights ($43 USD) and Mineral Radiance Compact (pictured) in Splendor ($43 USD). Each or any of the products are perfect for the sophisticated woman that is looking to add a little color to their life or the makeup and beauty loving mom that wants to try something new.
A great cleansing oil and a fantastic mud mask is perfect for that mother in your life. One of my favorite gifts to give to my favorite gals is the Borghese Fango Active Mud Mask for Face and Body so I just had to include the Fango Active Duo Set as a gift option. This two piece set retails for $60 USD but the Fango Active Radiance Facial Oil retails for $60 on it’s own, so it’s like you get a free product or gift with purchase. This set is gorgeous and I love how Borghese products display on the vanity. The Radiance Facial Oil has a blend of botanical oils that help to transform the skin’s texture, soothe dull and dry skin and nourish and restore lipid loss due to aging and environmental damage. The Fango Active Mud for Face and Body is one of my holy grail masks, offering a detoxifying mineral-rich mask that hydrates and firms the skin while reducing fine lines and providing you with smooth and toned skin. Paired together, this not only makes a wonderful gift – but a great treat for anyone.
Can we just talk about the design of this unit for a second? My gosh, it’s so pretty and girly and would make the most wonderful Mother’s Day gift for any mom. The Michael Todd Soniclear Petite is one of my favorite skin cleansing tools. I have raved about it time and time again here on my site and would recommend ANY of these units for a gift. This cleansing tool is the petite version, smaller than the original and the elite but perfect for travel and comes with a universal USB enabled charger which makes this great for those on the go. It’s a waterproof unit with 3 speeds to help tailor to your cleansing needs and is antimicrobial. What makes it so great is not only the design (and the pattern) but that this product is reasonably priced at just $109.00. I seriously wouldn’t mind unwrapping one of these as a gift and I know it would make a fabulous present for anyone.
I wrote about these two products from LATHER on my blog a few weeks back and they continue to be favorites of mine so I know they would make any mom or mom to be happy. The LATHER coconut creme body whip ($22 USD) is one of my favorite body butter / lotions to date. I have used MANY, trust me, and I find that it not only smells yummy – it moisturizes my skin wonderfully and leaves a light fragrance that is so delish. This body creme is silky and whipped to perfection and my skin is left soft and hydrated for hours. This is the perfect creme for any mom or mom to be. I highly suggest this as a gift to that “mom to be” because this would make a great body creme to lather on the body while pregnant too. The Vanilla & Argan Lip Scrub ($10 USD) is a must have for anyone. It is moisturizing and tastes delicious and sloths away any dry skin on your lips leaving them plump and soft for your favorite lip product or for kiss… teehee. What’s great about these products is that they come from a great brand and are made with quality products.
With the summer months just around the bend, nothing says beachy and ready for some sun like a great tote. This gorgeous striped Sportswear Tote by Helly Hansen ($50 USD) is lightweight and the perfect bag to store your everyday essentials for all your summer fun activities. It’s available in three different colors: Navy, Aquamarine and Sorbet and has a shoulder strap and carry handles. Marine stripe fabric and detailing give this tote the perfect look for sporting and toting around this summer. As a handbag lover, I know that I would love to get this quality made bag as a gift this Mother’s Day.
The next gift is one of my favorites… for moms like me who like to take their hair ties and rubber bands and turn them into an unsightly fashion statement as we wear them on our wrists. The Bittersweet Hair Tie Bracelet ($45 USD) was created by Maria Shireen – a functional fashion accessories company. It was a gift from her husband as he had it designed and created so that she could eliminate the pressure on her wrist from the elastic bands but also make her hair tie look like a stylish bracelet, by creating a channel that holds the hair tie in place. Hello – total genius, simple, unique but functional. This bracelet has literally changed my fashion game up hugely. If you have seen any of my outfit posts here on the blog – then you know that I have turned my many hair ties into the ugliest thing to grace my wrist, but I NEED them at a moments notice so I keep them handy that way. Now with the Bittersweet bangle I can literally look fashion forward without being a fashion faux pas. This literally makes a great gift for any mom and I know they will make use of this bangle as much as I do. I love it so much – I have my eyes on the gold and rose gold too.
You can’t go wrong with buying your favorite mom a perfume for Mother’s Day and Pacifica Beauty offers a set of three for just $19 USD. The Daydreamer Roll-On Trio offers three delectable scents that would make any mother happy. Tuscan Blood Orange, Tahitian Gardenia and Indian Coconut Nectar (one of my favorites) this set offers a roll-on perfume for everyone. Pick up the whole set and gift it together or break up the set and make three mother’s happy this Mother’s Day. Pacifica offers cruelty free products and are available on their website: Pacificabeauty.com, Target and Ulta stores.
Now, of course – I know there are moms out there that may be stationery, planner, pen or paper addicts… like me. So, I wanted to make sure that I included something that would satisfy those moms too. I LOVE pens and some of my favorites come from PenGems and from their signature collection. I probably have 8 or 10 of them and I love them not only because of the way they write, but because they are beautiful, stylish and just a great statement to any planner, purse or notebook. Pens, pencils and notebooks can be great gifts for mom from children or grandchildren. I love searching through Target’s One Spot Dollar Spot section for cute notebooks, pens and pencils as well to give as gifts. You can get a great selection for about $1 to $3 and you’re bound to find something you will enjoy as well as the favorite mother(s) in your life. These kinds of gifts are easy to personalize and make great little presents to open.
Of course, we can’t leave out the techie gadgets and nothing says awesome like the gift of a camera. The Sony RX100 iv ($950.00) is the perfect gift to give that will help that special mom capture every moment that her family has. It’s compact and powerful. With the ability to capture images in 21MP at up to 16 frames per second and record videos in 4K or HD – this is the perfect camera for a beginner or camera enthusiast, offering an impressive compact camera for every day use or for special occasions.
Whatever gift you decide to get that mom or moms in your life, I’m sure it will be wonderful. These are just a little suggestions of products and goodies I’ve been loving lately. Of course, as I mentioned previously – I love flowers and welcome them with open arms (especially my favorites) but when you want to think a little outside of the box, some of these presents would be perfect gifts for your loved one. I look forward to Mother’s Day each year because it reminds me that being a Mommy is so much more than presents – it’s love and happiness year round. I look forward to my sons making me beautiful handmade cards that take them hours to complete and while Mother’s Day is everyday in my house, I think it’s a day worth celebrating. Besides, I wouldn’t be a mother myself without the help from my mom and those that have come before me… right?

They come in many different colors as well as a set of rainbow ones.

I’m a skin care addict, so for me receiving skin care is such a fab gift because I either get to try something new or get a replenishment of my favorite skin care products. It can be difficult to shop for the skin care lover in your life because skin care is something that is very personal and with different skin types and sensitivities, it can be hard to pick and choose the right one. However – that doesn’t mean that someone wouldn’t want to get it as a gift. Today I share with you my choices for Skin Care sets or products that will make any skin care lover happy. This is a small selection of goods, but some great choices nonetheless. If skin care is something you’re looking to buy as a gift – ask the gift receiver to teach you their skin care routine to get tips on the products they love and if that doesn’t work, a gift card works well too. Now on to the Gift Guide for the Skin Care Lover.
A great skin care regimen includes something to help treat the eyes. Reviva Labs is one of my favorite skin care brands and the Collagen-Fibre Eye Pad Kit ($38.00) comes with the pads to treat those under-eyes as well as the Skin Energizing Gel (which you put below your serums to help improve skin response). The 100% pure freeze dried Collagen-Fibre is a guarded secret to provide quick improvements to your eye area by diminishing wrinkles, reducing puffiness and decreasing dark circles. This kit is perfect for the Winter months and would make a great gift for anyone who is into anti-aging skin care.
Call me biased but I think Tatcha Skin Care is one of the absolute bests I have tried and I have tried many. This brand offers you the finest quality Korean skin care in beautiful luxe packaging. The Tatcha Hakken Special Introduction Skin Care Set ($95.00) includes 6 travel sized versions of each step of the Tatcha beauty ritual (best selling products from Tatcha) and would make the perfect gift for someone looking to try the brand. Tatcha does offer a few other sets that would make great gifts but the Hakken Set is my favorite. With beautiful gold detail on each product and a gorgeous gift box wrapped to impress, this gift will make that Skin Care lover in your life fall head over heals.
Proactive Solution Acne Kit from Rodan & Fields ($30) may seem like an unconventional holiday gift but there is a reason for my madness. As a teen, my sister experienced acne and my parents worked really hard to afford treatment for her. Proactive Solution was new in the market at that time and while the price was still attainable it was hard for our family to afford it financially. It would have been awesome if someone took the time to find out what my sister could use (since we couldn’t afford it often) and either give her a gift card for it, or buy a set to help with the cost. Acne cleansers and skin care is not an ideal purchase as a gift, but if it is something someone already uses, they will surely be thankful that they don’t have to spend the money on it because someone gifted it to them. Whether a teenager or an adult, if this is something your loved one or friend uses, find out if they would like a set as a gift. Keeping up with a skin care regimen is a challenge when you can’t afford it or you have to spend your money elsewhere and I think they would be very thankful if you gave them a hand. Check out this site for more information about Proactive and how it can benefit you or otherwise.
When it comes to skin care, you need good cleansing tools. I have two I’m going to share with you that are not only my favorites, but I swear by them. The first is the Soniclear Petite by Michael Todd ($99.00). I recently shared this on my site (literally just a week ago – you can read my review here) and it is the perfect size for anyone looking to try out something for cleansing. It’s travel friendly, portable and come on now – look at that Watermelon color, it’s gorgeous. Soniclear has awesome anti-microbial properties which make it perfect for those with sensitive skin or those that are germie-phobes like me.
Next favorite skin care cleansing tool is my Foreo Luna ($199.99). It surely is an investment but I use this cleansing tool consistently and it is a favorite. While this is the full sized, you can also get the mini and get a great clean just as well. This product, like the Soniclear is perfect for those with sensitive skin because it also doesn’t harbor all those yucky germs and bacteria that other tools can. What makes this a great gift is that there is no extra cleansing heads to replace making this a great gift for anyone.
Last but not least is my skin care arsenal from InstaNatural. I have featured this brand consistently here on my blog and I have a list of favorites I love so choosing a favorite to share in this gift guide was a challenge. I decided I would list a few and you could decide from there which may work. Of course, Hyaluronic Acid is a part of my every day skin care regimen and the one from InstaNatural is one of my all-time faves. I have repurchased it a gazillion times and love how well it works. The Argan Oil is so universal for skin, hair and nails as it the Phytoceramides capsules which I take daily. The Age Defying Skin Clearing Serum is one of the best and also another I simply can’t live without. If you are looking to invest on some serums for yourself or looking to treat that special skin loving person in your life – InstaNatural’s reasonably priced products will surely be a favorite.
I mentioned the Menaji Skin Care for Men set in my Gifts For The Man In Your Life guide, but I figured it would be a great thing to mention it again. My husband enjoys Menaji’s products and this gift set is a must-have for the men who love a good shave. There are four different products in the David Skin Care Set ($79.00) and it comes with a great expandable travel bag that’s perfect to hold all of these goods inside. I think any man would enjoy this set and it would make a great gift.
Shop some of my favorite skin care items:
Well, that sums up some great skin care finds for you or someone you are shopping for this holiday. Of course, there are a lot of other brands out there that you can choose from but these are a few things that have made my favorites list this year and I wanted to share them with you. Skin care is such an important part of who I am and something I’m very passionate about. I hope that if you are on the hunt for some skin care products for a gift, that this list will help make it a little easier for you.

Let’s face it – shopping for men can be a challenge for anyone and today I am hoping I make your shopping trip a little easier for you. I am the only girl (woman) in a house filled with men (my husband and 3 sons) so shopping for me is a breeze once I know their style. Knowing the style of your special gentlemen is key in finding a gift that will suit them. Most men are not very picky and if they are, you should know by now what they do and don’t like. Use those things as inspiration to do your shopping and hopefully the gifts I share with you will give you a little idea as to where to start. Here is my Gift Guide for the Man in your life – use this information wisely. lol
Unconventional Gift Idea: Let me start off by saying, if you are shopping for your husband, fiance or boyfriend and want something a little special and you’re comfortable doing so – boudoir shots or just a really pretty glam shot of you framed in a nice setting could be a great option as a gift. I didn’t list it above, but it has been a great choice for me a few times already. There is no need for any nudity and it can be tastefully done and look wonderful. That makes a great Valentine’s Day gift as well. One year I took head shots in a pretty top and had my hair styled and makeup done. My husband still carries it in his wallet.
1. Men’s Arm Candy – I’m a watch addict (most people know this), so each year I buy my husband a new watch either for Christmas or his birthday which is Dec. 1st. I have my favorite brands to buy him and because of his job G-Shock tends to be a really great brand for wear and can handle his daily use for his job. There are many other brands out there to select from. Some of my favorites include: G-Shock, Invicta, Fossil, ESQ, JORD and Martin & MacArthur.
2. Skin care – My husband has sensitive skin and is always looking for products that will not only work for him but that will be gentle on his skin. A favorite in our house is Menaji Skin Care for Men. This brand offers a variety of skin care products for the man in your life including Masques, Shave creams, eye gels and more. Menaji has an awesome set called: The David Skin Care Set that includes four travel sized goods in a very cool expandable travel case. Each product included in the set comes from their “Most Popular” and has a retail value of $135.95 but is currently on sale for $79.00. This is a great gift for the man who travels for work or who just loves to keep his skin great.
3. Scarf – If you live in a cold climate… it’s normal to see men walking around with scarves. It is not the norm here in Hawaii, but I figured I would include it. Scarves can range in cost from affordable to high end and luxury prices, but a great scarf that gives a man a little swagger is always a great find. If scarves are not your thing, a great necktie or beenie would be a great fit as well.
4. Fedoraor a new Hat– Hats are a huge hit in our house and man we surely have a very large collection. One of my husband’s favorites (and mine since I tend to take them from him) are Fedoras. They are classic and make sure a great statement piece to any ensemble. Fedora’s are fun because they come in different fabric and style and have a variety of colors to choose from. They offer a swagger to them that most men will like and look really classy. My husband can wear his with anything but looks quite dapper in a full suit topped with a Fedora. I totally suggest one of these and they can be the perfect topper to a great outfit. If your man may not like a Fedora or it may not be his style – a regular hat or something he will enjoy will be an awesome gift too.
5. T-Shirts – We all love a great cozy and soft t-shirt. I will always pick up at least one t-shirt for my husband during the holiday as a gift. This year with Star Wars releasing just before Christmas, what better gift than a Star Wars shirt. A fun cool saying or a neat Star Wars graphic will be a great addition to any man’s wardrobe, especially one who is a Star Wars fan.
6. A New Belt – Ah, nothing says love like buying a new belt – right? Well, it may not be a traditional choice for a gift, but belts make great gifts for the Father or Father in Law figure in your life. It’s a professional yet stylish gift that can be purchased in a variety of colors, types like leather or fabric, choice of buckle and even price range. There are so many available. I am a huge fan of Coach so when I look at belts, Coach is my go-to for something like this. But, don’t be afraid – there are a ton of them available to choose from.
Of course, there are other items I like to pick up for my husband including some new tools or drill bits, electronic stuff he can use in his car or even some new knives for cooking but these are some items that will make for fun gifts. If you have that techie man that has his eye on a new phone case or someone who enjoys music, there are so many items out there to choose from.
Music Lover – Amazon Prime Music or Spotify membership.
Techie or Smart phone addict – E Gift Card to iTunes or Google Play for their favorite apps.
Chef – a new set of Santoku knives or a new saute pan.
Sports fanatic – something with their favorite sports team logo.
Remember, the key to shopping for the man in your life is to know their style and what they love. Once you have all that information set – the rest is easy peezy and shopping is a breeze. In fact, you can get most of everything you need from online shopping and you don’t even have to step foot outside your door or get out of your PJs. I hope the holiday shopping is going well for all of you. Do you have a man that is hard to shop for? If so – I hope you can find the perfect gift for him this year!

Can you believe that the Holidays are literally just a few short weeks away. I’m super stoked to get going on the rest of my Christmas shopping and I’m hoping to get a few goodies on my list of must-haves at a good deal and bargain. I think it is never too late or too early to make a list of Holiday wishes for Santa and together with the Beauty Council, we bring to you another awesome collaboration with ideas for your lists. We present to you a Holiday Gift Guide.
The lovely ladies of the Beauty Council bring to you a shopping guide to use while writing those long letters to Santa. In my list I bring to you a combination of items that I own and those that I have been swooning over. Don’t get me wrong – this is just a small summary of loves I’ve been coveting… but definitely a bunch of goodies to keep on your list.
Viseart Eye Shadow Palettes $80.00 – I haven’t tried these EVER but I really wanted to add this to my list since several of my friends say this is gonna be the palette to sweep the beauty trend by storm.
Bite Beauty Mix n’ Mingle Set $98.00 – It is no secret that I really love Bite Beauty lippies and this set would make the ultimate gift for any lippy lover. If you haven’t tried Bite Beauty products before, this would take the cake – offering you a chance to try some of their awesome products.
Givenchy Palette Extravaganza Lip & Eye $66.00 – I don’t own any makeup from Givenchy but have been a huge fan of the fragrances and the brand altogether. This would make a great gift for anyone that is interested in trying something highend and getting the opportunity to test more than one type of product.
Buxom Lip Gloss Roulette $59.00 – I love Buxom glosses (White Russian being one of my favorites) and my husband bought me a 15 pc set last year which I still continue to love. I figured I would include this as a part of the gift guide since I know it would make any makeup lover excited to receive.
Now – this list looks a little bare to me seeing as I am a huge bag and shoe lover too… but if I had to add in my love for those, I think Santa’s sleigh would be stuck on the ground for most of his deliveries. lol What’s on your Holiday Wish list or what would be some products you suggest I buy? Are there any favorites of yours on my list too? Be sure to check out the lovely ladies from the Beauty Council (links below) and see what they selected as their must-haves for the Holiday Season.
