We are smack dab in the middle of winter and boy oh boy is my body really taking a beating.  I’m just thankful and lucky that I have a list of favorite products that are my go-to when we’re experiencing dry, cold weather.  Lately, I’ve noticed a decrease in the plumpness of my lips, whether it be the cold or just the fact that I’m getting older.  So, I’m glad that the PMD Kiss is to the rescue.

Over the last month and a half (maybe longer), I’ve been using the PMD Kiss device.  The PMD Kiss is a smart anti-aging lip plumping treatment that uses pulsating vacuum technology to create a fuller appearance of lip volume.  It also restores the youthfulness to your lips and with daily use, the PMD Kiss will boost collagen and create a long-lasting plumped result.

This week I’ll be turning 38 and I noticed that after having my children, my very plump lips (at one time) have shrunk a bit.  Having worked for a plastic surgeon, I wasn’t too keen on lip injections or fillers and when I was given the opportunity to try another PMD product (a brand I know and love), I couldn’t have been more excited.  As we age, our lips basically lose volume and color  (I’ve definitely lost a lot of pigmentation in my lips) and we begin to see more lip lines and wrinkles.  The PMD Kiss is to the rescue to help us get youthful, sexy lips.

“I love that my lips look plumper, have fewer wrinkles and lines and have more of its original color to them while still looking natural and sexy.”

The PMD Kiss safely plumps your lips in a matter of minutes and provides you with visible results that literally last for hours.  With continued use (I use mine daily), the PMD Kiss helps to boosts your collagen in the lips which increases the look of fullness and fades the appearance of lip lines and wrinkles.  I especially love that it revitalizes my natural lip color that I’ve lost over the years.

First time using the PMD. The white cast on my lips in the “after” photo is from the lip serum. As you can see in my after photos, my lips look softer and have fewer lines than my before photo. My lips also have a subtle but very noticeable difference in how full they became after using PMD KISS.

After the first time using the PMD Kiss, I noticed immediately the change in my natural lip.  My lips felt softer and looked much plumper than before but the process itself didn’t leave my lips bruised.  Furthermore, it was basically pain-free to do.  Simply apply the device to the six sections of your lip (a guideline/diagram is included in your package) and use daily or as needed.  Just a minute or two of time each day and you will notice results that are definitely lasting.

How to use:  Apply PMD Kiss Smart Lip Plumping Serum onto your clean, dry lips.  Power on the PMD Kiss and place the plumping tip firmly and directly onto your lip making sure you are creating a tight seal for suction.  Use the PMD in the 6 sections outlined in the diagram (you’ll hear and feel the device working).  Allow PMD Kiss to pulse 15-20 times on each section of your lips.

The photo above was taken on New Year’s Day. This is my look without makeup (no edit) and after using the PMD Kiss every day for over a month. As you can see, my lips look soft and plump.

In the package, you will receive the following products:  The PMD Kiss and a Smart Lip Plumping Serum.  A total retail value of $139.00 for both.

After using this device and serum for more than a month, I am absolutely loving it and it has easily become one of my favorite skincare devices.  I love that my lips look plumper, have fewer wrinkles and lines and have more of its original color to them while still looking natural and sexy.  If there is anything I’m not a fan of, it’s overdone or fake lips and this product definitely gives me the right amount of lip love.

Summer and Winter are the seasons that tend to take a beating on my lips each year.  The Summer months leave my lips chapped and dry because of the heat and humidity and the Winter months leave my lips chapped and dry and sometimes cracked because the cold tends to really dry my lips out.  Because of this I tend to really gravitate towards lip balms that I know will rescue my pout and leave it looking and feeling it’s best.  Recently I was introduced to some lip balms from Palmer’s Cocoa Butter called the FlipBalm.  Now, I’m a huge fan of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter brand and products so I was very excited and ecstatic to give these products whirl.  I have been using them now for about 3 weeks and I’m finally ready to share my thoughts of them with you.  Without further adieu, let’s learn more about the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter FlipBalm shall we?

lip balm, palmer's cocoa butter, flipbalm, flip balm, cocoa butter, coconut oil, vitamin 3, watermelon, coconut, mango, hydrate lips, moisturize lips, balm, balm for lips, beauty, review, skin care,

Retailing for about $3.50 to $3.99 – the Palmer’s FlipBalm is a fun and colorful way to moisturize and hydrate those lips of ours.  Available in three delectable flavors, vibrant packaging and ingredients – you can easily find one that will work for you and help protect your pout this season or always.  The FlipBalms are available in Juicy Watermelon, Creamy Coconut and Ripe Mango.  I have the Juicy Watermelon on my desk and the Creamy Coconut in my purse, my son uses the Ripe Mango.  These cute little balms offer your lips much needed ingredients to help moisturize and protect them and they are so affordable, you could pick up each flavor if you wanted.  Let’s chit chat a little about each one, shall we?

lip balm, palmer's cocoa butter, flipbalm, flip balm, cocoa butter, coconut oil, vitamin 3, watermelon, coconut, mango, hydrate lips, moisturize lips, balm, balm for lips, beauty, review, skin care,

Juicy Watermelon includes incredients like:  Natural Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E and watermelon extract to help instantly hydrate your lips and provide ultra lip moisture.  It has a sweet scent and feels really nice on the lips when applied.  With natural watermelon extract that is rich in Vitamin C to help promote cell renewal, this lip balm has been a go-to for me to use in the morning to prep my lips for other lip products like lipstick.

Creamy Coconut is probably my favorite.  With ingredients like natural cocoa butter, vitamin E and coconut oil – this makes this one a must have for me.  As many know, coconut oil is something I use in my daily skin and hair regimen and it’s my secret weapon so a product that has it makes it a must-have.  The flavor of this lip balm has a coconut sweetness and scent but it is light and I love it.  The pure coconut oil it is formulated with is packed with proteins and fatty acids to soothe dryness.  I use this lip balm particularly at night to help rejuvenate my lips from the day and also purchase one for my purse to use while on the go.

The Ripe Mango is a favorite of my eldest son.  It has a sweet tropical mango scent and flavor.  With natural mango extract that’s bursting with moisture to help prevent dryness and restore elasticity, natural cocoa butter and vitamin E, my son has been enjoying this product.  He naturally has dry lips due to his allergies and finds that this immediately soothes his lips and provides them with the much needed moisture to keep from cracking.

The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula FlipBalms feature a revolutionalry “flip to open” packaging design for easy application with one hand.  They are so fun and genius that they even won the “Best Product Award” for the most innovative packaging at ECRM in February 2016.  This patented, award winning and one-of-a-kind flip top applicator make applying this product easy and quick so it’s perfect for on the go.

Each lip product is made with pure Cocoa Butter, raw Shea Butter and Vitamin E as well as their additional ingredients stated above.  They are clinically proven to moisturize your lips for over 8 hours and I find that I usually apply them to my lips 2-3 times a day.  Once in the morning when prepping my lips for a lip product, once in the afternoon after eating lunch (if I remember) and once before bed to protect my lips.

The FlipBalms contain ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients and are free of Parabens, Phthalates, Petrolatum and Gluten.  These little colorful pocket-sized treats will help protect and heal dry lips and come from a brand loved by consumers like myself as well as celebrities.  You get all the great benefits in a lip balm that you love, but in a tiny little package ready to take with you.

These juicy goods are available at stores like Target, Kmart. Five Below and Palmers.com – so if you spot them, I definitely suggest checking out at least one of them if not all.  If you love lip balm as much as I do – I think you’ll enjoy these as much as I have been.  I enjoyed these so much that I’ve already picked up a few for my “Give Bags” that I donate to the local shelters so that others can enjoy the benefits of this yummy tasting lip balm.

If you’ve been a reader of Honeygirl’s World a while or follow me on YouTube, then you know that for a long time I have been a fan of lip balm spheres from other brands.  The difference I’ve noticed of this particular lip balm from Palmer’s is that it is much softer on my lips when applying and it really leaves my lips instantly moisturized.  I also LOVE the flip top which makes it easier to use – I’ve had to throw out a lip balm or two because I’ve dropped my cover on the ground while trying to apply on the go.  Everything you need for this lip balm is attached so it makes applying with one hand quite easy.

Have you seen these lip balms hit your local stores yet?  If so, have you tried them or have been interested in trying them.  They are colorless so they work perfectly to use over or under any other lip product and I think you’ll surely enjoy them.

A year or so ago I was introduced to deVine Beauty in an Ipsy bag and have been intrigued with their products so naturally when they reached out to me to test a few I was definitely excited.  Who wouldn’t be excited to try something that is all natural and has anti-aging benefits packed into a lip balm?  Capturing the magic of Red Wine Grape, deVine offers a variety of lip products that have antioxidants to help promote healing while offering delectible scents, colors and flavors to leave your lips feeling soft and beautiful.  deVine Beauty also offers skin care products like body lotions and hand creams, bar soap and more.

With Resveratrol, Grapeseed Oil and Red Wine Antioxidants to help promote healing, the deVine lip products come in a variety of colors and flavors and offer you great products that are made in the USA.  Each item is hand-picked and packed from Westmont, Illinois.  The company believes in women, wine & everything deVine and strives to offer you a delectable elixir of products for women (and men) to enjoy.  I had the opportunity to try out three different products from deVine:  The Rose Glycerin Bar Soap $6.95 each (4 oz.), deVine Lip Shimmers $6.00 and Sangria Lip Shades with SPF 15 $4.00.

The Rose Glycerin Bar Soap is a nice Glycerin bar that leaves your skin feeling moisturized and soft.  I enjoy using this during my morning shower to help awaken my senses and really just soften my skin to prep for my day.  It has a light hint of rose fragrance, not strong enough to cause my allergies to go crazy, but still fragrant enough so that I can smell the sweet scent.  I really like this soap and overall I think it’s something worth checking out.

The deVine Lip Shimmers are a nice addition to my lip balm collection.  I got them in Bordeaux and Cabernet.  Each lippy has a light hint of color, offering your lips sheer color for when you’re on the go and want a little something extra.  I like that they are hydrating and since I have tried these before via my Ipsy bag a year or so ago, I think my opinion on them are still the same.  They leave my lips feeling nice and soft but I love the hint of color they offer.  They have a light scent and taste to them, but not enough for me to pin point a particular flavor or fragrance.  I’m quite amazed with the color they offer and since I don’t use makeup daily, these make great additions to my every day look and really perk up my lips.

deVine beauty, deVine, lips, lip balm, reservatrol, review, beauty, makeup, lips, beauty review, swatches, antioxidants, anti-aging,

The Sangria Lip Shades with SPF 15 are colorless but I really like the flavor of these.  They are what I throw in my purse on a daily basis to use along side some of my favorite lip balms.  They not only offer that SPF products that I love, but they are so handy to have and easy to take on the go.  Though they don’t offer any lip color, these are perfect to use beneath your favorite lip shades to give you that extra protection your pout needs, especially during the summer months.

Sadly, I couldn’t find the full list of ingredients on their website, but overall I do enjoy the anti-aging benefits and ingredients I do know about.  I have noticed with the lip products that my lips feel softer and take on lip color very nicely and evenly since I’ve been using these products.  My lips seem to love them and while they are not my only lip balm I use, I do reach for these often and especially the deVine Lip Shimmers on days when I am not wanting any makeup but need a little color to my lips.

deVine beauty, deVine, lips, lip balm, reservatrol, review, beauty, makeup, lips, beauty review, swatches, antioxidants, anti-aging,

If you are looking for something that is reasonably priced that offer ingredients that are good for you – I definitely suggest checking these out.  A lip product that offers Resveratrol and red wine antioxidants is surely something I don’t mind using on my lips.  I love that my lips feel plumper, look less stressed and aged and feel nice and soft thanks to the great ingredient of Resveratrol in these lippies.  The bar of soap is definitely a great thing and I look forward to trying some of the other body care products available from deVine Shimmer soon.

What about you, have you heard of or tried anything from deVine beauty before?  If so, what have you tried and if not – what do you think about this brand offering you the benefits of wine?

A few days ago I shared a review on my YouTube channel on the Bdellium Tools Auto Lip Crayons and I figured, why neglect the blog – I should post a review here too.  I was sent the Bdellium Tools Auto Lip Crayons as a part of Octoly – a site that I’ve been a part of but never really purchased or got products from over the years.  This was the first product I got from my Free Store and I’m glad I was able to try it – since I don’t often use much from Bdellium Tools and I didn’t know they even had makeup or cosmetics as a part of their line.

I received two colors – Pink Cadillac (a gorgeous rose hued bright fuchsia pink) and Kadooment Orange (an orange with red undertones – almost coral in shade).  Each lip crayon retails for $10.00 and Bdellium Tools offers a total of 7 shades on their website.  I would love to try the nude shades they have available because these are so great for travel or sticking in the purse for on the go.

Each lip color is soft and creamy and glide on very easily on the lips.  They are very pigmented and you get – One swipe and done, high pigment and color.  They have a matte like texture but do not leave my lips dry which is awesome and my lips feel very moisturized while wearing the lip colors.  These are not kiss proof, but they do last for quite a while if you are not eating, drinking or kissing.  I love that each lip crayon is retractable, making it really easy to use.

Each lip color is paraben and perfume free.  The lip crayons do not contain beeswax or carmine and include ingredients like shea butter to help hydrate the lips.  Each pencil has a net weight of 0.05 oz / 1.5g so you get a lot of product for a reasonable price point.  I did notice that the colors I got can settle into the lines of my lips – even if they are not drying.  I think a lot of it has to do with the color and creamy feel of the product.  While it does last on the lips, it will kiss off, rub off and will not set like a traditional matte lipstick – but they are very comfortable to wear.

With the cost of drugstore makeup increasing now a days, it’s nice to see a company like Bdellium Tools offer their lip products at reasonable costs.  Let’s face it, $10.00 now a days for a lip crayon is not that bad considering there are so many on the market that are priced way more.  I’m actually impressed with the product, though I do wish it had a little more staying power on my lips – especially since I drink water consistently during the day.  I would love to try out their nude lippies and see how they match up to these that I have tried already.  I’ll definitely be checking these out.  I would love to see what other colors Bdellium Tools releases in the future.
Have you tried these lippies before or anything from Bdellium Tools?  If so, comment below and let me know.  Don’t forget to stop by my video review and show it some love!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think that I would write about these, but since I already filmed the video review and it’s been sitting in my Que for release for a few weeks now, I figured that I would write one anyway.  My opinions haven’t changed since first trying these lippies and I doubt that they will.  Let’s get on with it – shall we?  Today I’m talking to you about the Wet n Wild Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipsticks from the Limited Edition Lost in the Wild Flowers collection.

The Wet n Wild Color Icon Metallic Liquid Lipsticks from the Lost in the Wild Flowers collection showed up in my local Walgreens about a month (or more) ago and I found four shades available.  The display was quite picked through so I’m not quite sure if there are more colors available, but I picked up what my Walgreens had and I was really excited to get my hands on them.  Retailing for just $3.99 these metallic liquid lipsticks were a part of a limited edition collection that included nail polishes and some blush and highlighters (or that is what I seen in the display) and I decided I would only pick up the lipsticks.

Now this new craze of metallic liquid lipsticks seem to be hitting quite a few companies and brands as they are being released all over the internet and you may have already seen different brands like Kylie Jenner and Milani – even ColourPop recently released a set of them.  I was quite excited to try one that was affordable.  After bringing the four shades home with me, I immediately began to swatch each one.

The packaging is adorable and I love how small it is while still packing in a good amount of product.  The doe foot applicator is also quite nice.  It has a slight dip in the applicator allowing you to apply the product to your lips easily and ensuring the product hugs your lips to create shape.  It reminds me of the Jordana Sweet Cream liquid lipstick applicator which I talk about in this post here.  The only difference is that the one from Wet n Wild, the applicator is a little more on the fluffier side, but it still makes applying the product a breeze.

If you are looking for a lip product that is much like a gloss, you may like this particular lippy.  This reminds me of a glittery gloss with a similar texture.  It’s kind of odd to me to be honest and applying it on my lips – while the colors are pigmented, it looked weird and felt uncomfortable.  This is not a liquid lipstick texture I would prefer.  It reminds me of a gel like lip gloss formula with shimmer and metallic flecks.

Longevity… I couldn’t say that these lasted AT ALL.  They kiss off very easily and drinking or eating anything really left a mess behind.  While they do have nice pigment and color, I hate that when I wipe it off my lips, it leaves that metallic shimmer behind which settles into the fine lines and cracks in my lips.  It’s unattractive and really emphasizes all those lines on my lips whether at it’s full pigmentation or faded.  I also haven’t seen any other colors available in this line and while I’m not a fan, maybe a different color selection would make for a different opinion.  All of the shades have a blue base to them, which is not my favorite to wear – especially if they have a shimmer or metallic look to them.

Since they are so affordable, I think they would definitely be a great topper for a matte lipstick or something fun to wear.  They oddly remind me of my childhood – which by the way, I am a child of the 80s and a teen of the 90s, so that says a lot about the shade range and finish.  While I was able to apply the lip products and get color from them, there is a lot of streaky color application and sometimes I felt like I was applying more and more but rubbing off color at the same time.  While these are cheap, unless you have something fun planned for them – I don’t think they would be used well for every day or even special occasions.  I have had MANY Wet n Wild lippies over the years and these definitely made the “eh” list because I have them so I’ll try to make use of them, but I’m not a fan and don’t think I will be.  If I had to absolutely choose one out of the whole bunch, I think “Coming Up Roses” – the darkest shade in the bunch, would probably be my favorite – though, I wouldn’t exactly use the word “favorite”.  One I know I would be able to make use of is the purple shade – Indigo Your Own Way.  When it comes to the metallic part in that particular lipstick, it lends for the glitter to be more wearable then the rest.

metallic liquid lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, lipsticks, wet n wild, wet n wild color icon metallic liquid lipsticks, metallic liquid lipsticks, wet n wild, lost in the wild flowers, swatches, beauty, makeup, lips, limited edition collection,

In the packaging, these look like absolutely beautiful colors and I think they are… but for me personally, I think they just were not the right fit.  At under $4.00 each – the price point is nice and I’m sure I’ll figure out a way to make use of them.  Have you tried these yet and if so, what are your thoughts?  If you haven’t, do you think you’ll be checking any of these out.

I have always been a fan of Wet n Wild and I’m really enjoying their new releases I’ve seen hitting the stores lately, but this particular set I think could use some improvements.  Texture, longevity and overall formulation could use some changes and are certainly to be desired.  While this is my opinion of these liquid lipsticks from Wet n Wild, that doesn’t change my general opinion of the brand, and I do still enjoy what WnW offers.

I can’t believe how much the liquid lipstick trend has blew up over the last year.  I have tried so many different brands and have built myself quite an extensive collection of this liquid greatness.  Today, I share with you a company that I have not tried prior to now and one that I have been enjoying.  Move over dry liquid lipsticks and make way for the era of bold and daring color with moisturizing feel and texture.  I introduce to you the Peeks Cosmetics Lip Blasters.

peeks, peeks cosmetics, lip blasters, liquid lipsticks, lipsticks, liquid lip, lip gloss, bold lip color, gorgeous, beauty, makeup, swatches, cosmetics, lip swatches,

Peeks Cosmetics Lip Blasters ($14.00 USD) come in at least 20 different shades from your basic nudes and browns to bold reds and gorgeous shades of the rainbow.  You can even find black and white in the mix of colors they have available.  These fun and funky lip shades are sure to tickle anyone’s love for makeup and provide high intensity lip color in a semi-matte finish.  Each one is moisturizing, which is quite different from your average liquid lipsticks on the market today and they provide long-lasting and vibrant color in just one swipe.  With application you get a light weight formula that applies smoothly and a mint flavor that keeps your mouth looking and feeling kissably fresh all day.

A Cruelty Free, Gluten and Paraben Free product – this liquid lipstick is a bit different then what you are seeing in the market at the moment.  It leaves your lips with a gloss like texture and dries down to a semi-gloss / semi-matte once it’s been on the lips for a while.  I highly suggest you using a lip liner prior to application to keep the liquid in place through the day so you don’t get feathering or travel outside of your lip line and you can also blot the color some after application for longer wear.  Expect transfer with these babies… because they do and can slip off the lips like a traditional gloss and lack the sticky from a traditional gloss so they will come off really easily if not careful.

peeks, peeks cosmetics, lip blasters, liquid lipsticks, lipsticks, liquid lip, lip gloss, bold lip color, gorgeous, beauty, makeup, swatches, cosmetics, lip swatches,

I find that these colors apply very bold and vibrant with one swipe.  However, since the doe foot applicator used to apply the product is smaller than most, it can take a few applications to cover your entire lip.  Reapplying this product is easy because your lips are not dried out like traditional liquid lipsticks that stain and dry down matte.  I found that after eating or drink, reapplying the product is a must and if I’m not eating or drinking I can get a few hours of wear before touching up.

Left to Right: Popularity, Purple Kisses, Mystery, Delicious

As you can tell from the swatches below – most of the color is bold and vibrant without streaking.  Application on these is like dealing with a thin liquid, so it really makes blotting your lips or puckering your lips easy and you don’t have to worry about that sticky feel you can get or bunching from traditional liquid lipsticks.  I highly suggest that if you have naturally dry lips that you still exfoliate because certain colors (like the pink and purple) can settle into the lines of your lips and leave them looking dry even if the finish and texture of this product is glossy.

peeks, peeks cosmetics, lip blasters, liquid lipsticks, lipsticks, liquid lip, lip gloss, bold lip color, gorgeous, beauty, makeup, swatches, cosmetics, lip swatches,

If you are looking to tone down the bright colors like Popularity and Purple Kisses you can simply blend in a warm brown lip liner or lipstick.  Something like Milani’s Color Statement lip liner in Spice will help to warm up the tone of those shades and make them a tad bit more wearable.  With Delicious – the deep brown Lip Blaster, you could add a light brown or cream brown shade to soften up the brown to make that more wearable.  One suggestion would be NYX’s Liquid Suede lip cream in Tea & Cookies blended with Delicious from Peeks to create a gorgeous mauve toned brown.

If you are looking at trying something new and are into the liquid lipstick craze, but you’re tired of the dry lips that those lipsticks can leave you… then I highly suggest checking Peeks Cosmetics Lip Blasters out.  These products are so cool and comfortable in texture and really leave your lips feeling moisturized with a vibrant punch of color.  Remember that while these have wonderful pigment, are bright and bold – they do have movement and can wipe off and transfer – so this is definitely not husband kiss approved (lol).  The gloss look can really offer your lips a hydrated and juicy look and the gloss look stays through out the wear.  If you blot your lips some, they still look a little wet – though they feel so comfortable on, you would probably think you have a liquid like lip balm on your lips.

Have you heard of Peeks Cosmetics before or their Lip Blasters?  If so – what colors have your tried or have you seen and if not, what do you think about them.  I really want to try some of the nude shades to see how I’ll like those and have my eyes set on: Caramel Latte, Diva and Silver Belles (a fun silver shade for makeup looks).  I think that the products are nice and I’m overall impressed with the quality as well as the wear.  You can’t beat a lipstick that feels good on the lips.

Let’s face it, when it comes to beauty, everyone is looking for that “quick fix” product or the new trend in beauty.  I’m always looking for products that help enhance my features and I think I found one that I like.  Today I introduce you to Sublime Lips by Cheeky Physique.  A great way to get your pucker noticed with a product that offers fast results and a hydrating, feel-good formula.

sublime lips, cheeky physique, lip plumper, lip gloss, manuka honey, review, beauty, lips, lip gloss plumper, all natural beauty,

This awesome little tube of lip gloss goodness includes Sublime Lips ($25 USD – 0.34 fl.oz / 10 mL), a Manuka Honey Lip Plumper that literally takes your natural pout to the next level with its high impact combo of nourishing Manuka honey and advanced lip plumping ingredients.  You get fast results and a hydrating feel on the lips without the sticky that you would expect from a traditional gloss.

You can use Sublime Lips alone for a natural look or you can top your favorite lip color and add a little vavoom to your lips.  I love using Sublime Lips on its own but find that if I want to take my favorite matte lipsticks to a whole new level, topping them with these lip plumper will give them that little extra something.  When using this product, I find that you instantly get a tingly feeling on the lips – but it’s a cooling sensation vs. a burning sensation like other lip plumpers offer.  As you feel the cooling sensation – the circulation in your lips is gently being increased.  Within a few short minutes the lips will appear fuller and more defined.

This product (while does look a bit pink) is colorless and long lasting.  The formula has a great sweet honey scent, but it not overpowering at all for those who are sensitive to fragrance.  I love that it is not sticky and I can rub my lips together consistently (as I like to do) and it feels comfortable on.

sublime lips, cheeky physique, lip plumper, lip gloss, manuka honey, review, beauty, lips, lip gloss plumper, all natural beauty,

Packaging is simple, but cute.  I love the pink that adorns it and the standard doe foot applicator makes applying the product onto the lips a breeze.  I like to keep my tube in my purse to apply on the go.  Because Sublime Lips is not sticky, it makes the perfect moisturizer for my lips while giving me a natural plump look.

Clinical tests for key ingredient HilurlipTM (a proprietary blend of hyaluronic acid and tripeptide-1) demonstrated the following results:

  • Lips achieved up to a 30% increase in fullness after 30 days. (A 9.2% increase was the average.)
  • 85% of participants noticed a volumizing effect.*
  • 70% experienced anti-aging and rejuvenating effects.*
  • 100% were satisfied with the moisturizing and emollient effects.*

*Self assessment by 20 women after 30 days.

Sublime Lips by Cheeky Physique includes key ingredients like: Manuka Honey (an ingredient that is packed with antioxidants, it’s the ideal ingredient to hydrate, nourish and protect the lips), Hyaluronic Acid (Sublime Lips contains hyaluronic acid microspheres that swell when they come in contact with skin moisture, hydrating and plumping the lips) and Tripeptide-1 (a natural ingredient that supports natural collagen production for visible volume enhancement.  Tripeptide-1 also helps protect skin cells from signs of aging for smoother, younger, sexier-looking lips.)

Since I have naturally full lips, I didn’t think that this product would do much in helping to plump them.  But after the first use of Sublime Lips, I noticed that my lips not only looked juicier but smoother.  And, what I love about this product is that while it has a gloss effect, my husband will still kiss me because it doesn’t feel sticky like a traditional gloss.  It has a little bit of tack to it – but overall feels like a lip oil with a little more body.

Above are my lips taken before applying Sublime Lips.  My lips have been exfoliated but do not have any lip balm on them.  This image was taken with my phone and has been cropped, but not edited.  You can see the fine lines in my lips and lack of definition.  I might also add that this photograph was taken right before applying sublime lips and first thing in the morning after my morning skin care routine.

sublime lips, cheeky physique, lip plumper, lip gloss, manuka honey, review, beauty, lips, lip gloss plumper, all natural beauty,

Above are my lips after applying Sublime Lips.  My lips have had the product on for about 30 seconds and the tingling and cooling (while I can still feel them) are not as prominent.   Not only do my lips look glossy, but they look and feel hydrated, have increased in volume some what and look moisturized.  The lip line where my cupid’s bow is has plumped up some and doesn’t look as dark – leaving my lips looking smooth and juicy.

While the tingling does go away (and again, it is not that strong), I find that you still have a slight mint like feel to the lips until you remove the product.  With eating or drinking, Sublime Lips will come off but reapplying the product is not difficult and it doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky or weird when the product is removed.  I absolutely love that this plumper includes Hyaluronic Acid, as it is a product I use daily on my skin and I can totally feel and notice the difference with this additive in Sublime Lips.

Have you tried anything from Cheeky Physique before or have you heard of the brand?  What about Sublime Lips?  When it comes to lip plumpers, I’m very particular and tend to not use them because I don’t like that they can burn, but I was very impressed with Sublime Lips.  Do you think this is something you could check out for yourself?  If you are interested in purchasing Sublime Lips or other products from Cheeky Physique you can visit their site here.

Now, it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Jordana Cosmetics.  While I haven’t tried every single thing sold by the brand, I love and enjoy many of the products that they offer like their Easyliner for eyes and lips, their Modern Matte Lipsticks, 12 Hour Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencils (absolute favorite) and Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara (hands down holy grail product), to name a few.  Jordana’s products are not only affordable, but they really are well made.  If you’ve been following me a while, you may have seen the 12 Hour Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencils and Best Lash Extreme in various looks and tutorials over the last several years.

Recently, I walked into my local Walgreens and much to my amazement I seen a Jordana display in the “new products section” with goodies I needed to get my hands on.  I was a bit bummed as I really didn’t see these talked about much yet (where have I been lately, huh? lol) and the display was a bit picked through already, leaving me with three colors of the new Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color and two colors of the Made to Last Liquid Eyeshadow.  Today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on each of these, swatches and more – so read on if you’re interested in the details.  Not into reading today?  Don’t worry – I also have a video you can watch that details all of the same stuff so you can watch that video here.

The first product set I’m going to talk about is the Jordana Made to Last Liquid Eyeshadows (Net. wt. 0.23 oz / 6.5g).  These liquid eye shadows come in at least six different neutral type shades (by neutral I mean shades in brown hues, golds, champagnes and bronze).  They retail on Jordana’s website for $4.99 but I did buy mine for $3.99 at my local Walgreens.  These interesting eye shadows have a smooth liquid feel that really melts onto the lid and are saturated with vibrant, show stopping color.  Each shade that I have seen so far has a metallic / shimmery look to them which Jordana states that each shadow is decorated with light-reflecting pearls.  Jordana says that these are stay-all-day shadow that is crease-proof and water resistant.

These liquid eye shadows have an interesting applicator.  The shape reminds me of that of an arrow head but I was amazed at how nicely it applied, with it’s pointed tip I was able to get product into my inner corner of my eye with ease.  The formula of the eyeshadow is very liquid like but blendable.  It’s creamy but still has more of a liquid like texture over cream and I really like that it has a built in applicator.  Honestly, I love the color range and love how easy it is to not only apply but perfect for applying your eyeshadow on the go.   Jordana states that this is crease-proof and water-resistant, but I honestly didn’t experience such.  I must apply a light layer to keep from the product creasing (even over eye shadow primer) and it didn’t seem water resistant to me because when my eyes teared, glitter got everywhere.  This does offer quite a bit of glitter left behind on the eye and while it didn’t hurt or bother my sensitive eyes as all (it is a nice cosmetic grade type of glitter – small and doesn’t hurt the eye) I figured I would let you know.

The colors I got were Dusk Till Bronze (05) and Immortal Metal (03).  Each of these shades is gorgeous and really make for a stunning combination on the eye.  While I did get creasing when using this product, I found that the lighter the application (maybe using a synthetic eye shadow brush) will help with that issue.  But using directly out of the tube with the included applicator is a bit hard to work with the product since so much comes out on the applicator at first.  I still really enjoy these products and plan to make much more use out of them… since they are perfect for days when I want to put on makeup and a little sparkle, but need to be quick.  These are convenient and very very pigmented in one swipe.  At the price point, I think they are surely worth checking them out and I plan to pick up a few more shades.

Do you consider yourself more of a lippy lover than an eyeshadow addict?  Well then, let’s talk about the Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color (Net. Wt. 0.11oz / 3g) which retails for $4.99 on Jordana’s website and I purchased mine at Walgreens for the same price.  The website shows that there are 12 colors available and I picked up three (very bold) shades to try out.  These liquid lip colors are pretty interesting in that they not only have a sweet scent to them, but the ones I have literally smell like their respective names.  I don’t think they have much of a flavor to them on the lips though.  These lip colors start off as a liquid when applied to your pout and melt and dry down into a matte finish.  It feels really nice on the lips, not drying as I would have expected from a liquid lipstick that is under $5.00.  It feels mousse and cream like when applied to the lips and I love that they are infused with a drop of Vitamin A to keep them comfortable while wearing.  They do dry down matte but I still find that they don’t settle into the lines of my lips as much as other liquid lipsticks do.

The applicator that comes with the liquid lip color has an interesting curve to it – which oddly makes application a lot easier than I thought it would.  It hugs the lips nicely and spreads the color fairly evenly in one swipe.  You get kapow and bam color in one swipe and what I love about this liquid lipstick is that you can easily layer the color without funky bunching or odd looking pigmentation like other liquid lipsticks can do.  It can take about a minute for the lipstick to dry down to a matte finish depending on the thickness of the coats you applied to your lips but I don’t find that it bothers me much.

The only colors that were available in the display at my local Walgreens were Mango Sorbet (05), Raspberry Tart (03) and Mixed Berry Souffle (04) which were the shades I picked up.  They are quite bold as you can see from the swatches above.  Each swatch is one swipe of the wand onto my hand and as you can see they are very pigmented and have high saturated color.  These are said to be a waterproof formula and I do notice that they will last on my lips for hours.  If I don’t really eat or drink anything, I could easily get 8 hours of wear time… if I do drink or eat (especially if oily) the color may fade slightly or may start to come off a bit on the insides of my lips, but ultimately – the wear still looks fairly even and not funky like other lip colors can do.  Oh – did I mention reapplying?  That is one thing I love about this lip color… reapplying is great.  You can easily go back, reapply color in the parts it wore off and it looks like a fresh new coat… no funky bleeding, blending or anything of the sort like you can expect from a traditional liquid lip color.  There is no balling up or cracking and definitely not weird discoloration so I’m really loving this.

I’m definitely looking to pick up more shades and I hope Jordana has a plethora available at local stores soon.  These liquid lip colors are really comfortable on the lips once they dry down and I love the feel of them.  They offer great coverage on the lips, bright pigmentation and I can’t wait to get my hands on more colors soon.

Overall – I’m quite impressed with both the Jordana Made to Last Liquid Eyeshadows and the Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Colors.  Considering the price point, you could easily collect all of the shades and have yourself a grand time with each.  If you had to choose between the shadow and the lipsticks, I say go for the lipsticks – both work well but the lipsticks… Jordana really hit it out of the ball park with this one… they are phenomenal.  I have a liquid lipstick collection of probably over 40 from different brands both affordable and highend and I’m loving loving these from Jordana.  For an affordable product, I like that they still offer quality.  Each product is Made in the USA which is awesome and Jordana is a cruelty-free brand.  I hope Jordana comes out with many more shades of both and that they are permanent items in their line because I’ll be sure to collect them all.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Milani so I tend to stock the site and my local stores for new products consistently.  About a month or so ago I came across a display for some products that I had been eyeing from the website that were recently released – so I decided I would pick them up to try them out.  Ultimately – like with any type of product, what may work (or not work) for me, may or may not for others, so I figured I would share my experience on them.  Today I bring to you my thoughts on the Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment, Milani Lash Trifecta Mascara and the Milani Length in Seconds Lash Extension Fibers.  If you are not in the reading mood – you can check out my video where I explain my thoughts, here.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

Let’s start with the Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment in 01 Moisturizing Almond Coco which retails on Milani’s website for $8.49.  I got mine at Walgreens for $6.99 or $7.99 (sorry – I lost the receipt and couldn’t remember the cost).  I was immediately attracted to these because I cleanse and moisturize with oil nightly so I thought this would be a great option for daily use as well as on the go (since carrying a tub of coconut oil with me in my purse was not an option).  The lip treatment comes in 8 different types of oil treatment and has a Net. Wt. of 0.10 oz / 2.85 g which is a good amount of product and perfect for the on-the-go option.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

This lip treatment includes a scent (specifically a sweet coconut for the one I selected) and is formulated with Jojoba, Avocado and Tsubaki Oil.  Each shade is infused with a different nutrient-dense oil to treat a specific concern – the almond/coconut being that it  helps with moisture.  The applicator is really cool and unique.  It’s soft and much larger than your standard doe foot applicator, but applies evenly and nicely to the lips.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

What I love is that while there is some tact to the actual formula of the product, it is not sticky at all and really glides onto the lips, leaving them moisturized for house thereafter.  There is a shine to your lips which make this perfect for days when you want a natural look as this particular one doesn’t have any color.  Did I mention is smells wonderful?  I absolutely love the fragrance from this product – not overpowering at all but leaves a hint of scent while applying.  My lips feel soft, moisturized and overall hydrated for the rest of the day and I love that the packaging of this product makes it so easy to use and take with you.  I’ll be buying more of these in different shades/types really soon.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

The Lash Trifecta Mascara retails for $7.99 and helps to lengthen, curl and separate per the claims from Milani.  This mascara separates each lash using a curved 3-sided sculpting brush that adapts to your lash line.  It has special conditioning ingredients in the mascara formula that make the lashes feel soft – never brittle.  With the use of this product, your lashes will appear longer and fuller and offer clump-free wear.  The lash brush works well in coating each and every lash – including my really small ones that most mascara wands tend to miss.  The formula seems to coat each lash well too.  I like that the wand is on the thinner side allowing me to really get to the base of my lashes for good volume at the root.

New Milani Cosmetics 2016 - Moisture Lock Lip Treatment, Lash Trifecta Mascara and Length In Seconds Lash Extension Fibers

Overall – I think this is an okay mascara.  I have never really had any luck with Milani mascaras in the past, but liked how similar this mascara wand was to that of one of my favorite high end products.  The formula in my opinion is mousse like and applies nicely – though like most mascaras, the first several uses are a little too wet to my liking for my teeny tiny lashes.  The brush is interesting in that some of the parts of the brush are a little sharp or pokey like and rushing when applying this mascara is not ideal… taking your time will allow for you to use the brush properly without poking your eye.  Once the formula dried a little, I noticed it applied nicely and did pretty okay.  Since I have short lashes, I wouldn’t say it gave me a lot of length or volume, but I do love that my lashes are really soft (no matter how many coats I use) and I definitely didn’t have issues with clumps.  Also – it really doesn’t smudge or move through the day unless my eyes are watery… then I’m a raccoon. lol  The formula is a plain mousse black which makes it ideal for every day use – there’s no shine to it.  I’m still on the fence as to whether I would repurchase this mascara again.  I think that it is pretty okay – but doesn’t quite wow me like some other mascaras from the drugstore.  I like it – but don’t love it.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

The Length in Seconds Lash Extension Fibers is something you don’t see very often at the drugstore.  Retailing for $7.99 this product is Vegan and is tiny little white fibers that help give you that false lashes look.  I have pretty tiny lashes, so products like these seem to be ideal for someone like me, but often times, I think they just don’t work as well as I would like.  To apply, simply apply one coat of your favorite mascara to your lashes and then brush the Length in Seconds Lash Extension Fibers onto your wet lash tips.  Finish off the look with a second coat of mascara to seal in the fibers.  I found that I really had to be selective with the lash fibers in the type of brush and formula I used to get optimum results.  The fibers really are abundant, so sometimes if the mascara is not wet enough – they do not stick and can fall on my cheeks or into my eyes.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

Applying this product can take some time and a little finesse which is something I’m not particular fond of.  If it gets into my eyes – it causes my eyes to tear and even if I’m able to get it out, by that time my eyes are ruined and I really can’t salvage the makeup look.  I make sure that when I am applying this product that my eyes are not sensitive that day and I take my time when putting it on.  I like the concept of it and with the right mascara it really can give me a nice full look.  I find however that most fiber extension products like this one, because my lashes are so small, that it doesn’t give me huge benefits like a plain mascara can because there really isn’t enough lashes to grab onto.  While it tends to stay in place most of the day and doesn’t really flake off, I find that it can really irritate my eyes if my peepers are watery that day and can cause a mess.

Overall – I’m not sure if this product is right for me.  I’ll continue to use it because it’s affordable and I like to make use of the product – but I’m not sure that I’ll repurchase it.  Who knows, after a few weeks or months of continued use of this product, I may find a way to make it work and may end up changing my mind.

Milani Cosmetics, Moisture Lock, Lash Trifecta, Mascara, lip oil treatment, length in seconds lash extension fibers, lash fibers, eyes, lip oil, makeup, beauty, product review,

The photo above shows what my lashes are like before “without any makeup, mascara, etc.) and then what it looks like with the mascara (2 coats) and with the mascara and the lash fibers (two coats mascara, one coat lash fibers).  The mascara only and then mascara with fibers were done on two different days so that I was not layering on additional product.  As you can see, the mascara holds well on its own without the lash fibers and once I apply the lash fibers they really make my lashes stand out much more.  I don’t necessarily think I need them but it works for what it does.  I do think that the lash fibers work better with some of my thicker mascara wands however and a wetter mascara formula.

Overall – as I mentioned above, I know I’ll be adding more of the Moisture Lock lip treatments from Milani to my collection in the future.  I’m really enjoying the one I have and I’m about to run out soon.  I still have some use left for the Lash Trifecta Mascara and the Length in Seconds Lash Extension Fibers so after using it a little longer, I may change my mind and decide I do like them.  Sometimes even after a while of using a product, with a little trial and error and rediscovery – you may change your mind and decide something that wasn’t great at one time, became a hidden gem.

So what about you, have you tried any of these products before?  If so – what are your thoughts on these products?  If not, are there any you are interested in getting?  You can pick up these products and so much more at Milanicosmetics.com or your local drugstores that carry the brand.  I’m super excited to find Milani at my local Walmart now – woohoo!

A few months ago I shared with you my thoughts on a product from Farmacy Beauty – The New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains.  Since then, it has become a favorite of mine and I enjoy utilizing the product in my skin care regimen.  Today, I share with you some products that I have also been using from Farmacy Beauty and my thoughts on each.  I have a video on YouTube with my first impressions and open box sharing my initial thoughts on the items which you can watch here, but I also have my thoughts on these products after using them for a few weeks.

Farmacy Beauty: Farmer Cultivated, Scientist Activated For Fresh Radiant Skin

I had the awesome opportunity of receiving a Limited Edition Farmacy Beauty box and boy was I not only excited but also looking forward to trying out more products from a brand that I instantly fell in love with.  After trying the New Day Exfoliating Grains cleanser (you can read my thoughts about this product here), I couldn’t contain the excitement when I received the box in the mail.  With sensitive skin – I have overall enjoyed what I did try from Farmacy and I’m also quite impressed with the goodies I tried in this box as well.

Farmacy Beauty, Sephora, Green Beauty, Farmacy, skin care,

Included in this box I received the following:

Farmacy Beauty, Sephora, Green Beauty, Farmacy, skin care, Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm, Lip blooms,

New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains: ($30.00) (read my original review on this product here)  This powder like cleanser is formulated to cleanse, exfoliate and clarify your skin all in one easy step.  It’s perfect for any day or a long day and leaves my skin feeling so clean, but without stripping it’s natural moisture.  My skin feels like it’s been pampered and like I spent the day getting a facial without feeling the harsh effects that my sensitivities would normally experience.  While I don’t use this product daily – I only use about once a week, it is the perfect product for pampering and I love it.

Farmacy Beauty, Sephora, Green Beauty, Farmacy, skin care, Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm

Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm: ($48.00)  I wasn’t sure how I would like this product but lately I think I’ve been loving things that have a green hue to them.  Since I have naturally dry skin, I really was looking forward to this balm to help renew my skin through the night.  This balm helps to not only renew my skin but it’s lightweight and transforms into a gentle oil like gel.  It reinforces the skin’s natural moisture content and aids in firmness and tone as well as helping to restore the elasticity of your skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  Since I oil cleanse and moisturize as night – this firming night balm works perfectly in keeping the moisture in.  I suffer from really dry skin during the winter, especially near my nose since my allergies can be bad and when I concentrate this night balm in those areas, over a few days, I noticed that the dryness reduced dramatically.  I also enjoy using this on a few areas on my elbows that get really dry because it makes the skin soft and plump again.

Farmacy Beauty, Sephora, Green Beauty, Farmacy, skin care, hydrating coconut gel mask, gel mask, facial mask,

Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask – Anti Wrinkle: ($24.00 for 3 masks) I don’t use sheet masks very often, because they never seem to fit my face properly, but I was very excited to try this particular mask out.  Since I’m primarily a mud mask using, I’m always excited to see how certain products live up to my use.  Applying the mask was interesting, and leaving it on for 20-25 minutes was a challenge so I spent most of that time laying down to keep the mask in place.  But my face felt absolutely soft and plump and after just that one use, I knew it would be a part of my skin care regimen.  I am in the process of purchasing a box of these because my skin felt really hydrated and moisturized after using just one.  I was very impressed indeed

Farmacy Beauty, Sephora, Green Beauty, Farmacy, skin care, Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm, Lip blooms,

Lip Blooms (Lavender Mint & Citrus Lemongrass): $16.50 each – I am a lippy lover and lip balm is something I use daily so I have been intrigued and interested in trying the Farmacy Beauty Lip Blooms since I first seen them a few months ago.  These herb infused balms are in a gorgeous little pot and help to form a protective barrier on the lips, leaving them smoother, softer and fuller.  They pack great ingredients in this moisture replenishing and protective lip treatment.  Since we all know I’m a lover of sweet vanilla and sugar scents and flavors, I had wondered how I would like these and I LOVE THEM.   The have a sweet (but not sickening sweet) scent and flavor with a slight infusion of earthy to them.  Since my lips are the most chapped and dry during the winter months I have been using these daily and find my lips are kissably soft all day long (definitely husband approved).  My husband doesn’t like to kiss sticky or funky flavored lip balms or lip products and he even commented to say that this one was nice (as in both of the flavors I got).  While it has a slight herbal scent, it really doesn’t transition into the flavor or taste of the balm.  I apply these at night before bed and wake up with soft juicy lips the next morning.  I seriously found a love in these and I know they will easily be a favorite for a long time – I plan to get all of them, they come in six different flavors/scents.  They don’t have any color to them so they will be perfect to wear on top or below your favorite lip products or on its own.

I am a body butter nut, especially during the winter months when my skin is so dry and I need the added moisture and protection.  I have tried many products over the years and I surely have my list of favorites when it comes to body butters.  But, recently I had the opportunity to try the Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter in Tupelo Honey and I wanted to share it with all of you.  Let’s face it – I’m a sucker with anything that has honey or the word “honey” in it – for obvious reasons, of course – but I was intrigued by this body butter because it also includes Royal Jelly which is known to be a nutrient-rich and precious ingredient of the  bee hive.  Having loved products with this additive, I knew I had to try it.  I featured this product on my Holiday Gift Guide – Stocking Stuffers and figured it was so good it needed it’s own little feature here.

Soft and Smooth Winter Skin With Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter

The Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter comes in three different formulas – Original, Sensitive Skin and Tupelo Honey.  Each cute little jar (I love the honey pot shape) comes in two sizes – Full Size (6.7 oz/190g – $24.70) and Mini Size (1.65 oz/48g – $12.90).  I got the Tupelo Honey formula in the mini size which is made with fresh tupelo blossom fragrance and soft hints of vanilla and lemon.  The super rich formula combines royal jelly and other hive treasures as well as skin quenching butters and essential oils to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth.

Soft and Smooth Winter Skin With Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter

So what’s so great about this “Royal Jelly” that I keep mentioning?  Well, Savannah Bee Company commonly uses four different hive ingredients their their health and beauty product line including – honey, beeswax, propolis and royal jelly.  Honey is a natural cleanser and skin softener, beeswax protects the skin and prevents water loss and propolis is known for its antibiotic and antiseptic qualities.  Royal jelly is a substance secreted from the glands near the head region of work bees.  It is thought of as a combination baby food and queen food.  Honeybee larvae (baby bees) are fed royal jelly for the first few days of their lives.  It’s a heavy dose of mega nutrition to the young bees off on the right foot.  When it comes to the future queen bee – that story gets a bit interesting.  The worker bees begin the process of “growing” a new queen by completely filling a special cell in the comb called a queen cell with royal jelly.   The larvae selected to be the future queen spends her early days literally swimming in royal jelly.  At this point she is genetically identical to all other work bee larvae but it is a fact that her prolonged feeding of royal jelly initiates her genetic transformation into the Queen!  The queen is then fed royal jelly the remainder of her life, which is quite long by worker bee standards.  This awesome jelly transforms her into the queen phenotype (body type) and the miraculous secretion allows this individual to live up to five years compared to the eight month average lifespan of a typical worker bee.  Royal Jelly is mostly water – but it’s very nutritious.  It contains a fair amount of protein, trace minerals and vitamins (particularly high levels of B vitamins) and is the key ingredient in several of the health and beauty products offered at Savannah Bee Company.

Soft and Smooth Winter Skin With Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter

I know that lesson was a bit long winded, but I felt it was necessary.  We hear and read that products on the market include this royal jelly but we have no idea why or for what reason and it’s kind of cool to read and learn that the “Queen Bee” has her own little fountain of youth.  They say Royal Jelly is a “Cinderella” substance that turns a worker bee into a Queen and allows her to live 40 times longer than the  average bee as a result.  This amazing substance is surely worth focusing some on and I wanted to share this with you.  The awesome substance is known for its nourishing and deep moisturizing properties as well as its ability to promote skin’s elasticity and smooth appearance.  It’s a great additive in the Savannah Bee Body Butter because it leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft but also hydrated and moisturized – especially during the winter season.

Soft and Smooth Winter Skin With Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter

The body butter is rich and thick in texture with a smooth application.  It includes other goodies from the hive like Propolis which helps to add a protective barrier on the skin and Beeswax which is an emollient to help quench dryness and protect skin’s own natural moisture barriers.  Rich and softening Pecan Seed Oil and the natural, delicate scent of it add a great final touch to this wonderful and luxurious product meant for a queen.  Smoothing the product onto the skin feels like a spa experience.  You can feel the oils and ingredients quenching your skin and leaving it smooth.  I love that I can apply this to my hands and feet without the feeling slippery or oily and it really just adds a huge punch of moisture to my skin.

If I had to make one suggestion, it is that the mini pot is a bit of a challenge to get the product out.  I would love to see the opening of the pot a little larger to allow for ease of use, but the body butter is so good – I find a way.  I love the thickness of this body body and as you apply it you literally can feel the moisture in your skin being revived.  It’s pretty darn awesome.

Holiday Gift Guide - Fun Stocking Stuffers

I also had the opportunity to try the Savannah Bee Natural Beeswax and Propolis Lip Balm in Salted Caramel.  Retailing for $6.50 – this awesome lip balm has been a favorite of mine since I got my hands on it and I have been using it religiously.  My lips feel soft and smooth and I love that I haven’t noticed it dry even with my drying liquid lipsticks.  With ingredients like coconut and olive oil, cocoa and hemp seed, this lip balm is never greasy, glides on smoothly and absorbs and protects my lips.  It also includes softening honey, pure propolis and nourishing royal jelly like the body butter. If you love lip balm – you’ll enjoy this one.  I also love the taste on my lips… mmmm caramel.

I am very impressed with Savannah Bee products.  They never test on animals and do not have petroleum-based ingredients.  All of their products are free of parabens and preservatives.  Their beeswax is organic and the products really feel good on the skin.  I can’t wait to try more products from this line.  Recently while in Target I stumbled upon the Savannah Bee display so you can find some of their products there or via their website.

Have you heard of Savannah Bee Company before?  I’m quite impressed with the products I have tried and I think you may like them too.

Yves Saint Laurent is one of those brands that are true and dear to my heart and still satisfies that luxurious craving I have within my soul.  How can one resist the beautiful gold packaging and rich hues that YSL creates?  Let’s face it, I will do a hop, skip and a jump when I have any of YSL’s products in my hands and treasure the brand and all they have to offer as one of my favorites.  Today I want to share with you two gorgeous shades from the YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick line – Rose Stiletto and Fuchsia.  Let’s have a look-see and satisfy that gold craving!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture - Rose Stiletto and Fuchsia

When Influenster sent me the happy email that I was included in this recent YSL Influenster Voxbox – I was excited and filled with joy.  I haven’t tried any lipsticks from this particular line of YSL so I was very intrigued and counted the days when the box arrived on my doorstep.  That black box adorned with YSL logo finally arrived and I was beyond giddy like a school girl about to pass her crush in the halls.  I opened the box and was a bit disappointed to find that the Fuchsia lipstick was mooshed in the tube but so excited to see the tubes in their gorgeous glory.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture - Rose Stiletto and Fuchsia

YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Fuchsia is a gorgeous bold pink shade.  While I think some people can pull it off year round, this color would be my choice for the Spring and Summer months.  I think it feels wonderful on the lips, glides on with ease and is a showstopping shade that will surely turn heads in a flash.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture - Rose Stiletto and Fuchsia

YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Rose Stiletto is my favorite of the two I received.  It’s a gorgeous dusty mauve pink that I could wear in place of my basic brown nudes when I want a little something different.  I love that this shade is easy to wear with a variety of looks and like Fuchsia it is comfortable on the lips and feels creamy and great on.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture - Rose Stiletto and Fuchsia

The Rouge Pur Couture line comes in a wide range of colors – over 40 different shades to choose from.  Retailing for $32.00 (3.8g / 0.13 oz.) each tube comes adorned in the gold YSL packaging and a stamp of the logo directly on the lipstick bullet.  Like most YSL lipsticks, these feel wonderful and hydrating on the lips and come with a gorgeous satin finish that leave your lips feeling moisturized and comfortable.  These shades come packed with a punch of color – one stroke and you get rich shades with intense hydration and antioxidant care for your puckers.  With about 4 hours of wear time on my lips, I think these are such a great luxury choice, especially if you love gold as I do and have a thing for packaging.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture - Rose Stiletto and Fuchsia

If I had to make one notation – it is that the packaging specifically for these lipsticks feel a lot lighter than what I am used to with some of the other lippies from YSL.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I expected the tube to be sturdy in feel, heavy and it is much lighter than I would have thought.

Have you tried these lipsticks yet?  If not – are they on your crush list?  Comment below and let me know what you think of these beauties.

The matte lip is all the rave and trend right now and that includes the liquid to matte lipsticks that we are seeing from different brands.  While each of them have similar formulations, I can’t help but enjoy the ones I try since it allows me to go without touching up all day.  A few months ago, Milani (my favorite drugstore brand) came out with the Amore Matte Lip Cremes.  I got my hands on four of them so I figured I would share them with you should you be wondering how they worked for me.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme - Liquid to Matte Lipsticks

The Milani Amore Matte Lip Creams come in eight different shades at the moment – though I am sure Milani may be adding to this list of liquid lipsticks eventually.  You get a pretty nice variety of shades from very light and wearable nudes to deep dark vampy reds that are showstopping and perfect for the Fall season.  Each liquid lipstick retails for $8.99 on Milanicosmetics.com but I’m sure they can be found a bit cheaper at your local Walgreens where available.  I ordered one of the shades online and haven’t been able to locate a display at any of my local stores to date.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme - Liquid to Matte Lipsticks
Left – 02 Adore, Right – 04 Lust

The Amore Matte Lip Cremes have that liquid-to-matte formula that has been coveted by many lately.  It dries to a soft, velvet like finish and really gives your lips that fuller look.  If you are familiar with the Brilliant Shine Lip Glosses from Milani, these liquid lipsticks have the same double-sided, flexible plush applicator which I actually enjoy because it applies nicely to my pretty full lips.  Each one has a sweet sugar/vanilla scent which makes application enjoyable – I love it.

Out of the four shades I have I am really loving the darker ones – Crush & Flirt.  Crush applied so easily, though because it is so dark, with any type of oily food, it starts to really fade and can leave that ring on the inside of your mouth.  Flirt is a gorgeous berry red that will be my go-to for this Fall Season.  Adore and Lust are really nice too – but I truly fancy the darker shades at the moment.  I’m sure during Spring and Summer I’ll pull for Adore & Lust more.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme - Liquid to Matte Lipsticks
Left – 01 Crush, Right – 08 Flirt

While most liquid lipsticks dry to a matte finish and can be drying on the lips – I was pretty impressed with the texture of my lips with these on.  Most of the shades I own (I have four of them) apply pretty evenly, though I thought Lust was the one that I needed to work with to really get the best application.  Was it enough to sway my opinion and dislike the product?  No, because after a little fixing, I was able to get it to work for me without issue.  These lipsticks take about a minute to two minutes to dry on me… but I think it depends on the weather.  During the summer months I found that it remained tacky up to 5 minutes before it actually set.  Now that Fall is here and the days are a little cooler, the colors set on my lips within a minute and are locked into place for several hours through the day.  All of the shades I own have an opaque color on the lips when set and dry and I can get approximately 6-7 hours of wear time before I feel the need to reapply.  If I am eating anything oily (like my favorite food, pizza) – of course, it will start to fade and in some cases, I’ll need to touch up.  But – I can kiss my hubby without any transfer which also makes these “HUBBY APPROVED!”

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme - Liquid to Matte Lipsticks

Considering the price point and the fact that this is from a Drugstore brand, I think they are really nice and I enjoy them.  My goal is to collect all eight so that I have a selection to choose from when dressing up my pout.  I would love to see Milani create many different shades as they have with their Color Statement Lipsticks – purples, plum nudes and dusty rose pinks are all of my favorite types of shades, but an orange and mauves would be great hits as well.  Overall – I am loving what I tried so far and I think they are a great addition to one of my favorite brands.

Have you tried these yet?  Have you been able to spot them at your local stores?  With the price point and the brand, I think these could definitely be a hit.

It’s been quite a few years since I last used anything from Borghese, so I was quite excited to check out their new Elissare Collection and give it a test drive.  This collection of goodies is a wonderful roll out for the new year, providing a new sleek look with gorgeous shades for anyone one and any skin tone.  Check out my thoughts on these products below as well my video review which you can find here.

Borghese Elissare Color Eclipse Shadow & Light Luminous Eye Palette

The Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette (0.75 oz / 21.3g) is the first of the goodies I tried out and enjoyed.  It includes 12 gorgeous neutral and wearable shades in one chic palette along with a dual ended eye shadow brush.  This palette retails for $55.00 on the Borghese website and is perfect for those who travel or just anyone looking for an every day or glam look. Each color is labeled on the palette (which I love) so there is no guessing the name and there are a variety of textures.

Bask – a light, warm-toned creamy-beige with a satin-matte finish.

Afterglow – a warm-toned medium-beige with a highly metallized.

Pulse – a warm-toned, soft-peach, highly metallized.

Veil – a cool neutral soft-brown with a satin-matte finish.

Borghese Eclissare

Muse – a burnished gold with brown undertones, highly metallized.

Ascend – a light, soft-tan with yellow undertones, satin-matte finish.

Wane – a rich medium brown with warm undertones, satin-matte finish.

Impact – a medium rose-copper, highly metallized.

Borghese Eclissare

Downfall – a dark brown with depth, matte finish.

Out There – a medium pewter, highly metalized.

Shroud – a deep charcoal-grey with blue undertones, highly metallized.

Immortal – a deep charcoal-black with subtle silver glitter

Borghese Eclissare

Out of all the shades, Immortal is probably the one shade that is not my favorite.  Though I would not call this shade a dud, due to its texture, the deep black may require you to build up the color.  Still pigmented and pretty, this would be a great outer v or crease shade.

Borghese Elissare Color Eclipse Shadow & Light Luminous Eye Palette

This palette may intrigue some in that it does look a bit similar to the Urban Decay Naked Original.  While the shades are similar, the textures are a bit different and therefore I think they are very different altogether.  I am however impressed with the color range and similarities… both palettes offer buttery, silky shades and the Borghese Shadow & Light Luminous Eye Palette definitely offers great quality.

Borghese vs Urban Decay

Overall, if you are looking for a palette that offers a luxury look and feel as well as something you can use daily if you are into neutrals or smoky eye looks… I think this would be a nice buy.  The eye shadow brush is nice, offering you one side to pack on your shades and the other side to blend.  This palette is a little up there with regard to cost, but anyone familiar with the Borghese brand knows of their quality and the palette itself is sturdy, well made and really offers great protection with travel.

Borghese Makeup look

Next up on the list of goodies are the Borghese mini palettes from the same collection.  Five Shades of Sultry Eye Shadow is a gorgeous palette offering five smoky shades to create a stunning and show stopping look.  Retailing for $29.00 – this little palette is travel friendly, compact and comes in similar packaging to its larger sister palette the Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette (that I discussed previously).

Borghese Five Shades of Sultry Eye Shadow

Each shade is labeled with it’s name (like the larger palette) and offers you a gorgeous array of textures to create that show stopping smoky look.

Lit- a light white-silver metallic pearl.

Vapor- a medium grey, blue overtones, metallic pearl.

Smolder- a dark smoky charcoal, high frost finish.

Fume- true black, matte finish.

Scorch- medium, glitter-laden graphite-grey.

Borghese Five Shades of Sultry Eye Shadow

All of the shades within this palette are absolutely show stopping, with the same buttery and silky feel as the larger palette.  However, Scorch (which is the last shade in the palette) has chunkier reflex than that of a normal metallic shade, so it can have some fall out if not applied carefully and Fume which is the matte black in the palette can apply patchy at times.  I have noticed that I need to build up the shade to get the maximum color payoff.  Ultimately, I think all of the shades are gorgeous and offer such great pigmentation, but those were the shades I did have to work with a little bit.  It happens sometimes and I know that matte blacks can certainly apply patchy with any brand.

Next in the collection is Borghese’s Eclissare Color Eclipse Five Shades of Torrid Eye Shadow Palette.  This palette comes with 0.30 oz / 8.5 g worth of product just as the Five Shades of Sultry Palette.  Same sleek and chic packaging that is also great for travel and compact.  This palette is probably my favorite out of the three and I have been using it to create wearable and smoky eye looks (as seen above).

Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse Five Shades of Torrid Eye Shadow Palette

At first glance this palette looks simple and like any other neutral palette, but I’m quite impressed with some of the shades.  Kindle is such a gorgeous color that I can’t even capture it on camera… offering you a white-taupe like color.  I can’t even explain it… but it’s gorgeous.

Wisp – a light, matte-finish ivory.

Kindle- a soft champagne taupe, satin-pearl finish.

Stoke- a medium brown, warm undertones, matte-finish.

Sear- a deep brown, matte-finish.

Torch- a medium champagne, pink overtones, highly metallized.

Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse Five Shades of Torrid Eye Shadow Palette

While this palette is my favorite out of the three, I did have to put in some work to get the palette to work for me.  It happens sometimes, I have palettes from other brands that have shadows where there is a film or overlay on the shadow that makes it difficult for you to pick up the color at its true pigmentation.  By taking a paper towel and wiping the top of the shades that were not picking up color, I was able to get gorgeous color pay off on shades like Kindle and Torch (the two shades I had difficulty with) and man are they gorgeous.  This palette is one that I think would work for warm and cool skin tones offering a gorgeous neutral makeup look or smoky eye that is an absolute stunner.

Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss

Next up are the lip glosses from the line.  Borghese’s Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Glosses come in nine different shades – I have 8 of them.  All of them equally gorgeous and in an array of shades for any skin tone or complexion.  Each lip gloss retails for $21.50 and have 0.10 oz worth of product.  The glosses have nice pigmentation though some can be sheer against my skin.  This doesn’t bother me much because they make great toppers for my favorite lip sticks.  Each gloss is a little more sticky than I would like it to be… but because of the sticky feeling, I noticed the longevity on my lips was pretty good for a gloss – it lasted about 2-3 hours without touch up if I didn’t each or drink anything.  Most glosses don’t last me 40 minutes.

Eclissare_Lip_Glass_Shade_Swatches_with_names_for_reference__57189.1414440588.1280.1280

The above swatches came directly from Borghese’s website.  I have tried swatching these against my skin tone and lips for quite a while and because of my skintone, I had a hard time picking up the shades on camera.  I thought Borghese’s swatches were right on the money so I’m sharing them with you.  Simmer is one of my favorite glosses in the bunch – offering a gold shift to my lips when topped over my favorite lipsticks.  A few of the glosses can leave behind shimmer on the lips after wiping off, so that is something you’ll want to keep in mind – but overall, they are each gorgeous.

As you can see – this collection from Borghese offers products for anyone whether you are a lippy lover or someone who loves eyeshadows… or both.  I am glad I was able to dive into these new products since I haven’t had the chance to use anything from Borghese for a few years and these definitely got me excited to try other products from the brand again.  I’m quite impressed with the products themselves and I look forward to trying out more from the line.  Have you tried anything from Borghese or the Eclissare line?  Thanks to Borghese, I have a little giveaway of goodies and there will be six lucky winners.  Check out all the details and what you have to do to enter, listed below in the widget.  To purchase these products or to learn more about them, visit: www.borghese.com
