Recently, I had the opportunity to try some a bunch of sunglasses from a new-to-me brand called, Neven.  Stylish, UV Ready and Polarized.  All things we look for in a pair of sunglasses.

As I stated previously, Neven Eyewear is a new-to-me brand, but so far I’ve been absolutely loving the different styles, lens colors and frames that I’ve been able to try.  Check out my YouTube short for a quick run down on my thoughts.

Interested in getting your own pair of Neven Eyewear (or 2 or 3 pairs), check out this link: https://bit.ly/3UbEt9j

Blackberry and Beach Lip Gift Basket Sets

The Blackberry and Beach Gift Sets are a sure hit for anyone on your holiday gifting list.  Each basket set comes with two popular products from FarmHouse Fresh.  They are definitely some of my favorite products from the site (though let’s face it, I love anything and everything from FHF).  Each 2-piece gift set comes in a farm basket and is ready to be gifted as is, or add a pretty bow on top.  Priced at $30, these sets are 96-99% natural and gluten-free.  The sets include their yummy polish to scrub away and smooth your lips (perfect for winter weather) and their scrumptious lip balm, an absolute must-have for any lip balm lover.

Juicy purple vibes.  The Blackberry Gift Set includes a lip polish to smooth your lips with U.S. grown cane sugar, juicy organic Oregon blackberries, and a splash of Texas wine.  The lip balm is creamy and was created with a long-wear formula that lasts and lasts with just one application.

Moon Dip Back to Youth Ageless Mousse for Hands $16.  93% Natural and Gluten Free.

Moon Dip Back To Youth Ageless Mousse for Hands – FarmHouse Fresh Products

Of course, you can’t forget a great hand cream for the winter months and I am a huge lover of hand creams and lotions for holiday gift giving.  The Moon Dip Back to Youth Ageless Mousse for hands is perfect for travel or take on the go and just like my favorite Moon Dip in the glass jar, this hand cream is loaded and boosted with vitamin-rich emollient oils that lock in the hydration and suppleness.  It feels like powder on the skin with a soft texture that is just like magic.  Deep-winkle peptides help to visibly firm the look of your skin overtime, leaving your hands ready for gorgeous nail polish and showstopping photographs.  Did I mention the scent?  Light milk-oat scent is soft but fragrant.  It’s a soft scent that is perfect for everyday use.

The Whoopie Deluxe Boxed Gift Set includes an assortment of delectables for the body.  White velvet, whoopie pie dessert-scented favorites that include:  a full size body cream and hand cream, travel-size body wash and candle.  They smell delicious and I’m sure you’ll want to keep this set for yourself, so make sure you buy two – lol.

Whoopie! Deluxe Boxed Gift Set

I also highly suggest picking up one of the Whoopie Box Sets.  I wrote about it before on the blog and I love that they still offer this option for their customers.  If you are looking to try FHF products, this is a great way to test out some of my favorites.  This collection is Vegan, 95% Natural and Gluten Free.  For $54.00 you get a steal of a deal and it’s worth every single penny and more.  You can see a similar set featured here on my blog.

This image is from the FHF site.  I wanted to include it because I have tried the main 3-step sampler in the collection and it’s still a favorite for me to buy for loved ones.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Soft & Fluffy Limited Edition Gift Set.  I wrote about a similar set a few years back and it continues to be one of my favorite products to buy for my loved ones.  Retailing for $34.00 – this Limited Edition Set is the perfect way to pamper.  It includes a 3 step body transformation kit and a nourishing Fluffy Bunny Hand Cream.  The 3-step sampler includes 3 ounce jars of Sweet Cream Sea Salt Scrub (an O-List Favorite), Whoopie! Cream Shea Butter (a Redbook MVP Beauty Award Winner and one of Honey’s Favorite Things) and Agave Nectar Body Oil (another Honey’s Favorite Things item).  It also includes the Fluffy Bunny Shea Butter Hand Cream.  I have featured a similar set on my blog here.

The set I have pictured above is one I featured on my blog a few years ago.  As you can see, it doesn’t have the hand cream.

Why Does FHF make Honey’s Favorite Things each year?

I usually include products in a Holiday Gift Guide each year, but I decided I would change things up a bit.  I wanted to be able to feature my favorite products and brands in their own posts.  FarmHouse Fresh products continuously make my Holiday Gift Guides (Honey’s Favorite Things) each year because they are my favorites and I love them.  I purchase gifts for family and friends from this brand each year because I know that they will always have the quality I want at prices that anyone can afford.  Even if they were costly, their products are worth every single penny.  If you haven’t tried anything from FHF before, trust me when I say, once you do, you’ll be addicted to their quality and scents.

Interested in picking up any of these gifts for the holidays?  Or want to pick up something else from the delectable line up of FarmHouse Fresh treats?  Click here and check out their website.

There is absolutely no hiding it, I am an android lover.  It has been said in various posts and videos in the past that as much as many have tried to get me to convert, I just can’t do it and am a huge fan of the Android base system and what it has to offer.  As if that was not enough, after owning the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 previously, I just couldn’t see converting to iPhone either… Recently, I upgraded my phone to the Note 4, and it is my technological best friend.

What's on my phone?

Being in a technology world, it comes as no surprise that I use many of my phone and computer features as a part of my daily routine and overall work base.  I whole-heartily believe that you must “disengage” yourself from technology often, but I also run my entire world through my phone and sync it directly with my paper planner so my lifeline for certain things can be found here.  It’s ingenious if you think about it, years ago when I was still carrying around my funky button phone, there was no such thing as an app and now – there are a plethora of them available at the touch of a screen.

So what apps are important to me.  Be sure to check out the video below where I walk you through each aspect of what is on my phone.  Click here to watch directly on YouTube.  It’s a long one, so grab a cup of joe and enjoy.  Not into long videos?  Well, do not worry – I sum it all up for you below.

Most of the applications on my phone are geared towards production or productivity.

Blog, Productivity and Tasks apps:

  • WordPress – I blog through WordPress.Org and use this app to write up drafts for my site as well as manage images, etc.  A handy app for blogging on the go.
  • Trello – One of my favorite apps for organizing anything.  This is a free app that you can use to organize a schedule, project, or anything you can think of and share with others so they can add and remove from your task list.  I use this for project planning and for party planning and I love how easy of an interface it is.  Interested in checking it out?  Click here.
  • Evernote – Similar to Trello but different, if that makes any sense.  Evernote is what I use on the go when I can’t access WordPress.  It allows me to type out notes or a full letter or post if I want and save for a later date.  I save images, task lists – anything you can think of and can sync via my phone, tablet and desk top as with Trello.
  • Wunderlist – Yes, I may be in a task list overload… but this app is my go to for grocery lists and even listing ideas for posts and videos.  I love that I can break it down easily in it’s own little folders, sub folders, etc. and check them off once I’m done.  It’s simple and again, works through my desk top and my phone/tablet allowing me to be able to access on the go.  This has been my go-to shopping buddy.
  • Scanbot – I use this to scan all of my documents into PDF form, includes receipts too and saves to the drives I request.
  • DocuSign – I use this app to sign documents easily using my built in S-Pen.  You can then email to the recipient or save.

Favorite Dining, Review, Travel and Realty Apps:

  • Open Table – My absolute favorite app for booking reservations.  I use this app for looking up reviews as well.
  • Urban Spoon – Another cool app for looking up reviews and menus on restaurants.  I have been using Urban Spoon for years and have utilized it not only in my home state but many places across the US.  It is a life saver when in a pinch and you have no idea what or where to eat.
  • Uber – A fun taxi app.  I haven’t used it yet since I haven’t been traveling lately, but I will soon.
  • Yelp – I use Yelp often and if I’m not featuring a restaurant or establishment here on my blog, you know you can find my review on Yelp.
  • Yellow Pages / Yellow Book – Who needs to pay for 411?  I love that the Yellow Pages app is easy to use and quick.  Find anything you need from pizza to a hotel or a pair of socks at your finger tips.
  • Kayak – Have you seen the commercials?  This app makes booking travel very easy.
  • TripAdvisor – Look up reviews of your favorite destination resorts, etc. and find the cheapest rate for travel
  • Expedia – A long time favorite… I will always use this for discounts on airfare, travel, etc.
  • Zillow – An easy interface for looking for houses in the area you want to purchase.
  • Realtor.com – Find your dream house with this easy to use app.
  • Trulia – one of my favorite realty apps besides Zillow – this app will allow you to see what is available for purchase in the Realty market.  Since my hubs and I are always on the hunt to buy our dream home, Realty apps make it simple.

Shopping Apps:

Everything from Amazon to Etsy and don’t forget Sephora.  I have shopping apps at the click of the wrist.

shopping apps
Social Media Apps:

Of course, Social Media is an important part of blogging but in general my way to stay in communication.  Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram are some of my daily used apps.

socia media apps
Finance apps:

Everything from Credit Score apps to PayPal, I find that balancing your Finances or just looking them up is a great way to stay on top of your task at hand.  Looking for an App to help manage your finances and get you prepared for Tax Season, Mint is a great one.  Oh – and Credit Karma really is free!  After paying a ton a month for another Credit Score company, I’m so glad I finally found Credit Karma.

finance apps
Food apps:

Everything from recipes to menu planning, if you follow me on Instagram or here on the blog, you will know that I am a major foodie.  While creating my dishes from scratch is what I strive for, I love trying new recipes that I can find in some of these applications available.  Yummly and Food Network In the Kitchen are some of my favorite recipe apps.

Food apps
Workout, Health & Fitness Apps:

Tracking my water intake daily, my period and my work outs are all easy thanks to some fun and easy to use apps that I have found available.  S Health is my favorite and came standard with my phone.  It tracks where I go via GPS, how long of a walk or run I have done and even plays music for you.  A great app for those looking to get healthy or stay healthy.  Interested in joining a community where others encourage you?  I think MyFitnessPal is a great one.  Looking to track your woman cycle or all the monthly stuff?  Check out MyDays.

Game Apps:

I’m not gonna lie, I’m addicted to these Games listed here… don’t judge! hahahaha!  I want to know your favorite games, comment below and tell me!  FarmVille 2, Trivia Crack & Word Crack have been a few that I have been addicted to lately.

Music Apps:

Music feeds my soul and if you have been here on my blog a while, you would know this.  Each application has its purpose and I enjoy each one.  However, Pandora, Spotify and iHeartRadio are surely some of my favorites.

music apps
Photo and Video Editing Apps:

I’m always downloading and checking out new Photo and Video apps to try.  However, a few of my favorites that I use consistently are:  Magisto, Flipagram, PicsArt, Afterlight, Moldiv and Aviary.

photo video apps
So, that is the round up of my most used apps.  Of course, I do have my Google Apps which I use consistently like Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Google + and Docs.  Overall, even if I go old school with my planner, my phone works side by side with what I do daily and it is my go-to for everything most of the time.  Applications on my phone keep me organized and on task and they also help to keep the kids busy as well with apps like Netflix or YouTube Kids.

I hope you enjoyed this break down of the things I have on my phone.  I love my phone – it’s versatile, does what I need it to do and works for my lifestyle so the apps I download must be able to do the same.  Don’t forget to check out my video (click here) to get a walk through of everything available on my phone.  What applications do you find are necessarily to keep you on task?  What are your favorite things on your phone at the moment?  Comment below and let me know what apps you love.

Signature Honey

I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by.  In all honesty, I think I blinked or closed my eyes for a nap like Rip Van Wrinkle and woke up a year later.  So much has happened this year and I have had the awesome opportunity to try out so many different products newly released.  While I have tried out so many wonderful products, I also found that I stuck with a few favorites from last year as well.  With the end of 2014 so quickly approaching, myself and the gorgeous beauties from the Beauty Council bring to you our Best of Beauty 2014.

best of beauty

My list includes a variety of Cosmetics, skin care, face and body products as well as hair and perfume.  My favorites range from Drug store products to high end and include a wide variety for all.  I know I’m a little earlier than usual this year, as I normally make this post or video in January – but I wanted to share this information with you in case you are looking for ideas for Christmas presents for that Beauty lover in your life.  I’ll have a video and maybe a revised post sometime in January.

[Some of the products mentioned in this post include Press Samples & Affiliate Links.]Best of Beauty 2014

This year I tried out a lot of new skin care items and while some didn’t quite work for me, others have become favorites of mine.

skincare

  • Coconut Oil – this has been a favorite of mine a few years now and still something I just can’t live without.  It is the number one item in my skin care arsenal.
  • Freeman Beauty Feeling Beautiful Face Masks – I have tried several of these this year and so far I’m loving them all.  They are not harsh on my sensitive skin and really affordable.
  • Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser – this is my HG facial cleanser and one I’ve been using for years now.
  • Japanese Konjac Sponge – I have used a few varieties of these Konjac Sponges this year and they have been great for my face and a separate for my body.
  • Valentia Skin care Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Serum – We all know I’m a serum addict and this one is one of my favorites.
  • Michael Todd Soniclear Cleansing System – I have only been using this the last few months but it is my favorite cleansing tool to date.
  • Be Delectable by Cake Beauty Body Lotion – yummy, delicious scent and great moisturization.  One of my favorite lotions – EVER!
hair care

For hair care this year, I wanted to be able to use products that would offer my hair more moisture so I could embrace my natural curls.  I also needed products that would protect my hair from sun damage and help tame my frizz.

  • Dove Pure Care Dry Oil – When used in combination with my Coconut Oil and/or Argan Oil, this dry oil has helped to keep my hair soft and frizz free.  This product also smells yummy!
  • DermOrganic Argan Oil Hair Care line – these products, all of them from this line have become favorites this year and I don’t know what I would do if I lost them or couldn’t buy them.  They leave my hair feeling so soft, my curls are gorgeous and my hair is frizz-free.

best of makeup 2014

I can’t believe the amount of products I have had the opportunity to test out and use this year.  While I had to narrow my list down quite a bit, I chose out a few items that I knew I tend to pull for more than others.

  • NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams – I wish my local stores sold all the shades available, but nonetheless, I stock up on these when I can.  They apply like a liquid lipstick, feel nice on the lips and their matte.
  • J.Cat Wonder Lip Paints – these very affordable lip gloss like products are fun and come in a variety of shades.  I own six of them and really have been enjoying wearing them the last 6 months or so.
  • Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes – these lippies were just recently released within the last few months.  They are creamy, feel wonderful on the lips and they don’t dry my lips at all.
  • Milani Color Statement Lipsticks – there’s no secret there that I am in love with these lipsticks.  Nuff said. lol
  • Bite Beauty High Pigment Lip Pencils – ah, these are so awesome.  Full with pigment and color, feels wonderful on the lips and non-drying.
  • Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Shadows – I love how easy these are to apply to my eyes and they are so easy to grab and use for days when my makeup application has to be quick. So affordable too.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette – I have a few favorite palettes from this year, Lorac Pro 2, Lorac Mega Pro and so many more… but if I had to choose one palette I thought really hit it home for me this year – it was the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. And, I’m not gonna lie… my Semi Sweet palette is on its way – so I am excited for that too.
Best Face Products 2014
It’s no secret that I have a thing for blush and highlighters.  Well, let’s face it, I have a thing makeup in general. lol  But this year I tried out some new products and ventured on to new goodies to play with.
  • Benefit Porefessional – While I don’t use many face products, I do sometimes look to primers to help minimize pores.  This is still one of my all time favorite face products.
  • Maybelline Baby Skin – Instant Pore Eraser – I love the way this product feels on my skin.  Just like the Benefit Porefessional, this is a product I do not use often, but when I do – it helps my products in longevity (like blush and bronzer) and minimizes my pores
  • NYX Sunkissed Radiant Face Powder – One of my all time favorite highlighters I used this year, this product feels so soft, is finely milled and blends great on the skin.  It can be used as an all over face powder or on special areas on your face.
  • NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep – This is one of my favorite Matte bronzers from the drug store.  This product is the right shade for me and the shade range is nice for a drug store brand.  It blends nicely, doesn’t look patchy on and works as a great all over bronze or contour.
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders Palette – this palette is well worth the cost for the amount of product you get.  If you are interested in diving into Hourglass – this is a great way to try three of their powders.  I love Radiant Light as one of my favorite sunkissed highlights though all of the shades definitely have a place in my heart.
  • Milani Baked Blushes – Come on now… we all know I love Milani and I am a huge lover of Milani Baked Blushes.  They are available in gorgeous shades and are very pigmented, have awesome staying power and are some of my favorite blushes to bat.
Best of Fragrance 2014

I love sweet smelling scents and this year no matter how large my collection of fragrances, I still found myself consistently pulling for these.

  • Malin+Goetz Dark Rum Eu de Toilete – this scent is unlike any I have smelled before.  It’s unisex so man or woman can wear it.  It’s a musk like scent but has a soft hint of feminine touch.  I can’t explain it.  I love layering it with some of my favorites for a custom blend.
  • Coach Love – this is one of my signature scents and it makes so much sense seeing as I love the brand Coach.  Definitely one of my favorites.  Soft with a hint of sexy.
  • Aquolina’s Pink Sugar – There is just something I love about a sugary sweet or vanilla scent and this one really takes the Cake. lol

Best Mascaras and eyeliners 2014

I am always looking for the perfect mascara and eye liners and while I have quite an extensive collection, I tend to gravitate to the same ones over and over again regardless of my selection available for use.  These are some of my favorites from this year.

  • L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara – I really love that this mascara gets all my tiny little lashes and makes them visible.  For the price tag, I think it offers great volume and some length that work for me.
  • Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara – this one has been a favorite now for about two years.  Since I have short lashes, I love that this coats my lashes, gives them great volume and make them visible for me.
  • Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara – still one of my favorites into the second year of use and I have continued to purchase over and over again.  Gives me length, volume and doesn’t flake.
  • New York Color Liquid Eye liner – while this isn’t waterproof, I still love that it lasts on me for quite a while, definitely a favorite of mine and under $3.00 – it can’t be beat.
  • Mally Beauty Evercolor Waterproof Liners – Midnight is probably one of my favorite liners, though I do have a few other colors and love them.
  • Jordana 12 Hour Made To Last Liquid Pencil Liner – these are some of my favorites and I have them in every color available.  They work well on my waterline, apply smoothly and hello – they are under $3.00

I know my list of products is long and I would be lying if I didn’t say that I actually narrowed it down quite a bit.  Truth be told, I had a lot of fun testing out and trying new products this year and it definitely reflects on the products I enjoyed using and selected.  I think the joy in beauty products and makeup for me is that the options are definitely endless… from drugstore to high end brands, now a days you have so many choices available for you – it really is difficult to narrow down favorites when so many of them are close calls.  Did you notice I left out nail polish?  If I included those… I would need a whole new post. lol

I’m definitely looking forward to 2015 and all the new releases and products that will become available soon.  Brands are constantly developing new formulas and shades, colors and textures that it makes for a great selection.  I hope you all stick around and read or watch about those products here as I love to share them with you.

Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday season.  And, don’t forget to stop by the other lovelies posts from the Beauty Council and see what made their top picks for 2014.
