I have always been a pretty big fan of Wet n Wild and I’m always checking out their products if they catch my eye.  A few weeks ago, I came across a display in Walgreens that offered these Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Shimmer Palettes in two shades that I have not seen a part of their permanent collection.  I’m still not sure if they are Limited Edition, but consider them so since the girl at Walgreens said that they were not getting them back – once sold out, they were gone.  Since they may possible be an LE, I figured I would share them with all of you as quickly as possible so you have the opportunity to go out and get them if you can.

These face powders from Wet n Wild retailed at Walgreens for $6.99 and also included a kabuki brush.  While sold separately – I considered it to be a pretty reasonable price, especially since these powders retail for about $6.99 – $8.99 at my local stores here on Maui.  I have never seen these before anywhere in other stores and noticed how different they were to the other three that are included in Wet n Wild’s permanent Fergie collection.

Wet n Wild Centerstage Shimmer Palette Video Bomb

The first palette I tried out was Video Bomb.  This palette has a pretty cool marbleized look to it like the other To Reflect Shimmer Palettes that are permanent in the Centerstage collection from Fergie.  It has a blend of a soft pink, chocolate brown and soft brown and when blended together, it has a soft pinkish brown that works really well as a blush/cheek shade.  I loved this palette, but because it is a bit on the powdery side, it can leave your skin looking ashy or muddy – especially if you use too much of it.  A little goes a long way – so tap off the excess from your brush before applying and sweep gently on your cheeks for a soft and sweet summery color.

What I love about this palette the most is that it is perfect on those days you are looking for a little color – but are not keen on truly using a blush or bronzer.  It will give you a slight bronzed look with a soft pink hue without going overboard.  Keep in mind that the palette has a golden sheen to it – so it can look a bit sparkly and shimmery on the skin if you put too much – again, a light hand is key.

The next palette I tried out was Photo Bomb.  This one automatically caught my eye in the store because it is VERY different from the original three Shimmer Palettes Wet n Wild offers.  It is all one shade, golden and what I thought would be perfect for highlight.

Wet n Wild Centerstage Shimmer Palette Photo Bomb

This palette offers a gold sheen, soft but still packs a punch of color.  While this is great for a highlight – a little of this product definitely goes a long way.  Like Video Bomb, this can offer a powdery texture, but blends nicely if you are looking for a great highlight.  I love how both of these powders feel really nice – even when blended on the skin, it feels soft and both palettes are super pigmented.

I think that the Photo Bomb would work well on light and dark skin tones and in most skin tone shades.  I was very amazed to see how nicely it looked against my skin and how it offered me a great glow but can see how nice it would work for someone with cool toned skin as well.

There is a lot of product in each palette – 0.4 oz / 11.3 g and I know that a little will go a long way so considering the cost of these palettes, you are getting a great deal for a very affordable price tag.  I have read reviews and seen videos on the packaging for the original Shimmer Palettes where it fell apart for some and honestly, I have dropped mine a few times and they have stayed in tact reasonably well.  The only thing that worries me is that I may drop it really hard one day and the actual powder will crack – but so far, so good.

Now the one downfall for these sets is the Kabuki brush that is offered with it.  I think it is great that Wet n Wild included a Kabuki brush with each of these but after washing one of them, the quality and brush in general was a fail for me.  While washing, the kabuki brush shed a lot and during the first use, I felt like the brush was quite rough on my skin.  The brush hair felt soft at first but with use, it was uncomfortable and continued to shed.  Ultimately – that was not a great selling point for the kit, but it also allowed the powders to stand alone.

Check out your local Walgreens and see if these are in stock.  I haven’t tried any of the permanent line shimmer palettes, so I honestly don’t know how they would compare and if these have a different texture.  If you are on a budget and interested in trying something fun for the summer months – this may be something you will like.  Overall – well I’m not too keen on the shimmer these palettes offer, they are still pretty cool and I’ll make use of them for sure.  Don’t forget to check out my video review along with demo on how these look directly on the skin – you can find that video here.

zoya polish discount color2014

Yay Yay! First let me start by saying I hope that my discount went through accordingly because I forgot what the date was and rushed to order earlier today. lol But, those of you that love Zoya, now is your chance to stock up on 3 polishes and only pay for shipping.

Starting 1/7/14 – you can pick out 3 Zoya Nail Polishes (any color) and get them for free… you just have to pay the shipping and handling fee.  Now – shipping to Hawaii is about $12-16 depending on the order size, but that’s still an awesome deal considering each polish starts at $9.00 and goes up in price from there… so you are getting an awesome deal.  Update: I just confirmed shipping is $12.00 (yay!)

Here’s what I did – I chose my free polishes (a total of 3) and added another 3 to my cart (I couldn’t help it – I have been making my list to shop for over a month).  If you order $25.00 or more, you qualify for Free Shipping (woohoo!) so I paid $29.00 for 6 polishes (one of which is a Pixi).  A total steal!  If I averaged them out… that means each polish costs me $4.83.  Yay Me!

So jump on this opportunity while you can.  This discount will run from 1/7/14 – 1/13/14 at  I can’t wait to see what all of you got. I picked up a gorgeous shade from the Touch Collection – I’m so excited!  Happy Shopping my friends!

I’m a sucker for nail polish with pretty sparkle… let’s face it, who isn’t?  Those of you that have followed my blogging journey for a while now know that at one time for about a year (maybe longer), I was subscribed to Julep Maven which is a monthly box subscription.  I enjoyed it but as much as I did enjoy their polishes… I have more nail polishes then any one should have and I decided to cancel.

I still get their emails in my inbox and I came across this new beauty they have on the site.  Little Lights is a part of their Holiday Gift collection and this tiny little set is super adorable.  Includes four mini polishes in awesome shades that really do remind me of little lights from the Christmas tree.  It’s on sale now for just $20.00 so if you have a nail polish addiction your shopping list this year, this is a great buy.  Check out this awesome deal today on Julep’s website.

The eos Passion Fruit Lip Balm is one of my favorites.  So much so that this time of the year when they release it on Limited Edition, I try to stock up on it so it will last me the year at least.  Here in Hawaii, we call Passion Fruit – Liliko’i.  It is my absolute favorite eos Lip Balm Sphere EVER and I’m happy to say that they are back again.  Available at Target Stores (sadly, not online – which is a bummer since I don’t have a Target here) and you can get your hands on this favorite of mine.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I am totally taken at awe with this collection set.  I just received the email from Sephora this morning and almost fell out of my chair.  Urban Decay is wowing us again with a collection filled with a massive set sold exclusively online.  The set has 68 beautiful Urban Decay shadows, all in full size.  If you were to purchase each shadow individually – you would be paying well over $1200.00 so the fact that this collection is just $595.00 is a total steal.
This is a makeup artist’s dream because this is such a great way to build your eye shadow kit at an affordable cost.  Let’s face it – when you are an artist in that field, your kit is a huge investment as this will be too.  Check it out and so much more at
I’m a little behind on posting this because this week has been seriously CRAY… but I wanted to share anyway.  If you have watched my Makeup Palette Collection video (here), you would have seen that I have both the UD Glinda and Theodora Palettes from Urban Decay.  I ordered them online from Sephora (let’s face it, I love the points. lol).  So much to my surprise and excited… I received an email the other day with the note that they were discounted.
I paid $49.00 (full price) for these palettes in March I believe (don’t quote me on that. lol) and absolutely love them.  Much to my amazement, here they are discounted. lol  But that’s okay – I digress.  Get this awesome palette (Glinda) for just $24.00.  Unfortunately the Theodora palette is sold old but if you haven’t had the opportunity to get them, get it now.  Since they are Limited Edition – get it at this price while you can.  I may consider just buying another one (because we all know Honey loves her purple).  The Glinda palette comes with four full sized shadows, 2 – duo shadows, a deluxe sample (I believe that’s what they call it) of the Urban Decay 24/7 liner and a lip pencil (which I love).  All of this for $24.00 and not to mention the packaging… LOVE!  Get yours today at
