It’s no secret that I have very sensitive skin, it’s something I stress about here on the blog. But, along with sensitive skin, I also suffer from Eczema. I never used to have this issue in my younger years and after I turned 30 – I noticed that my skin was having issues with certain products. I went from a person who primarily had oily skin to now having mostly dry skin and many products cause my Eczema to flare up. Because of being diagnosed with this issue a few short years ago, I decided it was best to eliminate certain products from my skin care and beauty regimen. I went from using foundation pretty frequently to not using it at all any longer and that includes concealer. It’s taken me a little while to get used to a bare face, but I’m thankful that I have products in my arsenal that helps when my Eczema flares up or becomes an issue for me. About a year ago I started using Cheryl Lee MD products as a part of a way to combat and heal my Eczema flare ups. It was a great thing since so many of the creams my Dermatologist prescribed to me felt really icky and greasy on my skin and I really didn’t like it. Immediately after adding some of these products from Cheryl Lee MD to my sensitive skin care products, I found that living with this issue doesn’t have to feel like I’m in prison.
What better way to help with Eczema than with a kit specifically for the issue. The Cheryl Lee MD True Lipids Ultimate Eczema Kit has been an absolute must have for me. The kit retails for $149.97 and includes three products: Full size tubes of True Lipids Relieve & Protect Ointment, True Lipids True Therapy Ceramide+ Cream and True Lipids Eczema Experts Anti-Itch 1% Hydrocortisone Barrier Cream. Each product assists with the Fast relief of your Eczema and are all Dermatologist invented and tested.
Since making changes to my skin care, I haven’t had much issues with Eczema flare ups – but summer months can take a toll on my skin and I find that between the months of July and September, my skin is most vulnerable to flare ups as well as during the winter months when my skin is most dry. The True Therapy Ceramide+ Cream offers my skin deep moisturizing therapy and has been helping to keep my dry skin moisturized while still offering to protect my skin. It reminds me of a thick hand cream and when applied to my driest areas on my face or on my hands and feet, my skin immediately feels soft and hydrated.
The True Lipids Relieve & Protect Ointment is my go-to for when my cuticles or my feet are very dry. Since I live in Hawaii, flip flops and sandals are an every day thing and I find my skin can be dry, cracked or chapped. With a little of this ointment rubbed onto my skin – I immediately feel like my skin is moisturized, but it heals the skin for me and leaves it feeling softer than before. If I have an Eczema flare up (especially on my face), I will apply this product directly to the flare up to help protect against the elements while still penetrating my skin with moisture. The Relieve & Protect Ointment reminds me of Vaseline but it’s on a completely different level, offering my skin soothing relief almost immediately. It includes a patent-pending blend of essential skin lipids; Cholesterol Esters, Ceramide 3, Ceramide Precursors and a long chain of fatty acids. When applied it to the skin it helps to repair and provide a skin barrier. I also enjoy using this product on my lips after I am recovering from being sick or having a cold. On my lips it protects, heals and even softens and moisturizes my lips quickly so I don’t have to worry about the chapped feeling or dryness.
The last of the three products is the Eczema Experts Anti-Itch 1% Hydrocortisone Barrier Cream. If you have Eczema like I do – you know that those over the counter creams or prescribed ones are just funky. This cream is gentle and provides long lasting moisturize as well as anti-itch for when your Eczema is being a pain in the butt. I carry all of these products with me in my purse, but especially the Barrier Cream. I not only use it to replace the prescribed versions I’ve been given but I also use on bug or mosquito bites and use this cream on my sons. It has long lasting moisture which helps to relieve your Eczema but also helps to balance the skin’s moisture, leaving your skin smooth after use. It is not oily like traditional Eczema creams and I think it rubs into the skin well leaving my skin soft and smooth. If I have a flare up and apply to my face (where my flare ups normally are), it is usually healed within a day or so whereas traditional creams will take up to a week or more.
These products are holy grail must haves and I have continued to purchase them over the year. Each one is fragrance, paraben, PEG and formaldehyde free and is perfect for sensitive skin as it is hypoallergenic and non-irritating.
Most of you that read my blog have seen what I look like with a bare face and the photo above is what my face looks like when my Eczema starts to have a flare up. My skin feels dry and funky and it’s irritating, itchy and just overall uncomfortable. When I treat my skin with my Cheryl Lee MD products, my skin heals quickly and I don’t have to worry about not only the issue of not feeling confident, but not looking so.
While I still continue to deal with my Eczema, I am glad and thankful that there is a product out there that seems to work well for me and my skin. And, I love that I can use these products for many other things. I use the Ceramide+ Cream as a daily lotion/cream and the Relieve & Protect Ointment is something I use universally for my body to help with moisture. And, like I mentioned above, the 1% Hydrocortisone Cream is what I use on more than just my Eczema, but comes in handy during those nights by the camp fire when the bugs and mosquitos are driving us nuts. Overall, these products have been so important and I’m glad I have found a product that works.

My husband has eczema on his body but not his face. This is good to keep in mind though for when he has flare ups.
I wouldn’t even know you have skin issues because you always have smooth skin up close
I’ve never heard of this brand! My nieces have eczema, and sometimes it can get really bad.
My daughters skin has been insane this summer with her flare ups… It’s definitely from being in the pool. I’ve been using her medicine on it but this would likely be better for her face. I’ll check it out!
Thanks for sharing such a personal story. My cousin deals with eczema so I’ll make sure to tell her about this brand.
