I know, I know… we are already in the second month of the new year, but it really is the perfect time to get started on a great skin care regimen (if you haven’t already started).  By this time, your skin is probably over the dry and cold winter weather and looking for a way to escape – I know mine is.  I find that this time of the year is the perfect time to get my skin in check and get it clear, healthy and ready to welcome Spring.  I also find that since I’ve been using minimal makeup lately, I really need to make sure that the products I choose will help bring my fresh and bright face forward.  I try a lot of skin care products and over the last month or so, I also included Derma E into that mix.  Let’s check it out, shall we?

The first thing I wanted to touch base on is the Derma E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask ($19.50 – Net. wt. 1.7 oz / 48g).  Now a similar mask from Derma E has been one of my favorites over the last year or so, but I love the new packaging design and overall look of their products and the new additives that this mask has.  This mask helps to deeply detoxify the skin of harmful micropollutants in two ways:  1)  The natural clays infused with Kimarine Wakame, Bladerwrack and Activated Charcoal lift out dirt, oil and bacteria to congest pores as the mask dries; and 2) Apricot Seed Powder exfoliates away dead skin cells and captured debris upon removal while the Kaolin and Bentonite Clay absorb excess oils and impurities, relieving skin congestion.

Now – let’s talk a bit technical for a moment and discuss how this all works – shall we?  The Kimarine Wakame is a potassium-rich, magnesium-rich seaweed that is clinically proven to protect the skin against environmental pollutants like exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke and heavy metals.  Bladderwrack is an antioxidant-rich, mineral-rich seaweed known for its water-binding properties, supporting healthy skin hydration and nourishment.  The Activated Charcoal is known for absorbing 100 to 200 times its weight in impurities, to purge the pores of deeply rooted toxins and the Apricot Seed Powder gently exfoliates away the micropollutants.  All of these things working together create a mask that is ideal for oil, active or urban skin types, and is safe for reactive skin since it has minimal ingredients and is allergy tested.  Derma E suggests using this formula once or twice a week to see skin that looks dramatically fresher, healthier and purely glowing.

Now – I talked about how I have used the other mask in the past but there is a bit of a difference in this mask versus the other Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask I’ve used.  I can only use that mask once every 2 weeks or so to avoid and Eczema flare up, but this one I could use once a week.  This mask has small little Apricot Seeds inside to really help with exfoliating.  After using this mask my skin looks so bright, fresh and clean and it’s one of my favorites to use about 3-4 days before a big event or date night because my skin is literally glowing.  Using this mask in combination with my other skin care products (from different brands) has been great and I’m loving that I can get these products at my local stores, making it easy for me to consistently keep up with the regimen.

Next on my list is the Derma E Purifying Daily Detox Scrub ($15.50 – Net. wt. 4 oz. / 113g).  This scrub is one of my favorites for my sensitive skin.  It’s gentle enough for daily use to help lift away micropollutants and impurities while still promoting oxgenation for a fresh, healthy radiant look.  This mask is Doctor developed and clinically tested.  It is a revitalizing formula that contains some of the most powerful minerals and natural toxin fighters from the earth and from the sea.  With Kimarine Wakame (which I mentioned above and stated what it’s great benefits are) to Bladderwrack, Activated Charcoal, Apricot Seed Powder and Green Tea which delivers potent antioxidant defense.  This product is also ideal for oily skin and is safe for reactive skin since it also has minimal ingredients and is allergy-tested.  If you are looking for a formula that boosts skin purity for a refreshed, glowing complexion, you’ll really enjoy this one.

While you can use this scrub daily, I only use it every other day since again, my skin is quite sensitive.  I love how fresh and clean my skin feels after I’ve used this scrub and I think it will be one of those products that I enjoy from Derma E.  I love that this scrub is non-irritating and soothes my skin leaving it really soft after just one use.  I will a notation however, that this is not the traditional type of scrub you would expect to use, it’s thicker than usual (because of the clay) and the bits of Apricot Seed Powder is larger than I had expected.  It makes a great scrub for the body too – though I’ve been enjoying it on my face.

This particular scrub is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil free, lanolin-free, gluten free and GMO-free.

Like I said before, while I do have a certain regimen I like to keep to and love trying new skin care products, it’s kind of cool to add new ones to my mix and I’ve been enjoying these from Derma E.  Have you tried anything from Derma E and if you have, what are your favorites or the ones you enjoy?  Have you tried these?  If so, what do you think about them.

I hear nothing but raves about the derma e mask and scrub. I had a giveaway with them at least twice, and I may have one more in my stash. My skin is way too dry, but for most everyone else they sound fabulous

    • My skin is dry too… that’s why I can’t use it nearly as much as I would like… or my Eczema flares up. It works great as a spot treatment… I dab on places where I have a need to dry that area… like a break out. I do like it for that too 🙂

These are such great products, and I love how affordable and effective they are!

  3. I’m glad to see Dermae changed their packaging. I think it’s more contemporary. I’ve used the line a lot and like most of their products. I couldn’t use this exfoliator daily but I could see using it twice a week.

  4. I loveee the updated packaging, it’s so chic now. I’m currently testing their hydrating serum (I think that’s what it’s called) lol. I love how gentle their products are!

I haven’t tried these from Derma E, but the other items I’ve tried have been really nice! Next time I go to purchase I’ll keep an eye out for these!
