It’s no secret that I’m a plus sized gal – well, now anyway. But, I always say that being plus sized doesn’t mean that you need to sacrifice your style! There are a lot of things you can wear that are not only fashionable but also comfy, even during the summer months. Living in Hawaii means that summers are warm and humid, so dressing comfortably is not only important, but also ideal. During the summer I absolutely live in dresses and shorts, and if I had my way, short dresses would be my go-to since they are not only easy to wear and cool, but comfortable. But since I’m a plus sized woman, short dresses mean that they can often hike up on their own quite easily since my bum and my chest have a mind of its own. Because of this, I’m always on the hunt for undergarments that will not only provide support, but also be easy to wear during this time. 
Recently I was introduced to Jockey® Skimmies Slipshorts. I have tried many and I truly put the emphasis on many slimming and smoothing undergarments over the years – even during my skinnier years… and have not found one as comfortable as these. You can quote me on that too! So what in the world are Skimmies? I have the long length size in an XXL. These undergarments are microfiber stretch shorts that are used for smoothing coverage under skirts. They are lightweight, offer a sleek design without constriction and come in a variety of colors. They fit so comfortably, I literally forget that I’m wearing them and they are absolutely perfect for the days I want to use my shorter dresses or mini skirts. I find that they work so well under my maxi skirts on those days I feel a little bloated and can seem to fit anything right and they are now my favorite “must-have” to wear under my cute and flirty short dresses. 
I have them in white, but plan to pick them up in black and nude because I love them so. In the past, I have had issues with similar undergarments riding up on my thighs and so constricting that it made it hard to sit, or breathe. If that wasn’t the problem, they were so tight or uncomfortable and it was unbelievably hot that wearing them was just unbearable. Jockey’s Skimmies are made of a comfortable microfiber fabric, breathable and easy to wear. They stretch well and even fit me so well that I forget that I’m a plus size woman sometimes. I also forget that I’m wearing them and I never have to worry about flashing anyone when I’m wearing a short dress.

I believe they are only available at Jockey Outlet stores which are all over the US. The site has a store locator. I haven’t seen them anywhere in local stores, but I am totally keepin’ an eye out because they are so comfy.

These would be great for under dresses and skirts. I always feel self-conscious when walking up steps or when a breeze comes along. It also feels too bulky to wear even thin shorts under them. These would be perfect for coverage AND comfort.
