Pregnancy Safe skin care???  Hmmm… I’ll be honest, I didn’t think there was any type of skin care that I couldn’t use while pregnant, but it’s probably because most of what I used during my two pregnancies with my boys, I had picked up for convenience.  Pregnancy can be a very trying time on any mother (to be) and worrying about your skin care seems so tedious and annoying.  I’ll be honest though, what I know now could have really helped my skin through the tough time it experienced while I was pregnant, so that is why I’m sharing it with you.  Today, I introduce you to Belli Skincare.  Their mission is simple, to take the guesswork out of skincare ingredient safety and to provide effective and luxurious formulations.  Let’s chit chat a little about what I had the chance to try out, shall we?

Belli Skincare was born in 2002.  It has earned the respect and recommendations of OB/GYN’s and Dermatologists and most importantly the trust of moms, just like myself.  I was quite intrigued to learn about this brand and very interested and excited to try the products for myself.  Having gone through two pregnancies, my skin really took a toll on my self-esteem.  My pregnancies were harsh on me, losing over 50 lbs during each one, I really had to deal with a lot, including issues with my skin that I would have loved to fixed during that time.  Finding safe and effective skin care during your pregnancy, well – I didn’t think that was an option so I went without or used basic necessities to make it work for me.  However, Belli Skincare which is developed by a Medical Doctor and Beauty Expert has become the trifecta of maternity skin care, offering ingredient safety and effective solutions that provide clinically proven ingredients and luxurious formulations (including aromatherapy) to provide a spa-like experience.

I tried out three products from the Belli Skincare line:  Anti-Blemish Facial Wash, Eye Brightening Cream and Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator.  Each of these products have been a great addition to my skin care regimen, used in combination with some of my favorite products, I have been enjoying them every step of the way.

The Anti-Blemish Facial Wash ($22.00) is a great product for my skin.  It’s obvious I’m not pregnant, but I do need a product that will work well with my sensitive skin and boy do I wish I had this when I was pregnant.  It’s smooth formula facial wash leaves my skin feeling absolutely clean, refined and fresh without drying out my skin or leaving it yearning for moisture.  The tube is quite large so I know that even with the price point, it will offer me a few months of use without any issues.  It’s a nice smelling facial wash and smells of citrus which is great and invigorating to use, especially during the day or for my morning face wash.  While I don’t have issues with breakouts very often, I do get them now and then, especially during that time of month, and I find that this facial wash has really helped with keeping them at bay.  I haven’t had a bad breakout since using this wash.

Just a note – this does kind of exfoliate my skin and livens it up.  I can use this product without issues if I’m not using it too often.  I tend to use it about 3x a week.  This is a nice facial wash for my morning cleansing routine.

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Lactate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium PEG-7 Olive Oil Carboxylate, Glycerine, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Sodium PCA, Lactic Acid, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Phenoxyethanol, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate (and) Glycereth-2 Cocoate

The Eye Brightening Cream ($39.00) is a great product as well.  I am huge on eye creams and use them daily.  Since I have sensitive eyes, I usually can tell right away if I like an eye cream or if it will be a miss for me.  This eye cream feels really nice on my skin, almost cooling to the touch while it doesn’t have that sticky texture that some eye creams can have.  It also has a cooling feel without the burn – it feels like cool cream or cold cream to the touch.  I don’t have many dark circles, but noticed that it did help with the appearance of fine lines due to rubbing and my allergies and I do love that my eye area looks brighter and rejuvenated.  It’s definitely becoming a favorite eye cream of mine.  With Vitamin K, Vitamin B3 and Vitamin E – I’m loving the combination of ingredients for my sensitive eye area.

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer (and) Squalane (and) Polysorbate 60, Glycerine, Sodium PCA, PPG-2 Myristyl Ether Propionate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, Phospholipids (and) Phytonadione, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein (and) Oxido Reductases (and) Glycerine Soja (and) Deionized Water (and) Glycerine, Acanthopanax Senticosus (Ginseng) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Dimethicone, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) (and) Glucose, Panthenol, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract, Squalane, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate (and) Glycereth-2 Cocoate

The Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator ($32.00) has been my go-to day or night to help hydrate, refreshen and cool my skin.  This facial hydrator is perfector for morning or night to help give you an antioxidant boost of Vitamin C and grape seed oil for radiant, healthy looking skin.  This hydrator is lightweight and works for all skin types, including my sensitive skin.  I especially enjoy using it after cleansing and before moisturizer.  One pump of the product smoothed onto my face and I feel like I’m ready to take on the day. I love the citrus scent too – it just wakes me up.

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Sodium PCA, Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol (and) Ethylhexylglycerin, Acanthopanax Senticosus (Eleutherol) Root Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ascorbyl Palmitate

With Belli Skincare you can enjoy peace of mine.  Belli Skincare products are allergy tested, Paraben free and do not contain artificial dyes or fragrances.  They are also OB/GYN and Dermatologist recommended.  They do not do any animal testing, are gluten free and Made in the USA.  I wish I knew about this brand during each of my pregnancies, because it would have been so beneficial for me then.  I’m glad I know about them now.  Sensitivities can develop in the skin during pregnancy because your hormones and body are so out of sorts sometimes so it’s great to know there is a brand out there that can help with that issue.

Over the last couple of months I have enjoyed using Belli Skincare.  The price point is reasonable but the products are really nice and feel absolutely great on my skin.  I have tried many different skin care brands and products over the years and I am thankful to be able to share this product with all of you because I enjoy it.

  1. I definitely wouldn’t have thought about having to change up your skincare when you get pregnant.. will have to remember that for future! Love the packaging of this line.

I read about this line on Julie’s blog a couple of weeks ago, and after that, I heard about another pregnancy-safe line. I had never thought about it. I think any natural and/or organic skincare line would suffice – but when you think about the skincare lines for babies including J&J, I don’t know if they’d pass muster now. Skin does absorb chemicals. Belli sounds like a very nice line.

  3. Ah man, wish you posted this 6 months ago when I was still preggers lol. I basically used only all natural, basic stuff on my skin during pregnancy. Anti-agers like retinol, and even salicylic acid are no-nos. Even now that I’m nursing, I have restrictions on what I can use. I’ll have to look into this line!

This brand sounds excellent! I’ll have to pass it on to my mom-to-be friends.
