If there’s one thing about me, it’s this – I don’t discriminate when it comes to fragrance.
I don’t care if it’s designer, a dupe, a body spray, or a random find from TJ Maxx… if it smells good, it’s in rotation. And lately? I’ve been fully in my gourmand era.
Think sweet, vanilla, marshmallow, creamy, and a little bit of tropical mixed in. Don’t forget a bit of sexy for a date night out.
Today I’m sharing the perfumes I’ve been reaching for over the last few months – what I love, how I layer them, and why they’ve earned a spot in my current rotation.
My Scent Style: Gourmand, Sweet & “Smell Like a Snack”
I’ve always gravitated toward fragrances that feel warm, sweet, and edible (yes… edible 😂).
- Vanilla is my go-to base
- Marshmallow, cream, and sugar notes? Yes please
- If it smells like dessert, I’m probably wearing it
And while I do love trying new scents, I tend to stay within that scent profile because I know what works for me.
My Go-To Date Night Combo (Layering is Everything)
If I’m going out or just want to feel a little extra, I’m layering. Always.
One of my favorite combos right now includes:
- A rich vanilla-based perfume
- A sweet, projecting vanilla fragrance
- A lotion to lock everything in
I love mixing scents to create something that feels unique to me – and honestly, that’s where the magic happens. You don’t need one “perfect” perfume… you just need the right combination.
Vanilla Favorites I Keep Reaching For
Vanilla is that girl in my collection.
Some of my most-used scents lately include:
- Warm, sweet vanilla perfumes with strong projection
- Layering with lotions and sprays from Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body Works (BBW)
- Sweet body mists that enhance longevity
Vanilla just works with everything—and it always smells good.
Creamy & Lactonic Scents (Soft, Milky, Sweet)
When I want something softer but still sweet, I reach for lactonic fragrances – think creamy, milky, cozy vibes.
These are perfect for:
- Everyday wear
- Subtle sweetness
- Layering with stronger perfumes
And honestly? Some of my favorite finds in this category have been super affordable – and smell way more expensive than they are.
Marshmallow Scents (My Weakness)
If you love sweet fragrances, marshmallow notes are EVERYTHING.
I rotate between:
- Sweet, fluffy marshmallow scents
- Slightly musky marshmallow blends
- Perfume oils that add depth
This category is probably one of my favorites because you can go:
- super sweet
- slightly sexy
- or somewhere right in between
Fruity + Tropical Scents (Hawaii Vibes)
Living in Hawaii, I naturally gravitate toward tropical scents – especially when the weather starts warming up.
Lately I’ve been loving:
- Berry-forward fragrances
- Guava, citrus, and floral blends
- Tropical body sprays layered with vanilla
There’s something about fruity + sweet together that just works – especially going into spring and summer.
Transitioning Into Spring & Summer Scents
As the seasons change, so do my preferences.
I still love my gourmand scents, but I start reaching more for:
- Coconut
- Fruity blends
- Lighter, airy sweetness
Vanilla never leaves my rotation – but it gets paired differently depending on the season.
Real Talk: I Choose Vibe Over Price
I don’t build my fragrance collection based on price – I build it based on how something makes me feel.
Some of my favorites are:
- affordable finds
- dupe fragrances
- body sprays
- mid-range perfumes
If it smells good, lasts, and fits my vibe… I’m wearing it.
Want High-End Fragrance Recommendations?
While I love what I have, I’ll be the first to say – I’m not the one breaking down luxury perfume notes in detail.
If you’re into high-end fragrances and want deeper reviews, definitely check out my friend Mayra (I linked her in my video). She dives into designer scents and gives a completely different perspective.
