My skin has not been my best friend lately and I have been working diligently to get it back on track. With the change in seasons, I find a good skin care regimen definitely helps the process. About a month ago, I start incorporating LaFlore Skincare into my daily regimen and today I share with you my thoughts and a little about each product and how it worked for me.
LaFlore‘s goal is to offer a skincare line that will awaken the power of your skin. The products target the skin’s Microbiome with the power of probiotics to provide skin wellness. LaFlore’s proprietary Probiotic Technology uses only active biomolecules at clinical strengths along with a synergistic blend of natural ingredients to achieve a state of skin equilibrium. Basically, this skincare line provides the skin with a probiotic defense while refreshing and soothing the skin throughout.
“I love learning about the science behind my skincare products, but honestly, I don’t often take into consideration all the formulations and terminology that come with it.”
By harnessing the power of probiotics, LaFlore works with your own flora (the microbes that live on the skin) and enhances the skin’s defense to protect it from a variety of environmental toxins and products that can harm the skin. Once the skin is stress-free, it can perform its functions and in turn have more energy to create collagen – to multiply and renew as needed. Your skin’s flora is basically restored to its healthy form.
I love learning about the science behind my skincare products, but honestly, I don’t often take into consideration all the formulations and terminology that come with it. Now that my skin has been suffering due to my PCOS, I find that I’m in need of finding products that will work better for me, instead of masking the problems. Unlike other skin care products, LaFlore gets to the root of the issue by targeting skin dysfunction at its core. Not only does LaFlore provide my skin with their patent-pending Probiotic Technology, it leaves my skin glowing. The probiotic is in a dormant “cry-like” state until it comes into contact with the skin, at which point it goes to work to enhance the good flora, leaving your skin looking healthy and glowy.
The main ingredient is Aloe, not water.
One important thing I found with LaFlore is that it features aloe, not water, as the main ingredient. Honestly, I was pretty impressed by that. As many know, Aloe has been clinically studied for its healing properties, anti-inflammatory actions and positive effects on the immune system and the skin. My dad always had an Aloe plant growing in our garden and we used it for the skin and for just about everything.
LaFlore Probiotic Cleanser is mild but infused with clinical strength ingredients like Perilla Seed Oil, Luteolin, Terpens and Phenols for natural exfoliation while still helping to keep the skin hydrated with proper circulation and cell renewal. I love that this cleanser can do double duty as a cleanser or mask (by leaving on the skin for one minute), or as an exfoliator with a washcloth. It should be applied to dry skin and rinse with warm water.
The LaFlore Probiotic Concentrated Serum also includes Aloe as well as Hemp seed oil, Sea Buckthorn fruit oil, St. John’s oil, Avocado, Squalane and Beta Carotene to bring back balance to the skin and to allow the skin to rest and heal while increasing cell communication. It helps to calm inflammation and boosts the immune system as well. The Probiotic Concentrated Serum can also be used as a spot treatment for blemishes or to help calm rosacea. I’ve enjoyed it as an all over serum, but LOVE it as a spot treatment since my blemishes have been freaking out a bit lately. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite products from the set, though I do love them all.
LaFlore Probiotic Daily Defense Moisturizer is a lightweight moisturizer that works to strengthen the skin’s flora while increasing cellular metabolism and enhance collagen synthesis for a stronger skin barrier. This is all used to fight off stress from environmental aggressors, cosmetics, cleansers and soaps thanks to ingredients like Aloe, Pycnogenol, Bisabolol Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Vitamin D3, and Hyaluronic Acid. I especially have been enjoying using this moisturizer after the summer months. My family and I spent a good part of our summer in the sun and in the elements and I found that this moisturizer has been perfect for helping to rejuvenate, replenish and heal my skin from the elements.
“When the skin is functioning at optimal levels, collagen and elastin synthesis occur and skin renewal and barrier functions are also improved as is one’s complexion.”
Using these products is simple, but a bit different from what we or you may be accustomed to with other skincare. While most women tend to wash their face twice daily, LaFlore encourages to only wash at night. The reasoning behind this method is to allow for the soothing and refreshing ingredients of the Probiotic Cleanser to wash the day away and cleanse the skin for the serum to be applied. The Serum works overnight to replenish the good flora so you don’t want to wash it away the following day (in the morning). In the morning, you want to splash your face with warm water and apply the Probiotic Daily Defense Moisturizer, which will help to lock in hydration for your skin while offering protection throughout the day.
This line of products is really different from other skin care brands. It is free of petrolatum, silicones, and dimethicones. These ingredients can give a false impression that the skin is hydrated by trapping moisture at the surface when it really is suffocating the skin and sending it into a state of dormancy. LaFlore’s ingredients allow the skin to breathe again by increasing the cellular oxygenation. When the skin is functioning at optimal levels, collagen and elastin synthesis occur and skin renewal and barrier functions are also improved as is one’s complexion.
As a blogger, I’m constantly trying new products and there are so many on the market that have such outlandish claims. But, I’m always interested in the little details and I’m absolutely amazed at how much my skin has improved since using these products.
All LaFlore products are plant-based, organic and ECOCERT (plant friendly). They are also cruelty-free and free of Soy & Gluten, Mineral Oil, Propylene Glycol/Butylene Glycol, Petrochemicals and Phthalate, Parabens, DEA, Sulfates, Irritants & Bleach and Diazolidinyl Urea Formaldehyde. The skin care line has two natural brighteners: The probiotic Moisturizer has pearls added to give an instant gratification effect and soon, the moisturizer begins to even the skin tone. Over the last month or so, I have found that I’m really enjoying this skincare line. It launched on September 16th and I have been loving it since the first day I started to incorporate it into my skincare regimen. For a 3-step system, it can be quite costly, but these products are not only concentrated, I’ve found that it’s offered wonderful results since I started using it. I’m a wholehearted believer that your skin is one of your biggest investments and I would definitely invest in LaFlore because I love the results I’ve received.

The daily defense moisturizer sounds great.
This was such an interesting and informative review, Honey. LaFlore skincare seems so different from other skincare regimens in so many ways. Not washing my face in the morning is one key way, lol! You and I have discussed taking probiotics for digestive issues, but I never really understood why probiotics for skincare till you explained how the skin has its own microbiome – got it. One question: you mentioned toward the beginning that “the probiotic is in a dormant “cry-like” state” – what does that mean, a “cry-like state”???
I copied the “cry link” from the brand information, but I’m thinking “cryo-like” state. I am not sure, so I figured not to correct it and be wrong. From what I gather, I believe it’s basically saying that the probiotic is basically in a cryogenic type state, or at least that’s how I got it in my head. lol
Sounds like this is loaded with excellent ingredients. What do you notice about the fragrance of it?
There is a perfume like fragrance with it, but I didn’t notice it too overbearing. It’s definitely prominent, but not too much. It reminds me some of my Derma E moisturizers, though in this line, it seems like the cleanser is the strongest. Neither of the products have fragrances that last too long though, which is a plus. I didn’t sneeze when using it the first few times, so I tend to not really think about it thereafter.
There’s no added fragrance! All scent comes naturally from the ingredients (like essential oils).
My skin could definitely use some energy to produce more collagen! These sound like wonderful products. I had not heard of the line before your review. I’ll check them out now.
I have never heard of this brand before, but it sounds like a very effective brand! I love that they use Aloe, rather than water, as its main ingredient!
I’m a huge fan of probiotics in my skincare – a probiotic cream cleanser from another brand has helped calm my skin a great deal.
I originally bought LaFlore Probiotic ceanser product for my girlfriend and I think I’m using it more then she does. fresh scent and does an excellent job of getting my face truly clean after a long day working outdoors. http://www.eyelash-growth.com
