Trying out face products is always an interesting task for me… mainly because I do not use Foundation, Face Primer, BB or CC Creams due to my Eczema. But I am always interested in learning about new products and who knows, I may come across a product that actually helps my skin condition instead of making it worst. Recently I had the opportunity to test out the Studio Gear Hydrating CC Color Correcting Cream and here are my thoughts on this product.
Studio Gear Hydrating CC Color Correcting Cream retails on Studio Gears site for $34.00 and includes 1.1 FL OZ (33 ML) of product. I received the color Natural, but this particular product comes in 3 different shades – Linen, Natural and Wheat. It includes an SPF of 20 and can be used over moisturizer or by itself and you can wear it beneath your foundation or alone. Since I do not use Foundation products – I chose to wear this product on its own without Foundation or Concealer over.
Hydrating CC Cream transforms and enhances your complexion in an incredibly light, smooth formula. This foundation simultaneously fights aging, retains moisture, and covers and treats blemishes with a non-oily, perfectly radiant finish.
Key Benefits:
- Protects: SPF 20 protects the skin, while Hydra-Extend technology provides moisture for up to 72 hours.
- Perfects: Enjoy natural looking coverage while micro-encapsulated pigments perfects and fade dark spots and acne scarring.
- Corrects: Anti-aging and collagen building ingredients help minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
- Hydrates: Hydra-Extend technology provides up to 72 hours of continuous hydration.
- Conceals: Micro encapsulated pigments deliver a fresh dose of color that adapts to your own skin tone, creating the most natural looking coverage.
- Smoothes: Skin nourishing ingredients help to correct and maintain youthful complexion.
The photo above shows me without the product on my face. As you can see I do have a little bit of discoloration near my mouth (due to past extreme Eczema flare ups), but for the most part, my face is in pretty good shape. I applied the CC Cream directly onto my face using my finger tips. From the swatches below – the cream actually comes out of the tube looking white. When taking a closer look at the cream you will see that it has little specks of color that become much more visible as you rub and blend the cream in. Once the cream is blended it turns into the shade you selected.
I have a warm skin tone, so cool toned products tend to stand out against my skin even if the shade match is on point. However, I did love that when blended – it did match my skin fairly well. I love how this product evened out my skin tone and provided me with a little bit of coverage in the areas that I had some acne scarring from years ago as well as my Eczema issues. The CC Cream did lighten my face up a bit so if I were to use this consistently, I would definitely have to bronze and contour to warm up the look of my face. I do love how even under flash from my camera – it did not lend for a heavy white cast that most face products with SPF do to me.
I have dry skin so I use moisturizer day and night to keep from my Eczema flaring up. This product did not compete with my moisturizer or cause my skin to be oily, however – it did lend for an almost dewy finish on my face immediately after application. Once the product dried (a couple of minutes after) the cream felt really nice on my skin and comfortable – I did not feel as dewy and definitely not oily. My face felt moisturized through the day and not oily at all. Since I do not use face products like this I did have a little break out on my chin and one beneath my nose after using the product, but I attest it to the fact that my skin is not used to these products on my face any longer.

Overall I am pretty impressed with this product. There are several BB Creams on the market that I have tried before and they really leave my face looking ghostly in photographs or super oily and looking like a disco ball and this one didn’t do that. If I were to use Face Products consistently, I think this would be one I would continue to use.

I didn’t use foundations for a long time – the ones I’d tried in my youth left me feeling heavy or greasy. Now, I like a light product like a BB/CC cream best. I like how this one looks on you – sounds like one I may need to try!
I really enjoyed using it – sadly it will go into my drawer and I’ll probably only use it a few more times before tossing it out in a year. lol I just can’t handle face products like foundation and stuff on my face, it really does damage :/
I love color correcting creams. This looks great!
thank you 🙂
Sounds great! I don’t use BB or CC creams a lot either.
it works nicely. I just can’t use face products, I honestly think ladies don’t need it 😉
I think this looks really great on you. I need to find a new lighter weight foundation once it starts getting warmer out and BB creams are always a fave of mine. I’ll have to check this out!
thank you. 🙂 I don’t use them often or at all but so far this one is pretty nice.
I’ve used some Studio Gear items and they weren’t too bad at all. I like that this one gave you a slightly dewy look without being oily. Most “dewy” products leave my face feeling like an oil slick!
Dewy products make me look like a shiny disco ball so I’m glad this did not do that. 🙂
This CC Cream looks very natural!
it does and feels pretty good on the skin 😉
You face looks so even and smooth! 😀 Love it!
thank you 🙂
It looks really great on you while letting you remain looking like yourself. Big thumbs up from me.
thank you. I’m pretty impressed. Even if I know I will only use it a few times and it will stay in the drawer until I throw it out – at least I know I have that option 😉
