I have been told before that I am often at the end of hair envy from friends and family members, but like I’ve said in previous posts – I really did not embrace my crazy curly and long hair until a few short years ago. Gone are the days of continuous heat to keep my hair straight in order to keep it down and now while I still love wearing my hair in a bun, I try to keep it down and long as much as possible. But the upkeep of long hair is difficult and sometimes takes a toll on me and my ever evolving hair regimen. Recently I dove into the hair supplement trend, testing out different products to see if they would meet my expectations. Over the last year I have tried several different hair growth and rejuvenating supplements and I’m not gonna lie, they all have definitely improved the texture and overall appearance of my hair. Over the last month my most recent test has been with the Hair La Vie Revitalizing Hair Blend and I’ve been pretty impressed so far with the results.
Formulated with all-natural ingredients to help repair and stimulate your hair’s growth from the inside out, Hair La Vie retails for $39 for a 30 day supply. If you are looking to purchase more at any given time, they do offer discounted rates for more bottles. La Muse’s Hair La Vie encourages hair repair and growth with it’s 16 all natural clinically proven ingredients that helps damaged, thinning and balding of your natural hair. Suggested use is to take 2 capsules daily with meals – one in the morning and one in the evening. The pills are a little larger than I like, so splitting them up and taking one capsule at a time really does make a difference.
Each capsule or the bottle when you open it up does have a scent to it (like that of vitamins) so if you are a bit sensitive to smell, you definitely want to keep that in mind. They are easy to swallow which makes it easy to take and I like that they are made in the USA.
How Hair La Vie Works
Our special blend of antioxidants starts nourishing and cleansing your scalp by combining our vitamins B2, B3 and B6 with Pantothenic acid. Next, we repair damaged follicles and roots with B1, folic acid, organic kelp powder and Saw Palmetto berry powder. Our MSM, vitamin A, horsetail herb powder and hydrolyzed collagen work together to help strengthen your hair and protect the cortex.
Hair La Vie includes key ingredients: Vitamin A, Biotin, Folic Acid, Hydrolyzed Collagen, B Complex Vitamins, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3 and B6, Pantothenic Acid, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), Kelp (Organic Kelp Extract), Saw Palmetto Berries, Horsetail (Equisetum Arvense) Herb, Bamboo Stem & Leaf Extract, Flax Seed Oil Powder and Borage Oil Powder.
Like most vitamin supplements, there is a slight after taste if you take too long to swallow the pill – though since I take vitamins on a daily basis – this did not affect me much. I definitely suggest swallowing quickly and make sure you take this pill with a good amount of water.
The photos above are provided to show the progress of this product over the last month. The one on the left was taken a few years ago, the one in the middle take about two weeks ago and the one on the right taken about two weeks ago as well. A few years ago after the birth of my twins, while I always have had thinner hair near the temples of my hair line, it was quite noticeable. Two weeks ago I took the other two photos and loved that I could see in the photos that my hair was thickening in that area as well as not looking so sparse. While I do attribute to the fact that I have been keeping up with my hair regimens and supplements over the last year – I wanted to note that these products have all contributed to my hair being thicker in those areas. I also love that I can see little hair in the hair line growing which makes it exciting to watch as it fills in.
Heredity, age, environment, hormones and even environment are contributors to thinning hair, lack of hair growth or even lack luster hair and sometimes everyone needs a little boost. Hair La Vie products help your hair from inside your body – but I also find that the vitamins help your body as well. My hair receives damage from being dyed and colored often but also because of my environment, past pregnancies and the fact that I can be a little more brutal on my hair than I should be. These supplements have helped to strengthen my hair, minimize breakage and while I haven’t noticed much length, it definitely has helped in regrowth of hair in areas where I had been thinning. What I love is that I haven’t noticed ANY additional or rapid growth in other areas of my body… i.e. Legs, underarms, facial hair or brows. All of those areas that would normally start growing faster with supplements actually didn’t grow any faster than its normal growth rate – MAJOR PLUS.
Every La Muse product comes with a 90 day money back guarantee. Also available to you for purchase from La Muse besides Hair La Vie is their Phyto Cera Cermide Capsules for skin and Certified Organic Moroccan Oil.
Have you tried a hair supplement before? What are you thoughts on using supplements in the process to hair growth or making your hair healthier?
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

That middle dark vampy look is so hot! It’s interesting that it has sea kelp.
thank you 😉 It’s from my Alice look 😉 I know – the sea kelp and horsetail was interesting to me.
I have not tried anything like this before. Glad to hear it didn’t speed up hair growth on the body, that was a concern of mine.
that was my biggest biggest concern in hair growth or supplements but I didn’t notice my hair getting any thicker or growing faster in the body areas 😉 thank goodness. lol
Interesting. I have tried a few vitamins for hair but haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary. I think my hair is already pretty healthy and maybe that’s why I don’t see the effects. I still take them because I think something good must be happening lol
I never notice that you really don’t color or add much heat to your hair, so those are all great things. I take a mult-vitamin daily already because my immune system is so whack… but these have also worked as added benefits for my body. I think that while you may not notice anything out of the ordinary – you may notice when you brush or wash your hair. When I first started taking supplements for hair, since my hair grows so fast, I never noticed a difference and then like I showed my hair near my temples started to thicken and the bald spot from pregnancy hair lost was not as visible. I also notice breakage is not bad… which became a problem with shedding and breakage after having my children. So I don’t necessarily notice the length so much because my hair hasn’t started growing faster than normal, but definitely the strength of my hair 😉
Hm. Maybe I need to try other vitamins because my hair is constantly falling out during washing and brushing and just basically living life LOL!
That’s awesome it doesn’t make “other” areas hair grow. That’s always a huge concern for me.
I have taken supplements and definitely noticed results.
I wonder how these would work on men or if they are specifically formulated for women? Either way, this sounds great. With my family history, I will be looking for a supplement in the next couple years.
I definitely believe in supplements for hair, nails, skin. Your hair is beautiful! And you are definitely rockin’ that navy blue lip! I can’t believe how great it looks on you. I look like death in blue 😉
thank you 🙂 It’s actually a black one from wet n wild fergie… called Pagan Angel. 😉
the pills look like horse pills! but if they work…
they kind of are… but luckily I already take a few big pills so it’s not too bad.
Ooh’ what is that lippie in the middle? So vampy! I’ve taken Biotin, but never really noticed any change in my hair.
thank you 😉 it’s called Pagan Angel – it’s a black from Wet n Wild Fergie Line. I came across it about a week before Halloween so I’m not sure if LE… I love it. I want to try mixing it with a red gloss… yeah, I went there… queen of mixing. lmao 😉
Vitamins are SO important for the hair!! I’ve been taking some myself… more to come tomorrow 😉
So far I’ve only tried Biotin…this sounds interesting!
I have curly hair and you’re right, it’s a chore! I used to straighten my hair daily when I was in high school, but ain’t nobody got time for that! I’ve embraced my curls, but usually tuck them in a bun because of frizz. Glad these have worked for you!
This sounds really good ! I need to experiment with hair vitamins more often.
I’m glad to hear you got results! My hair has definitely thinned out due to hormones and pregnancy. I need help!
These sound really interesting- especially since you’ve experienced real results. I take Biotin for my hair and nails but I’ll have to keep these in mind.
I need to try out hair vitamins. Ever since my schedule got out of hand and sleep went for a toss, my hair has thinned 🙁
I have to try some kind of new hair vitamins, because the ones I´m taking right now are just useless :S
I’ve never tried vitamins for hair but it looks great!
The horsetail ingredient does concern me a little. I know it says herb powder but what is that exactly? I’ve never heard of it before.
lol It sounded weird to me too, but I google it and found out that it’s a harmless plant. look: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-843-horsetail.aspx?activeingredientid=843&activeingredientname=horsetail
I just take my vitamin B but you look great.
Sounds interesting! I definitely don’t need to add any more thickness to my hair, but if I did I would try these for sure!
Sounds like it works nicely for you! I am so afraid of any of these in case hair grows/get thicker anywhere else (like my face!)
Hi! that’s funny haha cause I was also worried about the same! but my doctor told me not to worry at all, cause Hair La Vie only uses natural ingredients that focus mainly on cleaning your scalp which cause the hair in your head to grow faster. No hair vitamin will make a dramatic change in your body hair.
I also called the Hair La Vie customer service and they were super nice answering all my concerns. 🙂 I’m in love with this brand haha
You always have the best hair stuff!
I’m glad the product is working for you – I can definitely see the difference!
This looks like it worked great for you!
Your hair is awesome, and I’m glad that this is working for you!
I need to look into these, my hairline has also thinned after the birth of my daughter. For that reason I got side bangs to cover the thinning out on the right side. It drives me nuts, because the rest of my hair is still thick. Great review!
Hi Julie. first of all, I love your blog! <3 Did you end up trying Hair La Vie? I read great reviews about the vitamins and I'm thinking about buying them. I cut my hair some months ago and it's not growing back.. I'm desperate. I miss my long hair..lol
I would have been concerned about hair growing in places I didn’t want it too lol! But this sounds great, your hair always looks fab in your photos, regardless though!!!
The only hair supplement I tried was just a plain ol’ Biotin, and it worked well for me.
Wow! Sounds amazing
I never tried a hair supplement, because I don’t feel the need for it now, but I can imagine that when hormones impact the thickness that need could change!
Sounds like an amazing product. I’ve been using supplements (Aviva) for quite some time now! Love em!
Hi!!! I actually looked into Aviva before starting Hair La Vie a few months ago. My doctor told me Aviva wasn’t the all natural because of the cheap fillers like titanium dioxide, lecithin (which has soy so I couldn’t have it anyways) and silicon dioxide and chromium. I had no idea. I’m going to be hella more careful from now on whne looking for supplements. You should too!
Thanks for your opinion, but Aviva works just fine for me.
I’ve never used a supplement but I lose hair like a mad man so maybe this would help!
Hair supps are one thing I do not need!! Very cool that you liked it!
Love that vampy center look!
I use the Hair, Skin & Nails supplement from the drugstore and found it really helps!
I would be careful with the over-the-counter stuff unless you know it is all-natural. I used to take one that said it was all-natural and my doctor had to sit me down and explain it had magnesium stearate, silica dioxide and article flavoring (which has been linked to cancer). Watch out for crap. Always read the bottom part of the label in little writing, that’s where they get you.
These may or may not work. But if they don’t work for you good luck getting your money back. This company lied to my bank that they never received my product back. I tracked the package so I know they received it. I called and left messages and sent an email with no response. Customer service was useless and did not help me at all. Beware of this company. I don’t want anyone else to get ripped off $200.00.
I just stumbled across this and…it sounds kind of ridiculous. I have ordered with them at least 4 times and have never had an issue with my bank or reaching their customer service. This sounds fishy to me.
I never said they wouldn’t be willing to take your money for the product. My particular issue came with returning the product. Them telling me they had the product back. And not recieving my money back. The product may work well. I purchased it but then was wary of taking so much Vitamin A so I returned it. I eat lots of vegtables and fruits with vitamin A and vitamin A was very high in it.
I heard Vitamin A can actually cause hair loss, so why would it be included in this product ? Also, with products like this one available now, why is minoxidil still considered the only product proven to grow back hair?
