It is not often that I purchase a palette and find almost immediately that I am a huge fan, but the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Dress Your Face Palette has been one of those palettes that I immediately crushed on.  I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t really intrigued by it when I first seen it released.  I thought to myself… eh, I’ll skip this one, but decided to cash in on a discount I had and it was a great investment.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette

SELF PURCHASED / AFFILIATE LINKS

Anastasia Beverly Hills does it again with a collaboration with Makeup Artist Tamanna Roashan, also known as Dress Your Face on social media. This collection of shadows includes Tamanna’s “must have” shades to achieve her most requested looks that can easily be paired with any skin tone.  A combination of warm and cool tones combined to create anything from smoky eyes to intricate cut creases and everything in between can be accomplished using this palette.

At $29.00 this palette is a HUGE steal – including ten show stopping shades.  This is my third eye shadow palette produced by Anastasia Beverly Hills and quite honestly my favorite.  Be sure to click and watch the video embedded below for a live review and my thoughts on this palette or click here to watch directly on YouTube.

Already a show stopper, this gorgeous palette with a cover design that makes you intrigued, includes highly pigmented shadows from stunning neutrals to shimmering jewel tones that are really easy to blend and definitely fun to work with.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette

If you are someone who loves neutral shades but are looking for a palette that may offer you a little pop of color, I think this would be a great find for you.  It is a rare thing for me to find a small palette that offers a matte browbone highlight shade, a deep matte black and then a good transition shade and this palette offers Fresh which is a matte browbone shade I like to use, Bengal which I use as the perfect transition and then Noir or Chocolate which will help to deepen the outer V or crease.  The rest of the shades are bonuses.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette
Left to Right – Fresh, Blush, Venezia, Gilded, Custom
Left to Right - Sangria, Bengal, Chocolate, China Rose, Noir
Left to Right – Sangria, Bengal, Chocolate, China Rose, Noir

In my swatches Sangria shows up a lot less pigmented then it really is so I’ve included makeup looks with the colors in this palette so you can see how they look on the eyes.  Below I am using Sangria all over the lid and while it is used over a base, the color is very vibrant naturally in comparison to the swatch which became washed out due to lighting.  Sorry about that.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette
Sangria on my lid, Noir on the Outer V, Bengal as transition shade, Chocolate in the crease, Fresh as browbone highlight and Venezia as inner corner highlight.

Fall Berry Smokey Eye

I also used the Tamanna palette to recreate this look (above) and again, as you can see, the color is quite bold when taken in proper lighting.  Tutorial for this look can be found here.

Considering there are a plethora of palettes on the market today all ranging in prices and some quite on the high end price spectrum, I definitely suggest this palette for anyone looking to add a new makeup palette to your list.  With the holidays so quickly approaching, this would be a great gift for any makeup lover on your Christmas list and of course – a great palette for you too.

This is still available at Anastasiabeverlyhills.com and Ulta.com.  Get up to 6% cash back if you sign up with Ebates right now (click here) and purchase on Ulta.com.

Do you own this palette?  If not, is this something you have on your holiday wish list?

It’s absolutely too cold to be going out for a run or dressing up to go to the gym… or at least that is my opinion, lol.  But, while it’s too chilly we shouldn’t neglect our exercise, or family time for that matter.  Since the boys and I tend to be on our own while my husband is at work we find ourselves exploring or often times going on walks, but the colder months make it a little more difficult.  Well, luckily we have a little fun and easy way to get our exercise in as well as family time.  One of our favorite workouts comes from moving along with the Just Dance 2015 Game for Wii.  Since my family loves music and loves to dance, this is fun in a case and we love it.

Just Dance 2015

Just Dance 2015 is the perfect game to get the whole family up and moving. With a fresh tracklist of more than 40 of the hottest hits and throwback tunes, there’s something for everyone! Players can dance along to hit songs like “Problem” by Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea and “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, or classic favorites like “Walk This Way” by Run DMC & Aerosmith.

As a family we have really enjoyed the Just Dance games over the years and were super excited to get our groove on to the 2015 game.  In our opinion, while each song is definitely a hit and gets our heart pumping and our bodies moving, a few of our favorites include:

  • Pharrell Williams – Happy
  • Dead Or Alive – You Spin Me Rount (Like a Record) *A Personal Favorite since that is from my “Dancing Queen” era. lol
  • Maroon 5 – Maps
  • Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora – Black Widow

Just Dance 2015

Since all three of my children love to dance, just like their parents – when the disc gets put into the game console, everyone eagerly awaits their turn and then goes for it when it’s their time.  My ten year old loves the music selection since many of the songs are popular with he and his friends and the twins, they just love to rock out – dancing the night away while we all get some extra exercise in and our body moving for some extra cardio.  Just Dance 2015 is a great way to get the entire family on their feet for some exercise in disguise—have fun while burning calories!

Just Dance 2015

The Just Dance 2015 release includes new songs and fun wacky choreography to keep you moving and dancing to the beat of your own drum… but most importantly, it’s fun and keeps us active during this time of year when going out to play is not as feasible.

To bring awareness to National Bullying Prevention Month, Just Dance 2015 and Stomp Out Bullying have partnered to show people everywhere that “it’s okay to dance to your own beat!”

Purchase Just Dance 2015 available now on Amazon for Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.  Depending on your system and console, pricing can and will vary.

Get your fun and dance on with your family and friends and dance to the beat of your own drum with Just Dance 2015.

I think brows are the basis to every and all makeup looks – but I’ll be honest, since my brows are already pretty full, I usually tend to comb them in place, set them with a wax or gel or shade them in just a bit and I’m out the door.  I have used many different brow products in the past, but I’m always on the hunt for an easy to use, long lasting brow powder, gel or wax that will keep my brows in place.  Today I bring to you a simple pictorial featuring the Paula Dorf 2+1 For Brows kit and show you quickly how I create my statement brows.

Paula Dorf 2+1 for brows

PRESS SAMPLE

Since I have dark hair, I chose the Brunette 2+1 by Paula Dorf, but the kits come in four different shades for that perfect statement brow look that matches your hair color.  Retailing for $26.00 the set includes 0.017oz / .5g (wax) and 0.07oz / 2g (powder) comprising of a trio that is perfect to create long lasting brows.

Paula Dorf 2+1 for brows

The brow and wax set comes with two complimentary brow shades and one wax.  The brow powders are very smooth in texture and apply very nicely with great pigmentation in one swoop.

Paula Dorf 2+1 for brows

To shape and add body to my brows I follow this routine:

  • Using a brow brush or spoolie, I comb my brows into the shape I would like them to be.
  • Then I take the darkest shade of the brow powders and use this to define my brow shape.  Using an angled brow brush I apply the shade to carve out my brows on the top and bottom.  This will give my brows definition.
  • With the lighter brow shade, I now shade in my brows.  This will allow the brows to be colored in but not look too bold or artificial.
  • Blend the darker shade and the lighter shade on your brows so that there are no harsh lines.
  • Brush through your brows once again with a spoolie to make sure you are blending the brow powders with your natural brows creating a softer look.
  • Set in place with the brow wax and you are good to go.

Paula Dorf 2+1 for brows

If I am in the mood for a darker brow, I simply use just the dark brow powder instead of blending in the lighter shade and define my brows that way.

Paula Dorf 2+1 for brows

Overall I’m pretty impressed with this brow set.  If there was one thing I would like to critique, I think that the brow wax a little thinner for my liking because once I set it down on my brows, I noticed that it started to melt a little and then it didn’t stay in place as long as I would like.  But, I do like the brow set, the colors work really well with my hair color as well as my complexion and I love the feel of the brow powders, very soft and blend-able.

Right now, buy the Paula Dorf 2+1 For Brows set and get a free brush with your purchase.  Use Code BROWBRUSH at check out.

I have used many different brow products in the past and I’m always intrigued by the different styles and types that are rolled out.  What are your favorite brow enhancers or products?  Are there any you simply can’t live without?

For a few months now since the original sneak peaks were released, I have been anticipating the Lorac Mega Pro Palette going on sale.  I stayed up most of the night waiting for the release of the Lorac Mega Pro and was lucky to get me a palette off of their Amazon website.  It was shipped quickly and delivered within five days of my order which I thought was an absolute plus.  Not to mention it also arrived in tact considering I have been told that many of my friends received their Amazon orders damaged due to the packaging the palette was shipped in.  I was a bit bummed to hear that the product itself had sold out and that it would not be released again on Lorac’s site, but I’m not gonna lie… I’m happy that I got my hands on one.  This palette is literally turning into one of my favorites.

Lorac Mega Pro

SELF PURCHASED

The Lorac Mega Pro retailed for $59.00 and comes with a total of 32 shades.  The palette itself is similar in look and feel of the Lorac Pro and Lorac Pro 2 but includes twice as much shades as the original two palettes released.  This palette includes a combination of matte and shimmer/metallic shades and a range of neutrals and a few pops of color that can compliment any eye look or makeup collection.

Lorac Mega Pro

This palette includes a few shades that are in repeats from the Pro and Pro 2 palettes like White, Cream, Espresso, Black – four shades that they label “must-have basics”.  The other shades are 28 brand new exclusive shades to this palette.

Lorac Mega Pro

Just like Lorac Pro palettes 1 and 2 – the Mega Pro includes beautifully pigmented and buttery shades.  That’s one of the reasons they are some of my favorites.  The quality of each shadow is the same as you would expect and applying and blending the shades are a dream… easy and effortless.  I love eye shadows that are buttery because it makes blending a little easier and there is something about the Lorac Matte shades in these Pro palettes that are unexplained… they blend so easily without sticking – if that makes any sense.

Lorac Mega Pro

There is a mix of cool and warm tones through out the palette but what I love about this palette specifically is that range of warm tones and cool tones.  This would be a great palette for a makeup artist kit.  I also love that each shade name is labeled directly on the palette – so there is no guessing.  Mattes are on the top two rows, shimmer/metallic shades on the bottom two rows making it easy to work with.

Lorac Mega Pro

If you are not familiar with using any of the shades from either of the Lorac Pro palettes, I do want to warn you… the shimmer shades are super buttery which offer a softer texture than what most people are used to.  It can also give you quite a bit of fall out if you are not careful – so make sure to tap off your brush before applying to your eye lids.

My favorite shades through out the palette include:  Mulberry (matte), Dusty Plum (matte), Wisteria (matte), Cashmere (shimmer), Smokey Topaz (shimmer), Maroon (shimmer), though I’ll be honest and say choosing a few favorites was quite difficult.  If there was one shade I am not too keen about… it would be Lilac (matte) because I think it is just too light against my skin, though I still use it.

Overall I think this palette really impressed me as much as I knew it would.  As much as I love it, I’m a bit disappointed that it was not available longer or that there wasn’t a larger stock considering the hype this product received.  In all honesty, I think this palette would make a great part of the Lorac’s permanent line and it would be a great addition if they decided to make it such, that is my hope anyway.

Did you have the opportunity to get your hands on a Mega Pro?  If so – what are you thoughts?  If not, what Limited Edition palettes do you have your eyes on for the Holidays?

It’s taken me many years of masking my curly hair before I finally learned to embrace it and it has been a long journey of learning about my curls and how I should care for them.  Between dealing with split ends, dry hair due to years of coloring, bleaching, hot tools or sun damage, my curls and hair have definitely seen the depths of crazy hair hell and I’m always looking for a fix-all cure-all product to use.  Let’s face it, Women crave beautiful, silky hair but don’t want it weighted down by heavy products that claim to nourish and add shine.  The struggle… is definitely REAL, until now!

Dove Pure Dry Oil Collection

Long curly hair is not the easiest to style or even deal with on the daily, but it’s the hair I have and I have been doing everything I can in my power to embrace my natural “curly goddess tresses”.  I have spent a lot of money trying to find products that will offer my hair great body, enhance my curls and keep my hair feeling and looking luxurious and it’s been a long hard battle.  But, after just one use of the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil collection, I knew I had found a new friend for my hair.

Dove Pure Dry Oil Collection

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil collection is ideal for all hair types and delivers five times silkier hair (after just one wash).  Five times silkier hair when using the system of shampoo, conditioner and treatment vs. non-conditioning shampoo.  These products nourish hair without making it feel greasy or heavy.  Proven to absorb quickly, the dry oil features a blend of African Macadamia oil and coconut oil.  Let me just say my love for Macadamia oil and coconut oil in hair products was intensified with this product.  It smells… mmm mmm wonderful, I couldn’t stop smelling my hair and instantly I felt my hair feel so soft even after a color treatment that had my  hair feeling coarse, this took my hair to a softer silkier feel than I have had in a while.  Let me just say… I can’t keep my hands off my hair – lol.

Dove Pure Dry Oil Collection

Being a huge fan of Dove products I knew I would enjoy these and I think I found a new favorite for my hair arsenal. Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment with African Macadamia Oil is a lightweight oil treatment that is non-greasy with high nourishing properties.  It instantly helps to replenish lipids, softens and adds shine.  This stuff absorbs into your hair so quickly without that funky heavy weight oily feeling you can get with other products and it leaves your hair soft and luxurious.  Honestly, as much as I love using pure organic oils directly, I think I found a new love.
