I posted on my Instagram a few weeks ago that I would have a review and swatches up of the new L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints, but I just didn’t get around to posting it so I’m doing it now.  A few months ago I posted my review and swatches of the original six glazed lip paints which you can read here, and while these little tubes of colors are certainly affordable, that doesn’t take away from how nice they are.  I introduce to you the additional 12 shades that was added to the line about 2 months ago which includes shades that I have been wearing a lot lately.

L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints

I’ve been enjoying myself with all the shades and love that they are easily layered and mix nicely.  Overall I think that the new shades offer much more selection which is great.  Check out my live swatches in the video embedded below or click here to watch directly on YouTube.

Whisper, Elude, Flirt, Whimsical, Tango and Peony (left to right).

For the first set of Glazed Lip Paints are the softer shades.

As you can see from the shades, these tones have white hues to them, making them easy to use year round but what I love to do is take these shades and blend them with the darker hues to offer a customized color blend but also making the darker shades a little more wearable.

My favorite from this set of six would be Elude.  This is not a shade I would use often and in fact, if I did it would probably be something I would use more during the Spring and Summer months, but it applies nicely on my lips and I can easily soften the look for an every day lip look.  I didn’t think I would like this Nude/Coral blend, but I have been enjoying it.

Next are the six shades that are a little more on the bold side.  I love the colors in this set because they are bold, most of them offer that gorgeous rich deep purples that I love and the colors are perfect for Fall.  If I had to select one shade that would be my absolute favorite it would be a mix between Seduce, Daring and Tempt but Daring would be my absolute favorite.  I am not a huge fan of Tease because it does have small silver glitters within it and I feel like it just doesn’t look good on my lips, though I’m sure someone would rock it out better than me.

Just like the original six that was released in Spring, these offer a gloss like texture without the sticky feeling and have that tingle minty feel that I like because it is not overpowering and nice on the lips.  I love how these glide on and found that when applying with a doe foot applicator, they actually apply much nicer on the lips than with a lip brush or directly from the glazed lip paint tube.  Just as before in my original review, these just didn’t have the longevity on my lips and if I drink or eat anything, they wipe off quite easily… I get probably 2 hours max use out of these if I’m talking quite a bit.  Does that stop me from using them?  No, especially with these new additions (the deep plum/purple shades) I have become even more of a fan.

LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint Daring

I wish these had a little longer lasting power on my lips, but like I mentioned, I do love them.  I have been using Daring and Tempt pretty often in the last couple of weeks.  While the deeper shades do not stain, I do notice that they live a light hue on my lips with remnants of the shade.  I love that my lips do not feel dry and when the product is on my lips, it feels really nice.  I do recommend a lip liner because these don’t really bleed, but do have slip so without a liner, the color does move.  Overall though, I’m still impressed and enjoy them.  For $4.00 – that’s a steal.

Each tube has 0.40 fl oz / 12 mL included and can be purchased at LA Girl’s Website or at select retail locations that sell the brand.  Shipping to Hawaii is very expensive from the site and I haven’t been able to find this brand here so I purchased these from a reputable seller on ebay for a discount.

Have you tried any of these Glazed Lip Paints?  Are the new additions to the collection shades that you would be interested in?  Comment and let me know.

  1. They are so pretty! Tango is absolutely gorgeous on you, but I love the plums/purples too! I didn’t realize they had so many new colors. Thanks for the great swatches!

  2. Dang girl! I have yet to find these! I’m sort of a hand-on type person. I don’t buy anything completely new to me online unless it’s absolutely necessary lol

These all look so beatiful on you. I can see why you have so many colors.

    • girl… believe me when I say/… I know you do 😀 Get some that you will like, they would be fab for your kit I’m sure.

    • I ordered off of ebay to get mine… shipping to Hawaii is ridiculous. See if you can find a reputable seller on ebay or amazon – I’m sure you would love them 🙂

These looks great on you. I’m reading good things about the product, not so much about the applicator! Lip brushes, up! 🙂

  6. That is a great variety of colors and I kind of love the packaging 🙂 Fun that they’re so customizable, too.

Wow, look at all those shades! I had no idea LA Girl had that many in their collection already! Unfortunately, I can’t wear them because of the peppermint oil, but I recommend them every chance I get to women who can. At this price, I think it’s OK if you have to reapply a little more often than the pricey ones. LOVE that magenta shade on you!!

    • I remember you saying the last time about the peppermint oil… such a bummer. :/ But definitely a great price point and selection 🙂 thank you Allison.

Oh my, I love these. Like, I really love these. All these different shades and I am ok with the 2 hour wear. I am one of those people that like to reapply the lippy during the day sometimes.

    • the price point is great and makes it so easy to collect, ya know. I love blending some shades together. Not keen on the wear, but at the price, worth it 🙂

  10. These seem like such great dupes for the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, and the packaging looks almost identical too!

Beautiful lip shade on you in the last photo. These look great for the price, just wish they had some better staying power.

  12. I wish we had this brand in Canada, it would be fun to try a few of these. I also prefer the bolder colours.

  13. Wow these look so pretty. I’m a sucker for that packaging! They sound like my type of product, I just wish we had this brand here!

    • We don’t have this brand here either… so I order online. I wish it were easier to find. Wish we had an Ulta here too but oh well :/

  14. They look great on you, especially the darker jewel tones. I bought some from Groupon, but they’re sitting in my untried pile..

    • Ack… I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the ones you got… I hear so many positives but a lot of people say it lasts longer on them then on me. I moisturize my lips, exfoliate… the normal stuff… so I don’t know. Maybe I kiss my husband too much….? Wait, no – never enough. lol

    • there is only one shimmer which is that bold almost neon pink… otherwise the rest are that opaque shine. I think the dark lips would be so nice on you. 🙂
