Be My Valentine!

Be My Valentine - Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

Valentine’s Day is just a few short weeks away.  Most you know – I have a huge crush on anything that has to do with “being in love” and this Holiday is no exception.  Since I came up short with doing any Valentine’s Day tutorials last year (I only posted looks), I decided that it would be best to start early this year.  I am also entering this look into the Ipsy January Look Challenge since I was able to utilize products from the January Ipsy Bag.  This will also be the first tutorial using the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette (review coming soon).

So have you put any thought into what you are going to be doing this Valentine’s Day?  My husband will be working the night shift so my sons and I will be having a nice little dinner at home.  While I’ll miss my husband tremendously (I’m one of those gushy romantics), I know that everyday is Valentine’s Day for us and I’m lucky that he makes me feel special each and every day!

Be My Valentine - Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

I wanted this look to be very easy to recreate and wearable.  While the liner is a bit on the bold and dramatic side, this look will offer a bit of sexy and sultry but without all the effort.  You can surely add blush/bronzer if you wanted to – but I decided to opt out of that in this look.  I promise to have at least one more Valentine’s Day tutorial posted in the next two weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy or learning more about it – click on my link here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/1o41  For just $10 a month you get a cosmetic bag filled with 4-5 products.  In the past I have gotten goodies from Urban Decay, Sexy Hair, NYX, and so much more.

Wishing you all a wonderful Valentine’s Day – whether you are Single or In-Love… make it an awesome day!

I think nothing of spending an hour doing nail art, but using 5 lip products for one look I find really intimidating! lol! I like the result, but I need fewer lip products. lol. Nice tutorial, Honey!

    • Trust me… I think I find 5 lip products pretty intimidating too. I had a color in my mind of how I wanted my lips to look and the colors I had in mind to use were not doing it for me. lol 😉 I swear… story of my life. lmao 🙂 Thank you!

Such a gorgeous look, love your photos great background and lighting, too!

    • thank you so much Tina. I use natural lighting… I try to shoot my photos about 4pm in the afternoon so the sun is not so bright… but still slightly shoot in the shade. 😉

  3. Great tutorial! I’m not one of those people that looks good with bright makeup, but I love watching these tutorials. Good luck with that contest, I’ll be rooting for you!

    • thank you 🙂 I normally don’t use anything bright this time of year… I love my reds, burgundy and dark lips… but I don’t know why I have been feeling the whole pinkish/orchid/purple thing lately. Thank you Anastasia 😉

  4. This is a drop dead gorgeous look!! Your wing is fab and i LOVE that purple lip!! <3

Love your winged liner. 🙂 I wish that it worked with hooded lids.

    • I have slightly hooded lids and I swear it can be a pain in my behind… so I totally understand. Thank you so much 🙂

  6. I like that the look isn’t a conventional pink, it’s a really nice mix of an orchid purple!

    • thank you Mai. I try my best to do a few different looks and try to include at least one kind of wearable one. I also think while pink is great for valentine’s day, sometimes over played. 😉 thank you!
