As most of you know who follow my personal life – my eldest plays Popwarner Football and has been keeping us busy running around to practice and games for the last couple of months. Any parent who has a child that plays sports knows that you need to not only buy lots of different gear and protection for your children, but also need to ensure that your child is well hydrated. We bought my son one of those large one gallon Coleman water jugs to keep with him during practice and games to help keep him hydrated, but we noticed that the regular size ice cubes we were putting in there, was melting quickly. Thank goodness for the Jumbo Size. We have been using Jumbo Silicone Ice Cube Molds as his ice cubes to help keep his ice cold, especially since it has been so hot lately. My son loves it. The four ice cubs is just about as much as 8-10 regular sized ice cubes and since they have their large size, they do not melt as quickly as the smaller ones.
We fill each ice cube mold to the top with distilled or filtered water and freeze over night. By the next day – we have giant cubes that are perfect for our water jugs. The cubes don’t fit in my 40 oz. Hydroflask, but the fact that they can be used in a wide mouth or large opening container works well for us. The silicone mold makes it easy to remove and easy to fill.
