No matter what time of the year or what season, my hair will certainly prove to have a mind of its own. From a full head of frizz to lack luster locks, loss of shine and even days when my natural curls lose their oomph and fall flat… my hair loves showing me who is boss and who runs the show sometimes. But, when times like this are in demand, I make sure to fight back with hair products and a whole lot of hair love to rescue my locks and show it who’s boss. Over the years, as a beauty blogger, I have had the opportunity to try many different hair care products – many I absolutely love and some fall short but I’m still thankful for these opportunities because I have been able to learn how to care for my hair properly, treat it well and in turn, my hair looks great. Today I’m going to share with you a hair care line that I have been loving – Nexxus Oil Infinite System and how it has rescued my hair.
When it comes to hair care, I’m all about simplicity and affordability. Yes, I will admit that I indulge in hair products that can be costly, but if I can find a favorite brand or product at the drugstore store for half the cost or less… I’ll be the first person in line to pick it up. The Nexxus Oil Infinite Oil Infusing System consists of three hair loving products that will really rescue your hair from damage while protecting it as well. This oil infusing system is perfect for dull hair (which I tend to have as we transition in seasons from Winter/colder months to Spring and Summer) and helps you to regain control of your unmanageable locks. The line is specifically formulated using concentrated, 100% pure Elastin Protein and natural Babassu and Marula Oils to help renew your hair’s texture and restore its smooth, sleek, fluid beauty.
Step One: Nexxus Oil Infinite Shampoo ($9.97 – 400 mL/13.5 fl.oz.) This Oil Infinite Shampoo helps to rebalance your hair while cleansing and replenishes lipids to help nourish your hair within. It’s unique technology infuses the oils (Babassu and Marula) into the hair to help with unmanageable, rough hair that you can sometimes get after coloring, treatment or after the harsh and colder winter months. This shampoo helps to restore softness, reduce frizz and make your hair much more manageable. Since I want to protect my curls and keep them hydrated, moisturized and frizz free, I tend to gravitate to products that not only help to cleanse and replenish nutrients, but also leave my hair weightless, so that my natural curls don’t fall out or go limp. I also look for products that are silicone-free, which this one is… allowing my hair to be primed for rich conditioning in the next step.
This shampoo is thick in texture since it contains a concentration of pure protein and conditioning polymers, but it leaves my hair feeling soft after just one use. I love that this product helps to decrease the frizz and helps to relieve my hair when it starts to feel and look dry. Furthermore, the scent of this shampoo is great… I can smell these products in my hair until my next wash – not that it’s a bad thing, of course.
Step Two: Nexxus Oil Infinite Conditioner ($14.97 – 400mL / 13.5 fl.oz.) This Oil Infinite Conditioner is also enriched with great oils like Babassu and Marula as well as the concentrated 100% Pure Elastin Protein. The conditioner is infused with these precious oils to help seal in rich luminosity, protect the hair and really restore the lipid layer of hair. I love that this conditioner helps to add a protective barrier to my hair by using targeted micro silicons that intelligently deposit only where they are needed on the hair fiber. You have a conditioner that seals in the nourishment, smooths your hair without that funky, heavy residue and leaves your hair balanced and flexible.
I especially enjoy using this conditioner for untangling or finger combing my hair in the shower. It’s thick enough to really coat the hair but still has enough slip to allow me to work my fingers through my hair easily to untangle each strand. And, like the shampoo, this conditioner smells really good too. Working together with the shampoo, this conditioner provides a balance that those at Nexxus call… “the perfect equilibrium”.
Lastly, Step Three: Nexxus Oil Infinite Nourishing Hair Oil ($13.47 – 100 mL / 3.38 fl.oz.) This Oil Infinite Nourishing Hair Oil is infused with a rich 6 oil blend, including pure Amazonian Babassu Oil which is known to be used for generations as a rich emollient and African Marula Oil which is renowned for its healing properties. This rich, versatile oil infusion encapsulates the hair, nourishes deep within the hair shaft and replenishes the lipid layer on the surface to help reduce frizz, enhance softness and improve your hair’s manageability. It is the perfect hair oil to help your hair if your have rough or coarse locks and if you are looking for a smooth texture, added shine and overall luster.
I LOVE the scent of this product and one to two pumps is more than enough to work through my long hair… starting from the ends and working the product through the lengths up my hair shaft and ending at my roots. It’s a light weight hair oil, so your hair will not lose it’s volume if you use the right amount and I love to use this product through out the week, between washes to help revive, refresh and tame my frizz.
If you are looking to revive and rescue your hair, whether you color it like me or you just want to add more shine and luster, you need to head on over to your local Walmart or Walmart.com and check out the Nexxus Oil Infinite Oil Infusing System. This hair care line is pretty awesome, restoring your hair to greatness and all at an affordable cost.

“This post was sponsored by Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture, all thoughts and opinions are my own.” The Winter months tend to take its toll on my hair…
A few months ago, I was introduced to LATHER, a skincare brand that maintains that… “It’s what’s inside that counts.” After having the opportunity to try one of their soaps and a yummy scented candle, I knew that LATHER would be a brand that I would enjoy. Today, I am sharing with you a few items from the line that I have been enjoying as well as a little about the company and who they are. LATHER’s motto is “Clean skin for a radiant life” and their products offer a variety of different skin loving ingredients and essential oils that help to do just that.
LATHER started as a dream by Emilie Davidson who suffered from migraines and had a passion for aromatherapy and a growing passion and interest in skin care. Emilie took this interest into action by starting LATHER which originally included a small line of pure olive oil soaps which quickly gained a cult following. From a one person operation to a full-fledged business now offering body, face, hair and home products, Emilie opened the first LATHER store in Pasadena in 1999. Now, almost 20 years later and LATHER is open in different states and sold in beauty boutiques, spas and hotels. Something that started as a passion is now what drives Emilie to provide outstanding products that really do make a difference. The mission of LATHER is to offer this awesome and superior body care experience by creating products using the best and highest quality natural ingredients while providing outstanding service that will not only treat the skin but educate the consumer.
The Coconut Creme Body Whip ($22.00 / Net. wt. 4oz) is one of my favorite products that I have tried so far. If you know anything about me, it’s that a product that smells like coconut and includes skin loving coconut oil is definitely something I will love and cherish. This product has stole my heart from the first use and it is one I know I’ll continue to use. This beautiful and silky whipped body creme feels wonderful on my skin and leaves my skin feeling moisturized while calming my eczema flare ups. With coconut oil to provide a light moisturization and aloe vera to provide calming relief to sensitive, irritated or sunburned skin – this body whip is the perfect product for spring or summer months as you get over the winter dry skin spells. Paraben Free and formulated with precious essential oils like tonka bean, patchouli, geranium and vanilla – this body whip has a light but prominent sweet warm scent. If you are sensitive to fragrances, I think this may be a winner. It’s lightly scented and never affects my allergies. To say I love this product is an understatement. My skin is soft for hours and in some cases I need not apply anymore body creme for 24 hours or more because my skin is still soft and moisturized.
The Coconut Foaming Body Scrub ($21.00 / Net. wt. 4oz) literally is my spa day at home product. This wonderful body scrub smells absolutely divine. I have stated this before, but I have a thing for sweet scents and this line has stolen my heart 10 fold. The scent is warm and sweet and reminds me of coconut, vanilla and a salted caramel. The scrub is super gentle and feels wonderful on my sensitive skin. It scrubs and cleanses at the same time as it exfoliates it works into a moisturizing and creamy lather. The body scrub includes natural exfoliants like coconut shell, jojoba beads, walnut shell, bamboo stem powder and minerals that help slough away the dead skin and rough dry patches on places like elbows, knees and feet. Formulated with sugar cane and mixed fruit extracts – this scrub boosts surface exfoliation with alpha hydroxy acids leaving your skin smooth and soft. This body scrub is paraben-free and sulface-free and I think anyone would enjoy it.
Since I have sensitive skin, I tend to steer clear of products with shells like walnut as the additive for exfoliating… but found that this scrub was very gentle and I not only enjoyed the way it felt on my skin, I loved how my skin felt once it was washed away. It’s easy to use… simply apply to your damp skin and rub in circular motions to work up a lather. Rinse well with warm water once done. Note – this is not to be used on the face.
The Yuzu Sugar Cane Body Buff ($21.00 / Net. wt. 4oz) smells like fresh Yuzu and citrus. As soon as you touch this body scrub, you can instantly feel the moisturizing oil blends that it’s formulated with. Made with pure can sugar to gently exfoliate the surface cells, this body scrub leaves your skin so smooth and soft but also very moisturized. It is formulated with a blend of essential oils including yuzu, mandarin orange, ylang ylang, litsea cubeba, jasmine and oakmoss. This is a spa-experience in a jar. This paraben-free scrub is the perfect product to use in the morning when you want a little pick me up (the scent just wakes you up) and leaves your skin so soft. I love it. The texture of this scrub is quite interesting as well – as it feels gel like and quite different from the Coconut Foaming Scrub. It’s cooling sensation and vibrant scent make it a great Spring and Summer must have. I find I love to use this product most on my elbows and on my feet. It’s perfect for flip flop and sandal wearing feet. Also formulated with safflower oil and plant phospholipids to soften the skin and create a breathable protective layer to lock in moisture. Massage this product into damp skin with gentle circular motions and rinse well with warm water.
The Muscle Ease Gel with Botanical Pain Relievers ($18.00 / Net. wt. 4oz) has been a lifesaver in the last month. With my husband’s aches and pains and my bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, we have both been in a bit of hurt. This product has helped to not only ease our pain but help offer us some much needed relief so we can tackle our day but also sleep at night. This herbal pain relieving gel is formulated with centuries-old plant extracts that are used by the native tribes of Northern Mexico to help relieve minor aches and pains of muscles and joints. It’s definitely fast acting and you can feel the gel begin to work immediately, once it is applied and massaged into the affected areas. You can experience unique cooling and heating on the skin. The first application I did on my husband, he said his skin felt like it was burning and tingling and a bit uncomfortable – but after that first use, he hasn’t had any issue with it. Some people will definitely react differently with this product as I felt a cooling sensation and some tingling, but only burning on certain areas of my body. Formulated with ingredients like menthol, camphor and capsaicin to help provide temporary relief of backaches, arthritis, strains, bruises and sprains, this product contains no waxes, oils, artificial colors or fragrance making it fast acting. It’s paraben-free and you really only need a small amount applied to the affected area no more than 3-4 times a day. Rub the product in well until the gel is absorbed and make sure to wash your hands well after applying.
Like with any product used to treat pain, this can feel differently for some versus others, so make sure to test a small amount of this product in a small area to see how it works for you. It definitely helped with pain relief – that’s for sure and it’s something we continue to use in our house.
Ingredients: Active ingredients: camphor 3%, menthol 3%
Inactive ingredients: aloe vera extract, capsaicin, carbomer, decyl polyglucose, deionized water, grapefruit seed extract, green tea extract, orange peel extract, queen of the prairie extract, rose water, sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, vegetable glycerin, witch hazel, yucca extract.
The Vanilla & Argan Lip Scrub ($10.00 / Net. wt. 0.8oz) is AMAZING. As a blogger who reviews beauty products, I have tried my fair share and more of lip scrubs. Heck, I have even made many of my own over the years. I have had my favorites and still continue to use them from time to time, but this is quite possibly one of my favorites to boot. This certified organic, lip-smoothing exfoliator uses sugar cane crystals to gently buff away flaky skin from dry, chapped lips. Its emollient-rich base is formulated with some of my favorite ingredients like honey (a natural humectant), argan, coconut and rosehip seed oils as well as vitamin E. It also includes beeswax to restore moisture and softness and provide a protective layer to help prevent future dehydration. It tastes and smells divine with a sweet and comforting vanilla scent that combines spearmint oil for a pleasant, light tingling sensation to softly plump lips. This lip scrub prepares your lips for a great application of lip color and it’s paraben-free.
You simply rub this product softly on the lips and remove with warm water. I love it. This lip scrub leaves my lips feeling smooth and soft and brings the juicy color back to my lips instantly. It plumps my lips softly (without any pain) making them look and feel like they are much younger than they are. This product is probably one of my favorites I’ve tried from LATHER and I think it will be a lip scrub I’ll continue to purchase for years to come. I’ve made my own for years and find this one to be quite wonderful!
The Daily Defense Facial Sunscreen with Aloe & Grape Seed ($24.00 / Net. wt. 2 fl.oz.) has a broad spectrum SPF 30 with UVA/UVB protection against sunburn, skin cancer and early skin aging cause by the sun. It combines the mineral sunscreen Titanium Dioxide with Octinoxate to provide protection for your skin. It is enriched with natural botanicals to soothe, hydrate and protect your skin from sun exposure. Free of synthetic fragrance, color and parabens, this product is specifically designed for the face.
Application is easy – simply apply to the face and massage into the skin. I like to use this product daily over my moisturizer and apply through out the day if I am in direct sunlight or extended periods of time. This product applies easily and doesn’t leave my face feeling oily (which I love). It has a light aloe like fragrance, nothing overpowering or funky at all… and the consistency of this product feels really nice on the skin.
Active ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (5%), Octinoxate (4%).
The Coconut Creme Body Wash ($18.00 / Net. Wt. 8oz) is a rich and creamy cleansing body wash. It feels luxurious on the skin and lathers up to leave you feeling clean and moisturized. This body wash gently removes the dirt and oil while still leaving your skin feeling soft and full of moisture. It is formulated with coconut oil to help provide light moisturization and aloe vera to provide calming relief to sensitive skin. It also includes shea butter to help soften, comfort and soothe your dry skin leaving your body feeling soft and smooth. This body wash is paraben and sulfate free and has a light coconut vanilla fragrance. This product is as easy to use as taking a shower… simply apply to wet skin using your hands, sponge, etc. and work up to a lather while cleaning your body. Rinse with warm water and feel how soft your skin is after you’re done.
I am very impressed with the products I tried from LATHER so far. I love when a brand and their products has a unique story behind them and a mission that is quite impressive. With all the products I listed and discussed here today, I can’t help but to recommend all of them. I think each of them have wonderful properties and with someone like me who has sensitive skin, these products each helped to combat those issues. Now that we are in Spring, I’m noticing how much the winter weather took a toll on my body and dried my skin out so horribly bad. These products have been essential in bringing back the moisture and treating my skin to a spa. If you haven’t tried anything from LATHER yet, I highly suggest you take a look and see what products you think resonate with you. Each product offers so many benefits and most of them have such an addicting fragrance to them as well.

I LOVE body products, especially great smelling body products. I’m always looking for new ones when I’m out and about shopping and love when they are affordable and…
Valentia has stolen my skin care loving heart with their various products that I have tried over the last couple of years. Each time I try something new, I think to myself – this can’t possibly be any better than what I already tried, and they amaze me yet again. Today I share with you my thoughts on a product that is surely meant for my sensitive skin. It’s gentle and feels really nice on and I’ve been absolutely loving it lately. The Valentia Royal Rose Hydrating Serum is a new addition to my skin care regimen and while it is not something I think I would have liked when I first laid my eyes on it – I was very surprised after just one use.
The Valentia Royal Rose Hydrating Serum ($35.00 – 1.18 Fl.oz. / 35mL) looks like any other Valentia Serum in a similar packaged bottle and pump to dispense the product. It’s formulated to deeply moisturize your skin while providing antioxidant protection and soothe and nourish dry skin. Since I naturally have dry skin – this product has been wonderful and feels fabulous against my face.
The serum is lightweight and while very hydrating, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or dewy but feeling moisturized. It’s specifically crafted with rose petals from the fragrant Damask Rose – an essential oil that has been long regarded as being more precious than gold for its natural antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. While this is its main ingredient, it is also formulated with other skin loving oils like: Bearberry, Lavender and Primrose to help soothe and brighten your skin. This product is the perfect serum to help nourish, calm and cool your skin for a more refreshed and youthful look and feel – while leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated.
After just one use, I noticed my skin retained its moisture through out the day and my skin tone and texture was smooth and skin radiant. It left me loving this product after using it just one time and I know like other Valentia products, I will continue to purchase it in the future.
Ingredients:
Rosa Damascena: One of the most nourishing and skin-friendly natural oils, providing balance, moisture, and a variety of vitamins and minerals to the skin.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B): This potent vitamin has been clinically proven to fade away hyper-pigmentation, sun spots, and acne.
Rosehip Seed Oil: Naturally rich in Vitamins C and A, these essential fatty acids work quickly to lock in skins moisture.
Evening Primrose Oil: Provides light, non-oily moisture to the skin, never clogging or irritating the skin.
Bearberry: Reduces melanin production, thereby lightening the skin, revealing a brighter complexion.
Application: I usually apply 1-2 pumps to my face and neck in the evening after I cleanse and before I moisturize. I tend to apply it when applying any of my other serums. 1-2 pumps is more than enough to cover my whole face and neck, and it will soak into your skin fairly quickly once you apply and work into your skin. I haven’t noticed any bunching or weird reactions with this product when used in combination with my other serums or skin care.
I love the creamy, cooling texture of this product but I didn’t expect to really like the scent. As many know (if you have been a follower of this blog), I have fragrance sensitivities and rose scents usually come into that category with floral scents that I struggle with. I didn’t have any issues with this and while it may be because I’ve been sick the last few weeks and can’t smell much of anything lately, I didn’t really smell a fragrance from this serum. That is a major plus for me because that meant “no sneezing” especially in the middle of the night since this is a nightly serum. Overall, I have really been loving how this feels on the skin, how nicely it soaks into my skin and the fact that it not only hydrates and moisturizes, but I didn’t have any adverse reactions or issues.
In the past where I have reviewed or talked about Valentia products, I have mentioned how gentle they have been for my sensitive skin and this was no exception. I especially love that it is formulated with Sensitive Skin users in mind and really left my skin feeling nice, smooth and soft. Used in combination with my other favorite skin care products, I know that this will continue to be one in my skin arsenal and I’ll continue to enjoy it.
What about you – what products have you tried, if any, from Valentia Skin Care? Do you have sensitive skin like me and are looking for added moisture to hydrate and smooth? Do you think this is something you would want to check out?
You can purchase this product and more from Valentia Skin Care here or via their website at: http://valentia.com/

I’m so excited for the Spring season that has been gracing our islands here in Hawaii. It is not only a perfect time for soft April showers and beautiful…
When it comes to hair care – I try a lot of different products. I have hair that tends to be a bit finicky and definitely needs extra care. While I do have my favorites, I’m always interested in trying out new things and I especially love a good hair product that includes some of my favorite ingredients like Argan and Coconut oils. With curls for days and long tresses, I do what I can to keep my crazy hair at bay. Recently I was sent some goodies for my hair – the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Collection and today I’m going to share my thoughts with all of you.
The L’Oreal Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Collection includes products that are perfect for dry hair – which just happens to be the type of hair I have. Since my hair is so long and because I live in a tropical climate, my locks tend to be drier than I would like – which means I need to compensate with hair products that will add extra moisture. The Extraordinary Oil line not only helps to rehydrate and restore my hair, but some of the products like the Extraordinary Oil Curls Re-nourish mask also help with my curly hair. I received 4 out of the 7 different products I seen on their website and I’ll break it down for you and share my thoughts on each I had the opportunity to try.
First, you have the L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo ($4.99 / 25.4 fl.oz. – 750mL). This shampoo is perfect for daily care to help dry and lifeless hair. It’s a lightweight shampoo that is non-greasy and when applied to the hair – it left my hair feeling really clean, but not dry. I don’t have very many lathering products since I try to use sulfate-free hair care, so I really worried that this shampoo would leave my hair stripped of its natural oils. It actually did really well with my hair and I literally noticed after the first wash that my hair was pretty shiny and soft.
The advanced formula of the Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo includes an oil complex that has oils + botanical extracts in oil to rapidly propel hydration to the fiber and seal the cuticle. With the Arginine-K Complex, this system penetrates the hair fiber from the root, to the core, to the tip for healthier feeling and looking hair. Once you use this product, your hair is just about instantly transformed to silkier, softer – more lustrous hair. I was not only amazed, but very impressed. I only wash my hair about one to two times a week so I worried that this product would leave my curls dry and my hair (and my scalp) seemed to like the product overall. Oh – did I mention it has a soft fragrance? I actually really enjoy the scent, it’s light – but smells really good… almost floral, though I do not think that is it. I believe it is a mix of the argan and coconut oil, but I haven’t been able to pinpoint it yet. I like that the fragrance is light because it doesn’t affect my allergies.
The L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Conditioner ($4.99 / 25.4 fl.oz. – 750mL) can be used for daily care to help with dry, lifeless hair. It’s lightweight and non-greasy just like the shampoo and includes the same oil complex as well. After just one wash, I noticed my hair definitely softer and smoother. I love the thickness of this conditioner. It is not too thick, but thick enough to coat my hair nicely but still offering a good amount of slip. This conditioner really is the perfect one for detangling my hair while in the shower, which I like to do.
Just like the shampoo – the conditioner claims to help rejuvenate the hair with weightless nutrition. The Extraordinary Oil system instantly transforms dry, lifeless strands into silkier, softer, more lustrous hair. With the Advanced Formula Oil Complex of oils and botanical extracts in the oil – this conditioner helps to rapidly propel hydration to the fiber and seals the cuticle. It also includes the Arginine K complex to help penetrate hair fiber from root, to core, to tip for healthier hair. After the first use of using this product, I was amazed at how much I enjoy it. It did well in moisturizing and hydrating my hair and left my hair very very soft.
I’m all about a great mask, especially one that is formulated to help my curls so I was intrigued and excited to try this one from L’Oreal. The L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Curls Re-Nourish Mask ($6.99 / 8.5 fl.oz. – 250 mL) is formulated to rehydrate, restore and reinfuse bounce into naturally curly hair. It’s a rinse-out treatment best suited for very dry and curly hair. This mask instantly penetrates the hair to quench and calm even very dry, curly hair with hydration and nutrition. The Re-Nourish mask is made with the Extraordinary Oil system to help defrizz the hair, and infuse curls with bounce.
The mask itself has a very light scent to it – like the other products in this line and is quite thick, though still manageable. It includes the Advanced Treatment Oil Complex (AMLA Extract) system with oils + botanical extracts in oil to penetrate the fiber to instantly replenish curls with nourishment and elasticity. After one use I noticed my hair was shinier, rehydrated and soft but also – my curls had a lot of bounce.
When it comes to masks, I can use a lot of it (just like conditioners) because my hair is nearly past my rear. I found that this product was thick enough to coat my strands, but also thin enough to be worked into my hair without using a lot of product as I normally would. It’s easy to use – simply apply this mask to your wet hair after shampooing. Massage through to the ends of your hair and leave in for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. This product has to be rinsed out. It is too thick and has too much oils in it to leave over night in my opinion… I tried it the first time I used it just to see and it left my scalp feeling kind of oily. I did like it when used as directed and at the price point, I think I may continue to purchase this product to keep on hand. It really helped to soften my dry ends leaving them looking healthy and smooth.
Lastly, the L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum ($6.99 / 3.4 fl.oz. – 100mL), is quite a great little product. As many of you know if you’ve been here reading my posts for a while, I really am a huge oil fan and use coconut and argan oil (to name a few) in my hair consistently and usually daily. I was so happy to try a hair serum with the oil complex the same as in the other products from this line that I have tried. This product claims to instantly add shine and a silky-touch to your hair and is lightweight and non-greasy. It’s a leave-in treatment that is perfect for dry and lifeless hair.
The Extraordinary Oil system instantly absorbs, transforming dry hair strand by strand for weightless silky shine. It includes the same system of oils + botanical extracts in oil to help rapidly propel hydration to the fiber and seals the cuticle. With oils like Chamomile, Coconut, Sunflower, Soja, Gardenia and Rose – this oil serum helps to add instant shine and a gorgeous, soft and silky touch. I apply this product as directed, after using the shampoo and conditioner I apply the serum throughout the lengths of my hair concentrating it on the ends. I love that this product can be used before a shampoo to help nourish and protect the hair and before styling to help control and discipline hair. But, most importantly for me it also works well as a finishing touch to any style or hair look for exquisite softness and lustrous shine.
The L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil line has been such a great asset in my hair care needs. I have used products from the L’Oreal Feria line (for hair coloring) and that is basically it – so I was not only impressed by my first use of the hair products from this line, but also with the quality considering the price point. Each of the products offered a light scent – almost floral, that made use quite pleasing and didn’t leave me nauseous as other hair products can do and I liked that it worked so well with my curly hair. Since I tend to have drier hair than usual, I love a product line that really replenishes my hair and keeps it looking great for longer periods of time, especially since I usually only wash 1-2 times a week. Since these products have oils that help to seal the cuticle and hydrate your natural hair fibers, I think they would make great products for those who color their hair consistently. I noticed that after using these products, my red didn’t fade as quickly and I didn’t have as much bleeding of color in my shower after a wash. These products have helped to keep my hair color lasting longer as well as keeping my hair looking great. Since all four products are infused with vitamins and antioxidants, my hair feels so soft and shiny and has felt this way after just one use.
Overall, I’m really liking them – loving the price, and after a month of using these, I look forward to repurchasing some of my favorites.
You can purchase these products and more at: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/ as well as your local drugstore, Target, Walmart or other stores where L’Oreal is sold.
Have you tried any of these products from L’Oreal Paris before? If so – what are your thoughts? If you are more of a makeup lover, then hair… be sure to check out my thoughts and review on the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation, which includes my thoughts as well as swatches.
Have a wonderful day! Smooches!

When it comes to drugstore foundations, the L’Oreal True Match foundation line was my go-to when I used foundation consistently and if I started up using foundation products again, this would be the brand I know I would turn to for this specific product. While I hardly use foundation now a days – pretty much never unless I need to glam up or am testing a new product, I’m always proud to try a product from a brand that I know and love. The L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation (whew, say that 5 times fast… lol) is a fairly new product to hit the drugstore cosmetic and beauty market and today I’m going to share with you my thoughts on some of these beauties. I have three to share with you so stop what you’re doing and read on.
The L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation (0.51 oz / 14.6g) retails for about $16 – $24.00 depending on the location and store you find it at. Considering it is a drugstore product, that is much more than the norm that you can find with regard to pricing. But, while it’s a bit costly, I think it really can and does offer some unique and great qualities for a product you can find readily available at most stores. L’Oreal True Match foundations were my go-to years before so I had expected the same quality and feel of these foundation as I did with the originals.
The packaging of these foundations is really pretty. I love that rose gold cover and wish that the rose gold shade would take the place of the white plastic bottom, but overall – I really like the packaging and like that it is so convenient to hold the sponge to apply the foundation as well as the product sealed properly. Within the compact there is a small compartment to place your sponge and when you lift that you reveal the cushion of foundation. Since I haven’t tried anything like this before – I thought it was pretty cool and unique to me. There is also a mirror on the inside which make touch ups a breeze when on the go. Since I’m not too fond of sponge applicators, I used it once and then opted to apply with a brush moving forward. After working years in the beauty industry – I am not fond of the sponge that’s stored within the product itself for sanitary purposes, so I rather use a brush. I do however, like that it’s so convenient for ease of use with the sponge included.
Like other products on the market, the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation has a sponge like cushion that is drenched in liquid foundation. The concept is that you will receive a radiant glow in just 1 tap of the sponge into the product. The formula gives you a sheer and natural luminescence that feels weightless and fresh after application. When I used the original True Match foundation, I used the warm tones, so I found that the True Match Lumi Cushion shades I received (C5.5 Natural Tan, N5.5 Perfect Beige and N3.5 Classic Buff) were a tad bit too ashy and cool toned for my skin. The closest to my skin tone would be the Natural Tan c5.5 though it is still too cool toned for me and could not be worn alone without bronzing up my face. Since I don’t use foundation now, I was able to really use some of these products to my advantage, utilizing one of the shades as an under eye highlighter to brighten that area. Since the liquid is so lightweight, it didn’t cake or become too thick when applied appropriately. While the foundation shades do not work for me specifically – I think I’m impressed overall with the feel of the product against my skin and the look it left when applied.
On my face – L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in C5.5 – Natural Tan
As the name suggests, “Lumi” Cushion foundation leaves you with a luminous and dewy finish once applied. This is especially great for those of you who want that radiant glow from your foundation or those who are not into a matte look. Since I have pretty dry skin, I found that this foundation felt comfortable on my face and it was really easy to blend – with a foundation or kabuki brush, because it is very smooth to the touch. This would make a perfect every day foundation for those who are looking for a light to medium coverage and if needed, it could be built up to full coverage, especially if set with a translucent or colored powder.
Since I test out products all the time, while I don’t use foundation – I found the need to really put this one to the test. After application, I found that my skin didn’t feel sensitive, icky or greasy after putting it on and it felt nice against my skin all day. I could notice the product on my skin for hours and when I finally removed the foundation, it still hung in there and the brown was left on my makeup remover wipe after cleansing my face. I was quite impressed with how long it lasted, since dewy and luminous foundations can oxidize quickly on my skin. This one really seemed to live up to it and hang around. I’m definitely going to check out the shade range at my local stores to see if there are others that would match my skin tone perfectly and try them out to see.

If you are looking to a drug store alternative to some of the highend cushion foundations on the market, I definitely suggest you checking out the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. Considering the price point, you get a pretty interesting product that really gives your skin that young, fresh and radiant feel and look.
