When it comes to drugstore foundations, the L’Oreal True Match foundation line was my go-to when I used foundation consistently and if I started up using foundation products again, this would be the brand I know I would turn to for this specific product.  While I hardly use foundation now a days – pretty much never unless I need to glam up or am testing a new product, I’m always proud to try a product from a brand that I know and love.  The L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation (whew, say that 5 times fast… lol) is a fairly new product to hit the drugstore cosmetic and beauty market and today I’m going to share with you my thoughts on some of these beauties.  I have three to share with you so stop what you’re doing and read on.

The L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Buildable Luminous Foundation (0.51 oz / 14.6g) retails for about $16 – $24.00 depending on the location and store you find it at.  Considering it is a drugstore product, that is much more than the norm that you can find with regard to pricing.  But, while it’s a bit costly, I think it really can and does offer some unique and great qualities for a product you can find readily available at most stores.  L’Oreal True Match foundations were my go-to years before so I had expected the same quality and feel of these foundation as I did with the originals.

The packaging of these foundations is really pretty.  I love that rose gold cover and wish that the rose gold shade would take the place of the white plastic bottom, but overall – I really like the packaging and like that it is so convenient to hold the sponge to apply the foundation as well as the product sealed properly.  Within the compact there is a small compartment to place your sponge and when you lift that you reveal the cushion of foundation.   Since I haven’t tried anything like this before – I thought it was pretty cool and unique to me.  There is also a mirror on the inside which make touch ups a breeze when on the go.  Since I’m not too fond of sponge applicators, I used it once and then opted to apply with a brush moving forward.  After working years in the beauty industry – I am not fond of the sponge that’s stored within the product itself for sanitary purposes, so I rather use a brush.  I do however, like that it’s so convenient for ease of use with the sponge included.

Like other products on the market, the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation has a sponge like cushion that is drenched in liquid foundation.  The concept is that you will receive a radiant glow in just 1 tap of the sponge into the product.  The formula gives you a sheer and natural luminescence that feels weightless and fresh after application.  When I used the original True Match foundation, I used the warm tones, so I found that the True Match Lumi Cushion shades I received (C5.5 Natural Tan, N5.5 Perfect Beige and N3.5 Classic Buff) were a tad bit too ashy and cool toned for my skin.  The closest to my skin tone would be the Natural Tan c5.5 though it is still too cool toned for me and could not be worn alone without bronzing up my face.  Since I don’t use foundation now, I was able to really use some of these products to my advantage, utilizing one of the shades as an under eye highlighter to brighten that area.  Since the liquid is so lightweight, it didn’t cake or become too thick when applied appropriately.  While the foundation shades do not work for me specifically – I think I’m impressed overall with the feel of the product against my skin and the look it left when applied.

On my face – L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in C5.5 – Natural Tan

As the name suggests, “Lumi” Cushion foundation leaves you with a luminous and dewy finish once applied.  This is especially great for those of you who want that radiant glow from your foundation or those who are not into a matte look.  Since I have pretty dry skin, I found that this foundation felt comfortable on my face and it was really easy to blend – with a foundation or kabuki brush, because it is very smooth to the touch.  This would make a perfect every day foundation for those who are looking for a light to medium coverage and if needed, it could be built up to full coverage, especially if set with a translucent or colored powder.

Since I test out products all the time, while I don’t use foundation – I found the need to really put this one to the test.  After application, I found that my skin didn’t feel sensitive, icky or greasy after putting it on and it felt nice against my skin all day.  I could notice the product on my skin for hours and when I finally removed the foundation, it still hung in there and the brown was left on my makeup remover wipe after cleansing my face.  I was quite impressed with how long it lasted, since dewy and luminous foundations can oxidize quickly on my skin.  This one really seemed to live up to it and hang around.  I’m definitely going to check out the shade range at my local stores to see if there are others that would match my skin tone perfectly and try them out to see.

If you are looking to a drug store alternative to some of the highend cushion foundations on the market, I definitely suggest you checking out the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation.  Considering the price point, you get a pretty interesting product that really gives your skin that young, fresh and radiant feel and look.

When it comes to skin care, I have tried so many different brands including drugstore, highend, mainstream and indie.  While I enjoy them all, I find that it can be rare that I can use a whole line of products from one brand and not have an issue with at least one of the products.  I thought it would be so with OZ Naturals, seeing as I have been enjoying some of the products I have been using.  I thought to myself, Hmm… I’m not sure the Ocean Mineral Cleanser will work for me and I’m glad I had the chance to try it out.  Today – I share with you my thoughts and review on this product and let you know if the OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser was a hit or miss.  Read on for more info.

OZ Naturals, OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser, facial cleanser, skin care, facial, cleanser,

The OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser (4 fl.oz / 118mL) retails for about $23.00 and can be found via the Oz Naturals website or via their Amazon Store.  I haven’t heard much about this brand prior to being introduced and trying their Eye Gel (which I’m loving and you can read about here) but after looking into the brand I found that they have quite a line up of different products which I’m looking forward to testing out. This Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser is free from alcohol, parabens and sulfates and is said to be safe for all skin types.  This effective facial cleanser is made in the USA and is said to be one of the most effective anti-aging skin care products on the market, made with the highest quality ingredients.

Some of the key ingredients in this product include:  Rose hip oil, rich ocean minerals and Vitamin E.  It was specifically developed to be gentle on sensitive skin, yet highly potent and effective in dissolving nasty particles that clog your pores as it cleanses your skin and clears your clogged pores naturally and effectively.

OZ Naturals, OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser, facial cleanser, skin care, facial, cleanser,

The OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser is a clear liquid cleanser that feels really soothing when applied to the skin.  I like the fact that when I’m cleansing my face it feels like it’s adding moisture into my skin while still cleaning it well – if that makes any sense.  What is so neat about this cleanser is you really need just a tad bit… I usually try to squeeze out two pea sizes worth of product and that is more than enough to cover my whole face.  Once I have the cleanser in my hand, I add a little water to it and mix the product in my hand until it foams up.  Once it foams, I apply to my face in a circular motion while cleaning my face of it’s dirt and impurities.  Once I rinse the product off my face, my skin feels clean, but not dry like a cleanser that foams can normally leave my skin feeling.  Even with my sensitive skin and eczema issues, I found that this product worked well and cleaned well.  I didn’t have any breakouts, flare ups or any issues with using this product the last month.  After a month or so of using this product, it seems like my skin is brighter and some what smoother in places that tend to be drier during the winter months.

I think if you are looking for a facial cleanser that will clean your face – leaving it feeling great, but not drying your face out, you will enjoy this.  Since my skin is naturally dry, I like to use cleansers that will not strip my face of moisture and this really did the job in my opinion.  It’s not a thick formulation at all but it foams and bubbles up so quickly when using.  If you have sensitive skin like I do and you’re looking for cleanser that will do the job – I think you may enjoy this one.  I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this particular one and when it comes to cleansers, those are the types of products I don’t tend to stray away from my norm.  I would repurchase this and continue to use it.  I definitely look forward to using this during the summer when my skin needs that super clean greatness.  One note however… once you apply this product to your face, rinse and do not leave it sitting (like you would a wash off mask) as it can dry your skin out.  I noticed one day when I did that – not on purpose, the phone rang and I went to pick it up, that after a couple of minutes – when I washed it off my skin felt dry – not like it normally would feel.

What are your favorite cleansers to use for your skin?  Have you tried anything from OZ Naturals before?  Do you have any other recommendations for me?  Comment below and let me know.

Too Faced always comes out with the most eye appealing cosmetics along with show stopping packaging that absolutely sucks me in each and every time.  However, as cute as the packaging is on this particular product, I was really intrigued to get this palette because it included the shades available from the Love Flush Blush collection which I haven’t had the opportunity to get my hands on just yet.  Today I share with you the Too Faced Love Flush Blush Wardrobe Palette and my thoughts and swatches on this product.  Just a little note, when I checked the Too Faced site yesterday, this palette was still in stock, but as of this morning, it is labeled Sold Out.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush, Too Faced Love Flush blush wardrobe, blush palette, swatches, review, too faced, cosmetics, makeup, blush, face products, cheeks, product review, beauty,

The Too Faced Love Flush Wardrobe ($36.00) includes 6 gorgeous blush shades that are long wearing, fade proof, smudge proof and keeps your cheeks perfectly flushed for up to 16 hours.  This palette includes high impact shades that will provide a pretty pop of color an any skin tone.  Each blush applies to the cheeks easily and is very pigmented providing color that is show stopping.  The shades include a range of nudes, pinks, corals and berries so each tone of blush you could need is included in this selection.  The blushes have a net wt. of 2.0g/0.07 oz each which is quite a bit considering the price point for the whole palette.  If you were to buy these shades individually (as they are sold on the site) it will cost you $26.00 each blush so the palette is not only convenient but it also offers you great quality and product for the price.  My biggest issue with this palette is not the quality, but that it is listed as a limited edition product.  I think it would be a great deal if it was permanent.

The packaging is really nice.  The palette is much larger than I thought it would be which gives you a great amount of product for the price.  But I also enjoy that it comes with a mirror which makes this perfect for travel.  Each blush is housed in a cute heart shape with the Too Faced logo imprinted on it (with use that will eventually disappear) and the names of each blush are posted right below the pan which make it easy for reference.

The blush shades work well layered together and that is how I have been using them over the last several weeks, though Love Hangover has become my favorite of the set and one I find I’m using consistently.  The shades in the palette include:  Love Hangover, Baby Love, I Will Always Love You, How Deep is Your Love?, Justify My Love and Your Love is King
Too Faced Love Flush Blush, Too Faced Love Flush blush wardrobe, blush palette, swatches, review, too faced, cosmetics, makeup, blush, face products, cheeks, product review, beauty,
While Baby Love is a bit light against my skin and sometimes does not show up, it makes a great base and blending shade for sheering out a color that may be too bold for me – like Your Love Is King.  Ultimately, I’ve been able to get great use out of this entire palette and I’m so glad I decided to pick it up before my Makeup Spending Challenge began.  It’s a great little palette that includes 6 of Too Faced Popular blushes so I think it’s a great buy overall.  I wasn’t immediately intrigued with the single Love Flush Blushes and I think it was just meant for me to wait a while because this baby was released for me to try them all.
Each of the blushes have really nice pigmentation, so when applying them (especially the deeper and brighter shades) I suggest a lighter hand or a fluffier brush so you are not packing color onto your cheeks.  Since there is so much color that comes off – honestly, a little of the blush goes a really long way.  I love that these blushes are long wearing.   I wouldn’t say that it last 16 hours since I don’t wear my makeup that long normally.  But, after applying in the morning, by late afternoon and into the evening, I notice that I still have remnants and a hue of the color left on my cheeks.  That is great since many blushes wear off on my skin in a matter of a few short hours.  I definitely think these offer long wear in comparison to blushes I have used in the past.

I am using the Love Flush Blush in Love Hangover on my cheeks in the look above.  That color lasted on my cheeks all day and into the evening.  I truly enjoy how these blushes work so well with my skin tone as many times I do not use certain blushes because they can cause my skin to look too white or too ashy.  These worked so well – I’m loving them.  For a GRWM style video as well as a look at the products used in that look, click here.
The packaging is just absolutely cute and adorable as is most and anything that Too Faced offers.  I love the details and how sweet and feminine it is but I also enjoy the fact that it really is sturdy.  As I mentioned before, if you are one who loves to travel with your blushes, I think this would make a great companion.  Everything seems nicely compact and sealed in its packaging well.  Even after I have dropped it many times, I didn’t notice any chipping or breaking which is a huge plus.

I’m bummed to see that this palette is sold out online after just seeing it in stock yesterday.  I’m hoping that Too Faced will restock it soon or make it permanent.  As I mentioned above, this palette includes shades that Too Faced already offers in the Love Flush Blush collection so if there is any particular color you are interested in or want to have as a single, you can find those available on the website.
Head on over to my YouTube channel and check out the video I have talking about the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette and this one – the Love Flush Blush Wardrobe – here.
Overall – I really enjoy this palette, a lot more than I thought I would.  Do you own any of the Love Flush Blushes or this palette?  If so, what are your thoughts on it?  If not, is this something you may have your eyes on?  Comment below and let me know.

Valentine’s Day is a holiday filled with soft pinks and sweet kisses and as a tradition, each year I have created a Valentine’s Day look using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palettes.  This year I decided I would go ahead and do a “GRWM” Style makeup look that features the newly released Too Faced Bon Bons Palette and add it to my tradition.  “Just Call Me Sweetheart” is a soft and sweet Valentine’s Day look that can be used day or night but it is an easy look to create that features a little pop of pink that’s subtle with a little sexy.  I hope you enjoy this look.  Check out the video below and hang out and talk story as I get ready and create this Valentine’s Day look.

Valentine's Day, OOTD, MOTD, FOTD, Valentine's day makeup look, valentine's day makeup tutorial, soft makeup look, sweet makeup look, beauty, Too Faced Bon Bon,

Creating this look meant it needed to be quick and easy.  From start to finish I say it took me about 25 minutes to complete.  I wanted this to be a wearable makeup look that could be used for day or night.  If you want to spice things up a bit – you could surely add a pair of flirty false lashes to the look to make it a bit more glam, but I opted to go for my mini lashes (natural lashes) and the look was complete.  To create this look I used the following products:

  • Eye brows:  Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil and Taupe Brow Powder set with BDB Brow Gel
  • Eye shadow base / primer:  Milani Eye Primer
  • Eye shadow palette – Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette, shadows used:  Divinity (all over the lid from lash line to brow bone), Mocha (transition shade), Molasses Chip (lid), Bordeaux (outer v / outer corner and lower lash line), Dark Truffle (used to deepen the outer corner), Totally Fetch (lower lash line blended with Bordeaux), Satin Sheets (inner corner highlight), Divinity and Cashew Chew (brow bone highlight)
  • Mascara:  Essence Get Big!  Lashes Volume Boost in Waterproof (black)
  • Eyeliner:  Milani Kohl Kajal Eyeliner
  • Foundation:  PUR Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation in Tan (I don’t use foundation normally, but I’m trying this one out… so if you want, you can opt to go without foundation as I would normally).
  • Blush:  Too Faced Love Flush Blush Palette – Blush in Love Hangover
  • Lips:  Jordana Twist Up Lip Liner in Rock-n-Rose, topped and layered with ColourPop Lippy Stix in Lumiere and Milani Matte Naked Color Statement Lipstick.  Later in the day, I switched up my lips and added ColourPop’s Bumble for all day smooch-proof lips.

Valentine's Day, OOTD, MOTD, FOTD, Valentine's day makeup look, valentine's day makeup tutorial, soft makeup look, sweet makeup look, beauty, Too Faced Bon Bon,

When I created this, I wanted this look to be soft with a pop of color so I opted to use fluffy brushes to apply and put down most of the shades on my eyes.  If you really wanted to you could use a more defined brush for precision but I really wanted the eyes to look diffused so each shade was applied using a blending brush except for the lid shade which I used a pretty large eye shadow brush to lay down the shade.

If pink is not your favorite color for the lips, you could opt for a nude lip shade and it would still do very well with the eye look.  Play around with colors and see what you think will work for your skin tone and your overall look.
