A few months ago I shared with you my thoughts on a product from Farmacy Beauty – The New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains.  Since then, it has become a favorite of mine and I enjoy utilizing the product in my skin care regimen.  Today, I share with you some products that I have also been using from Farmacy Beauty and my thoughts on each.  I have a video on YouTube with my first impressions and open box sharing my initial thoughts on the items which you can watch here, but I also have my thoughts on these products after using them for a few weeks.

I had the awesome opportunity of receiving a Limited Edition Farmacy Beauty box and boy was I not only excited but also looking forward to trying out more products from a brand that I instantly fell in love with.  After trying the New Day Exfoliating Grains cleanser (you can read my thoughts about this product here), I couldn’t contain the excitement when I received the box in the mail.  With sensitive skin – I have overall enjoyed what I did try from Farmacy and I’m also quite impressed with the goodies I tried in this box as well.

New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains: ($30.00) (read my original review on this product here)  This powder like cleanser is formulated to cleanse, exfoliate and clarify your skin all in one easy step.  It’s perfect for any day or a long day and leaves my skin feeling so clean, but without stripping it’s natural moisture.  My skin feels like it’s been pampered and like I spent the day getting a facial without feeling the harsh effects that my sensitivities would normally experience.  While I don’t use this product daily – I only use about once a week, it is the perfect product for pampering and I love it.

Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm: ($48.00)  I wasn’t sure how I would like this product but lately I think I’ve been loving things that have a green hue to them.  Since I have naturally dry skin, I really was looking forward to this balm to help renew my skin through the night.  This balm helps to not only renew my skin but it’s lightweight and transforms into a gentle oil like gel.  It reinforces the skin’s natural moisture content and aids in firmness and tone as well as helping to restore the elasticity of your skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  Since I oil cleanse and moisturize as night – this firming night balm works perfectly in keeping the moisture in.  I suffer from really dry skin during the winter, especially near my nose since my allergies can be bad and when I concentrate this night balm in those areas, over a few days, I noticed that the dryness reduced dramatically.  I also enjoy using this on a few areas on my elbows that get really dry because it makes the skin soft and plump again.

Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask – Anti Wrinkle: ($24.00 for 3 masks) I don’t use sheet masks very often, because they never seem to fit my face properly, but I was very excited to try this particular mask out.  Since I’m primarily a mud mask using, I’m always excited to see how certain products live up to my use.  Applying the mask was interesting, and leaving it on for 20-25 minutes was a challenge so I spent most of that time laying down to keep the mask in place.  But my face felt absolutely soft and plump and after just that one use, I knew it would be a part of my skin care regimen.  I am in the process of purchasing a box of these because my skin felt really hydrated and moisturized after using just one.  I was very impressed indeed

Lip Blooms (Lavender Mint & Citrus Lemongrass): $16.50 each – I am a lippy lover and lip balm is something I use daily so I have been intrigued and interested in trying the Farmacy Beauty Lip Blooms since I first seen them a few months ago.  These herb infused balms are in a gorgeous little pot and help to form a protective barrier on the lips, leaving them smoother, softer and fuller.  They pack great ingredients in this moisture replenishing and protective lip treatment.  Since we all know I’m a lover of sweet vanilla and sugar scents and flavors, I had wondered how I would like these and I LOVE THEM.   The have a sweet (but not sickening sweet) scent and flavor with a slight infusion of earthy to them.  Since my lips are the most chapped and dry during the winter months I have been using these daily and find my lips are kissably soft all day long (definitely husband approved).  My husband doesn’t like to kiss sticky or funky flavored lip balms or lip products and he even commented to say that this one was nice (as in both of the flavors I got).  While it has a slight herbal scent, it really doesn’t transition into the flavor or taste of the balm.  I apply these at night before bed and wake up with soft juicy lips the next morning.  I seriously found a love in these and I know they will easily be a favorite for a long time – I plan to get all of them, they come in six different flavors/scents.  They don’t have any color to them so they will be perfect to wear on top or below your favorite lip products or on its own.

Farmacy Beauty is a brand I pretty much immediately fell in love with after using just a small handful of their products.  We all know I keep it real here and if I didn’t like a product, I would have said it instantly.  I’ve been impressed with what I have tried so far and have found a few favorites that I think I won’t be able to live without.  My very sensitive skin feels revived and loved and I haven’t gotten any reaction to the products that I have tried.  I’m not only impressed, but have found a beauty line that I’m loving.  I look forward to trying more products from Farmacy Beauty and add more of their skin loving ingredients to my regimen.

Here’s to Billion Dollar Brows

While brows are an important part of your face, I always like them to look full and natural.  I have my favorite products that I do love and enjoy to use, but one that I have continued to use over the last two years is the Billion Dollar Brows Best Sellers Kit.  Of course, I do use these products in combination with other brands I love, but I find that this little kit is simple and easy to use while still offering me stellar brows in a heartbeat.

I wrote about the Billion Dollar Brows Best Seller’s Kit ($42.00) before and it still continues to a set of brow products I reach for consistently (on the daily if only in part).  You can read about my original review of these products here, as my thoughts haven’t much changed.  I can say that I love love that it includes four universal products that can be used to not only conceal and highlight but set your brows and fill them in.  The Best Seller’s Kit includes four products:

Universal Brow Pencil which is formulated to work with most skin tones and hair colors.  It applies smoothly and natural and is so easy to use.   I also like that this brow pencil is automatic, so there is no need for sharpening and it comes with a spoolie brush on the opposite end for blending the pencil color with your natural brows.

Duo Brow Pencil has two sides, one for highlighting your brow bone and one side to help conceal those strays or for touch-ups.  I love the highlighter end because it works well with my skin tone and offers the perfect highlight that lifts my brows adding a subtle warmth and the look like I’m completely awake when I probably had no sleep. lol

The Brow Gel is one of my favorites.  It’s clear and helps to lock my brows in place, keeping them there without a crunchy or hard feeling.  It feels comfortable but still offers that “bulletproof” protection that I need on those days I want my brows to look nicely manicured.

A Smudge Brush is also included.  It is a flat, synthetic brush that works so well in applying the creamy duo brow pencil or for blending out the highlight under the brow bone.  I also love using it to apply any creamy cosmetics that I use.

This is the perfect little kit if you are just getting started with grooming your brows or if you want a kit that includes everything you need.  I highly suggest it and considering the cost and what you are getting, I think it’s well worth it.

The next set I will be chit chatting about is a new one to me.  I have tried many different brow powders, but not one from Billion Dollar Brows before.  I’ll be honest, I had wondered if it would even match my brow colors or would work for me since I’m not a fan of Taupe shades.  Taupe browns tend to make my brows look a bit ashy – so I try to go for a brunette match or something of a true brown.  The 60 Seconds to Beautiful Brow Kit ($24.00) is also reasonably priced and comes with a brow powder and a brow brush – two of the most popular brow products from BDB.  This kit really boasts that “if you have 60 seconds, then you can have a brilliant pop of color to your brows in only a minute.”

The set comes with a dual ended brush – a angled brow brush and a spoolie and the brow powder.  Again, I was impressed at how nicely the brow powder not only applied but how well it blended in with my natural brows.  I used this set whenever I’m on the go and in a hurry and literally apply the brow powder for a fuller brow look and I’m out the door.  If I want to really keep my brows in place, I’ll pull for the brow gel that will help to set them, but the powder works well and stays on all day.

There are so many different brow products available on the market today – from drugstore to highend, cream and liquid to powder types.  I have tried many and so many on the market can cause my brows to get dry.  I’m always impressed with Billion Dollar Brows and their products and look forward to trying out more from the brand in the future.  Overall, I think I have found a new favorite in the 60 Seconds to Beautiful Brows Kit and definitely still enjoy the Best Seller’s Kit now, as much as I did over a year ago.  Considering the price point you get a variety of products that you can taper to use according to your needs and you’ll get gorgeous statement brows easily and quickly.

Soft and Smooth Winter Skin With Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter

I am a body butter nut, especially during the winter months when my skin is so dry and I need the added moisture and protection.  I have tried many products over the years and I surely have my list of favorites when it comes to body butters.  But, recently I had the opportunity to try the Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter in Tupelo Honey and I wanted to share it with all of you.  Let’s face it – I’m a sucker with anything that has honey or the word “honey” in it – for obvious reasons, of course – but I was intrigued by this body butter because it also includes Royal Jelly which is known to be a nutrient-rich and precious ingredient of the  bee hive.  Having loved products with this additive, I knew I had to try it.  I featured this product on my Holiday Gift Guide – Stocking Stuffers and figured it was so good it needed it’s own little feature here.

The Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter comes in three different formulas – Original, Sensitive Skin and Tupelo Honey.  Each cute little jar (I love the honey pot shape) comes in two sizes – Full Size (6.7 oz/190g – $24.70) and Mini Size (1.65 oz/48g – $12.90).  I got the Tupelo Honey formula in the mini size which is made with fresh tupelo blossom fragrance and soft hints of vanilla and lemon.  The super rich formula combines royal jelly and other hive treasures as well as skin quenching butters and essential oils to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth.

So what’s so great about this “Royal Jelly” that I keep mentioning?  Well, Savannah Bee Company commonly uses four different hive ingredients their their health and beauty product line including – honey, beeswax, propolis and royal jelly.  Honey is a natural cleanser and skin softener, beeswax protects the skin and prevents water loss and propolis is known for its antibiotic and antiseptic qualities.  Royal jelly is a substance secreted from the glands near the head region of work bees.  It is thought of as a combination baby food and queen food.  Honeybee larvae (baby bees) are fed royal jelly for the first few days of their lives.  It’s a heavy dose of mega nutrition to the young bees off on the right foot.  When it comes to the future queen bee – that story gets a bit interesting.  The worker bees begin the process of “growing” a new queen by completely filling a special cell in the comb called a queen cell with royal jelly.   The larvae selected to be the future queen spends her early days literally swimming in royal jelly.  At this point she is genetically identical to all other work bee larvae but it is a fact that her prolonged feeding of royal jelly initiates her genetic transformation into the Queen!  The queen is then fed royal jelly the remainder of her life, which is quite long by worker bee standards.  This awesome jelly transforms her into the queen phenotype (body type) and the miraculous secretion allows this individual to live up to five years compared to the eight month average lifespan of a typical worker bee.  Royal Jelly is mostly water – but it’s very nutritious.  It contains a fair amount of protein, trace minerals and vitamins (particularly high levels of B vitamins) and is the key ingredient in several of the health and beauty products offered at Savannah Bee Company.

I know that lesson was a bit long winded, but I felt it was necessary.  We hear and read that products on the market include this royal jelly but we have no idea why or for what reason and it’s kind of cool to read and learn that the “Queen Bee” has her own little fountain of youth.  They say Royal Jelly is a “Cinderella” substance that turns a worker bee into a Queen and allows her to live 40 times longer than the  average bee as a result.  This amazing substance is surely worth focusing some on and I wanted to share this with you.  The awesome substance is known for its nourishing and deep moisturizing properties as well as its ability to promote skin’s elasticity and smooth appearance.  It’s a great additive in the Savannah Bee Body Butter because it leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft but also hydrated and moisturized – especially during the winter season.

The body butter is rich and thick in texture with a smooth application.  It includes other goodies from the hive like Propolis which helps to add a protective barrier on the skin and Beeswax which is an emollient to help quench dryness and protect skin’s own natural moisture barriers.  Rich and softening Pecan Seed Oil and the natural, delicate scent of it add a great final touch to this wonderful and luxurious product meant for a queen.  Smoothing the product onto the skin feels like a spa experience.  You can feel the oils and ingredients quenching your skin and leaving it smooth.  I love that I can apply this to my hands and feet without the feeling slippery or oily and it really just adds a huge punch of moisture to my skin.

If I had to make one suggestion, it is that the mini pot is a bit of a challenge to get the product out.  I would love to see the opening of the pot a little larger to allow for ease of use, but the body butter is so good – I find a way.  I love the thickness of this body body and as you apply it you literally can feel the moisture in your skin being revived.  It’s pretty darn awesome.

I also had the opportunity to try the Savannah Bee Natural Beeswax and Propolis Lip Balm in Salted Caramel.  Retailing for $6.50 – this awesome lip balm has been a favorite of mine since I got my hands on it and I have been using it religiously.  My lips feel soft and smooth and I love that I haven’t noticed it dry even with my drying liquid lipsticks.  With ingredients like coconut and olive oil, cocoa and hemp seed, this lip balm is never greasy, glides on smoothly and absorbs and protects my lips.  It also includes softening honey, pure propolis and nourishing royal jelly like the body butter. If you love lip balm – you’ll enjoy this one.  I also love the taste on my lips… mmmm caramel.

I am very impressed with Savannah Bee products.  They never test on animals and do not have petroleum-based ingredients.  All of their products are free of parabens and preservatives.  Their beeswax is organic and the products really feel good on the skin.  I can’t wait to try more products from this line.  Recently while in Target I stumbled upon the Savannah Bee display so you can find some of their products there or via their website.

The packaging is fairly simple and easy to use.  With a pump like dispenser, getting the product out is easy.  You get 15 mL / 0.5 fl.oz. of product which is a lot considering a little of this product goes a long way.  The product itself is a gel like milky white substance, that applies really nicely to the skin and soaks in nicely without any sticky residue… which I love.  One pump is all you need for both eyes and by tapping the product onto your eye area with your ring finger, you’ll get optimum results.

While I haven’t used the product long enough to see a huge difference, I have definitely seen visible results immediately that have me intrigued enough to want to continue use.  The price is affordable and can’t be beat and I really enjoy the texture of the gel and how it applies.  I will continue the use of this product and will update if I see any extra benefit or change but I think this will surely be one that I’ll continue to use – I’m really liking it.  This product is made in the USA and is 84.2% natural.  I do feel some tingling upon application and on days my skin is sensitive, the tingle can have a slight burning sensation – but more warming than an actual burn.  It doesn’t affect me at all or hurt me in anyway.  After each use, I notice a plump like look to the corners of my eyes, giving my eyes a much more youthful look and really filling in some of my fine lines I have on the corners of my eyes.  After experiencing years of allergies, I have fine lines that are prominent on the corner of my eyes and this product has helped to fill those in and make them diminish some.  After a short period of time, I noticed results that have me wanting to continue the use of this product and the price point is awesome.

Since this is my first time trying anything from Oz Naturals, I’m very impressed.  I’m particular with eye gels because my eyes are so sensitive that some make my eyes tear or worst and this one really didn’t offer any issues.  I will continue to use this product in the future.  What about you – have you heard of Oz Naturals before?  If so, have you tried this product and do you like it and if not – would you give this a try?
