Let’s face it, when it comes to beauty, everyone is looking for that “quick fix” product or the new trend in beauty.  I’m always looking for products that help enhance my features and I think I found one that I like.  Today I introduce you to Sublime Lips by Cheeky Physique.  A great way to get your pucker noticed with a product that offers fast results and a hydrating, feel-good formula.

This awesome little tube of lip gloss goodness includes Sublime Lips ($25 USD – 0.34 fl.oz / 10 mL), a Manuka Honey Lip Plumper that literally takes your natural pout to the next level with its high impact combo of nourishing Manuka honey and advanced lip plumping ingredients.  You get fast results and a hydrating feel on the lips without the sticky that you would expect from a traditional gloss.

You can use Sublime Lips alone for a natural look or you can top your favorite lip color and add a little vavoom to your lips.  I love using Sublime Lips on its own but find that if I want to take my favorite matte lipsticks to a whole new level, topping them with these lip plumper will give them that little extra something.  When using this product, I find that you instantly get a tingly feeling on the lips – but it’s a cooling sensation vs. a burning sensation like other lip plumpers offer.  As you feel the cooling sensation – the circulation in your lips is gently being increased.  Within a few short minutes the lips will appear fuller and more defined.

This product (while does look a bit pink) is colorless and long lasting.  The formula has a great sweet honey scent, but it not overpowering at all for those who are sensitive to fragrance.  I love that it is not sticky and I can rub my lips together consistently (as I like to do) and it feels comfortable on.

Packaging is simple, but cute.  I love the pink that adorns it and the standard doe foot applicator makes applying the product onto the lips a breeze.  I like to keep my tube in my purse to apply on the go.  Because Sublime Lips is not sticky, it makes the perfect moisturizer for my lips while giving me a natural plump look.

Clinical tests for key ingredient HilurlipTM (a proprietary blend of hyaluronic acid and tripeptide-1) demonstrated the following results:

  • Lips achieved up to a 30% increase in fullness after 30 days. (A 9.2% increase was the average.)
  • 85% of participants noticed a volumizing effect.*
  • 70% experienced anti-aging and rejuvenating effects.*
  • 100% were satisfied with the moisturizing and emollient effects.*

Sublime Lips by Cheeky Physique includes key ingredients like: Manuka Honey (an ingredient that is packed with antioxidants, it’s the ideal ingredient to hydrate, nourish and protect the lips), Hyaluronic Acid (Sublime Lips contains hyaluronic acid microspheres that swell when they come in contact with skin moisture, hydrating and plumping the lips) and Tripeptide-1 (a natural ingredient that supports natural collagen production for visible volume enhancement.  Tripeptide-1 also helps protect skin cells from signs of aging for smoother, younger, sexier-looking lips.)

Since I have naturally full lips, I didn’t think that this product would do much in helping to plump them.  But after the first use of Sublime Lips, I noticed that my lips not only looked juicier but smoother.  And, what I love about this product is that while it has a gloss effect, my husband will still kiss me because it doesn’t feel sticky like a traditional gloss.  It has a little bit of tack to it – but overall feels like a lip oil with a little more body.

Above are my lips taken before applying Sublime Lips.  My lips have been exfoliated but do not have any lip balm on them.  This image was taken with my phone and has been cropped, but not edited.  You can see the fine lines in my lips and lack of definition.  I might also add that this photograph was taken right before applying sublime lips and first thing in the morning after my morning skin care routine.

Above are my lips after applying Sublime Lips.  My lips have had the product on for about 30 seconds and the tingling and cooling (while I can still feel them) are not as prominent.   Not only do my lips look glossy, but they look and feel hydrated, have increased in volume some what and look moisturized.  The lip line where my cupid’s bow is has plumped up some and doesn’t look as dark – leaving my lips looking smooth and juicy.

While the tingling does go away (and again, it is not that strong), I find that you still have a slight mint like feel to the lips until you remove the product.  With eating or drinking, Sublime Lips will come off but reapplying the product is not difficult and it doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky or weird when the product is removed.  I absolutely love that this plumper includes Hyaluronic Acid, as it is a product I use daily on my skin and I can totally feel and notice the difference with this additive in Sublime Lips.

Over the years, my hair has lost a lot of its curl thanks to my consistent use of heat on it.  Because of this, I try my best to use my hair as natural as possible, using products that not only infuse moisture into my hair, but protect my hair shaft and define my curls.  Most of the products I use are formulated with ingredients like coconut oil (I also use the real thing on my hair all the time) to help keep my hair hydrated and my curls springy.  Recently I have added awesome products from Madam C.J. A few tips on how I keep my hair looking fresh and pretty.  Keep in mind that these are my tips and you can taper them to accommodate your hair and hair type.

  • I only really wash my hair about once a week.  Each person can decide to wash more if they decide, but since my hair is so dry, if I wash it more often – I tend to have a crazy head of hair full of frizz.
  • When shampooing, I usually concentrate my shampoo towards the roots and scalp and try to stay away from the length of my hair.  If I feel like my length and ends need a little extra cleansing, I will use a conditioner and co-wash those sections.  Or, I will use the shampoo but try to use one sparingly.

  • Conditioning or a great mask is a must.  Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture’s Frizz Fighting Coconut & Moringa Oils Curl Conditioner is perfect for conditioning the hair and adding in moisture.  Since our curls tend to dry out easily, this conditioner helps to soften and detangle my hair while restoring much needed moisture.  I love that this product is thick enough to coat my hair nicely but still has enough slip to work through my hair, detangle with my fingers and leave my hair smooth, soft and moisturized.

Our Hair Needs Love Too - A Little Hair Care Pampering With Madam C.J. Walker

  • After my shower I tend to use a variety of products that not only lock in the moisture into my hair, but help to define my curls and help with the frizz.  The Curl Defining Milk (Coconut & Moringa Oils) helps to add that extra moisture, fight frizz and define my curls.  It’s like a leave-in conditioner without the weight and helps to form my curls to give them a little extra bounce.

  • After applying the Curl Defining Milk, I add the Flyaway Curl Control Serum which helps to fight frizz, protect the hair and add shine.  This serum smells delicious (as do the other products) and is a water-resistant serum that adds a protective barrier to help block humidity.  One pump is more than enough for my whole head of hair.  I apply to my ends and work my way up my shaft to my scalp to help protect my hair and help with the frizz.

  • When I’m looking for a little hold, I will add a light weight mousse or gel to help keep my curls defined and in place but most the time, that consists of my hair care routine and the extra pampering I do to treat my hair to some love.  Since I only wash my hair once a week (2x at the most), after my 2nd or 3rd day of hair, I tend to add a refresher to help rejuvenate my curls if they are starting to fall flat.  I have been using the Curl Refresher Mist to help reactivate my curls and redefine them as well as soften and eliminate the frizz that may have accumulated over the last few days.  This curl refresher is a life saver because I do not need to really re-wet my hair as I would normally and it leaves my hair looking like it’s freshly washed.

Tree Hut Shea Body Butter and Shea Sugar Scrub

I LOVE body products, especially great smelling body products. I’m always looking for new ones when I’m out and about shopping and love when they are affordable and easy to find in your local stores.  Having not tried anything from Tree Hut before, I was very excited to get the opportunity to try out a few of their products.  Today I share with you my thoughts on the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub and Tree Hut Shea Body Butter.

The Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub (Net. Wt. 18 oz / 510g) retails for about $8.00 – $14.00 in stores like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Ulta etc.  This Sugar Scrub (the one I’m talking about particularly) has Brazilian Nut, which offers a sweet scent that kind of reminds me of Caramel.  This sugar scrub offers intense exfoliation and is formulated with Vitamins A, C and E and Brazil nut oil which helps to hydrates and repairs damage skin.  After using this product you will notice a nice healthy glow and smooth skin.  This scrub is gentle, infused with certified organic Shea butter and an arrage of oils like brazil nut oil and natural oils like Evening Primrose, sweet Almond, Avocado, Safflower Seed, Macadamia Seed and Orange oil.  The real sugar grains and ground Walnut shells help to buff away dry and damaged skin, leaving your skin smooth and refreshed.

The light caramel fragrance that this scrub offers is nice and perfect for men and women.  Overall I think the scrub is nice, and I like that even with the Walnuts within the scrub, it’s not harsh or does not scrape my skin.  It really feels nice against my skin, leaves my body feeling moisturized and soft.  I enjoy it.  I would like to try the Coconut Lime or the Honey Almond next.

The Tree Hut Shea Body Butter also in Brazilian Nut (Net Wt. 7oz / 198g) retails for about $7.00 to $10.00 is also available at Amazon, Walmart, Ulta and other stores you can find Tree Hut products.  This body butter smells like the Sugar body scrub… it has a light caramel scent.  It’s a rich shea body butter with a blend of natural moisturizers to nourish the skin.  It contains 27% Organic Shea Butter for effective and noticeable hydration in the skin.  It’s Paraben Free and DMDM Free.  Formulated with Brazilian Nut for an intense moisture that leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and hydrated.  This body butter really helps to soften dry skin, leaving it smooth to the touch.

Due to the oils within this body butter, I definitely suggest using this at night – before bed.  It can leave your skin a little slippery – even if it soaks into your skin.  I love using this at night and then feeling my skin the next morning- soft and silky.  Well the scent is nice, I wish it were a bit sweeter, but ultimately it works okay.  My husband is not really a fan of the fragrance, but he likes the consistency of the products.

Both products utilize Certified Organic Shea Butter and Natural Brazil Nut Oil.  Tree Hut products are made in the USA and they do not test on animals.  It’s great to have some body products from brands that are so readily available in stores and easy to purchase online as well.  Overall I have been enjoying both products and look forward to trying out the other lines from Tree Hut.

If you are looking to try out some new hair care products to prepare your locks for the Spring and Summer months, I think this little set will be perfect for you to try some of the new hair care from Pacifica Beauty.  I’m quite impressed with the line up of products that they have in the New Hair Healing Collection and these three in the set are a great selection to try.  Since I’m a Kale juice for breakfast every morning kind of gal, I love that these offer a super food that’s perfect for my hair.  With all the damage from heat and color or just all around stress, you can’t go wrong with a little help.

You can get this collection or other hair healing products from Pacifica exclusively at Ulta.  The collection includes a variety of awesome hair loving products and I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on the Coconut Super Power line (since we all know I’m a coconut oil addict and coconut lover).  I’m always impressed with what Pacifica has to offer and while most products work, some may not… I can honestly say that it is a brand I continue to enjoy and look forward to trying out new goodies from the line.

I’m so extremely excited to share another Oz Naturals product with all of you.  The Oz Natural’s Super Youth Eye Gel – voted Allure Magazine’s Best in Beauty Eye Gel, is considered to be the most effective in anti-aging.  This little bottle is an eye cream treatment that is designed to treat every major eye concern and is said to be the best eye gel for dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles.  As I have said many many times here before… prevention is key in keeping a youthful look – regardless of age.  So, trying something with such great claims was a must-have for me.  Did this product live up to its claim?  Read on to see…

Like with most Oz Naturals products – the Super Youth Eye Gel is reasonably priced at about $18.00 and comes with 0.5 fl.oz. / 15mL worth of product.  The packaging itself is just like that of the Oz Naturals Matrix 6 Mega Bright Eye Gel (which I reviewed here) and is easy to use, easy to dispense and easy to apply.  When the product is dispensed from the container, it looks like a slightly white gel that is partially translucent and some what opaque, I know that doesn’t make sense… but that’s how I see it.  The gel is smooth, not sticky at all and smooths onto the skin easily without any issues.

Used in combination with some of my favorite eye gels and creams or on its own, this product has definitely been a great addition to my skin care arsenal.  It’s easy to apply and I instantly notice results.  Since my allergies are so bad and I tend to rub my eyes a lot – I can get really puffy eyes, especially in the morning.  With a little tappity-tap-tap of this product on the under eye area as well as near the edges of my eyes where crows feet are and I’m good to go for a natural and fresh look without makeup.  Just like the Oz Naturals Matrix 5 Mega Bright Eye Gel, I found that this product works just as well and I love that it’s light weight, soaks into the skin quickly and I don’t have to worry about a sticky residue once it sets.

If you are all about that anti-aging life, I highly suggest trying out this eye gel.  Like I mentioned before and all the time here on the site, prevention is key in keeping your skin looking youthful.  I attest my good skin and the fact that I don’t need foundation to products that work and it’s much more of a benefit if the product is affordable.  Since a little goes a long way – you definitely get your money’s worth with this product.  I think overall it works well and does the job and you can instantly see a difference once you apply it.  The areas near my eye appear firmer, my under eye circles and puffiness decrease almost instantly or within a few minutes.  I love a product that really shows it’s true colors right after it’s applied.
