I can’t believe that we are just a few days away from the first day of Spring. Don’t get it twisted you guys, I’m totally excited for Spring, but I’m definitely bummed that I won’t be able to use boots as often. I guess my boots will be packed up into the closet until Fall again. It gets so hot here on Maui that Spring and Summer months call for shorts, rompers, and dresses for me. However, this Winter was so much cooler than it has been in years, so I was able to utilize my boots this season. In honor of this interesting winter, I figured I would share my last winter outfit of 2019. Let’s get down to the deets, shall we?
I’m hoping this will be a quick post, but in case I ramble (as I did in my intro), I apologize for that. We all know that I love to get lengthy when I’m sharing… haha!
Outfit Details:
The Cardigan Duster is from Walmart, the Time & Tru brand. It is absolutely perfect for Fall or Winter months and is so soft like chenille. My sister actually lent this cardigan to me because the gorgeous green shade went so well with my outfit. My tie front, button-down, floral top is from a local boutique here in the Hawaii islands called Jeans Warehouse. Black distressed jeans are from Old Navy. My boots, my oh my, the boots… are one of my favorites. These boots are from American Eagle.
The Accessories
My handbag is one of my favorites in my collection. This Patricia Nash Cannes Satchel from the Heritage collection in Camel is gorgeous. I think this bag is so roomy and is the perfect bag for Fall, Winter or year round. My watch is Invicta. I have so many of them in my collection (at least 10, that I can’t recall which one). And, my sunglasses are my Coach Horse & Carriage shades. Bracelets that I’m wearing are handmade by me and I’m using my usual pendant and chain that you may see me sport daily.
Living in Hawaii means that most of the year, we are in cool and comfy clothes. But, I always look forward to the cooler months when I can pull out my boots and dress a little warmer. How about you, what are your favorite fall and winter staples?

It’s been about a year since I last posted an outfit here on Honey Girl’s World. It honestly seems like a lifetime. I’ve been working incredibly hard on my physical, mental and emotional self over the last year and I’m finally comfortable posting outfits again. Don’t get it twisted, I am in no way a fashion blogger, but I love sharing my casual style with all of you. My goal is to get back to sharing affordable or budget-friendly outfits that I love and I hope you love them too.
I posted the above photo to my Instagram last week (when I actually wore this outfit) and everyone seemed to like it. It’s simple, but still offers a great style. I love that I can use this to a casual or dressy affair.
Can you wear Rompers in Fall?
Honestly, if you’re in Hawaii, you could probably get away with a romper for most of the year. But I live on a mountain. Our mornings are chilly and our late afternoons and evenings have crisp, cool air, so I love a sweater and some leggings. But, that’s why I love this romper from Xhilaration so much. It’s not only flowy and comfortable, but it can be worn off the shoulder if you’d like. It has gorgeous lace detailing on the shoulders and arms and covers up the shoulder with just a bit of peek-a-boo for that feminine appeal.
The Outfit Details
I wanted something that would still be a little warmer for Fall in Hawaii, while still allowing me to be cool. I mean, let’s be real for a second here… it’s still Hawaii and it’s still HOT! lol This gorgeous floral romper I am using is from Xhilaration which I purchased at Target. My Hide and Peep Heels in Black are from Jeans Warehouse (a local store here in Hawaii). My sunglasses are a pair that I’ve had for a few years from Quay Australia (unfortunately they are no longer available). For accessories, well, I kept it quite minimal and am using just a few Hawaiian Heirloom bangles for a little jingle and gold. My earrings are made of gorgeous Koa and Shell from a local Artisan named Kalai La’au (Infinitely Kerrie). I don’t change out my purses or handbags as often as I’d like, so you will probably see my Coach Backpack around for the next few weeks.
My Makeup
I went with natural look for my makeup on this day. My brows were filled in with the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer (Brunette). They were set in place with the Pixi Beauty Clear Brow Gel. I’m using a few coats of one of my favorite mascaras, Essence Cosmetics Volume Stylist 18h Lash Extension Mascara. For my lips, I am using the IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush Stain topped with Essence Cosmetics Water Kiss Glossy Lip Color in Aquatic Chic.
Be sure to check out the video on YouTube (embedded below) for what I wore the week I used this outfit. My goal is to post more of these in the future, so I hope you enjoy them.
I also wanted to take the time to thank all of you that have really stuck by me the last year as I got my head on right. After my Daddy passed away in June 2017, I’ve struggled to be in the right mind space and it was a challenge to write anything on the blog. I appreciate all of you and thank you for sticking around. xo

I am totally looking forward to the summer months here on Maui. Summer months here mean spending most of my days lounging on the sand and enjoying the beautiful beaches that Maui has to offer. It also means that the sun is up longer during the day and that leaves more time for walks and working out later in the afternoon. But, due to a condition I’ve been dealing with lately – I’ve gained some weight and I have been covering up my body a little more than usual. Working out or hitting the beach for a plus sized gal can definitely be a challenge when you need to find clothes that fit. And, many women are too modest to wear a tankini or show too much skin. That’s where HydroChic comes in. This awesome company offers versatility in their active wear while giving you the option of covering up a little or just being comfortable. Being plus sized can be a challenge to find swim and active wear that fits and still looks good so today, I’m going to share this awesome brand with you to get you “Summer Ready”.
HydroChic is an athleisure wear line that is versatile and comfortable while offering gorgeous prints and colors for any style preference. HydroChic offers Mix-and-Match Swim and Active Wear that provides the wearer comfortable coverage with less skin, lots more style and UV Protection. For someone like me who lives in the sun most days (especially in the summer) whether it is for play or exercise, this line is absolutely perfect.
There are more than 100 slimming mix-n-match separates to choose from, regardless of your size – girls, missy, plus sized, you name – they have it. And, if you’re like me and want a little more coverage, they got your “covered” literally. HydroChic offers lightweight, chlorine-resistant and chlorine-proof stretch fabric that dries really quickly and provides you with UPF 50+ sun protection. It’s durable, yet super flexible and allows you to use it at the beach or pool or to the gym, yoga or whatever your heart desires. It’s designed so that it doesn’t constrict movement and is sporty and figure flattering. With a variety of shorts, pants, leggings, long, short and sleeveless tops (with several bra options) and versatile swim dress, skirts and skorts – you are completely covered.
I am using the Black Tribal Sleeveless Swim n’ Gym Top (retail $72.00) that came with a Swim/Sports BRA with cups which make it easy for me to use with a little bit of push-up.
Details of the Tidal Tank Sporty Sleeveless Swim n’ Gym Top: Back zippered pocket is perfect to securely stash keys, ID, money Chlorine resistant Fabric XTRA LIFE LYCRA®/ Nylon Comes with a complimentary swim/sports bra Available in Missy XS-XL and Plus Full Cut 0X-3X Quick drying UPF 50+ sun protection.
I am also using the Diving Diva Black Swim and Bike Shorts (retail $58.00, not chlorine proof) which is available in sizes XS-XL in Missy and 0X-4x in Plus.
Details of the Diving Diva Black Swim and Bike Shorts. Mix and match them with any of our fitness tops. Covered elastic waistband, Plus Size has wider supportive waistband. Chlorine resistant. Fabric: XTRA LIFE LYCRA®/ Nylon. Available in Missy XS-XL and Plus Full Cut 0X-4X. Quick drying. UPF 50+ sun protection. Shorts are 19” long in a size Medium, inseam is 9”. The bottoms are designed to sit at the natural waist line.
Now, I’ve had my HydroChic set for just under a year and it’s been washed and worn many many times. I throw mine in the dryer on the low setting to dry – though I definitely suggest line drying to help keep your HydroChic wear in optimal condition. Even after almost a year – each piece looks brand new so I know it’s made with quality materials and craftsmanship.
I absolutely love how comfortable these all fit on my body, no weird bunching and funky cuts that make sitting or standing odd. The top is perfect for me when running, walking or working out because it helps to keep me cool and it’s not overly form fitting so it is easy for me to move in – whether swimming, jogging or any type of sports, it’s just easy to use.
HydroChic is available at select stores throughout the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Israel, and online at www.hydrochic.com. Available in sizes Missy and Plus–4X. Prices range from $29.50 to $95.00.
About HydroChic – HydroChic, LLC. was co-founded by Daniella Teutsch and Sara Wolf, and launched in May, 2008. The idea came to them one day at the Jersey Shore as they watched women of all ages slather themselves with sunscreen and pull sloppy men’s t-shirts over their traditional bathing suits to protect their skin from sun damage. They knew that more fashionable coverage options were missing in the swimwear market. Only then did they realize how many other women were searching for the very same swimwear solutions. HydroChic is based in New Rochelle, NY.
With summer right around the bend, now is the perfect time to choose out a summer hit and I know HydroChic will be one you’ll enjoy. Back in my surfing days – I would have loved something like this because it would help to keep my “girls” in place without they bouncing around for everyone to see and I wouldn’t have to worry about my top or bottoms flying off after being tumbled in a wave. Any woman or girl who surfs, knows this dilemma and HydroChic would have made a great addition to my swim and surf wear back in the day. I’m glad I can utilize it now. The outfit is perfect for days when I take my sons to the beach or pool – because I don’t have to worry about one of them tugging on my top and it falling off revealing the girls… ya know?
HydroChic offers so many styles to choose from that I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy. Shipping is very quick and I enjoyed it so much I purchased several for my sisters since they like to be a little more covered up when hitting the sand too. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still rock a bikini or tankini but I love that I have an option if I’m just not feeling up to revealing some skin.
Check out all of their designs and full line of products available at: http://hydrochic.com/
So, are you a little more conservative when you hit the beach, pool or workout? If so, do you think that HydroChic would work for your style and comfort? Let me know in the comments below if you think they could be your next summer hit.

Ah, Winter time in Hawaii is my favorite time of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I love the ocean and sand and the warm Spring and Summer months but Winter, well – when it’s cold that means my favorite Holidays are near. Winter in Hawaii is not your traditional warm coat and scarves, thermals and beanies… though, I’ll be honest – that hasn’t stopped me in the past from rocking them out and wearing them on a chilly day. Most of the time, our colder months will yield us about 70 degree weather which is quite comfortable for many. But, for me – living on the highest mountain on my island of Maui has its benefits. Between hot cocoa and marshmallows to warm fuzzy slippers and boots, I can usually dress warm since the mountain usually experiences between 50 – 60 degree weather during the winter time and sometimes it can even get to about 40 degrees. While we still enjoy our sunshine, the cold and crisp air allow me to really utilize my various winter clothing and dress up. This year we have already had a few cold chills come our way so I figured I would share how I tend to dress up when it’s chilly but the sun is still out. Here is how I stay warm during the Winter in Hawaii. It’s no secret that I am a tomboy girly girl. What does that mean you say? Well, it means I like the girly glittery things but I’m still a down home tomboy at heart. I like to get down and dirty, wrench on cars and shoot guns. While I love all the makeup and frilly things that come with being a female, I’m a true tomboy who will get my hands dirty and have a little fun. That also means that I like to dress in what fits well and feels good. Winter time for me is all about cozy and comfy so a great flannel (or plaid) jacket with a warm pair of boots will ALWAYS bring a smile to my face. Let’s take a look at my ensemble I have put together here, shall we?
I paired this particular plaid flannel with a pair of fuzzy Microfiber Boots from DAWGS because it reminded me of my teenage years in the 90s. Some of my favorite inspirations come from the women in the 90s like Da Brat, Aaliyah, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Eve, Charlie Baltimore, Lisa Left Eye Lopes & TLC. In the 90s when I was in high school, baggy jeans, flannel jackets and Timberlands were a part of my every day style so it’s something I still consistently gravitate to. It has that tomboy swag with a little old school that I love so you can basically find me dressed as such during cooler weather.
The DAWGS Women’s 9 inch Microfiber boot is one of the most popular boots from the brand. Built for comfort and warmth, the microfiber boots come padded with a memory foam insole and faux shearling liner. The boot is perfect for walking about when cold to keep warm because it has a slip-resistant rubber sole. The round toe and shorter 9 inch shaft fits a variety of foot and calf widths. If you’re still on the hunt for holiday gifts for friends and family, definitely check out DAWGS and their selection of footwear available. DAWGS makes great holiday gifts for loved ones and I purchase from them all the time, because my boys and husband love the quality that DAWGS products provide.
I’ve been a fan of DAWGS footwear for a while now because their pricing is reasonable, but mainly because of how comfortable the footwear is. I love these boots because they do not get hot, sticky and sweaty when the weather starts to get warmer and they are so cozy it’s like walking around with bedroom slippers. Not to mention, these boots fit my thick and chunky calves perfectly so they work well for a plus sized gal like me.
On a day when a flannel cover up is just too warm, I can transition my DAWGS Microfiber boots easily into a casual look without sacrificing the warmth they give me. In the look above I simply paired my jeans and boots with a t-shirt for a relaxed, casual look that allows me to be comfortable while still cozy.
Shirt – HI Demand Clothing
Did I mention I just love boots…? I love a great boot but most of my boots have stiletto heels so I haven’t been able to use them due to an ankle injury I sustained about a month ago. That’s why DAWGS Microfiber Boots are my jam this winter. I think style is basically a matter of a person’s individual taste and how comfortable they are. Over the years I have put on some weight which has made it a little more of a challenge finding anything that fits, but overall anything that’s comfy, cozy and allows me to be me, works just fine. Yes, while Hawaii is warm, we do experience our own form of winter and since I live on the mountain, it gets a lot colder up here than most people realize. Puffy jackets, scarves and beanies are all products I pull out for winter wear and fuzzy warm boots make that list too.
If you are still on the hunt for Holiday Gifts this year, definitely head on over to DAWGS and check them out. They have sizes for the whole family and a wide array of footwear for every need no matter what time of the year.

When it comes to jewelry, I’m pretty picky. I’ve discussed this time and time again and have mentioned it before, but because I have sensitive skin – finding the perfect jewelry piece can be a challenge. I am also someone that tends to gravitate towards dainty pieces that offer a statement without looking gaudy or too overdone. Let’s face it, we all know that I’m a casual girl and prefer a pair of jeans and boots to slacks and heels. But, that’s what makes our world so unique and fun… it’s that we all have our own individual style and flare. For me, I love something that is personal, offers a special touch and if it’s gold… hey, we got a winner. Today I’m going to introduce you to gorgeous personalized jewelry from Six Sisters Beadworks. I love a sweet piece of jewelry and this one, well it absolutely screams Honey… literally. lol
Six Sisters Beadworks is the business owned by Michelle who launched her jewelry business with the goal of introducing to others a gorgeous line of timeless keepsake gifts that are meant to be cherished for a lifetime. With classic heirloom pieces that are personalized with names, initials, dates and birthstones – they are crafted from the finest materials of .925 Sterling Silver, 14K gold filled, genuine Swarovski Crystals, freshwater pearls and natural gemstones. Michelle Bisesto’s jewelry designs are beautiful and what I love about them the most, is that they are timeless.
Each of the pieces that are offered at Six Sisters Beadworks are created and handmade with great attention to detail and a serious interest in fine craftsmanship. The designs are innovative and exciting offering pieces for babies, little girls, teens and women and they make beautiful custom made gifts. Recently Michelle has added custom pieces for boys and men as well for a classic and modern style.
I received the Hand Stamped Gold Cuff Bracelet – $102.00. When it comes to jewelry I look for attention to detail and I’m absolutely in love with this bracelet. It is a smooth 14K Gold Filled cuff that is hand formed and personalized. This piece is simplistic, but classy and can be worn anytime with anything. I am plus sized and found that this cuff fit perfectly and I was able to bend it open to place it onto my wrist with ease. You can personalize your cuff with special names, initials, date or phrase and I chose to go simple with just my name – HONEY.
This cuff bracelet can be worn on its own or as part of your arm candy with other bracelets. I love how easy it is to use and pair with your favorite styles and fashions. It’s well made and has stood up to my daily use without any tarnishing or discoloration.
Jewelry Care for any pieces ordered from Six Sisters Beadworks includes: -Keep jewelry dry. -Remove before sleeping. -Remove before changing clothes. -Please do NOT use silver polish on alphabet beads. -Sterling Silver does tarnish slowly over time due to exposure to air. This bracelet as well as the others offered at Six Sisters Beadworks are unique, beautiful and would make a great gift.
