We are literally just a few short days away from celebrating Mother’s Day.  As a mother, I look forward to spending this day with my husband and sons because they are the ones that make me a mom, but this year, my eldest son will be off island for a band concert and I’m certainly going to miss him.  If you’re wondering why it has taken me so long to share with you a little gift guide as I tend to do each year, well – that’s the reason!  I’ve been able to spend this day with all of my boys since they were born so I have been in my own little pity party the last few days knowing that he wouldn’t be home.  A few days ago, I realized that I needed to get over myself and be thankful that my husband and sons treat me like Mother’s Day is every day and no special day on the calendar is ever required.  So – while I am a bit late at sharing my gift lift with all of you – I figured that I would make this post because any day is a great day to get a treat – right?

The first thing on my list is this gorgeous necklace from The Vintage Pearl which you can find on The Grommet.  The Grommet has to be one of my go-to websites for finding unique gifts for my loved ones.  This Messy Nest Necklace is a cute treasured keepsake and I absolutely love it.  Whether you are getting it for your moms or grandmothers, I’m sure it will be a hit.  The necklace starts at $42.00 and is handcrafted in the United States of antiqued silver wire.  Each nest is handcrafted and filled with freshwater pearls – one for each child in the wearer’s heart.  It’s set on a sterling silver ball chain and can be customized to match the number of children in the family.  The creator of The Vintage Pearl is a mom herself and started creating from her kitchen table in hopes to be able to be a stay at home and work from home mom. This is probably one of my favorite pieces to share with you because it’s certainly a sentimental piece.  I hope that The Vintage Pearl will offer this in gold one day.

Now, when I think of Mother’s Day – I always associate a really great face mask as a gift.  Here’s the deal, I LOVE an awesome face mask and some of my favorites come from Miss Spa.  If you’ve been a long time follower of my blog, then you know I’ve raved and talked about this brand a lot over the years.  What I love about Miss Spa is their wide range of masks available for a variety of skin types and textures.  You literally can find one to fit your needs or someone you love.

Bath Bombs are a favorite gift to receive and to give on Mother’s Day.  For years my sons and I made creations of our favorite scents and dried flowers to give as gifts, a tradition that my sisters and I did when we were teenagers.  One of my long time favorite handcrafted websites for great bath, body and essential oils is Sky Organics.  I’ve been using their essential oils for a few years now and I just had to include them in this guide.  All moms deserve a little pampering and bath bombs are those little fizzy wonders that just help any mom relax.  Sky Organics offers their Organic Bath Bombs Gift Set for just $25.99 (one of my favorites besides my own handmade ones) and it includes 6 beautiful bath bombs in an assortment of scents – Caribbean Coconut (my favorite), Lavender Lemon Muffin, Love Potion, Mermaid Kiss, Strawberry Milkshake and Sugar Rose.  These beauties are made in the USA and each bath bomb has a net weight of 5 oz.  It’s a total steal for sure.

If bath bombs aren’t your thing, then be sure to check out their wide range of essential oils.  They offer a set with all of their oils for just $50.  Did I mention they also provide FREE SHIPPING.  Head on over to their website here for more information.

Who says hair products and tools don’t make great gifts?  Not me!  I would love to get a fab hair tool for Mother’s Day so I figured I would include something that would help mom eliminate the “hair tool storage” and get a 3 in 1 that can do the trick.  The CHI Ellipse 3-in-1 Styling Iron is a great tool to make convenience mom’s game.  You can create a multitude of looks using this very versatile styler that includes 3 styling options in one tool.  With Teflon and Titanium plates to create smooth and sleep styles on a non-stick surface.  You can great smooth hair, curls and waves with just one tool.  The styler has adjustable temperature settings that heat up to 410 °F / 210 °C.  It has a ceramic heater for consistent temperature and an LED touch sensitive temperature control and display.  You also get a temperature lock feature (oooh… fancy) and a 1 hour shut-off.  I also love that it comes with it’s own glove, so you have everything you need for the perfect hair style.  The CHI Ellipse 3-in-1 Styling Iron retails for $110 but the price is reasonable considering the quality of the product and the fact that you can use it for more than one style.

This next gift idea is untraditional, but definitely something worth mentioning.  The Revolar Instinct (I’ll have a full review on this product in the next week or so) has been a very important part of my everyday.  Retailing for $80, this little device can be the perfect gift in a big way.  The Revolar is a product that is brand new (the Indiegogo campaign has just completed) but a tool that I think is very worth the while.  It’s a quarter sized connect button that with 1-3 clicks, the Instinct can send different custom alerts to friends and family to let them know where the user is and what level of help they need.  Unfortunately, sexual assault is on a rise here in the United States and violence against women is at an all-time high.  You can send help to your location with a few clicks of this wearable device.  It not only empowers you to be proactive about your safety, but this little Instinct will help ou stay in touch with loved ones as well.  Did I mention it also tracks your steps?  There are no chords, and easy to use device and you can replace a battery in about a year so you don’t have to worry about charging it.  Last year my mom was sitting in a parking lot when someone tried to attack her.  Luckily she was in her car and was able to escape.  When I was 4 years old, a man attempted to kidnap me, I was in his car and he was about to drive away when my dad stopped him in his tracks.  Devices like this are easy to use and definitely worth it.  I wish I had one for each person in my family.  I had to share this with you because it’s a gift I think that would be invaluable to any mom and anyone.  Like I said, a full review will be coming soon – so stay tuned.

I’ll be honest, as a mother, I can honestly say that any type of gift is such a wonderful sentiment, but I never expect it.  I think that Mother’s Day is every day of the year for me and I’m so lucky to call myself a mom.  I love creating handmade gifts for my mom and my mother in law from all of us because I think it’s special and I’m quite good with a glue gun.  Little flowers or hairpins decorated in fabric or paper always seem to make our loved ones happy.  At the end of the day – a gift should come from the heart, whether purchased or made.  My sons make me handmade cards each year and I cherish them with all my heart.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

I want to remind you that Mother’s Day is every single day of the year.  If you’ve been following me a while then you know that I believe this to be so with Valentine’s Day too.  Hmmm… I wish Christmas and birthdays were every day of the year also, hahaha!  Anyway – no matter the gift or sentiment you give to the moms in your life, make it special.  This last minute gift guide was not intended to be late, but I’m reminded that a present for mom doesn’t have to be given only one day a year so even if you miss picking up one of these for that special lady in your life – feel free to use this as a guide to put together a special treat for her at anytime.

I want to take this time to wish all of the mommies out there (whether you have human children or fur babies) a wonderful Mother’s Day this Sunday.  May your day be filled with lots of love and hugs and a whole lot of warmth and happiness.

“To the world you are a Mother, but to your family you are the World.”

I know, I know… we are already in the second month of the new year, but it really is the perfect time to get started on a great skin care regimen (if you haven’t already started).  By this time, your skin is probably over the dry and cold winter weather and looking for a way to escape – I know mine is.  I find that this time of the year is the perfect time to get my skin in check and get it clear, healthy and ready to welcome Spring.  I also find that since I’ve been using minimal makeup lately, I really need to make sure that the products I choose will help bring my fresh and bright face forward.  I try a lot of skin care products and over the last month or so, I also included Derma E into that mix.  Let’s check it out, shall we?

new year skin care, skin care, beauty, blemishes, Derma E, scrub, mask, face mask, purifying face mask, purifying scrub, facial scrub, detox scrub, review, product review, anti-aging,

The first thing I wanted to touch base on is the Derma E Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask ($19.50 – Net. wt. 1.7 oz / 48g).  Now a similar mask from Derma E has been one of my favorites over the last year or so, but I love the new packaging design and overall look of their products and the new additives that this mask has.  This mask helps to deeply detoxify the skin of harmful micropollutants in two ways:  1)  The natural clays infused with Kimarine Wakame, Bladerwrack and Activated Charcoal lift out dirt, oil and bacteria to congest pores as the mask dries; and 2) Apricot Seed Powder exfoliates away dead skin cells and captured debris upon removal while the Kaolin and Bentonite Clay absorb excess oils and impurities, relieving skin congestion.

Now – let’s talk a bit technical for a moment and discuss how this all works – shall we?  The Kimarine Wakame is a potassium-rich, magnesium-rich seaweed that is clinically proven to protect the skin against environmental pollutants like exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke and heavy metals.  Bladderwrack is an antioxidant-rich, mineral-rich seaweed known for its water-binding properties, supporting healthy skin hydration and nourishment.  The Activated Charcoal is known for absorbing 100 to 200 times its weight in impurities, to purge the pores of deeply rooted toxins and the Apricot Seed Powder gently exfoliates away the micropollutants.  All of these things working together create a mask that is ideal for oil, active or urban skin types, and is safe for reactive skin since it has minimal ingredients and is allergy tested.  Derma E suggests using this formula once or twice a week to see skin that looks dramatically fresher, healthier and purely glowing.

Now – I talked about how I have used the other mask in the past but there is a bit of a difference in this mask versus the other Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask I’ve used.  I can only use that mask once every 2 weeks or so to avoid and Eczema flare up, but this one I could use once a week.  This mask has small little Apricot Seeds inside to really help with exfoliating.  After using this mask my skin looks so bright, fresh and clean and it’s one of my favorites to use about 3-4 days before a big event or date night because my skin is literally glowing.  Using this mask in combination with my other skin care products (from different brands) has been great and I’m loving that I can get these products at my local stores, making it easy for me to consistently keep up with the regimen.

Next on my list is the Derma E Purifying Daily Detox Scrub ($15.50 – Net. wt. 4 oz. / 113g).  This scrub is one of my favorites for my sensitive skin.  It’s gentle enough for daily use to help lift away micropollutants and impurities while still promoting oxgenation for a fresh, healthy radiant look.  This mask is Doctor developed and clinically tested.  It is a revitalizing formula that contains some of the most powerful minerals and natural toxin fighters from the earth and from the sea.  With Kimarine Wakame (which I mentioned above and stated what it’s great benefits are) to Bladderwrack, Activated Charcoal, Apricot Seed Powder and Green Tea which delivers potent antioxidant defense.  This product is also ideal for oily skin and is safe for reactive skin since it also has minimal ingredients and is allergy-tested.  If you are looking for a formula that boosts skin purity for a refreshed, glowing complexion, you’ll really enjoy this one.

While you can use this scrub daily, I only use it every other day since again, my skin is quite sensitive.  I love how fresh and clean my skin feels after I’ve used this scrub and I think it will be one of those products that I enjoy from Derma E.  I love that this scrub is non-irritating and soothes my skin leaving it really soft after just one use.  I will a notation however, that this is not the traditional type of scrub you would expect to use, it’s thicker than usual (because of the clay) and the bits of Apricot Seed Powder is larger than I had expected.  It makes a great scrub for the body too – though I’ve been enjoying it on my face.

This particular scrub is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil free, lanolin-free, gluten free and GMO-free.

Like I said before, while I do have a certain regimen I like to keep to and love trying new skin care products, it’s kind of cool to add new ones to my mix and I’ve been enjoying these from Derma E.  Have you tried anything from Derma E and if you have, what are your favorites or the ones you enjoy?  Have you tried these?  If so, what do you think about them.

When it comes to makeup – I have an overall love relationship with most of the things I’ve tried.  I pride myself in the fact that I have favorites from both the drugstore and high end, luxury items.  There’s no doubt, I’m a makeup lover with an extreme cosmetic addition… hehe!  Don’t judge me, lol!  I have been using Pixi Beauty products for a few years now, but today I’m sharing with you a few of my current Pixi Beauty favorites.  Recently I received a little green box of treats and I have been loving them all so much that I just had to share it with you.  Let’s chit chat about each one shall we?

All of the products I got in my little sweet green box were “new to me” treats so I was very excited to dive in and check it out.  The Nourishing Cleansing Balm is something that I’ve had my eyes on since seeing it on the website a few weeks ago.  This deep cleansing balm-to-oil cleanser immediately caught my attention because I cleanse and moisturize with oil daily, so it was something I really wanted to give a try.  The balm melts aware makeup and impurities to leave you with clear, glowing skin.

Retailing for $22.00 (90 mL/3.04 fl.oz.), this nourishing balm has sweet almond oil and cocoa butter and leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturized after each use.  I love that it includes skin loving ingredients and is not harmful to my sensitive skin.  If I had to choose one of my absolute FAVORITE products from Pixi that I’ve tried, this balm right here, would be at the top of my list.  I LOVE IT!  It’s very rich in texture, but smooths onto the skin so nicely and cleanses so quickly.  It nourishes my skin with sweet almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E to leave my skin feeling plum and nourished.

To follow the Nourishing Cleansing Balm, I use the Pixi Glow Tonic (100mL / $15.00).  Now – they call this a cult favorite and I’ve been hearing my blogger friends swoon and rave about this product for a while, so I just couldn’t wait to try it out.  This toner is an exfoliating toner that helps give you brighter, more radiant skin.  I have a secret to share… I can’t use Toner often and hardly use it because it causes my skin to get irritated.  I was afraid to try this, even if I had only heard great things about it.  This miracle in a bottle toner helps to bright the complexion while resulting in a healthy glow.  It’s formulated with 5% glycolic acid and helps to exfoliate, brighten and smooth your skin.  With Aloe Vera, ginseng and botanical extracts working together, you are nourishing and treating your skin while revealing an improved complexion.  I also LOVE that this is alcohol-free.  I use this after cleansing and apply with one of my favorite reusable rounds from Facekins.  I don’t notice any burning or irritation while using this product and my skin looks brighter after using it for a few weeks.  While I’m not the toning kind of gal, I think this will be one I’ll continue to use.

Ingredients: Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Glycolic Acid, Ammonium Glycolate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol (and) Fructose (and) Glucose (and) Sucrose (and) Urea (and) Dextrin (and) Alanine (and) Glutamic Acid (and) Aspartic Acid (and) Hexyl Nicotinate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Biotin, Polysorbate 20.

The Pixi Beauty Rose Oil Blend ($24 – 30 mL/1.01 fl.oz.) is also a product I have not tried before.  It includes a botanical blend infused with powerful complex of youth-preserving oils to help improve skin’s elasticity and glow.  Formulated with sweet almond, rose hip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils to help nourish the complexion, leaving my skin feeling smooth and hydrated… but most importantly – soft to the touch.  If you’ve been following me a while, then you know I’m an oil moisturizer gal – I use coconut oil to moisturize each night with my regular skin care routine, so I’m always excited to try out new oils.  I love this one.  I love the packaging – but the oil applies and soaks into my skin so quickly and easily.  I love mixing this with my standard skin care regimen for moisture that lasts all day and night and my skin feels so incredibly soft.  The oil soaks into my skin quickly, it doesn’t sit on the surface like others can do.  It doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily at all – but moisturized and half a dropper full is more than enough to cover my entire face, neck and decollete area.  If I want to have that dewy/glowing skin look, I will blend the Rose Oil Blend with my regular moisturizer and apply to my face.  It leaves my skin looking and feeling like I just stepped out from under a waterfall – fresh and glowing.

Ingredients: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil.

Ah, of course – I can’t leave out a gorgeous highlight, because we all know that Honey loves to glow.  The Beauty Blush Duo & Kabuki in Peach Honey ($18 – 10.21 g/0.35 oz.) is GORGEOUS.  I love a great highlight but I have a skin tone that is not quite dark but not light at all – an in between.  So because of this, a daily highlighter and blush with shimmer is hard to find… well, until now.  This gorgeous blush and highlighter duo is perfect for that lit-from-within look for fuss free beauty in just a few seconds.  Simple swirl the kabuki brush (which is included – woohoo), into the compact and pick up the color to apply to your cheeks for a great and gorgeous glow.  Both powders are super silky and provide your cheeks with a flawless and fresh finish.  I LOVE these for everyday use because it provides me with the glow I want in an everyday product, without looking like I just came out of the disco era… but still enough color to be show stopping.

The natural mineral formula of these powders is infused with vitamin E and mica, so it treats your skin as you wear it.  You get hydration and long wear with light diffusing capabilities.  The Kabuki brush that is included is also a steal.  It’s soft and applies the product nicely to the skin.  Definitely a great duo to have for every day use or those days you are feeling you want a little more glam.  I love golden hued highlighters so this takes the cake for me and the peachy toned blush is perfect for my everyday look.  The blush is a tad bit too light for my skin tone, but that excites me more because it makes for a great everyday flush of color without looking like I just plopped rose colored paint on my face.  I love both shades – both pigmented and gorgeous.

It seems as if I have covered everything except for lips.  I want to introduce you to the Pixi Beauty Liplift Max ($14 – 2.7 g / 0.09oz).  A volume-maximizing lip treatment with peptides to hydrate and plump the lips… YAAAASSSSS… sign me up!  This volume-maximizing lip treatment has a cooling sensation with a glossy finish.  It is formulated with peptides to hydrate, firm and plump the lips.  You also get an added benefit of aloe to  heal, jojoba to moisturize and chamomile to soothe.  With a fresh mint flavor, you simply can’t go wrong.  I have the Liplift Max in Honey Sheen – a gorgeous nude shade.  All of the three shades (including Honey Sheen) are sheer, but they make perfect toppers to your favorite lipsticks or liners and wear nicely.  I’m not a huge gloss fan but I do tend to wear glosses in the winter months and this one is perfect for such.  It helps to hydrate my lips while leaving them looking plump and full.  I am a huge fan of Buxom lip glosses so I had used those to compare to this one.  It seems like this one offers the plumping without the sting and I like the minty flavor.

I think the LipLift Max is perfect for topping off your matte lippies and while it is a bit sticky, it’s not that bad and still wearable in my book.  I’ve been getting lots of use out of this product for a daily lip gloss and I find that it works as I would expect.  It’s a little thick, but still workable and leaves a gorgeous sheen on the lips.  If you are a fan of glosses, you may like this one.

I love when I have the chance to try out new products from a brand I already love.  It’s especially fun when these new products work well with my sensitive skin.  I’ve always been a fan of Pixi Beauty and have talked about many of their products in the past.  I’m loving trying out some things that are new to me.  I’m sure there will be more products in the future that I’ll try and love because Pixi is one of those brands that offer good quality.  Pixi products are a little more costly than your average drugstore finds, but I am so excited to have Target near me now that I can browse through and pick up my favorites.  If you haven’t tried Pixi before, I highly suggest checking them out.  If I had to choose just one item from all of these I featured, I highly suggest the Nourishing Cleansing Balm – seriously, it’s a favorite for sure.

I talk a lot about skin care here on my blog and I love sharing new products I haven’t heard of before with all of you.  So, today – like any day is especially “special” because I’m sharing a product line that is new to me but something that offers multi-purpose skin care for anyone.  BOOM! By Cindy Joseph is the first pro-age cosmetic line designed for women of every generation.  This line is built on the principle of celebrating all ages as beautiful and her products don’t intend to “fix” or “cover-up” – but instead, enhance the color, glow and natural radiance of every woman.

skin care, women, ageless women, Boom! by Cindy Joseph, Cindy Joseph, BOOM!, beauty, anti-aging, highlight, contour, blush, eye shadow, moisturizer, body moisturizer, face moisturizer, lubricant, honey, anti-aging skin care,

Whether you are looking for a minimal and simplistic approach to makeup for that fresh faced look or want to use cosmetics that are made simply and healthy with non-toxic ingredients, or you want to get your skin ready to handle the harsh elements that Fall and Winter can have – this skin care line is definitely worth checking out.  Beauty is about natural color, glow, moisture and happiness (joy) so why not try something that can be absolutely fabulous for your skin.

“You don’t have to ‘put on’ your face anymore.  You already have one.” – Cindy Joseph

BOOM! By Cindy Joseph is a line that includes a number of multi-purpose beauty products that can be used on cheeks, eyes, lips and elsewhere on the body for a  natural look that works for both day and evening, at work or play or something that will quickly become essential to your beauty routine.  Her products are perfect and proven to compliment every skin tone, race and generation which helps to dramatically pare down your overstuffed cosmetics bag.

Since I don’t really use foundation unless it’s a special event or I’m looking to really dress up some, I thought this line would fit perfectly in my “natural makeup” look that I’ve been sporting lately.  I also love these products because Cindy Joseph worked with friends in Hawaii to create her products.  Let me share with you the details of the products I was able to try out and you can decide if it’s something you want to check out for yourself.

BOOM Silk (left), BOOM Cotton (right)

BOOMSILK (2 oz. – $21.00 / 4 oz. – $36.00 / 8 oz. – $58.00) is a moisturizer that you can use for your entire face and body.  This moisturizer can be applied to delicate skin around your eyes, to your lips, your face and your neck and can also be smoothed over your entire body.  When using this product, you are applying only the most protective, safe and healing ingredients to your skin.

Ingredients: BOOMSILK contains only the most beneficial ingredients and nothing more: Purified water, organic extra virgin olive oil, beeswax with propolis and pollen, raw Pupekea wildflower honey, and d-alpha Vit E (no soy).

BOOMSilk feels great on the skin.  At first, I thought it was a bit oilier than I would have liked, but once it smooths into the skin, it soaks up into the skin so quickly, it disappears leaving your face and body hydrated and smooth.  I truly enjoy using this product and have found that I’m using it often – much more than I had expected.  If I had to make a note with regard to ingredients, since I’m a coconut lover myself, I would have loved to see coconut oil used in place of the organic extra virgin olive oil, since it works so well with my skin already.

BOOM Cotton (2 oz – $32.00 / 4 oz – $54.00) is a unique non-oily moisturizer.  Your skin will absolutely drink this product up, yet leave no trace of oil or shine on the skin.  Your skin will be left with a gorgeous healthy glow and feel quenched and moisturized.  But, this non-oily moisturizer can also be used on your entire body.  And, like the BOOM Silk and the rest of the products from BOOM, it is handmade in small batches by bee keepers in Hawaii.  Boom Cotton is organic and pure. There are no emulsifiers, binders, parabens, phthalates, colors or perfumes in the formulation.  Boom Cotton is also cruelty free and gluten free.

Ingredients:  BOOM COTTON contains only the most beneficial ingredients and nothing more: Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis), Organic Witch Hazel Extract, Organic Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Wilelaiki (Christmas Berry) Honey, Vitamin E Oil (Tocobial Liquid)

This moisturizer is probably my favorite out of all the products I’ve tried, and I do enjoy them all – but there is something about this one.  The texture of this product is quite odd, but interesting.  When applied to the skin, it feels light and almost cooling.  This product will be perfect for year round to help sooth dry skin or great to apply during the summer when it’s hot, because it just feels so cool and calming on the skin.  I love this and if you can only try one product from the line, I highly suggest this one.

BOOM Touch (left), BOOM Mask (right)

BOOM Touch (2 oz. – $28.00) is something for those sensual beings.  Women of every age can now enjoy using a safe product that enhances sensual pleasure while providing extra lubrication.  This product naturally enhances sensation, is safe to use internally and to ingest and it doesn’t include any additional scent of flavor.  It offers long lasting lubrication.  The benefit of this cream vs other products for vaginal lubrication is that it is natural and therapeutic.  The olive oil is a great natural lubricant and the bee propolis contains the anti-bacterial effects that normal vaginal fluid provides prior to menopause.  With repeated use, BOOM Touch decreases vaginal irritation and inflammation while providing lubrication.  Gynecologists recommend BOOM Touch, so I highly suggest checking with yours to see if he/she has heard of it.

This product includes the same pure ingredients as BOOM Silk, with less honey!  It will eliminate any concern for those prone to vaginal yeast infections and it’s safe for women of every age.

Ingredients:   Purified water, organic extra virgin olive oil, beeswax with propolis and pollen.  No extra packaging. No animal testing. No parabens or phthalates.

I know it’s a lot of information to soak up here and some of this stuff may be a bit TMI for your liking.  But, we all know I like to keep it 100 here – so I wanted to share this with all of you too.  This product is not sticky and provides long lasting lubrication.  I do not like to use it often, but when I need to have a little more lubrication down (well, you know where), this product works for me.

“It’s about women, it’s about beauty, it’s about time!”

BOOM Mask (2 oz. – $42.00 / 4 oz. – $56.00) is a deep penetrating facial mask that will nourish and heal your skin while naturally and gently pulling impurities from your pores.  This mask is a rejuvenating, cleansing, and nurturing facial mask made from all natural and organic ingredients.  There are no man made chemicals, fillers, Sodium Laurel Sulfate, parabens, pthalates or fragrances.  BOOM Mask is handmade by the bee keepers on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii.  They use raw Hawaiian wildflower honey, organic diatomaceous earth, French pink clay, Hawaiian blue green algae, royal jelly and propolis.

Ingredients:  Propolis: A natural antiseptic which eliminates unhealthy bacteria. It’s nutritive value also feeds and nourishes your skin leaving it beautiful, radiant, and healthy.  Honey: A natural antibiotic which also hydrates the skin.  Diatomaceous Earth: Gently exfoliates, removing dead skin cells which smooths and tones your skin.  French Pink Clay: Detoxifies and cleanses the skin.  Hawaiian Blue Green Algae: Enhances skin elasticity.  Royal Jelly: Nourishes your skin with vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

I honestly wasn’t sure that I would like the mask when I first tried it.  But, I love a mask that I can apply a light layer onto my skin and it does the job.  I didn’t have any sensitivities or flare ups and my skin felt smooth, looked bright and felt clean but moisturized.  I definitely think this mask is nice and worth checking out.  The color is a tad bit off-putting, I’m used to green, gray or black masks, but it’s still fun – I think of it as chocolate for the face.

BOOM Glo (left), BOOM Glimmer (middle), BOOM Color (right)

The BOOMStick Trio (Glo, Glimmer and Color – $76.00, 8 grams each tube) is a fun little collection of cream treats for your skin.  These three creams are all you need to give your skin that dewy, radiant, colorful look of joy.  It’s literally a whole cosmetic bag in just three easy to use sticks.  Use these for lipstick, eye shadow, skin  luster, highlighter and moisturizer for the eyes, face, lips, cuticles and more.  These colors are formulated to blend perfectly with every skin tone.  This set is a great value and makes a great gift. If purchased separately – you will pay $81.00 vs the cost of $76.00 for the trio.

These sticks are little multi-taskers for the cosmetic bag.  I love the BOOM Glo for use as a cuticle moisturizer or used on the lips.  The BOOM Glimmer makes a really pretty soft and natural highlight and BOOM Color blends out gorgeously to add a natural flush of color on your skin.  Each product leaves your skin looking naturally flushed and pretty and it’s the perfect trio for busy women who want a little color and pretty without putting on a lot of makeup.  These can be used all over the body, including your lips and eyes, so I make sure to use a makeup brush when applying to different areas or clean fingers so that I’m not contaminating the tube.

Also, don’t let the BOOM Color fool you.  While it does have a rich burgundy look to it, it blends out to create the perfect shadow look and flushed color for any skin tone.  Apply as much or as little as you need to create the look you desire.

Cindy Joseph worked as a professional make up artist for over 27 years and she has learned the skin on our bodies is the same from the top of our head to the tip of our toes. To protect, nourish, and moisturize your whole body, all you need is one product, as long as it’s safe and does the job.

I love cosmetics, I love makeup and all the colors they offer and every single thing in between… but I’m a believer that while I do enjoy the pretty and sparkly things – I love natural beauty on me as well.  Society dictates beauty on many levels and many times it’s superficial.  With teenage girls dealing with their own personal issues of self esteem and women in society struggling to find their groove, I love that a cosmetic and product line offer products like these to enhance what is already gorgeous and natural beauty.

skin care, women, ageless women, Boom! by Cindy Joseph, Cindy Joseph, BOOM!, beauty, anti-aging, highlight, contour, blush, eye shadow, moisturizer, body moisturizer, face moisturizer, lubricant, honey, anti-aging skin care,

This line initially was designed for the Baby Boomers (ages over 45), but I think it would be a wonderful line for anyone who loves great and simple skin care or products.  I love how easy each product is to use and the price point is reasonable.  When you think about your cosmetic or makeup routine, skin care routine or just your every day life, could you use a little simplistic approach to things.  Like I said before, I love the pretty things that the makeup industry offers, but as we get older, less is more sometimes and since I’m 36, I’m always looking for preventative products as well as great ones to help me on my journey.  I love looking natural and these are definitely products I think I’ll enjoy for years to come.  I love BOOM! products so much I’m picking up a few sets for my loved ones, my mom and mother in law will surely enjoy them and so will other friends and family members.  These will make great gifts for sure.

Have you heard of or tried anything from BOOM! by Cindy Joseph?  If so, what are your thoughts?  If not, is this something you will check out.
