Have you heard of Mukama Botanica? I love trying products that come from businesses here in Hawaii and I’m excited to share this brand with you. If you’ve been a long time follower of this blog, you may have seen a variety of skincare products from brands that were started right here in the islands. Today, I’m ecstatic to share with you this new to me company – Mukama Botanica. And, their High Vibe Face Mist.
High Vibe Face Mist
I’m all about a great face mist, especially when it has ingredients that will help to heal and balance out my sensitive skin. This face mist has become my go-to in my skincare regimen over the last few weeks. I love its lightweight feel on my face and fresh scent. If you are a lover of rose tonics or rose water but don’t like the strong fragrance that it can have, this is the mist for you. Lightly scented and perfect for year-round. I’ve been using it daily to combat my dry skin. It has also been a savior to help me feel pampered while going through this pandemic lockdown. I tend to gravitate towards products that are lightweight and this mist is IT!
Did I mention how gorgeous the packaging is? Totally luxurious and such a pretty addition to any vanity.
High Vibe Face Mist retails for $55.00 (4.05 fl oz / 120 mL) and is a facial mist that boosts your skin and mood. This mist is a pH-balanced potion that is formulated with high vibe ingredients and aromatics inspired by sacred Hawaiian plant healing. I love that it is perfect for all skin types and my sensitive skin LOVED this product. It’s created with 100% natural and organic ingredients and handmade in the USA.
Using the High Vibe Face Mist is as easy as pressing the spray button. Simply mist your face a few times after cleansing and rub the product into the skin prior to using your moisturizer. You can also use it as a refresher during the day. You want to make sure that you shake the bottle before using it and store it at room temperature. Keep it out of direct sunlight.
Is it worth the price?
I know what you’re thinking… and I know you’re going to ask me this question, so I figured I’d answer it for you. At the $55 cost, is this facial mist worth the price tag? Well, I’ve been using this mist daily for about a month now and using it generously I might add. I still have most of the bottle left considering how much I’ve utilized so far. The mist is fine so it will cover a broad area. That’s what I like about it. I think this mist will last quite a while even with daily use. Considering there are so many luxury skincare products on the market today – yes, I think this is definitely worth the price tag. You are not just getting a product, but a mission and key ingredients that are so beneficial to your skin.

Mukama Botanica’s two best-selling products include their multi-purpose Skin Superfood Serum (which I can’t wait to get my hands on) and their High Vibe Face Mist (pH-balanced toner/face mist). Both products have been covered in the January, February and March 2020 issues of Vogue.

Overall – I’m definitely impressed and loving my Mukama Botanic High Vibe Face Mist. It has been the one product in my skincare regimen over the last month that I’ve used consistently. Being on lock-down due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, I’m constantly wanting some consistency in my life. This facial mist has been my place of zen for pampering during a time when it’s not really feasible. It’s rare for me to say “Go out and pick one up for yourself…” but in this instance, I say – “Do It!”

Because plastic surgery, in general, has become less stigmatized, I decided I wanted to learn more about it, so I did a little research on breast augmentation. What I found out is that breast augmentation is the top cosmetic procedure in the United States with over 300,000 surgeries performed in 2017 alone. From young 20-somethings to women in their 60s, and even 70s, breast enhancement is in high demand. I also found out that surgical techniques have advanced tremendously since early breast augmentations, so women can now enjoy better safety and better results.
Consultation
Another important thing I discovered is that no 2 breast surgeries are alike. Which means, your surgery should be individualized to fit your needs. Before surgery, you’ll have a consultation with your surgeon, and the 2 of you will discuss your desired results, personal anatomy, and your lifestyle. These are all things the surgeon needs to know before the surgery and to help with deciding on what size implant to get. Once the surgeon knows all this important information, he or she will create a customized surgical plan based on your conversation.
Make sure to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who has years of experience performing breast augmentations. Plastic surgery is not something to be taken lightly—you want the very best for your body.
Implant Type
I found out that choosing an implant is more than just picking a cup size; you must also consider shape, material, and profile. Implants can be either round or teardrop shaped. Round implants provide more cleavage and a “fuller” look, while teardrop implants more closely resemble the slope of natural breasts. Implants can be filled with a saline solution or silicone gel depending on your preference. The “gummy bear,” highly cohesive gel implants have become very popular because to many people they feel more like natural breast tissue. You need to also think about what profile you want. In this case, “profile” refers to how much your implants stick out from your chest. Different implants will give you a different profile.
Incision Placement
Like so many things these days, you have a lot of options when it comes to what type of incision is used for placing the implants. Your surgeon will help you choose one that is right for you. Options include:
Transaxillary. In this procedure, the surgeon makes the incisions in the natural crease of the armpit, so no scar is visible on the breast. Also, breast and nipple sensation is preserved.
Inframammary. This option makes incisions in the fold under the breast. This type of incision is good for silicone implants but may have an impact on breastfeeding. If you plan on having children and breastfeeding in the future, be sure to tell your surgeon because that might affect what implant placement is best for you.
Periareolar. In this option, the incisions are made along the edge of the areola. The scar is less noticeable than inframammary incisions but may result in nipple numbness.
Perithelial. This is an approach that makes the incisions beside the nipple and within the areola. Like periareolar incisions, these incisions are less noticeable than inframammary incisions, but they can cause numbness in the nipples.
Implant Placement
Once the incision is made, your surgeon will create a small pocket for the implant. This pocket can be made on top of or below the chest muscle. Doctors typically recommend below the muscle placement for women who have little existing breast tissue. This will provide more coverage, so the implants feel more natural.
Keller Funnel®
The Keller Funnel is an innovative new tool to safely that precisely inserts your implants. Board-certified surgeon Dr. Shim Ching uses the Keller Funnel in his plastic surgery center in Honolulu. According to Dr. Ching, the Keller Funnel reduces the risk of infection, allows for a smaller incision, and is gentler than traditional insertion methods.
During the consultation, ask if your surgeon uses the Keller Funnel!
Recovery
With any surgery, you want to know about how long it will take to recover. What I found out is that breast augmentation recovery has improved greatly over the years, and your surgeon can give you information on how much time you’ll need. But regardless of the recovery time, it is important to carefully follow your surgeon’s post-op instructions. Typically, they will provide a specific timeline and list of tips for your recovery period. Some of these tips include:
Clearing your schedule—give yourself time to relax in those first few days post-op
Asking a friend or family member to drive you home from surgery
Choosing button-up shirts that don’t require raising your arms
Keeping everything that you’ll need close by, so you won’t have to constantly stand up
If you are interested in breast enhancement, do some more research about it and book a few consultations to meet with reputable plastic surgeons. Don’t rush into anything—wait until you’re 100% ready! You should be doing this for you and NOBODY else.

About two months ago I was introduced to Emme Diane by a fellow beauty blogger named Jen (MyBeautyBunny). She raved about how great the Emme Diane Tinted…
Skincare is such an individual thing for most people. What might work for some, may not work for others and sometimes products that are expensive or affordable…
Today I’m excited to finally bring you my thoughts on a few skin care products from ZenMed. I have had these products in my possession now for about 2 months (or more) and I am happy to say that I can finally discuss my results with all of you.
As many of you know, I have started to really live my life differently. Daily workouts and exercise and cutting out things like rice and soda from my diet (eating healthier in general) have been a part of my norm the last two months. Because of this, trying out new skin care has been a huge challenge. As your body starts to really purge the junk stuff from your system, sometimes your skin can get really good quickly or completely freak out. For me, it freaked out and really went bonkers with some of my skin care products. So, it took longer to try out products that I would normally be able to experience results with within a month or so. That’s why it took me so long to get this post up – I wanted to make sure it was not the product that caused my eczema flare up.
With that being said – let’s talk about ZenMed. ZenMed offers a plethora of products that they call: Reconstructive Skincare. It’s basically a product line that offers support to your skin. They claim that you can get healthier skin when following their pH balanced cleansing and moisturizing regime. I had the opportunity to try four different products from the line and I’m going to share my thoughts on each of them with you.
The Gentle Cleansing Cream is a light cleansing cream that feels really nice on the skin when applying. You apply this product to your wet face using circular motions. Once done, rinse it off with warm water and pat your skin dry. This cleanser is gentle enough to be used on your skin twice a day – though I only use it once a day at night. This cleanser removes impurities from your skin and leaves your face feeling refreshed. No irritations or over-drying which is great for my sensitive skin. This product is vegetarian formulated so that it leaves your skin clean without stripping it of your vital oils. The formulation is pH balanced and preserves your natural pH so your skin is left feeling soothed and nourished. ZenMed states that this is a product that is ideal for Rosacea sufferers. I love how soft my skin feels but it is left hydrated and clean when I’m done cleansing with this product.
Retail: $22
ZenMed’s Anti-Redness Mask is next on the list. This is a pretty cool product because ZenMed says that this is ideal for minimizing the after-effects of a sunburn since it contains Certified Organic Aloe Vera Gel. The Anti-Redness mask has a very effective anti-inflammatory agent included called Willow Bark Extract. The ingredient has long been know to provide anti-irritant and anti-redness effects to sensitive skin. It’s soothing and non-comedogenic using Green Tea and Cucumber to offer a quick solution for getting redness out of the skin and fast. This product can even be used on sensitive areas like eyelids to help calm the skin.
I have been enjoying all of the products I’ve tried, but the Anti-Redness Mask still intrigues me. When you use it, your skin feels immediately cooled and calm. I find that this is one of my favorites for soothing my dry skin from the colder months. I noticed that the redness around my nose and on my cheeks are not there as much as they normally would be.
Retail: $29.95
Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 30 – Well, I honestly wasn’t sure if I would like this product once I squeezed it out of the tube. Here’s the deal, when something says “lightweight and sheer formula”, I kind of expect it to be as such. But squeezing it out of the tube, it seemed to be a bit thick. But, I was relieved when it smoothed onto my skin quickly and felt like it was lightweight on. Looks can be deceiving (that’s for sure). This product is lightweight and sheer on the face. It’s oil-free with an SPF of 30 which is awesome, but it does leave your skin looking a bit dewy. But, that didn’t bother me one bit, since I really liked that it was gentle on my skin and super easy to apply. This cream absorbs quickly which I love so it’s also recommended for use under concealers or foundations (which I don’t really use). I love that I can use it on its own. I LOVE that it has sunscreen in it so it’s great for days like today when I need to run out of the house.
Like other products I’ve tried from ZenMed, this moisturizer has Green Tea and Certified Organic Aloe Vera which helps to calm the skin and moisturize.
Retail: $24.95
For those interested in the type of sunscreen formulated into this product – here are the Active Ingredients: Avobenzone 1.5%, Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 5%, Oxybenzone 5.5%., Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Octyl Palmitate, Green Tea Extract, Certified Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Methyl Gluceth-20, C15-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetyl Phosphate, Vitamins A, B5, D, & E, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Allantoin, TEA-Carbomer, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin
The Organic Cream Exfoliator is free of parabens, abrasive particles, soap, oil and animal testing. This product was formulated and created to help oxygenate and revive the most sensitive skin types. This exfoliator utilizes rounded jojoba microspheres that work to help scrub and get rid of the surface of dead skin cell build-up while allowing for maximum penetration of your skin serums and moisturizers. It helps to visibly smooth and refine your skin’s texture.
I am very picky about the type of exfoliators I use and I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this one. The product is very creamy based but as you work it onto the skin, the jojoba microspheres massage and exfoliate the skin. This product can be used daily, though I only use it on my face once a week because while it’s gentle, I think it’s too much for me to use more than that. After the first use, I noticed my skin was definitely softer and smoother and I noticed a big difference in the texture of my skin after using it the last month.
Retail: $34
Overall, I continue to use the ZenMed products I was sent to try as a part of my skincare regimen. I use it in combination with other products from other brands that I love and enjoy. The Skin Support products for Dry Skin have been a great addition to my skincare routine and while they aren’t particularly drugstore priced, they are reasonable in cost and fairly affordable in comparison to other products I’ve tried before.
I’m not quite sure yet if I will be continuing the use of these products once I run out of my current stash, but I definitely have some favorites. The Anti-Redness Mask and Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 30 have been some of my go-tos lately, so I may continue using them. I also hope to purchase the Support Serum and Nutrient Boost Spray to try out for myself, so if I do – I’ll be sure to share my thoughts with all of you.
Have you heard of ZenMed before? If so, comment below and tell me what you think. If not, are there any products I’ve tried that you may be interested in?

This post is sponsored by PMD via the PRIMP Network. All opinions are my own.
When it comes to skincare products and gadgets, I’m always super duper excited to try them and share my thoughts with you. If you’ve been a long time follower of my original YouTube channel, you may have watched videos where I have raved about my first PMD device (about 8 to 10 years ago). Since it’s been a few years since I’ve used the PMD Personal Microderm, I was extremely excited to get the opportunity to share my thoughts with all of you once again. Microdermabrasion in the comforts of your own home? I say… YES! I was given the chance to try out the PMD and I can’t wait to share my results with all of you.
So, this will be a two-part sponsored post. For today, I’ll be sharing my first impressions (well sort of, since I’ve used this before) and the details on the product itself. I’ll also be sharing my before photo. In the second post, you’ll get my experience after using the product for a month.
I’ve used this particular device twice already (prior to writing this for you) so I’m excited to share my results with you in about 30 days or so.
Let’s talk about what Microdermabrasion. What is Microdermabrasion? Basically, Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells. Once the process is done, you reveal younger, healthier-looking skin. The PMD Personal Microderm is an at-home skincare tool that provides the same brilliant results as a professional, in-office treatment, but without the price tag. The PMD combines a Patented Spinning Disc technology with Perfectly Calibrated Vacuum Suction to leave the skin looking fresh and radiant. The claim is that you can see results after your 1st session and maximum results will be seen after 8-12 weekly sessions.
PMD’s patented spinning discs are embedded with aluminum oxide crystals that exfoliate the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. The calibrated vacuum suction works by increasing circulation and triggering the skin’s natural healing process, which helps to boost collagen and elastin. After the entire process of treating your skin with PMD, your skin is left feeling firmer, looking fresh and radiant and basically glowing.
Want to try PMD for yourself? Use code: PRIMP20 and get 20% off. (Excludes subscriptions and sale items) The PMD retails for $159 and the replacement heads are $20.
The Classic PMD utilizes one speed and comes with classic caps for the face and body. The treatment takes just 3 minutes to do and one treatment each week is all that is needed. I definitely recommend watching the video tutorial on how to use the device prior to using it for the first time.
Cleanse and dry your skin thoroughly
Start with the training disc (white disc). Practice on your leg or arm before using it on your face
Pull the skin tight to help the device to glide smoothly over the skin
Do not apply any pressure and do not stop or remain in one area. Move the device quickly across the skin in an upward motion.
Make sure you only do one pass per area
Following treatment, apply toner and moisturizer
Wash the cap and filter after each use.
There are different levels of discs and colors for each level so you know the intensity you are applying to your skin.
White Disc – Ultra Sensitive (training disc)
Grey Disc – Very Sensitive
Blue Disc – Sensitive
Green Disc – Moderate
Each disc will last 3-4 uses and most treatments last about three to five minutes. Everyone’s skin is different and some sensitive skin types may never need to increase their exfoliation level by moving to a different disc color. Some may have more coarse skin and may need to move to a higher disc level. Ultimately, the disc color used depends on your treatment goals and skin sensitivity overall. There are other discs available on the PMD website that can be used for Body, etc. You can check those out here.
It’s been a few years since I’ve used a PMD on my face. I stopped using it because my original device went missing. But, I’ve already started using this cute pink one now and have had two treatments. I’ve included my “before” photo below. This photo was taken prior to any treatments using this PMD unit.
As you can see from the photo above, I have uneven skin tone, discoloration in certain areas and a bit of scarring from old acne breakouts. I’m 37 years old and while I don’t have many wrinkles, my PCOS has contributed to taken a toll on my skin the last year. I’m excited to share with all of you my after photos in mid-November.
Definitely, check out PMD’s FAQs and get a look at some of the before and after photos on their website. I have been a huge fan of PMD over the years and it’s great to see that this company has continued to help many people with their skin issues. I’m excited to share my results with all of you!
Can’t wait to see my results? Want to try PMD for yourself and join in on this journey with me?

As a child growing up in the 80s and 90s, Suzanne Somers was kind of a household name. A popular figure in infomercials and television shows, we knew the name and the face all too well. I still remember the first time my mom bought her first Thigh Master and it was a product she enjoyed tremendously. Till this day, my mom has purchased several and still has one in her possession. Between a fruitful career and various skill levels, she’s definitely an icon. This gorgeous being (who happens to be 70 years old and looks incredible) started her own cosmetics line called Suzanne Organics. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2001 and beat it, but that also gave her the inspiration to create this gorgeous line of All Natural Makeup and Skin Care called Suzanne Organics.
I had the opportunity to try several products from the line and if I had to sum up my thoughts on all of them in one word, I would use – Awesome! As many of you know, my PCOS has been flaring up tremendously, so I’ve been trying to find products that not only work well with my skin issues but also don’t cause me to break out more. I’ve been impressed so far with everything I’ve tried. Let’s chit chat about each one I’ve used.
I wanted to make sure I selected a wide range of products and a skin care item I think is absolutely essential to me is body lotion. I have extremely dry skin that is also Eczema prone so I really wanted to give the Suzanne Organics Nourishing Body Lotion a try. The lotion comes sealed with a cap but it came with a pump which I was excited for. This lotion has become a favorite, leaving my skin silky smooth without the greasy feeling you can get from other products. It left my skin feeling soft the entire day and I’ve been using it daily since first getting my hands on it. As the first product I tried, I definitely was impressed right from the get-go.
Suzanne Organics has a great selection of anti-aging and skin care products. I also picked out the Suzanne Organics Anti-Aging Eye Cream because a great eye cream is something I can’t get enough of. This eye cream is their Top-Rated, organic and all natural anti-aging cream that is packed with some of the most rare, expensive and targeted ingredients like Swiss apple stem cells and sea algae extracts. The first time I used this product I was quite amazed. I don’t think I have a lot of problems with my under eye area but lately, I’ve been looking tired and this product helped to reduce my dark under-eye circles while also brightening the under eye area. My minor crows feet wrinkles seemed less prominent and overall my eye area appeared more youthful with use.
Suzanne Organics Liquid Oxygen Therapy Facial Serum is an elixir that soothes the facial skin and helps reverse the signs of aging. This product is basically like an expensive Oxygen Facial Treatment in a bottle. It hydrates the skin while revitalizing and rejuvenating. This serum helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and combats free radicals from environmental stress. All of this while promoting clear, smooth, healthy-looking skin and soothing my irritated and sensitive skin. They key ingredient is suspended oxygen (Perfluorordecalin) which bathes oxygen on the skin and helps to promote clear skin. I’m really enjoying this product. It’s completely lightweight which I love and soaks into the skin, without a sticky icky residue left behind and leaves my skin feeling moisturized all day long and soothes my dry skin.
Suzanne Organics Sheer Flawless Foundation was a product I just had to try. I got it in the color Medium Honey. Since I have been dealing with a vast amount of breakouts the last few months due to my PCOS, I thought giving this product a whirl would be great to put to the test. While most foundations coat the skin with a variety of dyes and fragrances, this tint uses nourishing actives and rich minerals with superior blending capabilities to color-match a range of skin tones. Made without PEGs, parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. This product uses no plastic or petroleum fillers and is gluten free. I was amazed to find out that it is made with organic botanical actives like soothing Aloe Leaf Juice, Tea Tree, Jojoba and Grape Seed Oils for a flawless skin with a smooth, velvet touch. Filled with antioxidant-rich super juice blend of pomegranate, goji, acai, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and more.
I applied the foundation using a damp beauty sponge. The application was easy and while the foundation looked a little on the pink side prior to application, I was impressed in how well it blended with my skin tone. This foundation is very lightweight and definitely sheer as it’s name suggests, but I found it to be build-able, which is perfect for me. Since I haven’t really used foundation in a few years, I truly enjoyed that I could decide whether I would go light or build up on my coverage when I wanted to. I didn’t experience any oxidation while using this foundation which great and on average I found it lasted for most of my day through the hot Hawaii weather. I set this foundation with the Suzanne Organics Sheer Pressed Powder in Medium/Dark and it helped to add additional coverage while keeping my makeup in place all day. I find that this pressed powder is great for setting but a tad bit too light for all over coverage and for me to use in place of the liquid foundation, but it is nice and I enjoy using it.
It’s lightweight, smooth to the touch and silky, but I like that it applies easily without the extra work.
For additional coverage, I use the Suzanne Organics Perfect Finish Concealer. It’s a creamy concealer in a mini compact (with a mirror) and is perfect for spot concealing and even brightening up the areas to even out the coverage of the foundation. I love how lightweight this product is and tapping with the tip of my finger to apply or using a small synthetic brush makes application a breeze. While this concealer is a creamy type product, it sets like powder and I like that I can use it beneath my foundation or above for added coverage without worrying about moving. All day wear is another benefit I like and I find that I can use this on its own when needed too.
I got to try some gorgeous eye shadows as well. The Suzanne Organics Eyeshadow Essential Neutrals Quad offers four gorgeous shades to create an everyday or glamourous look. This quad features the colors Ivory, Flesh, Cocoa and Charcoal. Using organic ingredients and no artificial dyes, plastic or petroleum fillers, you rest assured you have pigmented eye shadows for any show stopping look.
I found that the texture of these shadows is quite different than I’m used to. While they are all very pigmented, they have a drier feel than the buttery shadows I’m accustomed to from other brands. Does this mean this is bad? No of course not. The drier texture and feel of these actually mean they have better longevity and performance on my eyelids and I find that the apply and blend quite easily. Over a primer, these shadows last all day. You can use them to apply a quick wash of color on the lids or build up the shades for an intense and dramatic look. I also find that since the formula of these shadows are drier than I’m used to, the darker shades apply wonderfully as a liner to the lids and lower lash line.
I also tried the Suzanne Organics Lengthening Mascara. This organic mascara has a pointed style tip to allow me to define each lash. I love the brush on this mascara because it allows me to apply the product to each of my little lashes. This mascara has held up on my lashes without much or any smudging, but I do notice that when my eyes tear up – it will run. It is a gorgeous black and really helps to define and somewhat lengthen each of my lashes for a pretty look. Like all of the products from Suzanne Organics, this is without all the funky things you can get in other cosmetic products.
Lastly, the Suzanne Organics Multiple Stick in Sunrise has been such a treat. I wanted to make sure I had a blush or lip color from the brand but found that if I picked up the All-In-One Makeup Stick, I’d have a plethora of options. This product can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips and adds a perfect highlight and color to the areas you need it.
In my easy makeup look above, I’ve utilized all of the Suzanne Organics Cosmetic products to create what you see. From foundation and concealer, setting powder and eye shadow, everything I used was from the Suzanne line. This line is perfect for day or night and simplistic to create. I also used the black color in the eye shadow quad as liner for the look and finished it all off with the multi-stick on my lips for a little color and my cheeks for some highlight.
Overall – I am loving this line. I’m not a fan of foundations but found that I’m really enjoying this one. I also love the performance of the products overall. As mentioned previously, Suzanne Organics products are free of all dangerous toxins that other cosmetics use. You get only healthy ingredients that your skin can absorb and the products are manufactured with certified organic ingredients. No plastic or petroleum fillers and the formulations are made without parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. The products are completely Gluten Free and of course, no animal testing is done.
Makeup and skin care are just a small part of what Suzanne Organics offers. You can get facial oils and deodorants as well as a variety of things listed on the site.
