A few months ago I was contacted by Alter Ego and asked if I wanted to take a test drive of their new (soon to be released) Temptress Palette. I have never heard of the brand before and I was absolutely intrigued, since the palette was said to be a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette. Since then, I have been using the palette and trying it out. Today, I’m going to be sharing with you my thoughts and swatches of the Alter Ego Temptress Palette. Do I like it? You’ll have to read on to see!
About The Alter Ego Temptress Palette
The Alter Ego Temptress Palette retails for $16.00. It comes with 14 gorgeously pigmented shades. I also got two brushes, a large shader brush and a blender brush. The Temptress palette launched in January of this year and is pretty much a perfect dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette. I don’t have the Sultry palette to compare for you, but after looking at it in person and comparing with my Temptress palette, I’m absolutely swooning over the similarities and quality.
The Temptress Palette features a mix of matte and metallic shades in a range of nude, golden and bronze type tones. The palette is Cruelty-free and paraben-free. It’s made in the PRC but is distributed and sold in the United States. The palette is a total steal for the quality and awesomeness you receive.
Talc, Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Magnesium Stearate, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Silica, Kaolin, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tin Oxide, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethyhexylglycerin. +/- May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Bronze Powder (CI 77400), Aluminum Powder (CI 77000), Iron Oxide Red (CI 77491), Iron Oxide Yellow (CI 77492), Iron Oxide Black (CI 77499), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Black 2 (CI 77266), Carmine (CI 75470), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).
My Overall Thoughts
The shades are very pigmented. But, what I love about them is that they are not powdery like you’d expect from a cheaper, more affordable palette. The shadows are creamy, but not so buttery that it makes a mess. I also love that there is minimal to little fallout from the shadows. I can grab for this palette on a daily and use it on my lids for a pop of color or an everyday look. I have been wanting to purchase the ABH Sultry Palette and missed when it was on sale, so I decided it wasn’t for me. But, having this palette in my hands, I am not missing the Sultry palette at all.
The perfect Every Day Palette for looks that are effortless and easy to create.
Watch the Video
I have been loving how great this palette blends on my mature eyelids. I’m just absolutely amazed with the quality of this product. I am also loving that Alter Ego has supreme customer service as they have been answering all my questions. I have already had several family members order this palette after I shared my thoughts with them. They are loving it as much as I am.
So, what about you? Do you think this would be a palette you’d be interested in checking out for yourself? I highly suggest trying it out. For the price point, it can’t be beat. And, you get a luxury and high-end product feel without the price point.

I’m so excited to share with you the Emily Edit Palettes, a collaboration between Makeup Revolution and EmilyNoel83, one of my favorite Beauty YouTubers.
Who is EmilyNoel83?
When I started doing YouTube videos 10+ years ago, I remember being one of the first 200 subscribers to EmilyNoel83. She was a news reporter named Emily Noel who had a bubbly personality. Emily filmed her videos in a small apartment with that “newscaster” flair and “girl next door” attitude, which I love. She offers honest and truthful reviews that are not sponsored. Her easy to follow makeup tutorials are for all levels of skill. Cupcake (that’s her cat) would steal the show and make appearances. Now, several years later, I’ve watched Emily have two beautiful little girls and build a channel that I value and respect.
Emily’s love for life, positivity and informative style is endearing and keeps her audience coming back for more.
Revolution Makeup, USA
Now, 10 years later, she’s collaborating with Makeup Revolution. I’m so excited to share this collab with all of you.
The Emily Edit – The Needs Palette
The Needs Emily Edit was designed to be a “greatest hits” of the brand. A full-face style palette that really offers a “multi-tasking” use for each shade. This beautiful palette is full of positivity, featuring Emily’s personal shade names that have a special color identity. Gorgeously cased in pale pink packaging with Emily’s signature in rose gold.
Shades included in The Needs:
Courage – a medium brown, bronzer and contour shade with a matte finish
Joy – peachy pink blush with a matte finish
Gratitude – a creamy highlight with a satin finish
Kindness – cream translucent powder with a matte finish (Emily likes to use it as an under-eye powder)
Honesty – blush peach, satin finish
Passion – dark brown, with a red shimmer
Peace – peachy nude, matte finish
Faith – warm brown, matte finish
Hope – fudge brown, matte finish
Love – cream shade with a matte finish
I’m over the moon in love with these shades and the palette in a whole. The Needs offers you the perfect travel palette because it has everything you need to create a look. Every powder in this palette is silky and creamy. Whether creating a smokey or neutral eye look, this palette has you covered. The perfect “everyday” palette.
Did I mention how large the mirror is? A large mirror (the size of the palette) makes this ideal for any makeup lover. The palette casing is sturdy and beautiful, offering it a lux look with great names. Also, I love opening this palette and looking at the shade names, it’s so inspiring.
The Emily Edit – The Wants Palette
Emily Edit The Wants palette has easily become one of my favorites in my eyeshadow collection. This gorgeous piece features 24 colors in a combination of matte, satin and shimmer shades. What I love the most about this palette is the universal color range and how it works well with all skin tones. But, I am absolutely crushing on the color selection as well.
The Wants palette is encased in a pale peach packaging with Emily’s signature in rose gold.
When you buy this palette, you may notice that each color is laid out in little quads that you can use together to create a cohesive look. However, the colors all work well together so there are a plethora of combinations you can use to create a gorgeous look.
While I’ve been enjoying all of the shades, (I’m trying not to discriminate) some of my favorites include: Oh Heavens!, Love Tons, Side Hustle, Grateful, Dues Paid, Family, Corduroy, Heartbeat, Top Story and Capricorn. Let’s be honest here, I should have just listed all the shades… haha, I struggled to choose.
Shades included in The Wants:
The Cream – white cream, matte finish
Midwest – light tan, matte finish
Oh Heavens! – beige cream, satin finish
Cupcake – peach, satin finish
Hobby – light brown, matte finish
Dues Paid – red brick, matte finish
LoveTons – plum, matte finish
Laughcry – blood orange, matte finish
Prayer – sepia brown, matte finish
Eve Rose – light lilac with a gold shift, satin finish
Pizzazz – maroon, matte finish
Grateful – lime green, shimmer finish
Belle Violet – lavender, shimmer finish
Family – deep purple, matte finish
Heartbeat – chestnut, shimmer finish
Good Vibes – Rich copper, shimmer finish
Capricorn – mocha brown, satin finish
Top Story – gold, shimmer finish
Corduroy – emerald green, matte finish
Side Hustle – khaki green with a gold shift, shimmer finish
Pi Phi – plum purple, matte finish
Apartment – wood brown, matte finish
Dark & Early – black, matte finish
** Note that these swatches are done directly on my hand without any primer or base. Many of these colors are applied to my skin in one swipe, so bare in mind that they can be built up to obtain a darker and richer shade. I am a medium skin tone.
“I wanted this palette to inspire but could also allow you to stay in your comfort zone. I wanted the perfect balance of light, medium and really rich dark shades. I want the colors to be buildable, so you can reach that level of intensity that you want. You can create countless looks and endless creativity.”
My Final Thoughts
It is not often that I run out and buy a makeup palette that is a collaboration with any particular YouTuber. But, as soon as I found out about this one, I knew I had to have it. RevolutionxEmily The Needs and The Wants Palettes are beautiful and created so well. I’ve mentioned the packaging previously, but I must reiterate that I really love how sturdy these palettes are. Let’s talk about the price point too. The Needs palette is just $15 and The Wants Palette is $20. It’s not only affordable for anyone to purchase, but it is also great quality for the price point.
Way to Go Emily!
Though haven’t been wearing much makeup lately, the moment that I picked these up, I’ve been using them daily. Both palettes have become favorites and I know I’ll be getting a ton of use out of them. Mirrored hardshell case and beautiful shades in creamy shadows, yes… this is a must-have for anyone of any age.
EmilyNoel83 is one of my favorite YouTubers (she’s even listed on my YouTube Favorites List), so I am so excited and proud of her and her accomplishments. These palettes are definitely Homeruns in my book and I’m loving them!

When it comes to beauty products, I think eye shadows and eye shadow palettes are definitely some of my favorite things. I just love looking at all the pretty colors and I definitely think palettes are my weakness when it comes to purchases. Recently I was introduced to Shop Hush (an app and website that sells Bad Habit Beauty products) and I just had to pick up this set up palettes to add to my collection. Today I introduce you to the Solstice and Supernova eye shadow palettes.
I picked up both the Bad Habit Solstice and Supernova palettes off of ShopHush for $24.00 (for both) about a month ago. I definitely wanted to share these palettes with my readers and followers because for the price point, they are seriously – LEGIT!
Let’s talk about the Bad Habit Solstice Palette first. The Solstice palette retails for $16.00 if purchased separately. It has a mix of mattes, shimmers and glittery shades in warm hues. It’s gorgeous and I love that it includes colors that I can wear on an everyday basis. I was beyond impressed with each shadow and loved how buttery most of the shades were and how packed they were with pigment.
Many say that the Solstice Palette from Bad Habit Beauty is a dupe for the Natasha Denona Sunset Palette which retails for $129. I don’t own the Natasha Denona Sunset palette so I couldn’t tell you if it indeed is a dupe, but I can say that for a $16 palette, it definitely impressed me.
Because the shades are definitely soft and buttery, you do get some kick up and some fall out, but it’s not difficult to work with and each shade builds up perfectly. I am loving this as my everyday palette and I’m enjoying it tremendously.
Next I am sharing with you the Supernova Palette. Retailing for $16 on it’s own, this palette offers a combination of shades that are much cooler toned than the Solstice palette. That’s one of the reasons why I ordered them as a pair, I thought it would be a great way to check out two different tones of shades for different looks.
As with the Solstice palette, the Supernova palette provides a combination of matte, shimmer and glittery shades. I find that while each shade is also buttery (like the Solstice), it is not as creamy as the Solstice palette. To explain, the Solstice palette is so creamy that when dipping your brush into shades like Dawn, Rays and Twilight, your brush literally makes a big indention. However, with Supernova, placing your brushes into this palette doesn’t leave it as messy but still picks up a lot of color and blendability is great.
The Bad Habit Supernova palette is said to be a dupe for the Natasha Denona Lila Palette which retails for $129. As I mentioned with the Solstice palette, I do not have the Lila palette so I personally cannot compare the two to see if they are indeed dupes, however – I can tell you that for $16 – it’s definitely worth checking out.
Just like the Solstice palette, the Supernova palette provides you with a lot of texture and colors to be able to create a variety of looks. I’ve been loving the brown shades in this palette as accent colors to a smoky eye look.
Overall, I am absolutely digging these two palettes from Bad Habit Beauty. I’m impressed with how easy the shades from each palette blend as well as how gorgeous each color is. The price point of each considering the quality and how good they are, well – that absolutely seals the deal for me. I’ve already referred several friends to buy these and because of these, I’ve purchased several more palettes from Bad Habit Beauty and Shop Hush.
Definitely download the ShopHush. app on your phone (android and iPhone) and get rewards for logging in each day as well as free shipping on your orders. I can’t wait to share with you all of the other palettes I’ve purchased from the site, so stay tuned for that.
Have you tried any of the palettes on ShopHush? Or, what about Bad Habit Beauty? Let me know your thoughts, for sure. Would you pick up a dupe to a highend palette at an affordable price?

I remember seeing the sneak peaks of the ColourPop She Palette in collaboration with Karrueche Tran and I absolutely knew I had to get my hands on it. First, let’s talk about my reasons why. Hello, look at the packaging of this gorgeous beauty. And, the color selection, my oh my, this palette literally had me at Hello… seriously, can you hear Lionel Richie whispering…??? “Hello, is it me you’re looking for?” YAAAASSSSS… take my money NOW. haha! All kidding aside, the moment I seen sneak peaks of this palette, I knew I had to have it and the FEM ROSA name for the collection sold me more because Rosa is my middle name. So, when it was first released, I hopped on the website and placed my order. I have had in my possession now for quite a while and I’ve been busy playing with it and having an absolute ball. So today, I’m sharing my thoughts and photos of this gorgeous palette with all of you. I also picked up the Her Cheek Palette which I’ll be sharing a bit about as well.
So, the ColourPop SHE palette has been sold out and released a few times since its initial launch. I honestly can imagine why… seeing as it’s become one of my favorites since I got my hands on it a few weeks back. If you are a fan of rosey hues like myself, you’ll definitely enjoy this. I got a free lippy since I purchased over a certain amount and it’s a gorgeous metallic shade as well. But, anyway – let’s talk SHE Palette, shall we? The packaging on this beauty is what absolutely won me over. I have a small selection of favorite florals and roses are definitely one of them. Also, if you know anything about me, purple is my favorite color, so I was won over by the packaging and shade selection alone. Retailing for just $16.00, ColourPop’s SHE Palette is a total steal.
You get a selection of gorgeous and butter mauve tones and metallic finishes, matte and satin as well. These shades are absolutely perfect for Fall or year round. Twelve very pigmented colors to wow anyone and again, for the price point, it’s an absolute steal.
1st – Top Row: Left to Right – Ladylike (metallic soft ivory), Babe (satin light peachy pink), Dainty (metallic pinky taupe), Chick ((metallic subtle gold).
2nd – Middle Row: Mademoiselle (metallic rose gold), Gal (metallic red with copper duochrome), Empress (metalliic mid-tone pink plum), Filly (metallic rusty orange)
3rd – Last Row: Dear (matte warm rose), Missy (matte deep burgundy), Damsel (matte smokey violet), Duchess (matte dusty coral).
I honestly think that ColourPop hit this out of the park, because I love the colors included in this palette, the pigmentation, the feel of each of the shadows and of course the packaging. It’s gorgeous and it has been one of my favorite palettes since I got my hands on it.
You get a selection of metallic, matte and satin shades to create gorgeous looks and each shade is complimentary of one another so you have a wide selection of colors to create something awesome. You get 0.85 g worth of product in each shadow (0.03 oz) so for the price point, you really get a great deal. I often find that matte shades can be a difficult formulation for many to create, but these truly are a breeze to work with. Velvety soft and easy to blend for a show stopping look.
I’m using various shades in the SHE Palette to create the look you see here, as well as the free lippy I got from my order, in: Ultra Glossy Lip in Polished. Polished is a gorgeous shade and I applied it all over my lips and then blotted to create a soft muted lip instead of something shiny.
I also wanted to share the ColourPop HER Palette with all of you as well (since they are a part of the same collection). This pressed powder cheek palette includes three shades for a full effect look. A warm dewy glow, flushed pink cheeks and a natural bronze. Honestly, I just got it for the packaging, but I’ve been enjoying the shades and the blush and highlight have been fun to wear as well. I think the matte bronzer is just a tad bit too warm for me, but it works well for use as a transition shade on my eyes and it does work nicely, pigmented and blendable.
This palette retails for $15.00 and you get a pressed powder highlighter in a light gold shade (perfect for deeper skin tones) that has a pearlized finish (net weight 3.85g / 0.14 oz.). A pressed powder blush that has great pigmentation and applies nicely to my cheeks. It’s a pink shade that is a matte finish (net weight 4.35g / 0.15 oz). You also get a pressed powder bronzer that is in a matte finish (net weight 4.0g / 0.14 oz).
As I mentioned previously, I actually was intrigued and inspired to purchase these beauties because of the packaging and the name: “Fem Rosa”. But, after getting my hands on the palettes, I’ve been absolutely loving them. The highlighter shade in the cheek palette is a tad bit too dark for my skin-tone, but it works well with a light hand and it would be beautiful on deeper skin toned beauties. I felt the bronzer is a bit on the warmer side than I would like, but I’ve been getting use out of it nonetheless. The eye shadows, well – they are gorgeous and I’m loving them. They are beautiful “honey” shades and very pigmented. Some of them do kick up a bit of dust so I have to make sure to tap off my brush so that I can really get the payoff I desire. And, of course, the lippy. Not a color I would normally wear but I’ve been enjoying it and it will be wonderful for fall.
The SHE palette is currently out of stock on ColourPop’s website, and the lippy I received free as a part of my order is not available for purchase (that I know of), but the HER palette is definitely for sale and you can check it out for yourself here. Be sure to check out ColourPop on IG so you can get all the deets on when the SHE Palette becomes available for purchase once again.
So what about you, did you get your hands on ColourPop’s SHE Palette, in collaboration with Karrueche Tran? If so, what do you think about it and if not, do you plan to snatch it up the next time it’s available?

I honestly think that I’ve been neglecting many of the brands that I have in my makeup collection and supplementing them for my Pixi Beauty favorites. Since Summer time is the time where I use minimal makeup, I’ve found that these gorgeous beauties have been my go to for lips and cheeks. Today I introduce to you some products that have been my absolute summer favorites and they all hail from Pixi. Let’s chit chat about them, shall we?
The Pixi Beauty GelTint and SilkGlosses have become one of my staples for summer looks this season. With gorgeous shades that offer me the perfect look for the warmer months and longevity that I need without the fuss of a liquid lipstick. If you are looking for that sunkissed and beachy vibe, I think you’ll absolutely love these as much as I do. There are three shades available in this collection and each one retails for $12.00. These beauties are dual-ended and come with a Gel lip tint (that leaves your lips with a wearable but gorgeous stain) and a gloss to top the look off. You can use either product on its own or together to complete your look.
My favorite combination of lippies has been to layer BerryTint and PinkTint to create a gorgeous pink lip and finish the look off with Sweet Gloss.
Swatches from Left to Right – BeachTint & FreshGloss, BerryTint & SweetGloss, PinkTint and PrettyGloss
These GelTints & SilkGlosses make a great combination and feel absolutely wonderful on the lips. I love that they are lightweight but offer great color, even if my lips are dark. They give you a long-lasting lip tint that has a great stained effect and I love that my lips still hold their moisture and do not dry out. Each product is hydrating and none of them are sticky at all. If you’re someone who enjoys a minimal makeup look, I think you’ll love these.
Just a quick note, while they are long lasting, they do fade through out the day and with eating or drinking, you may need to reapply. These lippies do, however, reapply easily without little effort and without issues of weird casts or dry patches which make it wonderful to take on the go with you. Toss these in your beach bag for an all day look and you’re good to go.
The Pixi Beauty Sheer Cheek Gels are another hit in my book. Retailing for $14.00, these Sheer Cheek Gels are available in three gorgeous and universally flattering shades. I love a great blush but since Hawaii tends to be hot and often humid during the summer, my cheeks don’t get as much love as they do in the winter time. These sheer gel blushes create a gorgeous but natural looking flush of color to your cheeks to brighten and beautify your complexion in an instant. They are long lasting and perfect for those days you want a little color to your cheekies without the heavy powder or cream products that you would normally wear. They have been my absolute go-to this summer.
Swatches from left to right – Flushed, Natural, Rosy
These gels are translucent (as you can see from the swatches) and sheer so they offer you the perfect touch of color to your cheeks leaving you with a youthful look. I apply these directly to my cheeks with my fingers and they can even be used on the lips, so it’s a perfect two-in-one. My cheeks are left fresh and bright all day and I never find the need to touch up. These products are oil free, fragrance-free and hypoallergenic and they leave my skin hydrated and moisturized too. I simply apply the product to my finger tips and tap onto the skin area or lips where I want the product to be. I blend onto the apples of my cheeks and my look is complete.
I’ve had these products in my possession now for the last couple of months. Since I’ve had them, I’ve gotten a lot of use out of them. As a busy mom, I want something that allows me to do what I need to do without fussing over my makeup. But, I also want to have products that help me look put together so I still look decent. These are definitely my summer time go-to products and I haven’t been able to get enough out of them.
When and if I remember to take photos of me using these products (I’m sorry as my mind has not been in the right state lately), I’ll be sure to update this post with images. I definitely suggest checking these beauties out. I’ve was an instant fan of them and love that they are so affordable but offer great quality. If you are someone who loves to just run out the door with a little color, I think these are definitely worth looking into.
You can purchase Pixi Beauty products at your local Target (if available) as well as Pixibeauty.com

I’m so excited to share a makeup look for all of you on this beautiful “Makeup Monday”. Today is extra special because I have a Guest Writer here on Honeygirl’s World and this will be her first post that she shares with you. Those of you that have been around the blog or my YouTube channel for a while may have seen my little sister Harmony stop in and share a smile. Today she’ll be sharing a little information and her FOTD featuring BeYu Cosmetics. Please join me in welcoming her to my site.
On my face I am wearing BeYu Cosmetics. I have on the Color Patch Eye Palette 348-4303 which has green tones with gold undertones and shimmer. My eyes are lined with BeYu soft liner 667 for eyes which is a teal metallic, while on my lashes is BeYu Beauty Queen Volume Waterproof Mascara in black. The mascara itself is a very thin formula, so none of my lashes clumped together, making for effortless application. First coat already defined the lash length, and as I kept applying it was a very buildable and it was not a thick formula. Although the wand was bigger than my regular mascara, I had no problem applying the mascara at all and particularly loved the lightweight feeling after application.
I have lined and filled in my lips with BeYu soft liner 5954 for lips, an almost burnt orange, without being so intense. On top of that I am wearing BeYu catwalk volume gloss. It is said to be an instant lip plumper and it does seem to have the effect of Plumping my lips. It is a thick consistency but it’s not too uncomfortable on the lips. It definitely is a gloss so of course, it will transfer should I eat or drink anything and I would need to reapply but it pairs perfectly with the soft lip liner, color matching perfectly with the lip liner.
The eyeshadows are very soft it feels like I have nothing on and there was absolutely no fallout, yet the color pigments shine beautifully in the light, reflecting every speck of iridescence. The mascara caught every single Lash on my eyes and is not heavy or thick. The soft liner pencils for lip and for eyes glided on smoothly and their color payoff is quite excellent as well.
Normally I prefer a matte eyeshadow as a base in any one of my pallets but for these quads, I think that every single shade available is gorgeous and easily wearable. Freely mix and match the shades to your individual preference, but quite honestly each quad has Shades that you could pair with anything and take with you on the go the only thing that I wish is that there were some form of mirror that came with the quads but I was able to use mirrors that I had already on hand.
Stay tuned for other looks using different quads and products from BeYu in the future, as well as a full review of some of the products you have seen displayed in this post.
Thank you Harmony for contributing to Honeygirl’s World.
If you do a search on this site, you’ll find that I am a huge fan of Beauty Junkees. While I’ve been a little out of sorts lately, there is one thing for sure… I’m loving the new goodies that Beauty Junkees has rolled out over the last few months. Since May I’ve been testing out some new finds and I’m very excited to share them with you. If you haven’t tried anything from Beauty Junkees yet, seriously – what are you waiting for?
Beauty Junkees collection of goodies really has evolved over the last year and I’m always excited to share with all of you what I’ve had the opportunity to try. This post may be a long one because I have a lot to share, so be prepared for that. It’s picture heavy – but hey, we all love a little makeup and eye candy, right? Let’s get into it.
Let’s start off with Beauty Junkees brand new Matte Liquid Lipsticks. They retail for $14.97 each and are very different from others on the market. They are water resistant so these make the perfect selection for hitting the beach without sacrificing color on your lips. They’ll last you all day. They are lightweight and feel really comfortable on the lips. They go on smooth, dry fast and are non-sticky. I love that they offer 3x the pigment than other liquid lipsticks currently available and offer a strain that feels good on. Made in the USA and paraben-free, gluten-free and of course – cruelty-free.
The shades I have swatched for you above are (left to right): Soul Mate, Metallic Sorbet and Dinner Party.
These liquid lippies are available in six gorgeous colors – Amaretto, Caramel Latte, Dinner Party, Metallic Sorbet, Soul Mate and Vampirette. There’s a color for anyone and a small but perfect range of shades for most if not all skin tones.
These lippies come in pretty fun frosted packaging and have easy to use doe foot applicators. The application is a breeze and I didn’t notice any streaking or smudges once it set on the lips. I like that you can top these with a gloss if you want a shiny look or wear on its own. These lippies are quite long lasting and overall, considering the price point and how nice they feel on, I’m pretty impressed.
Lip gloss sets and a great Vitamin E lippy are also on the list of lusts from Beauty Junkees new roll out. Let’s start with the Vitamin E Moisture Stick since it literally has been a favorite thing for me to use lately. Perfect for dry and chapped lips, this lip balm (retailing for $10.00) has been my go-to. Made with Vitamin E to help soothe and heal the lips and provide you with relief from minor sunburns while protecting the lips so you can enjoy fun in the sun. With long term use, the Vitamin E helps to block free radicals from damaging the skin cells and leaves your lips hydrated and moisturized. Paraben Free, Gluten Free, and Cruelty-Free as well as made in the USA. While this lip balm is in simplistic packaging, I think you’ll find that it will literally be a favorite once your lips feel it. No funky tastes or feel… just soft smooth lips. This has also been a favorite for me to use on top of any of my drying matte lipsticks to help rehydrate.
Because these are minis, they are travel and purse friendly, but there is still a lot of product that you can get out of these beauties.
The mini lip glosses also come in a 3pc. set. Mint Lip Gloss Sets are available in two different selections – Kissable and Loveable. I got the Loveable collection. I’m not a big gloss fan, if you have been around here a while, you know this about me. But I love a gloss that is perfect on the go, hydrating and not sticky. Well, these definitely do all of those for me. Retailing for $14.97, you get a 3 piece set that includes: Mint Sugar Glaze (matte finish) which goes on clear with a slight hint of peach, Mint Blossom (matte finish) has a mauve plum tint and Mint Charming (shimmer finish) that has a rose mauve pink tint. They are sheer glosses that go on smooth and are non-stick. These have been perfect for me to wear alone or to top my favorite matte lippy.
Beauty Junkees also released Eye Shadow Quads that includes four single shadows in magnetic refill pans. Each pan is 26mm (the perfect size to fill your makeup kit) and while they do not currently come in a quad, they are ready to be placed in a magnetic palette of your choice. (You can check out the one that Beauty Junkees offers here)
This particular collection of shades is called: From The Stars Metallic Collection Eye Shadow Quad
The colors you see swatches above (left to right) are: Star Gazing, Star Bright, Constellation, and Star Field.
These gorgeous metallic shades are some of my favorites from Beauty Junkees and I love how buttery and pigmented these shadows are. If you are looking to try some gorgeous neutral shades from the brand, I definitely suggest checking these out.
The Totally 80’s Collection Eye Shadow Quad offers fun and bold shades that are perfect for the rocker in your or for summer eye looks. This collection includes 4 single eye shadow pans in Break Dancing (Matte), Leg Warmers (Pearlized), Totally Awesome (Matte) and That’s So Rad (Matte Pearl).
Swatched above from left to right: Break Dancing, That’s So Rad, Leg Warmers, Totally Awesome. These particular shadows apply nicely on the eyes and are beautiful and bold over a good sticky base. I apologize for how soft the swatches look on my arm. Because I’m a little darker skin and I swatch without primer, the colors did not show up as well. But, they are quite pretty on the eyes for sure.
Each Quad retails for $19.97.
Now, let’s talk Blush and Highlight Duo, shall we? I’ve added these gorgeous beauties to my collection of blushes and highlights from Beauty Junkees (which you can see) but I wanted to let you know that if you purchased the Matte Blush and lightly frosted highlighter as a duo, that would cost $14.97 – a major steal.
I currently have the Peach Petal Collection (Peach Petal Blush & Pow! Highlighter) and Mauve Mist Collection ( Mauve Mist Blush and Pink Parfait Highlighter)
Peach Petal Collection – Peach Petal Blush & POW! Highlighter. This is the perfect summer blush and highlighter duo for me and I’ve been getting a ton of use out of these gorgeous beauties. If you are looking for some color with a hint of shimmer, these would be perfect for you. I think these shades look especially nice on a warm skin tone.
Mauve Mist Collection is also gorgeous. It includes Mauve Mist Blush and Pink Parfait Highlighter. I love Mauve Mist blush on me because it works so well with my deeper skin tone, and offers the perfect flush of color. Pink Parfait is a cool toned highlighter – I tend to use warmer tones or a blend of golds, but it’s still gorgeous on the cheekbones. It offers a gleam of highlight without looking too “Bam! What?!” when wearing it. It does have a little more shimmer than POW! but it’s still gorgeous nonetheless. If you’re interested in frosted highlighters but you want something that you can build up – you’ll enjoy this one.
Each blush and highlighter offer a great range of color for a lot of skin tones and I love that they are super pigmented. The highlighters can be a bit dusty and have fall out, so make sure you tap off the excess before applying to the face. Also – since the highlighters are so pigmented, I highly suggest using a fan brush or light hand when applying. The blushes while pigmented can be applied with a light hand for a flush of color to the cheeks or with a little more pressure for a bolder look.
Like I’ve mentioned before, it’s no secret that Beauty Junkees is a brand I truly love. Their brushes are my go-to’s and I haven’t bought any high-end brushes since. I love the overall quality of their cosmetic line and I absolutely enjoy seeing a small, woman run business expand their products to include some of my favorite tools and makeup items. If I had to choose one favorite item to try, it would be near to impossible. I hope that providing you with a few of the ones I’ve been working and playing with the last several months will help. Oh – let’s not forget about their sponges too… I won’t buy another expensive beauty blender again thanks to Beauty Junkees.
Check out some of my past posts I’ve done on Beauty Junkees products:
So, how about you? Do you have any of Beauty Junkees products on your radar to try? I definitely suggest heading on over to their website (listed above) to check out what they have to offer. There are many items I have tried from the brand that I can’t stop raving about and I highly suggest checking them out. If you’re interested in something but need a little advice, feel free to comment or message me and we can discuss personally.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.

I’ve been sitting on these products for a while now, testing and trying out all the shades and I finally feel like it’s time for me to share. Beauty Junkees is quite possibly one of my favorite makeup brush brands and now I can call them one of my favorite “makeup / cosmetic” brands too. Their beauty brushes and sponges are by far some of my favorites and are practically dead on dupes for my higher end ones. So, when they started releasing eye shadows and other makeup products (which you can read about here), I was over the moon. Stay tuned in the coming weeks because I’ve been sitting on their blushes too and a few other products that I simply can’t wait to share. Today I’m going to chit chat with you about the Beauty Junkees Eye Shadow Singles, so hang tight and let’s have a some colorful fun, shall we?
Let’s talk about affordability without sacrificing quality. For $119.00 you can get 28 single eye shadow pans and a really good magnetic makeup palette. The shadows come in individual pans that can be organized in the included empty magnetic palette to help keep them organized and portable. I’ve talked about this palette before in another post, and it’s really one of my favorites. The palette includes a duo ended eye brush and not just any brush, but a really good “Beauty Junkees quality” brush. The pans are 26mm and fit into the palette without any issue. No need to pick up additional magnets or do any funky depotting (which I hate to do).
Now, let’s talk about the eye shadows themselves. There are a total of 34 gorgeous shades in a range of cool and warm tones (which we all know I love). They are buttery soft and definitely something worth looking into. Buildable and blendable color and I love that they shadows are quite easy to work with. Each eye shadow is triple milled and pressed, allowing you to use them wet or dry. Each shadow individually retails for between $6.00 and you can select between matte, satin and shimmer shades. I find that these shadows apply nicely and I was beyond impressed with how buttery the matte shadows feel. I didn’t really notice much fall out when applying and used over primer gave these shadows great longevity.
I have swatches I want to share with you on the shades available. I am very impressed with the matte shades and I love the color range that is available.
Left to Right (top row in my custom palette): Victorian Gold, Vanilla Freeze, Peachsicle, Cosmetic Peach, Peach Vanilla, Stay Golden, Winter Wheat
Left to Right (second row in my custom palette): Iced Lace, Tiki Shed, Sugared Shortbread, First Snow, Beams of Light, Tiger, Gold Flicker
Left to Right (third row in my custom palette): Dash of Curry, Tuscan Rose, Raspberry Glaze, Crushed Velvet, Love Affair, Rose Beige, Penny Lover
Left to Right (last row in my custom palette): Sonic, Ripe Olive, Brew, Stingray Gray, Brown Canyon, Blue Slate, Black Leather
Beauty Junkees also offers their Eye Shadow Quad Kits that include four shadow magnetic refill pans. This is the perfect way to grab a few shades that you know you’ll use. I am a fan of individual shadows because I love to customize my own palettes so that I’m sure I’ll use them instead of having some shadows untouched. I also absolutely love the quality of these as well as the price point. Overall – the pigmentation and quality are really nice.

Cruelty Free, Made in the USA, Paraben, and Gluten Free all make these products worth checking out. Beauty Junkees also offers a guarantee that if you try it and don’t like it – you can return it for a full refund up to 30 days after you receive it. No questions asked. They have also been compared to Makeup Geek (though I couldn’t tell you from personal experience since I don’t own anything from MG).
Since my original post on Instagram I have been asked time and time again to reveal my overall thoughts on this product line. Let’s face it, I’m all about saving a buck if I can and I know that Beauty Junkees makeup products will continue to remain a staple in my makeup arsenal. I didn’t include the additional shades that didn’t fit in the palette, but don’t worry – they are just as gorgeous as the others (I’ll update as soon as I can with swatches of those too).
You can purchase Beauty Junkees products on their website or via their Amazon Store. If I get a discount code in the future, I’ll be sure to share and post here.
If I get a discount code in the future, I’ll be sure to share and post here.
So what about you? Have you heard of Beauty Junkees or have you tried any of their products? I definitely suggest it if you haven’t already. The ratings on Amazon are good for great reason… Beauty Junkees really is great!

I’m sure over the last couple of months you have seen the release of the It’s Judy Time Eye and Lip Palettes. I was definitely ecstatic to hear they were hitting stores and the site because It’s Judy Time or Judy Travis has been one of my long time favorite YouTubers. I remember when I first started YouTube 10 years ago and we had started our channels around the same time. She would do her videos from her little apartment, teaching subscribers how to do easy hair styles and makeup looks. This was before her and Benji even got married and definitely before they had their children – Juliana and the Twins. I love when I am able to watch the life of a YouTuber grow and I feel like our lives all have similarities, ya know. Anyway – I’m off on a tangent here, regardless of what and why – I was definitely excited to see that Pixi collaborated with such a beauty. Today I’m going to be sharing with you the Eye and Lip Palettes from the ItsJudyTime + Pixi Beauty Collaboration. I don’t have any looks to share but figured I could provide my overall thoughts on the palettes as well as swatches. I noticed that they are popping up at my local Target – so maybe you could use this post as a reference if it’s something you’re interested in getting.
ItsEyeTime palette (ItsJudyTime + Pixi Beauty) consists of 12 gorgeously pigmented and silky eye shadows. Retailing for $24.00 I was definitely impressed by how soft and easy to blend these shades were. I’m a neutral girl at heart so a palette that allows me to take a look from day to night while still giving me shades that I can use for an all-over-the-lid look, it’s definitely a must have for me.
This palette was created so that the wearer could seemlessly transition their look from day to night and have a palette they could turn to for their every day looks. There are a mixture of matte and shimmer shades and a variety of neutral tones (both warm and cool) so that it would suit many skin tones.
This palette was created with the neutrals that you need in your everyday life and makes it simple and easy.
“The palettes I created with Pixi are straight to the point, simple. I like that it’s compact. If you’re a girl on the go – I like that you can just grab it and go. You can even just use your fingers.” – ItsJudyTime
As you can see from the swatches, this palette is gorgeous. I’ll be honest, I would have bought the palettes just because they were created by one of my favorite YouTubers, but I’m over the moon excited by the quality. Each shade really was smooth and creamy/buttery in texture. When I swatched each, they were swatched on my arm with no primer and really applied easily. Blending them was effortless and this would be a great palette for a beginner or pro. Highly pigmented and easy to use for anyone for sure. This palette has easily become one of my favorites in my collection and for someone who is a makeup collector, that says a lot.

Next in the collaboration is the ItsLipTime Palette (ItsJudyTime + Pixi Beauty). Also retailing for $24.00, the ItsLipTime palette features 12 lip cremes in an array of shades. You get wearable, super flattering colors that have all been mixed by Judy. Each lip color is hydrating and are easy to apply with your finger or a lip brush.
The colors were created in this lip palette so that you could wear them solo, mix or layer them to create a variety of endless shade options. The lip cremes have a soft fruit like fragrance (mainly because Judy wanted to have a scent since she enjoys smelling lipsticks – if you watch her vlogs, you know this), but definitely not an overpowering scent.
This lip palette will take you from day to night and all year round. The shades range from soft nudes to pinks and show stopping berry and red tones. You are getting a variety of blendable shades to create the looks for any day and time.
Now – I’m loving this palette and the wide range, but like with any lipstick palette, you definitely have to build the color up. Is that a bad thing? In my opinion, no. That really means you can custom make your own shades, and they are still all very pigmented colors which allow you to apply a wash of color on your lips or go full out glam – it’s truly up to you.
Over the last month or so I’ve been blending Juliana Bear and B Did It to create a very wearable and pouty pink for my everyday wear. I absolutely love the shades Judy selected in this palette and found that it’s becoming a staple in my makeup collection. I love that each shade is creamy and feels great on the lips. Moisturizing and soft without drying out my pout. Furthermore, I am so loving the fact that there is no shimmer in this palette – you get creamy lipsticks without the glitter, that makes me love it even more.
Ingredients of lip palette: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Talc, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Hydrogenated Microcrystalline Wax (Hydrogenated Microcrystalline Cera), Ozokerite, Polyethylene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Mica, Silica, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Flavor (Aroma), Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Water, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Propylene Glycol, Propylene Carbonate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, BHT, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12. Each of the palettes have the same type of packaging, which I love because it really makes them look like a set. While they do not have a mirror attached, each palette comes with a little sticky mirror which you can attach with the adhesive on the inside if you feel the need. I haven’t attached mine because I found I haven’t needed it. But, again – these palettes were made so that they could be used on the go as well. They are compact, while still offering sturdy packaging so they would be perfect for travel.
I absolutely love that the shades all have names – hallelujah, that’s such a big deal for me… because when I’m doing my makeup I like to reference the color choices. And, I love that each shade name is listed on the back of the palette for easy reference – no funky pieces of plastic to get tossed out later. One of my favorite things about this collaboration is that these products are available at Target stores. I’m so excited for Judy and love when I walk into my local Target and see the palette in display. It makes me excited and happy.
You see, I watched Judy grow over the years and watched her YouTube channel flourish into well over 1 million subscribers. She’s literally a household name and as a YouTube and blogger myself, I’m excited to see that this is happening for one of our own. One day, I can only hope that something like this would happen for me. I’m a dreamer, but I love seeing people succeed and Judy is one of my favorites so to watch this unfold, it’s definitely exciting.
You can purchase these palettes at: https://www.pixibeauty.com/ or at your local Target store where available.

Oh am I excited to share these gorgeous beauties with all of you. A couple of weeks ago I shared with you the “You Had Me At Aloha” Palette from Cargo Cosmetics (you can read about it here) and I really wanted to share these gorgeous thangs with you then, but decided that the palette truly needed it’s own post devoted strictly to it’s u’i-ness (u’i means beauty in Hawaiian). So, today – I finally get the chance to share with all of you the Swimmables Longwear Eye Shadow Sticks from the New Spring and Summer 2017 Collection.
The Cargo Swimmables Longwear Eye Shadow Sticks retail for $20.00 each pencil. The new Spring and Summer collection for 2017 includes eight gorgeous shades that offer you wearable shades or pops of colors to create your show stopping Spring and Summer looks. These eye shadow sticks basically were created to work well with the You Had Me At Aloha Palette (which is also a part of the same release). These shadow sticks are lightweight, creamy and crease proof. They are water-resistant and offer you high coverage color in a formula that glides the lids or eyes effortlessly. Once the shadow stick is applied, the formula has a 20 second play time to be blended (so work quickly) before it sets. Once it sets, the color stays true and lasts as long as you do. It comes off when you take it off.
I love the longevity and lasting power of these shadow sticks. They work well for me on the the lower lash line, even through my water eyes and allergies. But, while they will last all day and don’t crease on my oily lids, they are still fairly easy to remove when it’s time to come off. The shades are perfect for me to use every day as an all over the lid look or on the go when I need quick color to bring out my brown eyes. No matter the reason, these are perfect and I like that they are creamy enough to use as a base for the shadows in the palette from the collection.
Use these shadow sticks to create an entire eye look and blend easily with a brush or your finger tips. I love using Paradise Bay (turquoise) as a pop of color on the lower lash line. Glacier Bay also makes a great shade to apply to my waterline to help brighten my eyes or to the inner corner of my eyes to make my eyes seem more open and wide.
Considering the long wear and how creamy your shade stick is – you get quite a bit of product which means you’ll be able to create countless looks utilizing the different shades.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Isododecane, Ozokerite, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Quaternium-90 Bentonite, Polyethylene, Propylene Carbonate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite. May Contain (+/-):mica(Ci 77019),titanium Dioxide(Ci 77891), Iron Oxides(Ci 77499, Ci 77492, Ci 77491), Blue 1 Lake(Ci 42090).
I have had the chance to try out quite a bit of products from Cargo Cosmetics over the year. And, I may sing their praises but I’m always impressed with the products they produce and I’m honestly surprised that Cargo is not talked about as much as they should be. The brand consistently puts out great products and these are definitely no exception. I think any of these shadow sticks (while a bit on the pricier side) give you the option of creating a showstopping glam look or something every day for you to use. The options are endless. Prior to trying any of the shadow sticks from this collection, I have already owned several from a previous collection and have loved and enjoyed them.
You can purchase these and more from http://cargocosmetics.com
How about you? Do you think you could get some use out of these beauties? If so, what color do you have your sites on? If you already own one, or two or more, let me know what colors you love in the comments below.

It’s that time of year when I start to pick up a few key items when it comes to makeup. The last few years I haven’t done much makeup shopping – to be honest, I’ve been doing really well with my spending. But, I tend to pick up a few items to try towards the first few months of a new year. About 3 weeks ago I found myself browsing through the aisles at my local Walmart – mainly because I was getting my oil changed and had nothing to do for an hour. I know, I know – bad idea. But, I found that it was actually a good time to check out the new cosmetic finds. Within the last couple of months, Wet n Wild released their Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balms and I had seen a bunch in stock at Walmart at about $2.99 a pop so I decided, hey – I want to try these and I picked them up. Today I’m going to be sharing with you my thoughts on the Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balms and we’ll see if they were a hit for me.
Wet n Wild claims that this is their 1st Gel lip balm that provides a natural looking, sheer gloss that glides on smoothly while delivering lasting moisture and a sheer, glossy color. I picked up a total of five shades, mainly because I really want to see the different range of colors and how they would work with my skin tone. In all honesty, I didn’t think these would pack much of a color.
These Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balms come in 7 different shades. Wet n Wild says that these are more glamorous than your regular lip balm, yet more natural looking than lipstick with it’s breakthrough color and gel formula.
“Your pout gets wrapped in luxury and kissed with a soft, barely there shade of glossy gorgeousness. You will never want to be without it.”
Now, for years I have been a fan of the Maybelline Baby Lips. This particular lip balm is ideal for me to take on the go and toss in my purse while offering my lips a smooth balm that is perfect for every day use. I had wondered if these Perfect Pout Lip Balms from Wet n Wild were similar. After applying the first color on my lips (while in the waiting area of Walmart because my lips didn’t have any balm and were feeling dry), I was immediately impressed with how easily this balm glided on. I didn’t have a mirror to look at the color so I had no idea what it looked like on. I went to the car when my oil change was complete and realized that I had a really pretty soft pink hue to my lips. I was impressed. Having used Maybelline Baby Lips for years and knowing that while they offered a tint of color – because my lips are darker than most, I don’t see the hue very often. I was very impressed with the color payoff of the Wet n Wild.
So, let’s get down to business… how are these lip balms? First, if I had to compare them to Maybelline Baby Lips, honestly – I don’t think I’d buy a Baby Lips again. I love the pigmentation on these lippies, they have nice color and perfect for my style. The fact that the tinted ones show up on my dark toned lips are a big deal for me. They allow me to put them on and run out the door looking put together. They glide on a lot easier than Baby Lips as well. There are times when some of my Baby Lips balms slightly tug on my lips when applying. I’m thinking that the gel formula may have some to do with the slip. If you are looking for a lip product with slip and that glides on – you’ll enjoy this one.
The Perfect Pout Balms feel good on the lips but you certainly have to reapply after eating and drinking. They are not really long lasting and longevity is basic – nothing to write home to mom about. But, I feel for the cost and the basic need of these, they work.
With regard to moisturizing the lips – they definitely moisturize my lips and I haven’t noticed any drying or odd feeling after using all day. I have been enjoying these for every day use because I have a few colors to choose from and they are perfect for days I have no makeup or only mascara.
These lip balms feel very comfortable on the lips – lots of slip for someone like me who loves to pucker their lips often. The color does transfer onto anything your lips touch – including my husband’s lips but it still looks fairly natural so he wasn’t too bothered by it. These are very glossy on – so it looks like you have something on your lips for sure. I love how smooth it is and how smooth it leaves my lips. Formulated with Vitamin E, Avocado Oil and a proprietary Phytosterol complex – my lips are left feeling quite nice.

There is a huge con for these lippies however. Do NOT leave these in the car, especially if it is a hot day. I’m thinking due to the gel-like formula, they melt easier. I left mine in my purse and ran into the store to grab a bottle of water. I was only gone about 5 minutes and when I came back to the car – it was so soft it basically mushed some what. It wasn’t even a hot day – so I was disappointed to find how soft the product was after the short time. This is the type of balm you definitely don’t want to leave in your pocket because your body heat can melt or soften the product easily.
These lip balms are very lightly scented in my opinion – I could smell a hint of what I thought was a fruit like fragrance, but couldn’t quite figure it out and I didn’t find that they had any flavor – maybe it was just me. Overall – at the price point, (they are cheaper here in Hawaii than Maybelline Baby Lips) I think I may replace these in the future when I run out of them.
You can purchase these products where ever Wet n Wild products are sold – I have been seeing them at Walmart, Walgreens, Target and CVS here. They are also available online at Wetnwildbeauty.com
So what about you? Have you heard or tried these lip balms from Wet n Wild? Do you think these are worth checking out. If you do, definitely let me know in the comments below your thoughts.
Have a great day.

When it comes to my “Go-To” makeup products, lip color or lip balm and mascara are my everythang… they are the only two things I know I MUST have. But, a great lip color that will last and look good for hours on end – well, come on ladies… we all know it’s practically impossible. And, finding a lip color that my husband doesn’t mind wearing – well, obviously – there is no such thing… ha ha! A few months ago I was introduced to LipSense and boy has it been a lifesaver. Today I’m going to share with you a few gorgeous shades that I got from Bombshell Cosmetics and we’ll chat a little more about these lippies that have made such a huge impression on me.
Bombshell Cosmetics – which is owned by Lauren Williamson, sells a plethora of Senegence products, which also include LipSense lip shades in a variety of shades. Like I mentioned before, I have used LipSense before and have massed quite a few shades in my collection. It has easily become one of my favorite longwearing lipsticks to date. Why? Well, it’s simple – I don’t have to worry about touch up while on the go and I can kiss my husband without worry of color transfer on him. He likes that and I like kissing him 😀 I think the ultimate test for any lipstick is to try a dark shade or a red with a kiss test and if it passes, it’s a win.
*On my lips (above) I’m wearing SheLaLa – a gorgeous standard red. SheLaLa was applied with three layers of color and topped with Glossy Gloss to not only set the lip color but to provide that gorgeous glossy and plump lip you see.
*The photo above (the lip swatch) is what my lips looked like after about 6 hours of wear – through eating, drinking, kissing, etc. I reapplied the glossy gloss to add more shine, moisturize my lips and I was ready to conquer the world once again.
Through eating, drinking, kissing and long hours running errands or out and about, the only touch ups I need to do is to reapply the gloss – which not only secures the lip color on your lips during initial application, but it also keeps the lips moisturized so it doesn’t dry out. After hours of using the same color – through wear and tear and a ton of trials, my colors are always exactly as they were when I applied them. I never have to worry about my bright reds rubbing off and causing a scene.
*To mix it up a bit for all of you – I applied Pumpkin Spice to my lips – three layers total and topped the lip color with Matte Gloss, which I had in my personal collection. Matte Gloss is obviously matte, but will set your lip color in place like Glossy Gloss does and give your lips a matte finish.
Pumpkin Spice has been a great welcome to my collection of colors because it is the perfect “Honey” shade and great for me to use every day to add some color to my lips.
How to apply LipSense:
Make sure your lips are clean and dry. You can choose to define your lips with the LinerSense first, also available from Bombshell Cosmetics. I tend to use the doe foot applicator to define my line when applying.
Make sure your lips are parted and apply the LipSense product with the applicator, beginning at the outside corner of your lip – while spreading the lip color. Make sure you are sweeping the color on in one motion, do not go back and forth or remove the applicator.
Apply three layers (letting each layer dry about five seconds) before applying the next layer. This is important, because if the layers do not dry, it will start to rub off the previous layers you applied.
Once you have applied the three layers, let the last layer dry and then apply your top coat – Glossy Gloss, Matte Gloss, etc. (there are a ton of different glosses available). This gloss will not only set your lip color so it is long lasting, but it’s a moisturizing gloss that will keep your lips moist while wearing.
A few suggestions… I definitely suggest taking your gloss topper with you on the go. This is great to add to your lips should they start to feel dry. Also note that you cannot use any other gloss with LipSense color as it will not set your lipstick properly and that’s when it will come off.
*In the photo above, I’m using LipSense in Pumpkin Spice topped with Matte Gloss. This photo was taken after 7 hours or so of use. As you can see, there is some fading and some of the lip color is coming off, however – I noticed that this happens more with lip colors with shimmer. This color lasted through a 10 hour day before I finally removed it.
When purchasing your LipSense color – I highly suggest getting a Collection, especially if it is your first time buying or trying the product. The collection includes the Lip Color of your choice as well as a Glossy Gloss and Ooops! Remover. The collection retails for $55.00. Why do I suggest this you might add? Well, I have found that the lip color is easiest removed with the Ooops! Remover as many of my traditional makeup removers (even my cleansing oils and coconut oil) do not remove the product easily or on their own. Also – you’ll need a Glossy Gloss to set your product, so it’s going to save you some time if you get them altogether.
LipSense Color – $25.00
LipSense Glossy Gloss – $20
LipSense Ooops! Remover – $10.00
LipSense Collection Set – $55.00
LipSense is one of those kinds of makeup products that may take a little practice when first trying it out. It’s not difficult, but applying to your lips and getting in the habit of “not” pressing your lips together until the color is set with gloss, well – it can be somewhat of a challenge if you’re used to pressing your lips with other lip colors. But, once it is applied and once you get the hang out of it – you’ll probably like it like I do.
Just a note – on first application, you can get a tingle on your lips which goes away after applying the gloss. This doesn’t always happen, only if I don’t apply the color all the time. Some people may not get that tingle while others may get it full force. Don’t be alarmed, you are okay, lol. And, remember, do not go back and forth when applying the color so you get even coverage. Also – I LOVE to layer different colors together to create my own shades. One of my favorite combinations is Pumpkin Spice and Sheer Pink to create a pretty pinky nude tone with a golden shimmer.

It’s no secret that I’m not really a huge gloss fan. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I think they are ugly or anything – it’s just that I have long hair that ALWAYS gets stuck to my lips and I’m not a fan of the sticky icky… ya know? So, when I find a gloss that is not only gorgeous but also isn’t sticky – I’m a fan… like totally. Jesses Girl is a brand that I’ve loved for a few years now since first trying something from the line about 5 years ago (or so) and I remember seeing the release of these Glow Stix Lip Glosses a year or so back. I honestly thought they looked cool, but didn’t really think it would be something I’d enjoy – until I used them. Today I’m going to share with you my thoughts on these Jesses Girl Glow Stix Lip Glosses… and you can decide if they are something you’ll want to check out too.
Jesses Girl Glow Stix Lip Glosses are available in three colors and retail for $4.99 (net. wt. – 0.05 oz / 1.5 mL each). These are stunning iridescent, holographic topcoat glosses that feel really really nice on the lips. As I mentioned previously, I’m not a fan of gloss because they tend to be sticky and get caught in my hair – but I found after using these that they are quite comfortable on the lips. I have had these now for over a month and have used them to top my favorite lip colors and have also used them on their own.
The available shades are: Red Dawn, Tangerine and Wicked.
Red Dawn is clear iridescent gloss with an orange hue and a red shift. It is my favorite of the three to top over a pink lipstick shade because it really enhances the lipstick color.
Wicked is the boldest out of the three shades in my opinion. It is a clear iridescent gloss with a green hue and a blue shift. I have been enjoying putting this gloss over red lipsticks or deep fuchsia or berry colors.
Each shade on my lips was applied with two coats of gloss and minimal blotting so that you could see the color effect that the glosses provided. However, when I use these glosses, I usually will pucker my lips together for a more natural look. The photo below is what my lips look like if I pucker them up and blend and distribute the color much more evenly on my lips. This is how I would wear it on it’s own if used without any base.
These lip glosses, while made and designed to be toppers actually make really nice glosses on their own. They feel comfortable on the lips and while they need to be reapplied after drinking, eating and some talking, they give your lips a gorgeous glossy look with a color hue. I really enjoy wearing them on their own and love that my lips feel moisturized and hydrated when I have them on.
The lip gloss comes with your standard doe foot type of applicator – but I like it, it applies the gloss nicely and I can easily trace the outline of my lips without any issues.
The packaging on these lip glosses is simple but very fun. It’s basic and allows you to see through to the iridescent holographic color inside which I think is super cool. While these shades do not fully glow in the dark, because of the type of colors they are – you can see a hint of them under a black light. I don’t have pictures to show you but I noticed it on accident while at a party – you could see a yellow hue to my lips – I thought it was pretty cool. These lip glosses are obviously not something you would expect to use but once you try them, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how cool they are. I definitely think they are fun and I love using them on their own. They are not kiss proof – which I mentioned before, but they feel so comfortable on the lips that I enjoy using them.
So how about you, do you think you would like these funky glow stix glosses? I think they are fun and definitely worth checking out at that price point. I suggest picking up at least one and having some fun.
You can purchase these beauties at: https://www.jessesgirlcosmetics.com/ or at your local Rite Aid. We don’t have Rite Aid here so I order online and enjoy the affordable and quick shipping.

When it comes to makeup – I have an overall love relationship with most of the things I’ve tried. I pride myself in the fact that I have favorites from both the drugstore and high end, luxury items. There’s no doubt, I’m a makeup lover with an extreme cosmetic addition… hehe! Don’t judge me, lol! I have been using Pixi Beauty products for a few years now, but today I’m sharing with you a few of my current Pixi Beauty favorites. Recently I received a little green box of treats and I have been loving them all so much that I just had to share it with you. Let’s chit chat about each one shall we?
All of the products I got in my little sweet green box were “new to me” treats so I was very excited to dive in and check it out. The Nourishing Cleansing Balm is something that I’ve had my eyes on since seeing it on the website a few weeks ago. This deep cleansing balm-to-oil cleanser immediately caught my attention because I cleanse and moisturize with oil daily, so it was something I really wanted to give a try. The balm melts aware makeup and impurities to leave you with clear, glowing skin.
Retailing for $22.00 (90 mL/3.04 fl.oz.), this nourishing balm has sweet almond oil and cocoa butter and leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturized after each use. I love that it includes skin loving ingredients and is not harmful to my sensitive skin. If I had to choose one of my absolute FAVORITE products from Pixi that I’ve tried, this balm right here, would be at the top of my list. I LOVE IT! It’s very rich in texture, but smooths onto the skin so nicely and cleanses so quickly. It nourishes my skin with sweet almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E to leave my skin feeling plum and nourished.
To follow the Nourishing Cleansing Balm, I use the Pixi Glow Tonic (100mL / $15.00). Now – they call this a cult favorite and I’ve been hearing my blogger friends swoon and rave about this product for a while, so I just couldn’t wait to try it out. This toner is an exfoliating toner that helps give you brighter, more radiant skin. I have a secret to share… I can’t use Toner often and hardly use it because it causes my skin to get irritated. I was afraid to try this, even if I had only heard great things about it. This miracle in a bottle toner helps to bright the complexion while resulting in a healthy glow. It’s formulated with 5% glycolic acid and helps to exfoliate, brighten and smooth your skin. With Aloe Vera, ginseng and botanical extracts working together, you are nourishing and treating your skin while revealing an improved complexion. I also LOVE that this is alcohol-free. I use this after cleansing and apply with one of my favorite reusable rounds from Facekins. I don’t notice any burning or irritation while using this product and my skin looks brighter after using it for a few weeks. While I’m not the toning kind of gal, I think this will be one I’ll continue to use.
The Pixi Beauty Rose Oil Blend ($24 – 30 mL/1.01 fl.oz.) is also a product I have not tried before. It includes a botanical blend infused with powerful complex of youth-preserving oils to help improve skin’s elasticity and glow. Formulated with sweet almond, rose hip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils to help nourish the complexion, leaving my skin feeling smooth and hydrated… but most importantly – soft to the touch. If you’ve been following me a while, then you know I’m an oil moisturizer gal – I use coconut oil to moisturize each night with my regular skin care routine, so I’m always excited to try out new oils. I love this one. I love the packaging – but the oil applies and soaks into my skin so quickly and easily. I love mixing this with my standard skin care regimen for moisture that lasts all day and night and my skin feels so incredibly soft. The oil soaks into my skin quickly, it doesn’t sit on the surface like others can do. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily at all – but moisturized and half a dropper full is more than enough to cover my entire face, neck and decollete area. If I want to have that dewy/glowing skin look, I will blend the Rose Oil Blend with my regular moisturizer and apply to my face. It leaves my skin looking and feeling like I just stepped out from under a waterfall – fresh and glowing.
Ah, of course – I can’t leave out a gorgeous highlight, because we all know that Honey loves to glow. The Beauty Blush Duo & Kabuki in Peach Honey ($18 – 10.21 g/0.35 oz.) is GORGEOUS. I love a great highlight but I have a skin tone that is not quite dark but not light at all – an in between. So because of this, a daily highlighter and blush with shimmer is hard to find… well, until now. This gorgeous blush and highlighter duo is perfect for that lit-from-within look for fuss free beauty in just a few seconds. Simple swirl the kabuki brush (which is included – woohoo), into the compact and pick up the color to apply to your cheeks for a great and gorgeous glow. Both powders are super silky and provide your cheeks with a flawless and fresh finish. I LOVE these for everyday use because it provides me with the glow I want in an everyday product, without looking like I just came out of the disco era… but still enough color to be show stopping.
The natural mineral formula of these powders is infused with vitamin E and mica, so it treats your skin as you wear it. You get hydration and long wear with light diffusing capabilities. The Kabuki brush that is included is also a steal. It’s soft and applies the product nicely to the skin. Definitely a great duo to have for every day use or those days you are feeling you want a little more glam. I love golden hued highlighters so this takes the cake for me and the peachy toned blush is perfect for my everyday look. The blush is a tad bit too light for my skin tone, but that excites me more because it makes for a great everyday flush of color without looking like I just plopped rose colored paint on my face. I love both shades – both pigmented and gorgeous.
Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polybutene, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate. [+/- Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)].
It seems as if I have covered everything except for lips. I want to introduce you to the Pixi Beauty Liplift Max ($14 – 2.7 g / 0.09oz). A volume-maximizing lip treatment with peptides to hydrate and plump the lips… YAAAASSSSS… sign me up! This volume-maximizing lip treatment has a cooling sensation with a glossy finish. It is formulated with peptides to hydrate, firm and plump the lips. You also get an added benefit of aloe to heal, jojoba to moisturize and chamomile to soothe. With a fresh mint flavor, you simply can’t go wrong. I have the Liplift Max in Honey Sheen – a gorgeous nude shade. All of the three shades (including Honey Sheen) are sheer, but they make perfect toppers to your favorite lipsticks or liners and wear nicely. I’m not a huge gloss fan but I do tend to wear glosses in the winter months and this one is perfect for such. It helps to hydrate my lips while leaving them looking plump and full. I am a huge fan of Buxom lip glosses so I had used those to compare to this one. It seems like this one offers the plumping without the sting and I like the minty flavor.
I think the LipLift Max is perfect for topping off your matte lippies and while it is a bit sticky, it’s not that bad and still wearable in my book. I’ve been getting lots of use out of this product for a daily lip gloss and I find that it works as I would expect. It’s a little thick, but still workable and leaves a gorgeous sheen on the lips. If you are a fan of glosses, you may like this one.
I love when I have the chance to try out new products from a brand I already love. It’s especially fun when these new products work well with my sensitive skin. I’ve always been a fan of Pixi Beauty and have talked about many of their products in the past. I’m loving trying out some things that are new to me. I’m sure there will be more products in the future that I’ll try and love because Pixi is one of those brands that offer good quality. Pixi products are a little more costly than your average drugstore finds, but I am so excited to have Target near me now that I can browse through and pick up my favorites. If you haven’t tried Pixi before, I highly suggest checking them out. If I had to choose just one item from all of these I featured, I highly suggest the Nourishing Cleansing Balm – seriously, it’s a favorite for sure.
You can purchase any of these products and more at: http://www.pixibeauty.com/ or at your local Target store.
Have you tried any of these products from Pixi? If you have, what are your thoughts on them? If you haven’t, do you see any in this post that may make your list of must-try products?
