I am thankful that I don’t have puffy under eyes… though I’m constantly cautious and on my game because puffy under eyes or eye bags run in the family on my dad’s side.  Let’s face it, with everything on the market today – there has got to be a product that I know will help combat this issue and prevent it from happening.  Because of this issue that may be in my future, I use eye creams and gels and love to wear under eye patches to help keep my under eyes moisturized, tighter, brighter and smoother.  Over the last few weeks I have been using under eye patches from Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care.  I have never heard of this brand prior to trying their products, but I think this will definitely be a household name in my home.  When it comes to a Collagen Eye Mask – under eye patches, it is important that you find one that works and feel comfortable on.  Here are my thoughts on this product.

Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care Collagen Eye Masks - Under Eye Patches

Beneleaf’s Collagen Under Eye Masks retail for $24.99 (on sale now for $19.99) and come in a pack of five masks.  These patches are made from a proprietary material called Hydrogel which is identical in structure to our skin cells.  Once they come in contact with skin, the cells immediately begin to pull in all the nutrients from masks into the deepest layers of the dermis.  Immediately after applying the masks, I felt like my under eyes were quenched and hydrated and I loved it!

The collagen masks include a unique blend of proven ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid (a favorite skin care product of mine), power antioxidants and peptides which result in tighter, brighter and smoother skin around the eyes.  After the first use, I felt like my skin under my area definitely became brighter and didn’t feel as dry as it can be.  What I love is that these are just so easy to use and leave absolutely no mess behind.  The results last for days and I usually will use one once a week.

Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care Collagen Eye Masks - Under Eye Patches

These masks do not stick and stay in place and do eventually start to slide if you are not laying down.  So I normally apply them and then lay in bed with a magazine or get caught up on my favorite shows.  As you can see from the photo above, they will start to slide down your face if you are not laying flat.  It doesn’t bother me though, I like to take the time to really just enjoy 10-15 minutes of relaxation time and will lay down after applying.

How to apply:

  • After thoroughly cleansing your skin, apply each mask under the eye area. (see photo)  The largest part will go nearest to your nose.
  • Allow the mask to sit and work for 10-15 minutes.  Go ahead and lay down and relax.
  • Once the time is up – carefully remove the mask.  You do not need to wash the serum off as it will work as a great treatment and will soak into the skin quickly.
  • Repeat the treatment as needed.  I usually will use one every week or so depending on how my under eyes are feeling.
  • Toss the mask away and you’re good to go till your next treatment.

These masks are suitable for all/most skin types:  Dry, Oily, Normal and Combination skin.  With my sensitive skin I didn’t notice any issues at all and it didn’t cause any flare ups or skin sensitivities.  You will notice that any puffiness and dark circles you may have will be reduced quickly.  I love that my skin feels tight and plump after one use and it’s great that these products do not contain Parabens or Alcohol.

Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care Collagen Eye Masks - Under Eye Patches

If you use this product as I do, a pack of these will last you about a month – I use them once a week as needed.  The product is priced pretty well and I love how soothing it feels under my eyes.  On days where I feel like I had a crazy run around kind of time, I’ll put these on to help me relax and just enjoy the pampering.  There is a light fragrance in these products, one I haven’t quite figured out yet, but it is not overpowering and did not bother my sensitivities to smell.  I love the light cooling sensation these have on my skin and I find that putting the masks in the fridge prior to applying them (for about 30 minutes to an hour prior) makes for a great cool-off session during this hot summer heat.  I definitely recommend these and can’t wait to use more products from this line.

So – what brands do you use for under eye patches?  Have you used something like this before?

If you asked me 5 years ago “Are you happy with where your skin is?” I would probably answer you with a big fat NO!  Five years ago I used foundation and concealer to hide my imperfections and having turned 30 then, my skin was freaking out on me.  I found out later that I had severe Eczema and that after having my twins, my skin needed a little more finesse.  It’s funny when I think back at everything I had been doing to my poor face then.  I had just had my twins and my face really did have it’s fair share of break outs.  After changing up my skin care routine, adding and removing certain products from my skin care regimen and knowing what works and what doesn’t, my skin has come a VERY long way.  Recently I have added the Foreo Luna to my cleansing arsenal.  I have tried many different cleansing brushes in the past, (some were fails, some worked well, some were too harsh), I had hoped the Luna would be a product I would love and let me tell you, it is!

Foreo Luna

Cleansing my skin has always been an important part of who I am and my entire skin routine, but I didn’t realize that harsh products both for cleansing, treating and even tools were causing my skin to have my Eczema flare ups.  Having added the Foreo Luna to my cleansing regimen, I have found that it will now be a product I can’t live without.  I have been using this product consistently for several weeks and have found that even with my severely sensitive skin – I’ve been able to get great results from this tool.  Like any other cleansing tool, I’m unable to use it daily for I will get a reaction, but I find that I can use it every other day unlike some of my favorite cleansing brushes like the Soniclear, which I am only able to use once a week.

The LUNA is a cleansing and anti-aging device with a breakthrough approach to skin care.  It’s T-Sonic pulsations are sent through the ultra-soft and smooth silicone touch points to deeply clean, but gently remove dirt, oil and makeup residue.  After one use I immediately noticed my skin looked radiant and brighter and my skin looked healthier.  After one use, I fell in love with this product instantly.  The unit I have is specifically designed for Sensitive / Normal skin however, there are options available for Combination skin and Ultra Sensitive skin types too.

Foreo Luna

The Luna has soft “rounded” silicone touch points which mean there are no abrasive surfaces on the unit resulting in a gentler clean then sharp oscillating brushes that you get from your standard facial cleansing devices.  The ultra-hygienic silicone design is nonporous to resist bacteria buildup making it up to 35x more hygienic than bristled brushes and since the Luna’s silicone brushes are so durable, they don’t require replacing.  While the Luna is definitely an investment in your skin, it will also save you money in the long run in having to purchase replacement heads as you would for the traditional facial-cleansing brushes.

I use my Foreo Luna for just two minutes at night when cleansing – every other day (since my skin is too sensitive to use daily).  Since I have sensitive skin, I also use my very gentle Cetaphil cleanser as it cleanses gently with the unit and makes my cleaning experience feel like I’m getting a facial.  Using the product is so simple – simply apply your cleanser, wet your Luna and then turn it on and use it on your face.  After I cleansed (1 minute), I then use the back side of the unit (the Anti-Aging mode) and apply to the wrinkle-prone areas that I would normally treat with wrinkle creams.  In just a matter of a few days I noticed a dramatic change in how bright and radiant my skin looked.

Foreo Luna

Besides the awesome gentle cleansing I get from this unit, I love how easy it is to not only use but charge.  This cool little device is charged once and will last up to 450 uses for each full charge.  The Luna is waterproof, which means I can use it in the shower and not worry about a thing and like I mentioned previously you don’t have to change out a brush head like you would other products.  While I do enjoy my Soniclear – that is one thing I didn’t like and the Luna is much gentler on my skin than any brush I have used on my face.  You have several different levels of power on the device so you can adjust the settings to fit your sensitivities and the unit has a built in light in the base that will illuminate to let you know when to move around on your face to get the best possible clean in the time allotted.  This is perfect for those on the go or moms like me who are busy and have their hands full with mommy stuff.  Just two minutes a day (two minutes every other day for me) and you have a great cleanse and an anti-aging regimen all in one.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on skin care products and tools over the years and I’m glad to have the Foreo Luna in my life.  It has definitely made waves of positive changes for me and my skin.  If you are interested in checking out this product – click here and see if it is right for you.  Also you can head on over to foreo.com for more details.

Have you tried the Foreo Luna before?  If not, is this a product you may be interested in?

There is absolutely no denying it… when it comes to Colour Pop – I’m absolutely happy, ecstatic and in love with this brand.  Come on now – I own over 50 of their eye shadows and more than 15 of their lippy stix, so it’s quite obvious I have major crush issues.  As soon as I heard that Colour Pop was bringing in blushes, highlighters and bronzers, I had to snatch a few of them up in heart beat.  Last year (2014), I actually used several of my favorite eye shadows from ColourPop as blush and highlighter so knowing I could get the real thing had me dancing in the streets… literally.  I have been playing with some of the new highlighters now for a bit and I wanted to share with you my thoughts on them.  So were the new ColourPop highlighters love at first sight for me?

New Colour Pop Highlighters - Was it Love at First Sight For Me? http://honeygirlsworld.com

I ordered:  Lunch Money, Spoon, Wisp, Most Necessary and Butterfly Beach.  Wisp, Butterfly Beach and Lunch Money all looked like shades that would compliment my warm skin tone and something I could use for a gorgeous highlight for summer and Spoon looked like a shade that I could use year round offering a great highlight for me at night.  Most Necessary – while I thought would be a great blush – I purchased because as I tan in the summer months, it would offer a sunkissed glow.

Each highligher is just $8.00 and comes in the usual ColourPop packaging.  They have 4.2g/0.15oz of product in each and the highlighters have that same mousse like texture we have grown to love with CP.  I find that they are best applied with my fingers, but also enjoy blending them out for a subtle highlight with my ELF Small Stippling brush.  The embossing on these highlighters are different from the blushes, bronzers and shadows and each one I ordered has a gorgeous shimmer and glisten to them.

It’s obvious that I was gonna jump on these as soon as they were released, let’s face it – I’m addicted to the brand and price point… but I had high hopes for these and while they work for me, I was a bit disappointed with them overall.  While my skin is normally dry, as the summer heat hits Hawaii, I find that my skin lends to be a little on the oily side during Summer months.  Because of this – I noticed that when my skin is oilier than usual – these offer a VERY subtle highlight – not nearly what I would expect from a brand I have grown to love.  If I use it on my normal/dry skin – the highlight is deeper and much more pigmented.  While I know these will work well for me as an every day highlight, I find that it still doesn’t give me that “look at that highlight tho” kind of look that I crave.  Honestly, I get better highlight from Girly (a CP shadow) blended onto my cheek bones – then I do with these.  Don’t get me wrong – I’ll still use them and use them often, but I’m disappointed that they are not that “wowzers” kind of highlight I had expected.

I do not use Foundation or Concealer so I’m not sure how these would perform over face products like those.  I find that applying these first and then adding some of my favorite powder highlights like BECCA Shimmering Powder in Moonstone offer a really nice effect.  Keep in mind that I found these highlighters to flop for me when my skin was oily… when my skin was on the drier side, I noticed the highlighters all showed up fairly okay on me, so I don’t know if oily skin is the factor.

ColourPop Cosmetics

In the photo above I am using Lunch Money blended onto my cheek bones, on my cupid’s bow and lightly on the bridge of my nose and forehead.  As you can see – it offers a subtle highlight in this photo.  I am using a moisturizer with SPF so my skin is a little more on the dewy side and even when applied with my fingers or my ELF Small Stippling brush, I found that the color faded on me within a 30 minute time frame.  If I set the highlighter with a powder, it will give me longer staying power and if my skin is dry that day – I can get a few hours of longevity out of each one.

Overall while I’m a bit disappointed with the longevity and staying power of these on oily skin – they worked well with my dry skin and I love the shades I have.  I pull for these a lot because application is fun and easy and I do not have to worry about dirtying a brush to apply them.  I love the color range available from ColourPop and the five shades I ordered are really pretty.  You can’t beat the price and they work well as a base for your powdered highlights.  Are they a complete miss for me?  Nah, I am sure I will make them work… but I think that if you normally have oily skin, these may not give you the pigmentation you would expect of ColourPop.  If you use Foundation/Concealer these may offer you a little longer staying time, but I use these on bare skin.  I have not tried them over a face primer.

ColourPop Bronzer Carry-On

I also wanted to share the one ColourPop bronzer I have in Carry-On.  This bronzer is the perfect shade for me and offers a subtle bronze look.  It’s matte, creamy in texture like the other mousse like products from CP and retails for $8 with 4.2g/0.15oz of product. I am using this bronzer for a subtle/light contour in the photo above and it works.  If I use this bronzer alone, it works well and while it fades, it still gives me that bronze look I desire.  If I apply a powder bronzer over this product, I notice that there can be light oxidation after having the product on for several hours.  Applying this with your finger in the hollows of your cheeks can be a bit of a challenge if not careful so I definitely suggest a synthetic contour brush.

Just figured I would throw this in since it is only one product.  Have you tried any of the highlighters or bronzers from ColourPop?  What are your thoughts on these items if you have?  If not, do you have any on your wishlist?

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen me post about this collection last week.  The Colourpop Mondays in Malibu collection was rolled out as a part of their summer goods and I have had it in my possession now for a few weeks.  I have been on a no-buy for a few months but as soon as that collection was rolled out, I immediately fell in love with the shades.  I figured, since it is still available – that I would share it with you and you can decide for yourself if it is something that you would enjoy.  My gosh – I swear my blog is turning into a Colourpop hub, but I can’t help it – I’m seriously addicted – lol.

Colourpop Mondays in Malibu Collection

The Mondays in Malibu collection ($30) includes six gorgeous shades that are perfect for summer but definitely something you could use year round.  Each shade within this collection can be used on its own as a lid shade or blended together to create a stunning eye look.  As all of the six shadow collections I own, I love the packaging and it reminds me of Hawaii so I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous cover but the shades hold their own.

Colourpop Mondays in Malibu Collection

From Top to Bottom – Left to Right, I explain the colors to you and what their sheen is:

  • Gecko – this gorgeous soft opalescent silvery green shade has a pink duo chrome and is a pearlized finish.
  • Snakebite – a mid-tone warm gold with an ultra-metallic finish, this gorgeous color is great for all over the lid or blended into the crease.
  • Sand Swoon – is probably one of my favorites in this collection.  It is a true pastel pink with soft sprinkles of gold flecks in a Satin Luxe finish.  This shadow applies like a satin but I love that the gold shimmer really shines when applied.
  • Prickly Pear is my absolute favorite in this collection.  If you are a MAC lover, at first sight this color may remind you of MAC’s Trax which happens to be one of my favorite shadows of all time.  It’s not a dupe – but does remind me of the shade.  It’s a warm-toned plumy pink shade with gorgeous gold and pink glitter.  This particular shadow has a true Metallic finish and the gold and pink glitter really shine when applied.  Like most of Colourpop’s metallic shadows, I didn’t notice the glitter fall out and the glitter definitely lasted on the lid.
  • Mirage – this gorgeous soft sage green has a champagne gold sheen and a pearlized finish.  I find that it makes a beautiful inner corner of the eyes highlight or all over the lid shade.
  • Hot Tamale is a gorgeous shade for those summer beachy smoky eyes.  It is a reddish brown with soft copper sparkles and has a satin luxe finish.  I love to use this shade as an outer v color where I deepen the eye look for a little drama.

Colourpop Mondays in Malibu Collection

I say this with each collection I have purchased from Colourpop – but if you haven’t tried anything from the brand yet and are looking for something you can start with – I think this collection definitely would make a great addition to any makeup addict’s stash.  While there are no mattes included with this six, I feel like you can easily put together a gorgeous look without it.  Each color on their own is gorgeous but placed on the lid together and you’ll have a gorgeous creation I’m sure.  Like with most Colourpop shadows, those in this collection have long lasting power on the lid and over a primer I can get a good 8-10 hours of wear.  Also – application is best when applied with your finger, but I find that since I’m always on the go, Colourpop’s shadows make for a great look that I can apply using my fingers – no need to worry about pulling out and dirtying my brushes.

So – have you been eyeing up this collection?  What do you think about these shades, are they your cup of tea? As soon as I have looks up using these, I’ll be sure to post here.  Have a wonderful week! xo
