A few months ago I posted a review with swatches on four of the new NYX Butter Lipsticks in Razzle, Hot Tamale, Big Cherry and Pops.  Since I loved them so much, I decided to pick up a few more and placed an order on NYX’s website for Fizzies, Cotton Candy, Hubba Bubba, Hunk and Bit of Honey.  After using these the last couple of months, I decided I would do some swatches in case anyone was interested in the shades I purchased… especially since when I ordered them, I expected them to be a bit different then how they arrived.  Some of the shades were much lighter and darker than I had expected.

NYX Butter Lipsticks

The butter lipsticks retail for $6.00 on NYX’s website and come in 22 shades.  Just like I stated in my first review, the NYX Butter Lipsticks feel great on the lips and are moisturizing.  But I think some of these shades feel a bit different on the lips and when it comes to coverage, the lighter shades seem to sink into the lines of my lips unlike the original four colors I tried out.

NYX Butter Lipsticks Swatches

In the swatch photo above, you can see that Hubba Bubba has a slight frost to it – since it does have a light amount of shimmer in the lipstick.  Because of this, I was a little disappointed at how my lips looked when I used this shade and I do not use it often.  On the website – Cotton Candy and Hubba Bubba lend for a more wearable shade so I was surprised to see it so Barbie Pink when they arrived.  I do like Fizzies, though it is not a shade I will use often – it does match my skin tone and Hunk and Bit of Honey are also ones I enjoy too.

NYX Butter Lipstick Swatches

Have you tried the NYX Butter lipsticks?  While I do love some of these new ones I received, I think the only favorites out of this bunch would be Hunk and Fizzies.  The others just seem too white for me to wear on its own… but hey, that is what gloss and liner is for.  I’ll still find a way to make it work.  If you want to see swatches on the other Butter lipsticks I reviewed – don’t forget to click here.  If you tried any of these lipsticks and have favorites – please comment below and let me know, I would love to check them out and see if they will match me.

Have a wonderful week!

Clarity Organic Vitamin C Serum

Have you tried using a Vitamin C serum before?  Over the last year I have had the opportunity to try out some cool skin care products and it has had me on a Serum kick lately.  I have been using the Clarity Organic Vitamin C Serum with E + Hyaluronic Acid the last few weeks and I am LOVING IT.  I am 34 years young and have really been doing everything I can to improve my skin – especially since I have severe Eczema and sensitive skin naturally.  Trying out different products can leave my face screaming and trying to run in a different direction or happy and excited to reapply.  I am absolutely loving this Vitamin C Serum and I know my skin is loving it too.

Clarity Vitamin C Serum antioxidant blend features Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid, and Herbal Extracts, shown to smooth the skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and treat dark spots. Stimulate collagen production for radiant and youthful looking skin.

The formula contains ingredients like Vitamin C and Vitamin E that have been shown to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It is easy and fast to apply, and used regularly, it can prevent damage to your skin and keep it looking young and radiant for many years to come.

Clarity Organic Vitamin C Serum

This Vitamin C Serum is clear and liquid like in texture – not thick at all.  I use approximately 5 drops of this product each morning and apply it before my other skincare products, but after cleansing.  After putting 5 drops into my clean hand, I rub my hands together and then apply to my clean/dry face, neck and décolleté areas.  Once I apply – I wait a minute or so for the product to soak into my skin and then apply my other daily serums and moisturizer.  Used in combination with some of my favorite skincare products, I have noticed that my skin is not only brighter, but smoother and while I do have wrinkles, I also noticed that they have softened quite a bit since I began using this product.

Clarity ORganic Vitamin C Serum

Skin care products can range in cost and this serum retails for $39.95.  You will receive a 3 FL OZ bottle with a dropper that will make application simple and quick.  I love that this product is pretty affordable considering the benefits and I have used a few Vitamin C Serums in the past that were much more costly.

As I mentioned previously, I have very sensitive skin and many products on the market that will work wonders for others will drive my skin absolutely insane.  After using this product for a few weeks, I haven’t noticed or experienced any break outs, flare ups or irritations from using the product.  I am quite pleased with what it has done for my skin in combination with other products in such a short time frame.

Spring/Summer Makeup Tutorial

While we have still been experiencing some pretty heavy rain the last week, I’m super happy that Spring is in full swing… (pardon me while I stop and do my Carlton Dance. lol)  I love Fall and Winter months because Hawaii is cooler versus the warm weather we have year round, but this past Fall/Winter it seems like the rain and cold was non-stop and my skin really didn’t enjoy being so dry. lol  Regardless, I am just happy that I can live and experience the great things life has to offer – so I’ll take whatever I can get.

Alright – enough with the rambling.  I was inspired to create this Pink/Purple and Orange look because the top I’m wearing is a Creamsicle shade with Fuchsia silk screening.  And, since the hair flower I chose for that day had purple in it – I figured that I found the look I wanted to rock out.  This look is super easy to create and the key to it really is all about the blending.  While the colors are bold, the look I created still had a softness to it that anyone can pull off.  I hope you all enjoy this Spring Summer Makeup tutorial that I have created.

Aloha from Hawaii Makeup tutorial

When I think of Teal and Turquoise colors, Hawaii’s beaches always come to mind.  I was very excited to get the Bora Bora Quad from Be A Bombshell in my March Ipsy Glam Bag.  The colors in the palette remind me of Hawaii and the beach and the summers I spent as a child and teen surfing the waves.  Blues also remind me very much of the Island sunsets that I have experienced in my life… and I wanted to do a fun look utilizing the colors in the palette that incorporated all of these awesome memories.  Since it’s been a bit on the chilly side here, I wanted to do a look that reminded me of Spring and Summer and this is what I came up with.  I hope you all enjoy this Hawaii Inspired Spring Summer Look.

Hawaii Inspired Makeup

Styling this look was fun and of course – since I live in Hawaii, it was easy to do.  I added a little twist to it however… instead of using a traditional Hawaiian flower in my haku (head lei in Hawaiian), I opted to utilize one of my fun floral crowns that I got from Claire’s.  It gave it a nice twist on the look and added a gorgeous pop of yellow against the blues that I applied to my eyes.  My strapless tube dress is in black and from Jeans Warehouse (a local boutique).

Hawaiian Inspired Makeup

I hope you enjoyed this Hawaii Spring/Summer Inspired look.  Creating this reminded me of all the years I danced hula as a little girl and really made me think of my childhood.  I’m not going to lie… while sometimes I wish that I lived elsewhere, Hawaii will always be my home.  I really wanted to take photos of this look while I was at the beach, but the weather has been so funky here lately that I was just thankful that I could go outside to get a few photos of the look 😉  Thank you so much for reading & watching!  “Aloha from Hawaii!”

Today you are You, that is truer than true.

There is no one alive who is Youer than You.

I haven’t done an inspirational post in a quite a few… and I will be picking up the slack and doing them again more often – promise! 😉  I was trying to figure out what Quote I wanted to use today, but just couldn’t figure it out.  Luckily, I have an awesome Organizer that has quotes on each day and today’s quote hit it right on the money.  In the age of technology, social media and cyber bullying… we can often forget who we are as a person and when we do remember, we may want to forget.  But, know that in a World filled with adversity and challenge, you are the only person who knows you best… so BE YOU!

Have a wonderful rest of your week!  I hope you enjoy Thursday’s Inspirational Quote.
