I must admit, I’m a terrible blogger sometimes.  For example – I have been sitting on these beautiful products from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics for months now, and I’m only getting around to writing and featuring them now.  Life tends to get the best of me and I find myself consistently playing catch up on many things.  But, the plus side to waiting months to write about these gorgeous cosmetics, is that I have had the chance to really try them out, test them out and really figure out how they work for me.  Today I share with you a look I created using some of the products from Youngblood Cosmetics as well as swatches of the products I received.  This is a brand that you may read about in the blogger realm, but it is not talked about much in the YouTube community.  I’m not sure why – the products… they’re gorgeous.

After years of working with patients who suffered from traumatized skin from harsh laser treatments, acne, rosacea and cosmetic surgeries, Pauline Youngblood decided it was time to create a line of cosmetics that were not just mineral based, but good for the skin.  Youngblood provides the healthiest, highest quality products while empowering women to look and feel their best.

So let’s chit chat about some of the products I’ve been testing out and using and my thoughts on each one.  I love when I can try a range of products from a brand and since I has not tried anything from Youngblood Cosmetics before, this was my opportunity to see what they had to offer.

The Pressed Mineral Eye Shadow Quad in Shanghai Nights ($43.00) comes with 4 gorgeously pigmented eye shadows and a Net Wt. of .14 oz / 4g.  The four complementary shades come in a sleek and stylish mirrored compact and are perfect for your vanity or on the go.  I love that each compact comes ready for a look and includes matte, pearl and shimmery finishes that blend perfectly together.  There are 7 different eye shadow quads to choose from so you can easily find one that will be perfect to suit your style.

I tend to gravitate to warm shades vs cooler tones, but I really enjoyed using this palette.  The shade range offered you everything from a crease and transition shade to a lid and browbone / highlight shade all in one palette.  Each color feels like silk and applies easily.  I especially love that they are mineral based, but they are in pressed form which make using these really easy.  Used over a primer I can easily get hours of wear out of the shades – I wore them for at least 8 hours over a primer and they lasted and was as vibrant as ever.  The compact is well made with a sturdy magnetic closure so this makes for a great palette for travel.

The Youngblood Cosmetics Eye-Mazing Liquid Liner Pen in Noir ($26.00 Net Wt. 0.59 mL/0.02 fl.oz.) is Vegan and a showstopper.  This liner has a precision tip and offers great control and beautiful bold color in one swipe.  I love a great liquid liner with a tip that will allow me to create a wing easily and this is definitely it.  The liner dries quickly and stays put for hours.  Even with my watery eyes, I found that I could wear this eye liner all day without smudging.  I was quite impressed with its staying power and loved the precision point.  But what I love the most is that creating the perfect wing was easy with this liner, it applies nicely and made my job perfection.

If you are looking for a liquid eye liner that is easy to use and control with bold color in one swipe and no streaking, I think you’ll definitely enjoy this one.  I love that it’s so long wearing and perfect to create a thick or thin line.

The Intimatte Mineral Matte Lipstick in Vain ($19.00 – Net Wt. 4g. / 0.14oz) is also Vegan.  I have a beautiful burgundy shade that is an absolute show stopper.  I can’t wait to really get some use out of this color during the Fall and Winter months.  This lip color is super-rich and provide high-impact payoff with ultra pigmentation.

This color is bold, so I would love to see how vibrant the more neutral shades are.  From what I can see on the site, there are 9 shades available and all in beautiful tones from pinks and nudes to plums, corals and reds.  There is a shade for everyone.  Vain was absolutely comfortable on the lips.  While it is a matte shade, it was very comfortable on my lips and left my lips still feeling hydrated and moisturized.  The formulation on this lip color is awesome.  Like with most lipsticks, they do come off with drinking or eating – but where time offered quite a few hours on its own and I love that my lips were so soft after removing it.

Youngblood Mineral Radiance in Splendor is probably one of my favorite product sin the bunch I have tried.  Retailing for $43.00 (Net Wt. 9.5g / 0.335 oz.) the compact includes Vegan and Gluten Free products and is an absolutely gorgeous product.  These products represent a mesh of colors that are reminiscent of a tropical vacation and used together on your face or body or individually will give you a great and wonderful glow.

Each shade in this compact is gorgeous.  I love to pick out the colors I want to use and use them separately on my cheeks or as a highlight and when I’m feeling like I want to go bold and shimmery, I swirl my brush over all the shades to create a gorgeous shade.  This compact is super pigmented and offers rich color with lots of great staying power.  If I apply this over a primer or use on its own – I get great lasting power for hours without needing to touch up.  I love blushes with a golden hue and a few of these shades have a gold sheen offering the perfect glow on my cheeks.  I can build up the color for a punch of pow or lightly tap my brush into the compact for a soft summer glow.

My entire look (above) was created using the Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics I featured in this look (with exception to my eyebrows).  These photos were taken with my phone (as with all of the images on my blog lately) and as you can see – the colors are soft but gorgeous.  The lips are bold, but still wearable.

The wing liner in my look was done using the Eye-Mazing Liquid Liner Pen, which I absolutely LOVE.  And, I am looking forward to trying out many more cosmetics from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.  Overall – I think the quality of these products are superb and I love how they feel against the skin.  I have naturally sensitive skin, dry and eczema prone so some cosmetics can really dry out my eyelids or cause my skin funky flareups.  I love a product line that offers quality ingredients and great products.  Yes, the price point on their products are quite high – but considering the quality and “good for your skin” feel you get when using these gorgeous products, I would buy them in a heartbeat.

I can’t wait to order and try more products from Youngblood Cosmetics.  I find that I pull for this brand’s products often because I don’t have to think about what to pair with my eye shadows – I have the colors I want and need for a soft summer look without having to overthink the whole situation.  If you are a blush and highlight lover like I am – I highly suggest checking out the Youngblood Mineral Radiance Compacts – they come in a few gorgeous colors for you to choose from.  And, if you are looking for a great liquid liner – check out the Eye-Mazing Liquid Liner Pen.  Heck, check out all of their cosmetics, I know you’ll enjoy them as much as I have.

It seems like it’s been quite a while since I’ve shown my face in a makeup look or tutorial or anything along those lines.  As much as I love makeup, I love a bare face so much more and besides a little tinted lip color or lip balm and some mascara, I haven’t been really using much makeup lately.  With the boys out on Summer break and I feeling like a needed a little refresh, I figured I would pull out some makeup products I haven’t touched in a while and a few that I have been loving and bronze the heck out of my face while adding some glow and a little pop of color.  My GRWM video which you can click and watch here (also embedded below) is quite long since I’m chatting and talking it up like girlfriends do, so if you want the shorter version, just keep reading.  If you want to come hang out with me and talk story for 30 minutes or so, hey, grab something to drink – cup of joe or a glass of somethin’ and click play.

Like most of my makeup looks, I didn’t really give it any thought and just pulled at different cosmetics to create something I knew was functional and that I could use during the day.  It seems like a really long time since I utilized my Milani Bella Eyes Gel Shadows, so I figured I would grab those and make use of them.  Frankly, I just really wanted to use Bella Khaki – it’s such a gorgeous color and I just don’t use it as much as I should.  If you are looking for a soft pop of color, a shade like Bella Khaki is gorgeous for that kind of look – it’s a gorgeous green with a light gold shift so it works really well with a bronze or neutral eye look.

This eye look may require some additional layering, but it’s very easy to create and I love that you really can’t screw it up – it’s all about layering and blending.  You can certainly use this look without lashes and it would still be very wearable for every day – but since my lashes are pretty much non-existent, well – it was a given that I pop some wispies on and call it a day.

** The photos were taken with my phone, so I hope they offer a good visual for anyone reading.  Video also filmed with my phone.

That’s pretty much it.  The look is simple and easy to create and like I mentioned earlier, I do have a video that walks you through the steps if you’re interested in learning how I did it.  It’s a long one as I chat about my life at the moment and explain each step – so if you’re interested in hanging out with me, grab your favorite drink and watch the video embedded above or click here to watch directly on YouTube.

I have talked about the brand Billion Dollar Brows several times in the past… and for good reason, I truly enjoy their products.  I have tried different types and was so excited to be given the opportunity to try out their newest product, the Billion Dollar Brows, Brows On Point Micro Pencil.  Today I’ll share with you swatches, my thoughts and more on this pretty cool product from a brand I have enjoyed the last several years.

The Brows On Point Micro Brow Pencils are waterproof and retail for $16.00 – available in 4 shades.  This brow product has been my go-to for my brows over the last 3 – 4 weeks and I have been enjoying it tremendously.  These awesome brow pencils are dual-ended, one side being the retractable and twist-up pencil and the other side a spoolie to help brush through your brows.  The pencil is so small that it allows you to create hair like brush strokes with precision but not too small that it gets lost in the movement and you have to work extra hard to make sure that the parts you filled in can’t be seen.  I love a good mechanical pencil (seriously – I have no time for sharpening) and this brow pencil has a super-fine self-sharpening tip which makes use a breeze.

The four colors available – Blonde, Light Brown, Taupe and Raven are not only a great selection for those different color hair, but it allows you to custom create the shade that works for you.  Blending and layering your pencils is easy to create the color that would suit your hair right.  I tend to use Taupe on it’s own but like to blend in a little of Raven for defining my brows more and giving them shape or Light Brown when I want my brows to look put together, but very natural.  Each shade is versatile and really allows you to customize the colors to fit your needs.

Did I mention that the formula is waterproof and smudge proof?  The formula of these pencils are creamy but firm and glide on with ease.  Again, they allow you to create tiny brow hairs when filling in your brows and the waterproof formula lasts all day.  I can put these on in the morning and still have “brows on point” for the entire day until I take my makeup off at night.  While I haven’t tried going into the ocean or pool to test these out… I can tell you that my stay-all-day brows literally keep it’s color and look great for many hours – even with the hot weather here in Hawaii.

I have mentioned the brand Billion Dollar Brows here on my blog many times as many of the products from the line are ones that I use daily as a part of my brow routine.  I was really look forward to trying something like this – thin enough for me to use (since their other brow pencil is a little thicker) and would last all day.  I’ve been enjoying it the last several weeks and really love how it has improved my every day brow routine.  Using this brow pencil is quick and painless… Literally fill in my brows, brush in place if need and set with my Billion Dollar Brows Brow Gel and I’m good to go.

brows, billion dollar brows, brows on point, makeup, beauty, demo, swatches, review, beauty review,

The photo above is of me showing off my brows in my Snapchat.  I just LOVE this product.  I have naturally full brows with lots of brow hair and often times some products can make me look too done up or make my brows look too bold.  Some brow products require you use a light hand or some practice to get it right and a good brow pencil should have those issues.  I can literally just scribble them on (haha – don’t scribble on your brows like me) and I’m good to go.  Of course, if I wanted to go bolder, I always have that option – but I love when a product allows me to wear it as I normally would and just gives my every day a look a little something extra.

Overall – after using several of the Billion Dollar Brows products, I can honestly say that I really enjoy the Brows on Point micro brow pencils.  I really enjoy them, love their longevity and staying power and love the size of them.  These pencils are great for travel because they are small – but you still get a lot of product considering the price you pay.  What makes them the best in my opinion is that I don’t have to worry about my brows getting dry or flaking like many other brow products can do and they wear well on me.  These are definitely going to be products I’ll continue to purchase and buy over the years.

You can purchase these products as well as others I have mentioned and discussed from Billion Dollar Brows here.

Have you tried these products or anything from BDB before?  If so, what did you think about them and if not, are these products you think you would want to check out.  Comment down below and let your girl know.

I have been doing really well on my Makeup Spending Challenge (you can read more about it here) so that is why you haven’t been seeing many posts on new cosmetics lately.  However, when I got the email for ColourPop’s Spring release, I literally couldn’t contain my excitement and I couldn’t resist.  I was particularly taken by one of the five shades so I figured I would get at least four for my collection.  Now, if you have been following me a while – you know that when it comes to ColourPop I have quite an addiction – especially for the shadows… so I knew it would be a warranted purchase… lol.

spring haul, colourpop, colourpop super shock shadows, eye shadow, colourpop eye shadow, flower shop, belladonna lily, luckfully, wattles, spring eye shadow, makeup, beauty, swatches,

The colors I choose and ordered were:  Luckfully, Wattles, Flower Shop and Belladonna Lilly.  When I seen Belladonna Lily I thought instantly of my friend Beth (Pearlznlacebybeth.com) because she wears that type of shade so nicely and of course, Flower Shop was a love at first site.  Let’s take a deeper look at each shade, shall we?

spring haul, colourpop, colourpop super shock shadows, eye shadow, colourpop eye shadow, flower shop, belladonna lily, luckfully, wattles, spring eye shadow, makeup, beauty, swatches,

Luckfully is a bright cobalt blue with a pearlized finish.  It’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect for deepening out the crease or used all over the lid for a stunning look.  This shadow does stain the lids a little though… so I would suggest using an eye shadow primer underneath and prior to applying the shadow to your eyes lids.

Wattles is described as a dusty beige pink in a satin finish.  I actually think the color reminds me of a dusty rose with a brown undertone… but that’s just me putting in my own input.  This is a gorgeous shadow to use in the crease or as a transition shade and also works well on the lid or blended onto the lower lash line.  It has a gorgeous sheen that looks like it has a bit of shimmer, but not glittery.

Flower shop is my favorite out of the four.  It reminds me of MAC’s steamy, though I would not consider it a dupe, it just reminds me of it.  It is described as a vibrant blue green with a soft gold pearl on top and a pearlized finish.  To me, it reminds me of a mermaid or her tail.  It’s a gorgeous shade of teal and turquoise blend with a gold/silver shift… or at least, that’s my take on it.

Belladonna Lily is a gorgeous pastel shade.  Described as a soft pastel aqua in a matte finish – this shadow would make a great base for Flower Shop or used on it’s own.  It has that pastel but powdery aqua look and feel to it and would be one of those shades perfect for Spring.  Used with Wattles or any of the other shades I picked up, I think this would make a great addition to any eye look this Spring or Summer.

spring haul, colourpop, colourpop super shock shadows, eye shadow, colourpop eye shadow, flower shop, belladonna lily, luckfully, wattles, spring eye shadow, makeup, beauty, swatches,

If you are like me and love a great teal shade, I highly suggest picking up Flower Shop.  I have mentioned this quite a few times already, but it is my favorite color out of the four I picked up.  I don’t have any eye looks to share with you at this time, but I cant’ wait to share some with you once I start feeling a little better, so stay tuned for those.

Also – stop by and check out the LIVE swatches and more on my YouTube Channel. Video embedded below or you can click here to watch directly on YouTube.

Are you a ColourPop eye shadow addict like me?  Have you seen these shadows and do you plan on picking any of them up?  If so, what shades do you have your eyes on?
