My goal is to bring awareness to this campaign while sharing with you the details so that we can get at least 2500 unites of WINK to these charities to get through 2017. When it comes to lashes, I’ve said it time and time again… but I really wasn’t included in that distribution. I always joke around about it, but apparently I was absent when they were handing out long luscious lashes and I was left with what I have on my eyes now. All kidding aside though, my lashes are small, thin and very difficult to see… so any type of product that can help enhance them naturally or give them a little more pizzazz, I’m up to trying. Recently Pixi Beauty sent me some fun mascaras and lash products to give a go and today I’m sharing my thoughts with all of you on each one. Let’s get started shall we?
Over the years, I have tried several products from Pixi, but I don’t recall trying any of their mascaras, so this was quite exciting for me to give them a try and see how they worked for me. I’ve had these mascaras now for over a month and I’m finally comfortable providing my thoughts on each one.
Pixi products (like these mascaras) can be found online at Pixibeauty.com or via Target which is where I like to buy my Pixi products. There are four mascaras that I had the opportunity to try. The Black Lacquer Lash Primer, Lash Booster Mascara, Lengthy Fiber Mascara and Lower Lash Mascara.
The Black Lacquer Lash Primer retails for $15.00 and comes in a jet black formula. This lash primer is a multi-use product that helps to plump, protect and prep your lashes for your favorite mascara. It has a thick mousse-like consistency which I like and it applies fairly easily to my lashes. Since it has a smaller brush that has a curve, it easily gets to all of my itty bitty lashes and coats them nicely. I like that this lash primer doesn’t irritate my eyes, since many primers can do so and it applies without any clumping. This product works well with layering other lash products so I do enjoy it for that reason and it doesn’t smudge if used on its own.
The Pixi Beauty Lash Booster Mascara retails for $15.00 as well. It comes in Blackest Blue or Blackest Black (I have blackest blue) and while you could be a little worried about a blue mascara, it’s such a dark shade that it doesn’t look blue on the lashes. The shade itself really brings out my brown eyes. This mascara is said to be the “do-it-all” mascara that curls, defines, lengthens and thickens but leaves behind a glossy and waterproof finish. It has a standard mascara wand, but one that is stiff, dense and small enough to coat all of my lashes for a showstopping look.
I love how my eyes sparkle with this mascara, it’s not a favorite, but it gets the job as the description promises. Since I have pin straight and thin lashes, I do have to curl my lashes, but the formula of this mascara helps my lashes hold their curl. It offers my lashes length and thickness without clumping and it doesn’t smudge, budge or move on me. I will say though, I was pretty impressed at how easy this mascara came off with my micellar water. Even if it is said to have a waterproof finish, I didn’t have to scrub my eyes to remove the product at the end of the day.
The Lengthy Fiber Mascara retails for $16.00 and comes in a black formula. This mascara enhances and elongates lashes with its fiber filled formulation. I haven’t been a fan of fiber mascaras over the last couple of years because my eyes have been so sensitive, so I was a bit worried to try this one out. Immediately after removing the want from it’s tube, I noticed the fibers on the brush (as you can see from the image above). I was terribly worried that it would affect me and took my time applying this mascara.
With a few swipes of this mascara onto my lashes, I noticed a huge difference in how long my lashes had looked. This mascara is a bit different than your traditional fiber mascara in that you apply it over another mascara, versus a traditional fiber mascara in that you apply it beneath a mascara. Once I figured out how to get it to work, it seems to work fairly well.
With any fiber mascara, it can irritate the eyes if the fibers poke your eyes or get into your waterline, but once I was able to figure out how to make it work for me, I haven’t had any issues and I really enjoy it. My lashes look fuller and longer and while I did get irritation in my eyes the first time, now that I know how to apply it, I haven’t had any issues.
Pixi Beauty’s Lower Lash Mascara retails for $11.00. This mascara comes with a specialized slim brush that has short bristles to help effortlessly coat lower lashes and hard-to-reach small lashes. It has a water-resistant formula which makes it great for the lower lashes and if formulated with vitamin E and panthenol to help the product stay all day – especially on sensitive and runny eyes like mine.
Since I have naturally short lashes, I find this mascara to be my favorite out of the four. You never think you need a “lower lash” mascara but when you try this, you’ll surely see why it was created. This mascara and brush wand help to really elongate my lower lashes and separate them easily. This formula allows the mascara to stay all day without any smudging which I love, even with my water eyes and I love that I can use this mascara to help with clumping. I apply one thin coat of this mascara to my upper lashes prior to my other mascaras to make sure that I grab all the little lashes that are hard to reach. This really makes a difference in how my lashes look.
I love that Pixi Beauty offers a unique collection of mascaras. Since I naturally have short lashes, I tend to layer my mascaras to create a customized effect that will allow my lashes to be seen. These four mascaras layer nicely together and work well to create the layers I’m looking for. You can decide to use each mascara together and layer them or use separately to create your perfect lash look.
Overall, if I had to choose my favorite out of the four mascaras that I’ve tried, I think the LowerLash Mascara would be my fave. It grabs all my little lashes on my lower and top lashes to create a great look. But all of them work well and provide a great combination when used together. Even the Lengthy Fiber Mascara impressed me. I highly suggest checking them out if you are looking to try something new.

It’s simple, shiny packaging with a Copper Gold logo imprinted on the cover, but I love it… very sleek and chic. I received the Mineral Silk Radiance Powder, Signature Eye Shadow Quad in Hypnotic and Creamy Blush in Sangria. Raul E New York offers a variety of cosmetic items to create a stunning and powerful look… from eye shadows to cream liners, lipsticks to gloss and everything in between – you get a wide variety to choose from and can create a whole look from base to highlight with this brand.
Our designer, Silvana Penavić prides herself in offering an elegant, timeless and classy selection of mineral based makeups. Silvana understands first hand just how important is to use makeup that supports balance & harmony in one’s daily life, which in turn promotes conscious living.
You can consider this brand to have a highend price point. Their single shadows are $24 each, mascaras are $30 each and their mineral liquid powder foundation is $44, so the costs are what you would expect to spend for a highend cosmetic line. Raul E New York also sells apparel and clothing, gifts, etc. so it is a brand that offers a variety of products at your finger tips.
Let’s talk highlight since it’s one of my favorite cosmetic products. The Mineral Silk Radiance Powder $44 (net wt. 0.28oz / 8g) comes in two different shades. I got the shade Seychelles. This gorgeous mineral powder has become one of my favorites over the last few months (I’ve had these cosmetics in my possession now for a few months) and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it. It has a floral embossment that offers different shades that you can either pick individually to use or swirl your brush all together to create a different shade. I absolutely love how silky this powder feels on the skin and how nicely it wears. It offers my tan skin tone a gorgeous highlight that can either be showstopping or soft and subtle depending on how heavy handed I am.

The Mineral Silk Radiance Powder applies smoothly onto the skin and blends out well but it can leave glittery shimmer on the skin. It’s not the type that will leave much fall out and doesn’t feel gritty, but it will enhance lines as you can see in my photo above. I highly suggest using a light hand when applying this product for that soft and “lit from within” kind of glow. The radiance powder is quite pigmented and a little goes a long way. Tap your brush into the product and swirl – then tap your brush before applying to the face to dust off some excess product. Apply to the cheek bones for a gorgeous glow.
Next is the Signature Eye Shadow Quad in Hynotic $44 (net wt. 0.25 oz / 7g). This particular quad is gorgeous… though Raul E New York offers the quads in four different shade ranges (including this one). The colors offer a selection of four shades that can create a gorgeous look of greens and golds. I particularly loved this color range because greens are so gorgeous year round and something that can play up any eye look. Each shade is shimmery so you do not have any matte colors, but creating a look is simple.
The colors are very pigmented and gorgeous. They can be used wet or dry and apply with gorgeous color in one swipe. Because these are mineral shadows, they can kick up a bit of dust (especially since they are shimmer), but they pack on the eye lid really nicely, blend out well and have great longevity over a primer. I love the colors in this quad because you can opt to use one of the green shades all over the lid, in the crease or on the lower lash line as a pop of color. They are gorgeous and offer bold color but can also be used as wearable shades for an every day look.

The Raul E New York Creamy Blush $29 (net wt. 0.10 oz. / 2.8g) is a gorgeous blush. I have mine in Sangria which is a lovely shade, especially for my particular skin tone. I LOVE that it has golden shimmer within, but the cream blush is very comfortable on the cheeks, blends well and leaves my skin with a gorgeous rose hue for a soft pop on the cheeks. You can build the color up as you see the need for more pigment or use naturally for a little touch of color on the skin. This cream blush really is creamy and feels so wonderful to the touch. I love to apply this with my fingers and the blend or use a small stippling brush like my ELF Small Stippling brush to stipple the color on and blend it to look effortless. This is a great blush for me to use year round and Raul E New York offers four gorgeous shades to choose from.
You can easily have all day wear with this cream blush if used over a primer or over your foundation. I found that it faded on me after about 6 hours on my bare face. The blush itself is quite pigmented but offers a sheen from the gold shimmer. The shimmer looks very nice, not cakey or glittery so the blush can be used on its own to add some color to the cheeks and illuminate your cheekbones as well.

Choosing which of the three products I’ve tried from Raul E New York as my favorite would be a bit of a challenge. I enjoy all of them, but I think I like the Mineral Silk Radiance Powder the best. Let’s be honest here, we all know that when it comes to highlight… I love to glow and highlighters are some of my favorite makeup products. I have been enjoying the cream blush to use on its own or under a powder blush and I really think the eye shadow quad has gorgeous shades.
The cosmetics I’ve tried so far are quite nice and I’ve been enjoying them. They are a bit on the costly side, but considering the quality I think it’s fairly reasonable. They are definitely not Yves St Laurent or Tom Ford, but if you are looking for quality mineral based products, I would check them out. It’s a little high on the price scale than what I would pay – even if the quality is nice, but overall I think I’ve tried some really good products from the brand. It’s nice to see that there are so many cosmetic brands out now that offer mineral cosmetics. I love when products feel great on the skin and are good for you too.

I know that Summer is coming to an end shortly, but let’s face it, we can use water resistant cosmetics year round – not just during the summer months. One of my favorite brands offering a variety of water resistant products is Cargo Cosmetics. Cargo Swimmables collection includes an array of products for anyone and offers great color and high pigmentation for those that are active or just looking for longevity in their makeup. I’ve been a huge fan of this collection over the years and I’m excited to share a few of my favorites with all of you today.
The Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush (0.10 oz / 2.83g – $26.00) and Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer (0.45 oz / 13g – $29.00) are some of my favorites from the collection. They are blushes and bronzers I have repurchased time and time again over the last 6 years or so and some of my favorites in my entire makeup arsenal.
The Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush offers you color that won’t streak or fade and provide you with long lasting sweat-proof and weatherproof color on your cheeks. I have Bali (a medium rose pink with an iridescent sheen) which is newly added to my collection and Los Cabos (soft tangerine with a coral hue and golden sheen). I have had Los Cabos for over a year and have purchased it several times for friends that love coral toned blushes. You get a lot of product in each pan and it is so pigmented a little goes a long way. Los Cabos offers my cheeks that beautiful glow I love to wear during the summer and is a perfect “every day” blush choice for me. The powder is silky and has a formula that glides onto the skin for a subtle wash of color that you can easily build up to the intensity you are interested in. While it appears sheer with one swatch or swipe, you can manipulate the powder easily to provide the coverage you are looking for.

The Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer is a silky powder formula that also glides over the skin for a subtle radiant glow. It is one of my favorite bronzers I own and in fact, I have 4 different bronzers in my collection from Cargo because I always enjoy them. This bronzer will not streak or fade, is sweat-proof and waterproof too. It’s natural looking and doesn’t look orange on my skin or change color or oxidize like some bronzers have done to me in the past. It’s comfortable on and I love that it has a golden sheen to it. This is not the type of bronzer I would suggest or use for contouring, but it gives my face and body a sunkissed glow that makes me look like a goddess. It’s one of my favorite bronzers for a reason and I love it.

The Cargo Better Than Waterproof Mascara was something definitely fun for me to try. Retailing for $20.00 (0.33 fl.oz. / 10 mL), I honestly wasn’t sure how I would like this product. If you know anything about me, it’s that I prefer waterproof mascaras (though I don’t use them all the time) because my allergies are so bad, a normal mascara usually doesn’t stay in place all day for me. This mascara states it is “better than waterproof!” So I honestly wasn’t sure about the claims… until I tried it. This is truly a water resistant mascara but still gentle enough to be worn on my eyes every day. It stays put and in place all day long. Now, I haven’t gone swimming with this mascara yet – but let’s just say, my sweat was rough enough the last few weeks to really give this a good test.
The wand is really basic so I didn’t think it would offer my lashes much of anything… but it did give me some volume and length. This is the kind of mascara I would particularly select when at the pool or going to the beach and want to make my lashes stand out without putting on a full face of makeup. It offers a tubing formulation which allows the mascara to stay put during the day, but yet it is easily removed with warm water or gentle pressure. I was able to remove the mascara with my Garnier Micellar Water (the regular one) and my Simple Micellar Water without any issues. No heavy eye makeup remover or oil based remover was needed. No smudging or running and long lasting awesomeness all day long. I would love to see this formulation with a different wand aimed specifically to help with length and volume too. The formulation is also quite black which make it stand out nicely on my short lashes.
As most people know, I’m a fanatic for colored eye liners and these Cargo Swimmables Eye Pencils (net wt. 0.04 oz / 1.2g – $18.00) are quite the find. I have six of the twelve shades available from the line. Each pencil is creamy (very creamy), waterproof and smudge proof with a formula that glides on with ease. This product claims that it can last up to 14 hours and while I can only attest to 10 hours of total wear, I do love that they last that long. I have very watery eyes so a product that can hold up to my teary and watery eyes while still looking vibrant is wonderful. I love that I can wear the shades on my waterline and they stay without budging.

I haven’t particularly worn these in the pool or ocean and haven’t gone swimming with them but they lasted 10+ hours without the need to touch up through my sweaty days and allergy prone watery eyes without an issue. I just love how small the tip is and how easy it is to get a precise line, especially since the formula is so creamy, it makes it easy to wear and apply. Once you apply and let it set, it will stay all day until you take it off. You can sharpen your pencil (I like twist up pencils better but I’ll take it) and it’s paraben free.
Now, I couldn’t possibly leave out the lippies so I would also like to share with you the Cargo Essential Lip Glosses (0.08 oz / 2.5mL – $16.00) available in 15 shades. I have three of them in the colors: Rio, Sahara and Belgium. Now, if you have been following me a while, then you know I am not a huge fan of lip glosses and I have my select favorites. These essential lip glosses actually amazed me in that I didn’t expect to like them as much as I do. They are creamy and moisturizing with a formula that glides over the lips easily and doesn’t feel sticky at all.
Super high shine lip gloss delivers intense, lasting color! The creamy, moisturizing formula glides over lips, and most importantly it never feels sticky. I’m really liking how these feel on my lips and most importantly, I love how they are not sticky so it makes wearing them easy to do. Since I haven’t been using matte lippies at all this summer, I’ve been enjoying pairing Sahara with my favorite nude lipsticks to give them a little shine. These seem to last fairly long on the lips which is a plus and they are also gluten-free and paraben free.

If you’re not into gloss that much or need a great lip liner, don’t worry – I got you covered. The Cargo Swimmables Lip Pencil (0.04 oz / 1.2g – $18.00) is a long lasting pencil that offers great lip definition, high pigmentation and is waterproof. It’s pretty long lasting in my opinion. I love that it sharpens, it’s soft on the lips and applies very easily and I haven’t noticed any feathering or transfer providing me long lasting color. Through eating and drinking, I have really noticed how long this lasts so it would make a great base for your favorite lip color. I also love that it sharpens which is a big plus. I have the color Jaipur which is a nice mauve rose hue that seems to pair well with many of the lip colors I already own and I’ve been enjoying it this summer.
Well, that’s all I have to share with you today. I have a new palette I ordered from Cargo not too long ago and hope to share that with you here as well. Overall, I’m always impressed with Cargo Cosmetics and the products they offer. I have purchased products from Cargo off and on over the years and I’ve always been a fan of their quality. It’s a shame you don’t hear as much about them as you would other brands, but if you are looking for some great quality products or something new to try, I highly suggest checking them out. I have been a fan of theirs for over 6 years and it’s always good to see when a brand keeps the quality and improves for the better in time.

A few days ago I shared a review on my YouTube channel on the Bdellium Tools Auto Lip Crayons and I figured, why neglect the blog – I should post a review here too. I was sent the Bdellium Tools Auto Lip Crayons as a part of Octoly – a site that I’ve been a part of but never really purchased or got products from over the years. This was the first product I got from my Free Store and I’m glad I was able to try it – since I don’t often use much from Bdellium Tools and I didn’t know they even had makeup or cosmetics as a part of their line.
I received two colors – Pink Cadillac (a gorgeous rose hued bright fuchsia pink) and Kadooment Orange (an orange with red undertones – almost coral in shade). Each lip crayon retails for $10.00 and Bdellium Tools offers a total of 7 shades on their website. I would love to try the nude shades they have available because these are so great for travel or sticking in the purse for on the go.
Each lip color is soft and creamy and glide on very easily on the lips. They are very pigmented and you get – One swipe and done, high pigment and color. They have a matte like texture but do not leave my lips dry which is awesome and my lips feel very moisturized while wearing the lip colors. These are not kiss proof, but they do last for quite a while if you are not eating, drinking or kissing. I love that each lip crayon is retractable, making it really easy to use.
Each lip color is paraben and perfume free. The lip crayons do not contain beeswax or carmine and include ingredients like shea butter to help hydrate the lips. Each pencil has a net weight of 0.05 oz / 1.5g so you get a lot of product for a reasonable price point. I did notice that the colors I got can settle into the lines of my lips – even if they are not drying. I think a lot of it has to do with the color and creamy feel of the product. While it does last on the lips, it will kiss off, rub off and will not set like a traditional matte lipstick – but they are very comfortable to wear.

With the cost of drugstore makeup increasing now a days, it’s nice to see a company like Bdellium Tools offer their lip products at reasonable costs. Let’s face it, $10.00 now a days for a lip crayon is not that bad considering there are so many on the market that are priced way more. I’m actually impressed with the product, though I do wish it had a little more staying power on my lips – especially since I drink water consistently during the day. I would love to try out their nude lippies and see how they match up to these that I have tried already. I’ll definitely be checking these out. I would love to see what other colors Bdellium Tools releases in the future.
