It’s no secret that I am a lip balm junkie and I’m always looking for one that hydrates and protects my lips with a sweet scent or flavor that makes treatment fun and exciting.  I have tried many available so I was so excited to be given the opportunity to try some from Mwah.  Mwah launched in 2014 with a vision to offer an innovative, effective, fresh and healthy spin on lip care that is still affordable for young women.  Mwah’s lip care products are natural, do not have harmful chemicals or preservatives and are never tested on animals.  They are produced in their 100% solar powered factory right in the U.S. (Southern California).  Today I am excited to share these products with you – they have been favorites of mine since I began using them so let’s chit chat about it.

Summer Lip Care For Your Perfect Pout With Mwah

Mwah offers three types of products at the moment.  Their lip balm stick, lip gloss and lip balm slider.  These products are available for purchase at stores like Target, Ulta, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS and Meijer as well as on Amazon.  Each of their products are solar factory made and are fun for all ages.  The packaging is cute – meant for tweens I’m sure, but this young-at-heart 35 year old loves it and I proudly tote them and take them out anywhere and in public.

Mwah products are produced in a 100% solar powered facility because the sun nourishes the mangoes that go into the super moisturizing formula.  Drawing from 100,000 watts of solar energy, Mwah’s facility combines solar power, low energy demand equipment and motion activated lighting to help reduce the carbon footprint and environmental effects from manufacturing their products.  I really love that so much thought and care is taken into consideration with the production of a product that I have grown to love.  What’s great is that each product is also made with Mango butter which is one of the healthiest and most beneficial ingredients for the skin.  It hydrates and nourishes and has great emollient properties but also provides excellent protection against the sun’s damaging UV radiation.  With vitamins A, C and E – mango butter offers awesome moisture and the hardness of the butter makes it a great butter for stick formulations such as lip balm and lotion bars.  Used to treat dry skin, heal skin peeling from tanning and heal sunburn and promote healthy rejuvenated skin.  Mwah’s products include all of this goodness thanks to the inclusion of mango butter in their lip products.

Summer Lip Care For Your Perfect Pout With Mwah

I have been loving the lip balm sticks and keep one in my purse, one on my vanity and one at my desk.  Available in Mango Madness, Creamsicle and Strawberry Sweetheart.  Creamsicle is my favorite at the moment.  Applying this is easy and my lips feel wonderfully moisturized and soft.  I especially have been loving applying this product prior to adding a lip color to give my lips a soft, pouty look.

Summer Lip Care For Your Perfect Pout With Mwah

The sliders are fun and have cute and interesting packaging.  Available in Coconut Chick, Sweet Tart and Mango Tango.  My favorite at the moment is Mango Tango and I love putting this balm on my lips before bed to give my pout a soft feel through the night and first thing in the morning.  Each slider includes mango butter, shea butter and macadamia nut oil which make them not only yummy but filled with great ingredients.  I love how cute and fun the packaging is, though I am not too fond of using my fingers to apply the product.  While I’m out and about, I tend to take the stick form to keep from contamination or germs but love the slider nonetheless.

Summer Lip Care For Your Perfect Pout With Mwah

Last but not least are the lip glosses.  Available in Berrylicious, Peachy Keen and Sugar lips.  These come in a traditional lip gloss squeeze tube and are made with mango butter and avocado oil to keep your lips pouty and pretty.  Each gloss is glittery and while I do think they are fun and make a great topper on the lips for on the go, I think these are definitely meant for the tween generation.  The gloss is thick, but feels nice on the lips which help to keep your lips moisturized.

Summer Lip Care For Your Perfect Pout With Mwah

I am glad I was introduced to this brand and love the message behind their products as well as the products themselves.  While I may not get much use out of the glosses, I have been loving the lip balm sticks and sliders and have been using them like crazy.  I have had a favorite lip balm now for over 4 years and I think I have just found one (or a few) that I enjoy more.  My lips love me and I love how soft they feel.

These products are made with a 100% natural formula and are Not tested on animals.  They do not include parabens, sulfates or harsh chemicals and are solar-factory made.  Not to mention they are filled with mango butter and delicious flavors.  I’m sold.

Have you tried these products from Mwah or have you seen them in your local stores?  I think the lip balms (stick and slider) will be a product I’ll continue to love for years to come.  You can check out what Mwah has to offer on their website at: http://www.perfectlypoutable.com/.

A few weeks ago I received a box in the mail that I was very excited to get.  Let’s face it – anything from Yves Saint Laurent is a treat for me and I couldn’t wait to test out the new Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector compliments of Influenster.  Adorn with the signature YSL gold and packaging, the new Touche Eclat duo looked as great in the packaging as it did in all its glory.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector - Influenster Voxbox

The Touche Eclat Blue Primer is a clear gel like product with gold reflects suspended though out.  I received the mini which includes 0.33 fl.oz. worth of product, however the full size includes 1.0 fl.oz. and retails for $52.00.  The blur primer is an illuminating primer that blurs imperfections and boosts the radiance of your foundation.  Like most primers – it preps the skin for foundation application, creating an improved – refined appearance and minimizing the look of pores, improving skin texture making it feel smoother and evening out the skin tone.  This product is packed with four nourishing oils – corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil which all help to make the skin feel soft without a greasy residue.  It is packed with blur technology, the primer provides a subtle, golden shimmer for gorgeous and ultimate luminosity.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector - Influenster Voxbox

Since I don’t use foundation or concealer, I wasn’t sure how much this product would work for me since everything that I read states that it helps with foundation.  However, I did notice a difference in how my skin looks after applying the primer as well as how my face products like blush, bronzer and highlight have a longer staying power.  Since I tend to bathe in highlighter, I also found that when I apply it to my cheek bones, it looks flawless and I barely notice my pores.  I also like that my powder or cream products apply so smoothly and evenly giving my face the look of even skin tone and overall a glowy and healthy appearance.  This product is non-comedogenic and suitable for all skintones and sensitive skin.

The primer has a gel like type of consistency but as soon as it hits the skin, it reminds me of silicone primers I have used in the past.  It applies smoothly and evenly and as it is blended onto the skin, it has a soft and baby powder like feel to touch.  It dries quickly and instantly and leaves your skin feeling soft and I love that it is not sticky and it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin.  Most importantly – I haven’t had any reactions or flareups with my sensitive skin which is a BONUS.  I honestly think that once I am done with the mini I received through Influenster, I will be looking into purchasing the full size.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector - Influenster Voxbox

The next product I got in the Voxbox from Influenster was the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector compact to perfect skin while retaining its luminous glow.  I was very excited to get a full sized sample of the Blur Perfector.  With a Net Wt. of 0.33oz and retailing for $55.00 – I was ecstatic to add this to my beauty arsenal.  The perfector is portable and packaged in a sleek and gorgeous compact.  This is Yves Saint Laurent’s first ever blur perfector encased within a compact and it’s gorgeous.  This product transforms from a balm to a powder upon application to soften the skin’s imperfections – creating a transparent yet subtle rosy-glow effect.  You can use this product alone or as an allover complexion perfector, to set your makeup or as a mattifying touch up to get rid of shine and hide imperfections.  What’s awesome is that it is a universal shade that will compliment all skin types and instantly minimizes the look of pores so that the skin feels smoother and the complexion appears even.  The blur perfector is also non-comedogenic and ideal for all skin tones and skin types.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector - Influenster Voxbox

The first time I tried this product, the results it gave me as well as the feel and texture reminded me of my beloved Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender.  While a tad bit sticky to touch – it blends out easily and turns into a powdery like texture that feels great against the skin.  It kind of me reminds me of an odd-like almost sticky wax – if that makes any sense.  This product works well to help give your face a matte finish and I love when I’m using a cream blush because applying this product on top keeps it in place all day.  I haven’t used the sponge to apply the product yet and have been applying with my fingers – creature of habit I guess.  While I do like the matte like effect it gives and it does keep some of my blush on all day – I think that it doesn’t help blur my imperfections on my face as well as the primer does.  However, used in combination over a BB cream or CC Cream, I did notice that it gave my face an almost airbrushed effect and I liked it.

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector - Influenster Voxbox

In the photo above, I am using the Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Perfector.  I noticed my blush, bronzer and highlight lasted for hours that day and my skin felt very nice and soft.

Overall – I’m pretty impressed with both products and I’m very thankful I was given this opportunity to try both of them out.  While I think I would definitely repurchase the full size of the Blur Primer, I may not repurchase the blur perfector since it is a similar cost to my Mally Pore Defender and I much more prefer that over the YSL.  The packaging on each is gorgeous and very lux for sure.  You can purchase these products on the YSL website or at Sephora, Nordstroms and other retailers that carry the brand.

Thank you Influenster for including me in this Voxbox.  Have you tried any of these products before and if so – what are your thoughts?  If not, have you tried similar products on the market?  What are they and what are your favorites?  Don’t forget to stop by my video and check it out.

It’s about time that I share with all of you my love for the Lorac Pro 2 Palette.  I have had this beauty in my collection now for a year and I actually filmed my review video for this product (which was not released till now) several months ago.  If you have been a long time follower of this blog, you know that the Lorac Pro Palette (the original) has been a favorite of mine for years and a go-to and Holy Grail Must Have.  When the Pro 2 Palette was released, I didn’t think that I “needed” it and I actually didn’t even look twice at it.  But, after looking at the shades, swatches and just overall tones of each shade, I decided to pick this palette up and it’s been one I’ve been pulling for over the last few months and during this warm summer heat.

A Palette You NEED - Lorac Pro 2 Palette

The Lorac Pro 2 Palette retails for $42 and you can find it at your local Ulta or Ulta.com.  I purchased mine online and it came with a mini Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Shadow Primer.  This palette like it’s sister the Original Pro Palette has 16 eye shadows, 8 matte and 8 shimmery shadows in a range of gorgeous shades.  As many know, this sequel to their original, best-selling PRO Palette was created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Carol Shaw (Carol = LORAC “if you didn’t know”) and is the perfect addition to any makeup collection.  These gorgeous velvety shades are smooth and silky,  infused with soothing botanicals and are VERY pigmented.  These shadows work well wet or dry and you can use the shades in this palette for shadows or to line and define your eyes… like a PRO.

A Palette You NEED - Lorac Pro 2 Palette

So – why MUST you have this palette?  Well, it’s no secret that the Lorac Pro Original palette is what I use for travel, what I take with me when ever I need a makeup palette for a trip, overnight stay or what I turn to for any reason.  But the Lorac Pro 2 Palette gives the original palette a little twist.  You certainly don’t need the original palette – though I do suggest it.  But if you are someone that loves a soft wearable makeup look or smoky eye from time to time, you can create a plethora of gorgeous looks with the Pro 2.  I originally thought this palette just had too many cool tones for me, so that is why I didn’t jump to buy it right away – but I realized almost immediately that the shades in this palette compliment my brown eyes so well and creating a look is effortless, easy and the colors basically choose themselves.  One of my favorite combination of shades include:  Rosé, Mocha, Nectar and Plum.

Top Row: Buff (Matte), Lt. Brown (Matte), Cool Gray (Matte), Nectar (Matte), Plum (Matte), Navy (Matte), Charcoal (Matte), Black (Matte)

A Palette You NEED - Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Each shade is very buttery and pigmented – Even the matte shades which can be difficult to come by.  Because of this, a light hand is always best when working with this palette and when you pick up too much product, tap your brush off to remove the excess before applying to the eyes.  A little goes a long way and I find that the shades can definitely get muddy if you use too much.  Again, I stress… a little goes a long way.  I have been doing makeup for years and still love how easy the Pro palettes are to work with.

Bottom Row: Snow (Shimmer), Beige (Shimmer), Rosé (Shimmer), Mocha (Shimmer), Chrome (Shimmer), Silver (Shimmer), Jade (Shimmer), Cocoa (Shimmer)

A Palette You NEED - Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Some of the shimmery shadows can be a bit powdery and sometimes they can leave a little fall out.  I suggest patting the color on and taking your time working with each.  While I mention some of the issues this palette can have, overall – I still continue to consider it one of my favorites and love that each of the colors within this palette work so well with my brown eyes – it makes my eyes really shine.  The shades are so pigmented, soft and buttery that I love to work with the palette overall and don’t even pay attention to the issues.  You know what they say – when you enjoy something, the negatives tend to not be prominent.

A Palette You NEED - Lorac Pro 2 Palette

Overall I think this palette is a definite must-have.  I now own Lorac Pro, Lorac Pro 2 and Lorac Mega Pro and I’m just a fan of Lorac’s shadows in general.  I’m definitely impressed with this one and I’m glad I picked it up.  Why do you need this palette?  Why not?  It’s pigmented and offers a fun selection of shades to create any eye look.  I love it.

So tell me… do you own the Lorac Pro 2 Palette?  If not, do you think it is something you need to have and if you do own it, do you love it?  Get a quick review and run down of the palette in my video review posted here.

I think I’m addicted to ColourPop!

Okay – I lied, I don’t think I’m addicted, I know I am.   ColourPop is an affordable cosmetic brand that offers great products for very reasonable prices.  Their products are some of my favorites and I have been getting a lot of use out of their products.   As you can see from my ColourPop collection (pictured below), I’m definitely a fan of their shadows, lippies, blushes and highlighters.

ColourPop Collection
This collection was taken before adding the Metamorphosis Palette, Nillionaire and La La to the mix.

Recently I ordered a few items from ColourPop and I wanted to share them with you.  I’m gearing up and getting ready for the new release of their Liquid matte lipsticks (woohoo) that have been posted on Instagram recently, so I wanted to share these with you in the case you are planning to place an order at the same time as I and wanted to add a few things to your list.

I’m going to start with a collection that I was very excited to get my hands on.  CoffeebreakwithDani’s Metamorphosis Palette includes four gorgeous shades and retails for $20.00.  This collection has two matte shades and two opal/duo chrome shades.  This collection was created by YouTube Beauty Guru CoffeebreakwithDani.

ColourPop Metamorphosis Coffeebreakwithdani palette

  • Bravery- True medium brown in a Matte finish
  • Strength- Soft peachy caramel in a Satin finish
  • Hope- Radiant opal with pink, violet, blue and silver duo chrome in a Sheer Opal finish
  • Kindness- Warm red brown undertone with a gold, green and blue duo chrome in a Sheer Opal finish

Hope & Kindness make beautiful toppers over your favorite shades and have a gorgeous color shift creating a gorgeous finish and different color for your favorite shades.

ColourPop Metamorphosis Coffeebreakwithdani palette
Left to Right: Hope, Strength, Bravery, Kindness

Next as a part of my order I picked up a few single shadows.  I have had my eye on Coconut since it’s release but I had to wait for it to be restocked again before I could pick it up.  I also have had Get Lucky on my list for about a year now but kept putting off picking it up.  I don’t know why I waited so long because once I got my hands on this shade, it has become a favorite and I’ve gotten some heavy use out of this shade.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadows
Left to Right – Top to Bottom: Coconut, Effect, Empire, Feather, Get Lucky, Liberty, Rex

I have wanted to get Rex for a few months now and decided that I would add this shade to the order as well.  And Effect, Empire, Feather and Liberty were colors I had recently come across on the site and I was intrigued.  I placed the order for these shades separately from the Metamorphosis Palette and the two neutral shades (below).

ColourPop Super Shock Shadows
Left to Right: Coconut, Effect, Empire, Feather, Get Lucky, Liberty, Rex

I also came across some gorgeous neutral toned shades and while I knew my collection had quite a bit of neutral like shades in it already, I knew I had to have these.  I added La La and Nillionaire to my order when I ordered the Metamorphosis palette.

ColourPop shadows
Left/Right: Nillionaire, La La

Nillionaire is a color I definitely recommend if you use neutral toned shades and are looking for something to add a little punch of something.  It’s a gorgeous bronze gold shade with flecks of pink and gold – it’s absolutely gorgeous.  La La is also a beautiful shade and perfect for an every day look.  It’s a copper like rose gold shade that is metallic but looks beautiful on the eyes.

ColourPop shadows

I’m not necessarily someone who runs to the latest fad or trend but I’m utterly impressed with ColourPop and their shadows.  I have tried many many of their products, obviously, and I find that I have been using and turning to my ColourPop shadows more than I have any of my highend palettes or cosmetics.  The look I created below is utilizing all Colourpop cosmetic products from the eye shadows, lippy stix and the light blush and highlight (more about the highlights in another post).

ColourPop Cosmetics

To create the look I’m wearing (above) I am using ColourPop’s Desert blended into my crease as my transition shade, Coconut Eye shadow all over the lid,  Rex and Effect blended onto the lower lash line, Girly (which was a previous purchase) applied as my browbone highlight shade, Ibiza (a previous purchase) as my inner corner highlight/pop of color and Feather on the outer corner of my eyes.

On my cheeks I am wearing Most Necessary blended so that it has a flush of color and Lunch Money highlighter as my cheek bone, cupid’s bow and down the bridge of my nose highlight.  I’m also using Carry On Bronzer to bronze and create a soft contour.  On my lips I’m wearing Tootsi.

ColourPop Cosmetics

I definitely am a ColourPop addict.  Did you hear?  ColourPop will be rolling out Liquid Lipsticks very soon and I already have my eyes on a few shades to add to my collection.  It is rare for me to fall completely in love with a brand and want to have everything and anything the offer but I’m so impressed with what I already own I can’t help but stalk the site – lol.

So – have you tried ColourPop yet?  If you have, what are your favorite colors or products from the brand?  If you haven’t tried anything from ColourPop yet, what do you have your eyes on?

While going through my highlighters in my makeup collection the other day, I stumbled upon the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette tucked in the drawer next to my other favorites.  It’s absolutely no secret that I love highlighter and this palette has been an absolute game changer for me.  Last year my husband purchased it for me as a gift and I continue to use it like it’s liquid gold.  As many times as it has been featured in tutorials, I was surprised that I never discussed it or did a full review here, so I decided that I would do that for you today.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

I don’t own many things from Hourglass, I have this palette, the blush palette and a few lippies but I truly enjoy them all and I’m glad they are a part of my collection.  The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($58 USD) includes three shades of the Ambient Lighting Powders.  These high-tech, soft focus finishing powders are used to recreate the most flattering types of light, giving your skin the perfect glow.  Available at Sephora and Hourglass Online, this palette was once a limited edition creation and has since been made permanent (woohoo).

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

So what exactly does this palette and the powders within it do?  This groundbreaking collection of finishing powders capture, diffuse and soften the way light reflects on skin.  These are different than traditional powders that merely cloak imperfections because the Ambient Lighting Powder utilizes photo-luminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of your complexion.  The powders deliver a multi-dimensional luminescence to every skin tone, making it appear softer and lit from within.  This palette of finishing powders enhances skin in any type of light – including flash photography.

“I learned early on how different types of light can truly flatter the complexion. Growing up, my mother had pink light bulbs in all of the lamps throughout the house. She loved pink light because it was the softest and most flattering, and she always wanted to look good. I used this concept of lighting in Ambient Lighting Powder.” —Carisa Janes, Hourglass Founder

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Dim Light is a neutral peach beige powder that blurs your imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Incandescent Light is a shade exclusive to this palette.   It is an opalescent pearl powder that brightens the complexion with a celestial glow.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Radiant Light is my favorite out of the three and is a sun-kissed golden beige that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth, and also extends a summer glow.

These gorgeous powders are so finely milled that they feel like silk against the skin.  I apply each one with a fluffy brush so that it gives a “kissed with highlight” look upon my cheekbones.  But, while that is where I apply it most – I love to literally take these powders and apply all over my face.  These powders add a finishing touch to your skin – completing your look and giving you that “effortless” glow.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

If you were to purchase any of the Ambient Lighting powders separately – you will pay $48.00 for one (0.35oz Net Wt.) I know that unless I use my powder often or daily, I will never get through an entire compact so the choice to pick up this palette was an ideal one for me.  If there are others that I want to try – then I’ll pick them up in full size.  There is a lot of powder in each shade included in the palette and definitely a great buy and worth the price.

I have been enjoying this palette the last year since I first got it and it has easily become a must-have and a holy grail product for me.  As I mentioned previously – Radiant light is my favorite shade as it looks great against my warm skin offering a subtle “lit from within” glow that looks great on me year round.  The other two shades have been getting much use as well.  I would suggest this as a purchase to anyone looking to try Hourglass and I absolutely love it.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

I’ll be sure to stop back and share with you my thoughts on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette as well – which unfortunately was a Limited Edition.  However, my hope is that they will bring it back & make it a permanent part of their line as they did with the Ambient Lighting Palette.  We shall see.  Have you tried this palette or any of the  Ambient lighting powders within?  What are your thoughts?
