We all know I’m all about great skin care and it is not an easy task to say the least.  Taking care of your skin has a lot to do with the type of products you choose, how clean and hygienic you are and of course… genes.  Though some of those things are enough – many factors can lead into good or bad skin care, even our environment and what we put into our body can cause issues.  Because of these reasons, I’m consistently on top of my skin care regimen to the best of my ability.  I completely stopped using certain products like foundation and have been using other products like serums to really hydrate and care for my skin.  Skin care products are my thing – they are my jam – they are required in my beauty routine and I’m always excited to try out new ones.  Today I bring to you my thoughts on some products – 180 Cosmetics Pure Swiss Hyaluronic Acid Serum + Vitamin C and 180 Cosmetics Pure Swiss Hyaluronic Acid Serum + Oxygen.  I have never tried these brands before but I’m always excited to share with you so here it goes.

180 Cosmetics Pure Swiss Hyaluronic Acid Serums

Let’s start with the 180 Cosmetics Pure Swiss Hyaluronic Serum + Oxygen ($89.89 – on sale for $17.49 now).  This serum comes with 15 mL/0.5oz worth of product which is quite a hefty cost for the amount you get.  I absolutely love the gold details and frosted bottle for the packaging and I was very excited to try this product.  Formulated with the highest quality hyaluronic acid – this product is designed to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.  It is also formulated to help deliver abundant moisture and oxygen to the skin to help preserve your skin’s elasticity, suppleness and youthful appearance.  This serum contains powerful antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals and is formulated without: Formalin, Formaldehyde, Phthalates, Petro-Chemicals, GMO, Triclosan, Fragrance and colors or dyes.

Using this product is simple.  Like with most serums, it comes with a dropper which makes using the product easy.  I apply a few drops to my hands and then apply to my face and neck while gently massaging in circular motions.  I wait until this product is fully absorbed before applying any other serums or facial creams and apply it day and night.  Overall – this product ran out pretty quickly since it is a small amount, but I found my skin felt hydrated and smooth.  The product soaks into my skin so quickly and easily, and I’m able to complete my beauty regimen quickly.  There is literally no scent to this serum and it is NOT sticky at all.  When applied to the skin, it soaks right in without issue and I love that it is clear.  It literally feels like water against my skin and I LOVE IT!  My skin is very sensitive and I haven’t had any issues with this product. It feels wonderful against my skin.

180 Cosmetics Pure Swiss Hyaluronic Acid Serums

The 180 Cosmetics Pure Swiss Hyaluronic Serum + Vitamin C (retails for $93.49 – but on sale NOW for $14.98) has 15mL/0.5 oz worth of product (the same as the other serum) and the same type of packaging.  I think the packaging in itself is a huge seller for me on both – I love it.  This serum is formulated with the highest concentration of pure Swiss hyaluronic acid and accelerates skin’s self-repairing process.  It preserves skin’s elasticity and youthful tone and since it is enriched with Vitamin C it helps to smooth your skin making it supple and moisturized.  This serum nourishes the skin and boosts hydration.  I love that it is formulated without Formalin, Formaldehyde, Parabens, Phthalates, Petro-chemicals, GMO, Triclosan and colors or dyes.  This serum is also good for all skin types and worked well on my sensitive skin.

Just like the other serum, it is also clear and has no scent which was a little different for me since most of the Vitamin C serums I have used include a citrus like fragrance.  It’s not sticky at all – though a tad bit thicker than the Oxygen serum… and I mean a tad as it is still liquid like and feels almost like water against the skin.  It soaks into the skin nicely and quickly and feels like nothing at all once the product has soaked in.  Like the Oxygen serum, this one also didn’t last me long with daily use.  I find that I use one in the morning (the Vitamin C serum) and then the Oxygen one at night so it makes the product last longer.  I LOVE that this serum is so easy to work with and makes my beauty regimen smooth and effortless.

At the price that these serums are at right now, I plan to pick up a bunch and back ups since they are on sale.  I have used many many serums over the years and these literally feel so great against my skin – I love it!  Seriously, I don’t often say “love” about any or many products but after just a few uses, I found that this product really has become a favorite and used in combination with other favorites, it has become a love.  The retail price of these serums is pretty hefty so I probably would have a hard time keeping up with the regimen at that cost – but on sale, yes – I would buy it without a doubt.  Since the product itself is very concentrated, a little goes a long way – which helps since the size of the product is a bit on the smaller side.  I also love a product that works instantly and really brightens up my complexion while helping to keep my dry skin moisturized.  Overall – I definitely suggest these serums, in a heartbeat.  And, this Hyaluronic Acid addict thinks is awesome!

Happy Wednesday. Hope you are all having a great day.

Have you heard of this brand before? Would you spend that kind of money on a product of that size, even if it worked?

I am thankful that I don’t have puffy under eyes… though I’m constantly cautious and on my game because puffy under eyes or eye bags run in the family on my dad’s side.  Let’s face it, with everything on the market today – there has got to be a product that I know will help combat this issue and prevent it from happening.  Because of this issue that may be in my future, I use eye creams and gels and love to wear under eye patches to help keep my under eyes moisturized, tighter, brighter and smoother.  Over the last few weeks I have been using under eye patches from Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care.  I have never heard of this brand prior to trying their products, but I think this will definitely be a household name in my home.  When it comes to a Collagen Eye Mask – under eye patches, it is important that you find one that works and feel comfortable on.  Here are my thoughts on this product.

Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care Collagen Eye Masks - Under Eye Patches

Beneleaf’s Collagen Under Eye Masks retail for $24.99 (on sale now for $19.99) and come in a pack of five masks.  These patches are made from a proprietary material called Hydrogel which is identical in structure to our skin cells.  Once they come in contact with skin, the cells immediately begin to pull in all the nutrients from masks into the deepest layers of the dermis.  Immediately after applying the masks, I felt like my under eyes were quenched and hydrated and I loved it!

The collagen masks include a unique blend of proven ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid (a favorite skin care product of mine), power antioxidants and peptides which result in tighter, brighter and smoother skin around the eyes.  After the first use, I felt like my skin under my area definitely became brighter and didn’t feel as dry as it can be.  What I love is that these are just so easy to use and leave absolutely no mess behind.  The results last for days and I usually will use one once a week.

Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care Collagen Eye Masks - Under Eye Patches

These masks do not stick and stay in place and do eventually start to slide if you are not laying down.  So I normally apply them and then lay in bed with a magazine or get caught up on my favorite shows.  As you can see from the photo above, they will start to slide down your face if you are not laying flat.  It doesn’t bother me though, I like to take the time to really just enjoy 10-15 minutes of relaxation time and will lay down after applying.

How to apply:

  • After thoroughly cleansing your skin, apply each mask under the eye area. (see photo)  The largest part will go nearest to your nose.
  • Allow the mask to sit and work for 10-15 minutes.  Go ahead and lay down and relax.
  • Once the time is up – carefully remove the mask.  You do not need to wash the serum off as it will work as a great treatment and will soak into the skin quickly.
  • Repeat the treatment as needed.  I usually will use one every week or so depending on how my under eyes are feeling.
  • Toss the mask away and you’re good to go till your next treatment.

These masks are suitable for all/most skin types:  Dry, Oily, Normal and Combination skin.  With my sensitive skin I didn’t notice any issues at all and it didn’t cause any flare ups or skin sensitivities.  You will notice that any puffiness and dark circles you may have will be reduced quickly.  I love that my skin feels tight and plump after one use and it’s great that these products do not contain Parabens or Alcohol.

Beneleaf Anti-Aging Skin Care Collagen Eye Masks - Under Eye Patches

If you use this product as I do, a pack of these will last you about a month – I use them once a week as needed.  The product is priced pretty well and I love how soothing it feels under my eyes.  On days where I feel like I had a crazy run around kind of time, I’ll put these on to help me relax and just enjoy the pampering.  There is a light fragrance in these products, one I haven’t quite figured out yet, but it is not overpowering and did not bother my sensitivities to smell.  I love the light cooling sensation these have on my skin and I find that putting the masks in the fridge prior to applying them (for about 30 minutes to an hour prior) makes for a great cool-off session during this hot summer heat.  I definitely recommend these and can’t wait to use more products from this line.

So – what brands do you use for under eye patches?  Have you used something like this before?

Mascara and eye liner, two things that I love and use consistently when it comes to makeup.  I was very excited to hear that Covergirl had released some new products for the eyes recently and even more excited when I got the chance to check those out for myself to see how I liked them.  Anything that promises me over the top lashes and a bold cat eye are definitely something I am interested in checking out.  Covergirl’s Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast have been put to the test – do you think they made the cut?

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

Let’s start with the mascara shall we.  The packaging on this mascara is cute and it is huge – it even feels pretty large when holding it in your hand.  The product says that this will provide you 400% corner-to-corner volume and has a unique lash styler that you twirl as you apply.  As you will see in my demo/first impressions video, this was a little tricky to apply at first.  The wand is kind of odd in my opinion and even after using this product for a month since recording the video, I still have yet to get the “twirling” aspect of it down.

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

I got this mascara in VERY BLACK which is great because that is really the only mascara color I use.  The mascara is very dark in shade which I like and it makes my lashes definitely stand out against my tattooed liner.  I am quite impressed with the brush and how it gets my little lashes and really does add volume from corner-to-corner as it states.  I think the only con I had for this product was the overall learning curve and the fact that applying to my lower lashes was not very easy at first and is still a bit of a challenge for me.  I will usually stop applying this mascara at two coats because I will notice that if I am trying to twirl as suggested, it can start to make my lashes clumpy and bunchy.  If I do not twirl and apply as I would normal mascara that I use, I can usually get about three coats of mascara without clumping.

The formulation is a little on the mousse-like side and seems to take a little longer to set than my regular mascaras.  Once set it doesn’t seem stiff or hard on my lashes and my lashes still have a soft feeling to them.  The biggest issue for me was that since my eyes are sensitive and do tear, once it tears I have mascara smeared all over my lower and upper lash line.  I definitely need to try the waterproof version.

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

Overall – I think the mascara offered me reasonable length and volume and I have continued to use it since I first opened the package.  I isn’t a favorite, but I have been able to make it work for me and I like the effect it gives my lashes.  Would I continue to purchase?  Hmm… maybe in a waterproof formulation to use as every day because it did offer good lift and volume for my tiny lashes.

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

Next is the intensify me! liquid liner by lashblast.  This liquid line has a unique paddle-shaped top that gives you two different looks in one.  You can either go dramatic and thick or thin and elegant.  The formula is an intense black formula that glides on smoothly and dries super quick.  I love that you can create different looks easily and it’s great that there is minimal to no skipping when using this product as you apply your liner.  This liner is Ophthalmologist tested and suitable for contact lens wearers which is a plus for me all around since my eyes are sensitive. It removes easily with soap and water, which is great but also a negative for me since I have sensitive eyes I tear a lot.

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

I did notice some smudging after a little while of use and if my eyes tear heavily, it will smear and run.  But, the formula on this product is dark and a deep black which I like.  It has a little shine to it, but still appears black once it sets.  I love the paddle-like tip on this product because it makes applying your eye liner or creating a cat-eye or winged liner so easy, even for those who are novice at it.  I think this would make a great starter liner and I know I’ll continue to use it because I love how smooth it glides against my eye lid without tugging.  You also get bold color in one swipe which is awesome.

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

It’s rare to find really good liquid liners at the drugstore that will meet both my need for ease of use as well as color pay off and quality.  I’ve pretty much tried them all and I’m really impressed with this product overall.  I would love to find it in a waterproof version, especially since my eyes tear often and if I do, I know it will easily become a favorite.

New Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me! Eyeliner by LashBlast

Overall – while I was fairly impressed with the products when I first tried them (see my video here), I definitely think that I have grown to enjoy these products.  I use the Covergirl Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara in combination with some of my favorite lengthening mascaras and get a great result and I have truly been enjoying the Covergirl intensify me! by lashblast liquid liner because of it’s ease of use for creating your favorite kind of eye liner look.  Will I purchase these again?  Hmmm… I know I’ll definitely purchase the intensify me! eye liner again and I’m still on the fence with the Super Sizer mascara.  If I can find the mascara in a waterproof version and try that out – it may give me a better idea if I truly would consider this a repurchase.  I like it, but it smears easily on my watery eyes so I’m still not sure about that.  Overall – I do think they are pretty nice products for the price.

Have you tried any of these yet?  What are your thoughts on these products?  Don’t forget to check out my video where I demo and share my initial/first impressions of these products.  My review you are reading here is after a month or so of use.

There is absolutely no denying it… when it comes to Colour Pop – I’m absolutely happy, ecstatic and in love with this brand.  Come on now – I own over 50 of their eye shadows and more than 15 of their lippy stix, so it’s quite obvious I have major crush issues.  As soon as I heard that Colour Pop was bringing in blushes, highlighters and bronzers, I had to snatch a few of them up in heart beat.  Last year (2014), I actually used several of my favorite eye shadows from ColourPop as blush and highlighter so knowing I could get the real thing had me dancing in the streets… literally.  I have been playing with some of the new highlighters now for a bit and I wanted to share with you my thoughts on them.  So were the new ColourPop highlighters love at first sight for me?

New Colour Pop Highlighters - Was it Love at First Sight For Me? http://honeygirlsworld.com

I ordered:  Lunch Money, Spoon, Wisp, Most Necessary and Butterfly Beach.  Wisp, Butterfly Beach and Lunch Money all looked like shades that would compliment my warm skin tone and something I could use for a gorgeous highlight for summer and Spoon looked like a shade that I could use year round offering a great highlight for me at night.  Most Necessary – while I thought would be a great blush – I purchased because as I tan in the summer months, it would offer a sunkissed glow.

Each highligher is just $8.00 and comes in the usual ColourPop packaging.  They have 4.2g/0.15oz of product in each and the highlighters have that same mousse like texture we have grown to love with CP.  I find that they are best applied with my fingers, but also enjoy blending them out for a subtle highlight with my ELF Small Stippling brush.  The embossing on these highlighters are different from the blushes, bronzers and shadows and each one I ordered has a gorgeous shimmer and glisten to them.

It’s obvious that I was gonna jump on these as soon as they were released, let’s face it – I’m addicted to the brand and price point… but I had high hopes for these and while they work for me, I was a bit disappointed with them overall.  While my skin is normally dry, as the summer heat hits Hawaii, I find that my skin lends to be a little on the oily side during Summer months.  Because of this – I noticed that when my skin is oilier than usual – these offer a VERY subtle highlight – not nearly what I would expect from a brand I have grown to love.  If I use it on my normal/dry skin – the highlight is deeper and much more pigmented.  While I know these will work well for me as an every day highlight, I find that it still doesn’t give me that “look at that highlight tho” kind of look that I crave.  Honestly, I get better highlight from Girly (a CP shadow) blended onto my cheek bones – then I do with these.  Don’t get me wrong – I’ll still use them and use them often, but I’m disappointed that they are not that “wowzers” kind of highlight I had expected.

I do not use Foundation or Concealer so I’m not sure how these would perform over face products like those.  I find that applying these first and then adding some of my favorite powder highlights like BECCA Shimmering Powder in Moonstone offer a really nice effect.  Keep in mind that I found these highlighters to flop for me when my skin was oily… when my skin was on the drier side, I noticed the highlighters all showed up fairly okay on me, so I don’t know if oily skin is the factor.

ColourPop Cosmetics

In the photo above I am using Lunch Money blended onto my cheek bones, on my cupid’s bow and lightly on the bridge of my nose and forehead.  As you can see – it offers a subtle highlight in this photo.  I am using a moisturizer with SPF so my skin is a little more on the dewy side and even when applied with my fingers or my ELF Small Stippling brush, I found that the color faded on me within a 30 minute time frame.  If I set the highlighter with a powder, it will give me longer staying power and if my skin is dry that day – I can get a few hours of longevity out of each one.

Overall while I’m a bit disappointed with the longevity and staying power of these on oily skin – they worked well with my dry skin and I love the shades I have.  I pull for these a lot because application is fun and easy and I do not have to worry about dirtying a brush to apply them.  I love the color range available from ColourPop and the five shades I ordered are really pretty.  You can’t beat the price and they work well as a base for your powdered highlights.  Are they a complete miss for me?  Nah, I am sure I will make them work… but I think that if you normally have oily skin, these may not give you the pigmentation you would expect of ColourPop.  If you use Foundation/Concealer these may offer you a little longer staying time, but I use these on bare skin.  I have not tried them over a face primer.

ColourPop Bronzer Carry-On

I also wanted to share the one ColourPop bronzer I have in Carry-On.  This bronzer is the perfect shade for me and offers a subtle bronze look.  It’s matte, creamy in texture like the other mousse like products from CP and retails for $8 with 4.2g/0.15oz of product. I am using this bronzer for a subtle/light contour in the photo above and it works.  If I use this bronzer alone, it works well and while it fades, it still gives me that bronze look I desire.  If I apply a powder bronzer over this product, I notice that there can be light oxidation after having the product on for several hours.  Applying this with your finger in the hollows of your cheeks can be a bit of a challenge if not careful so I definitely suggest a synthetic contour brush.

Just figured I would throw this in since it is only one product.  Have you tried any of the highlighters or bronzers from ColourPop?  What are your thoughts on these items if you have?  If not, do you have any on your wishlist?

I can’t believe summer is here already and that means that I’ll do anything to beat the heat.  That also means that while I love to be stylish, I also want to be cool and comfortable.  It’s a rare occasion that I add any heat products to my hair and during the summer, that is especially true.  I love wearing my hair down but with the heat some products and styles can cause me to feel sticky and yuck so I try to keep it all as simple as possible.  I have used many products over the years to create that beachy boho curls look without the fuss of a lot of products or tools and TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done has definitely been a great addition to my style this season.  I wanted to share with you an easy style that is not only effortless, it requires absolutely no tools.  I hope you enjoy this little tutorial I have for you!

No Heat, No Tools, Beachy Boho Curls

I’m so excited at how easy it is to achieve a quick, sweet and fashionable wavy look for less with help from Walmart and the new TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done collection – a line of soft styling products that are infused with Sea Kelp extract to create a variety of effortless, wavy hairstyles.  Perfect up to 3 different styles with just 6 products and get weightless hold that lasts all day without looking overly styled.

Take the “Which wavy style should you try at your next special event?” quiz to see which look will be perfect for your next wedding, brunch, or girl’s night out. Wherever you’re going there’s a fabulous wavy look that’s right for you!  I got Boho Waves and I was so excited to share an easy and effortless look that you can use all day during the summer months.  TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done products make it simple for you to do and my short tutorial is great for those on the go.

No Heat, No Tools, Beachy Boho Curls

All You need are 4 products and no heat tools to create this look:

  • TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Shampoo
  • TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Conditioner
  • TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Sea Salt Spray
  • TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Wave Perfecting Gelee

Now for the steps you need to create these Beachy boho waves.  I have naturally curly hair, but find that the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done products add soft hold for all day and give me that beachy sea salt hair that looks like I was playing in the ocean all day.  If you have straight hair, I suggest using a styling tool like a curling wand or flat iron – however, I also find that wrapping your hair around your finger or scrunching while adding product will give you a great look with soft beachy waves as well.

  1. Start with washing your hair with the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Shampoo & Conditioner.   Dry your hair but not completely.  I like my hair to be wet a bit when I apply the other products so that my curls are more defined, but damp and slightly dry hair works best.
  2. When your hair reaches that point of almost dry but still damp I like to spray in the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Sea Salt Spray.  I like to spray from my roots, through the mid length of my hair and then finish at the ends.  Be sure that if you do not have much volume on the top of your head, do not add too much product so that you do not weigh your hair down.  Once you have applied the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Sea Salt Spray – scrunch your hair to give it texture.
  3. If you have naturally curly hair like I do – then I suggest using the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Wave Perfecting Gelee to lightly hold your curls in place.  This product will allow you to have movement in your hair, but still offer a light hold to keep your curls defined.  If you have straight hair, as you are applying the Gelee, you want to scrunch your hair to give it texture and activate your natural waves.  If you have really straight hair, you may need to use the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done Brushable Hold Hairspray instead of the Gelee and wrap strands of your hair around your fingers to create soft waves.  You can do this with the Gelee as well but it may not hold as great as the Hairspray does.
  4. Finish the look off with a fun headband.  I originally thought about using a floral crown, but was feeling something a little simpler and this stretchy band with iridescent beads was fun, flirty and gave the look a boho feel.

No Heat, No Tools, Beachy Boho Curls

Now your very easy hairstyle is complete so get your beach gear or favorite pool party fashions to style and profile!  I like to finish my boho waves and curls with a cute wrap, sarong or pareo and a cute pair of flip flops.

No Heat, No Tools, Beachy Boho Curls

Want to try the TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done product line for yourself?  Check your local paper for a coupon and check out this awesome line.  I’m loving the Sea Salt Spray and I can honestly say I may not go back to my highend brand again… lol.
