Being born and raised in Hawaii, I have had long hair my entire life.  In my teen years, my hair was so long it came down to my knees.  It’s a part of my culture and having danced Hula for most of my childhood, it was kind of a necessity.  After having my eldest son (11 years ago), I noticed that my hair started thinning and was not as strong as it use to be in my younger years.  Then, having my twins almost 6 years ago left my hair in disarray and my hair was not only thinning near my hair line, but it was weak and it shed a lot.  I have also caused severe damage to my locks with excessive bleaching and processing, which caused my hair to be brittle as well.  Over the years I have tried many things to help with my hair – not necessarily for the growth of it since my hair grows quickly naturally, but to help with the strengthening of my locks.  While some worked, some didn’t and I continued on my hair journey to find the supplements, natural tonics and formulas that would help.  About 9 months ago I started using Hair La Vie Revitalizing Hair Blend and have noticed a huge difference in  how my hair feels, looks and how strong it is.  Today, I’m sharing with you my Hair Story and how Hair La Vie helped my hair journey.

Over the last year I have been taking Hair La Vie from La Muse.  While I do not take it consistently, I probably have taken a total of 4 bottles over the course of the last 8 months or so,  I have tried to incorporate into my daily supplements.  This product is easy to swallow since it comes in a capsule that makes taking it simple and I take two capsules a day – one in the morning and one in the evening.  The pill is rather large, but swallowing it has never been an issue for me.  With ingredients like Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, Biotin and Folic Acid (to name a few), Hair La Vie offers a wide variety of beneficial ingredients to help promote longer, fuller hair with faster results.  My hair naturally grows quickly, so I do not necessarily notice much growth with this product, but I do notice how strong and full my hair has become over the last several months.

Hair La Vie is formulated to be an all-natural product, with clinically proven ingredients.  It helps to repair and stimulate your hair’s growth from the inside out and leaves you with longer, fuller hair that grows faster than ever before.  This product is perfect for hair that has been cut too short, is damaged (like mine is from all the bleaching) and thinning or balding (which I have been experiencing from past pregnancies).  My hair not only looks and feels fuller and healthy but I love that I’m not pulling my hair out of the shower drain because I’ve noticed a huge decrease in shedding.

Last week I chopped off about 6 inches from my hair to allow for it to be healthy again and my curls to be revived.  After taking Hair La Vie the last month, I noticed that my hair is looking fuller once again and areas where my hair was thinning after pregnancy now look fuller.  While my hair grows rather quickly – I chop off about 6 inches every 4 months and it grows almost as fast, I noticed that over the years my hair shed a lot and my locks were not as thick as they once were due to pregnancy, age and just overall health and weather.  With the assistance of Hair La Vie, my locks are now stronger, have more bounce and are thicker and healthy looking.  I even noticed that my hair is much shinier than before.  My biggest improvement is the growth along the hair line.  Near my hair line by my temples of my head, I was experiencing receding after having my twins.  Thinning and receding were discussed in previous posts and you could noticeably see that there was a bald spot.  Look at the photo below… do you see a bald spot?  My hair line is full and filled in and where I had noticeable receding over the years is now but a memory – THANK YOU HAIR LA VIE.  This is the ONLY product that I have used that has filled in my hair line completely – after only 2 months of consistent use.  I noticed after the first month that my receding hair line was less visible and now two months after the constant use of Hair La Vie, I don’t even notice the bald spots and you wouldn’t either.

Hair La Vie Revitalizing Hair Blend is affordable.  I have tried different supplements that can retail for quite a hefty cost but that is not the case as a 30 day supply is just $39 and they offer discounts if you buy more than one.  Since I’ve noticed such a huge improvement in my hair, I will definitely continue using Hair La Vie to keep my hair looking and feeling healthy and to encourage healthy growth and strong locks.  I hope I can continue to keep Hair La Vie in my beauty regimen to promote healthy hair in my life.  Again, I have tried many products as well as taking regular Biotin, but Hair La Vie is my absolutely favorite.

My Go-To Summer Moisturizer – Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer

Moisturizer is my absolutely Jam! Since I have such crazed dry skin I’m always using products to keep my skin hydrated and since my skin is also sensitive – I need a product that will work without causing my Eczema to flare up or my skin to go cray.  I have been using the Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer with SPF 47 and while I have enjoyed it, I have always hoped to find a cheaper alternative and one that didn’t leave me feeling like I was putting on SPF daily.  Recently I came across Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 and decided I would try it out.

The Aveeno Daily Nourishing Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 retails at your local drugstore for about $10.  You get 2.5 fl.oz. (75mL) which is quite a bit of product in my opinion for the price point.  It has been quite a few years since I have used Aveeno products, but I always enjoyed them so I had hoped this would do the trick and replace my expensive moisturizer for this summer.  To say I’m pleased and impressed would be an understatement.  This product comes in an easy to use pump which I find is wonderful.  My Josie Maran one is always difficult to use and clogs on me easily so I end up opening up the pump and using straight from the bottle which I hate.

This product is oil-free, hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic which really help with my sensitive skin.  The formula is lightweight which I love and I don’t have that greasy feeling when I’m using it.  This product has been my awesome savior this summer and I love using it during the day before I’m off to enjoy summer activities.  The Broad Spectrum SPF 30 helps keep what’s good for your skin in and what’s bad out and replenishing and helping to protect your skin wherever the day takes you.  A clinical study done says that 100% of women showed an improvement in the look of stressed skin overall.

This product has helped to protect from the sun but also keeps my skin hydrated and moisturized through the day.  The formula is enriched with antioxidants and vitamins that are clinically proven to replenish stressed skin and keep the essential moisture.  My skin feels soft and I love that I can go bare skin with just moisturizer and  hit the beach for fun in the sun.  I would love to see this product in a higher SPF, but I do enjoy what it offers overall.

When blended well onto my skin – I didn’t notice any issues with photography like some moisturizers can cause, especially since I do not use foundation or product over my moisturizer.  It hasn’t given me any issues with my sensitive skin and I have been able to use this product daily.  A 2 oz bottle of my Josie Maran Argan Moisturizer with SPF is $32 vs $10-ish for the Aveeno which is a huge savings.  I am definitely glad I found this at Walmart and thankful I decided to take a dive and try it out.  Many moisturizers can often cause my skin to be irritated depending on the ingredients and this product has been wonderful the last few weeks that I have been using it so I had to share.  I totally would consider this somewhat of a dupe of my Josie Maran though I like the consistency and thickness of the Aveeno vs the liquid like consistency of the Josie Maran.  I also think the pump works so well on the Aveeno as my Josie Maran can clog easily or be a pain after a few uses.

As a mother of three boys, I’m always looking for fun and interesting items to add to our mix of adventures.  Laser Pointers are fun for us to play with and we especially love to play with them and at night against a dark wall to create fun and interesting designs.  Recently I was sent the Kyasi 3-in-1 Laser Pointer Touch Pen Ball Pen and I was quite impressed with the quality of the product and what it does.

This interesting gadget retails $24.95 (original price – $39.95) and is the perfect gift for your graduate or a dad in your life.  It’s perfect for everyday use and I love that the Pen/Stylus and Laser comes with batteries so you can easily use your product right out of the box.  This device is build from 100% brass and the pen itself writes nicely, smoothly and has a great feel in your hands, weighted – but not heavy, sturdy!

The laser pointer is bright and has great power behind it.  You can easily see it lit well through out any room and the range is great – offering amazing visibility.  The microfiber mesh tipped stylus works well on any capacitive touch screen – like Apple devices, Samsung, Kindles and tablets.  I use the touch screen on my Note 4 as well as on my Samsung Tablet without any issue.  As I mentioned earlier, the pen also comes with batteries right in the box so you are able to use this product right after you open the box.

Laser pointers can be a distraction for some and are dangerous to be pointed directly into the eyes, so please be careful with use.  My sons and I love to shine the pointer on the ground for our dog to chase the light around or we shine it at our wall at night to create fun light show displays.  I love that this pen is both functional and an interesting “toy” and offers hours of use.  The laser pointer (CE under 1.0mw and FDA under 5mw) is easy to use as well, just depress the little button on the pen and the ball point pen can be refilled with standard D1 German ink refills.

Love The Skin You’re In – Foreo Luna Review

If you asked me 5 years ago “Are you happy with where your skin is?” I would probably answer you with a big fat NO!  Five years ago I used foundation and concealer to hide my imperfections and having turned 30 then, my skin was freaking out on me.  I found out later that I had severe Eczema and that after having my twins, my skin needed a little more finesse.  It’s funny when I think back at everything I had been doing to my poor face then.  I had just had my twins and my face really did have it’s fair share of break outs.  After changing up my skin care routine, adding and removing certain products from my skin care regimen and knowing what works and what doesn’t, my skin has come a VERY long way.  Recently I have added the Foreo Luna to my cleansing arsenal.  I have tried many different cleansing brushes in the past, (some were fails, some worked well, some were too harsh), I had hoped the Luna would be a product I would love and let me tell you, it is!

Cleansing my skin has always been an important part of who I am and my entire skin routine, but I didn’t realize that harsh products both for cleansing, treating and even tools were causing my skin to have my Eczema flare ups.  Having added the Foreo Luna to my cleansing regimen, I have found that it will now be a product I can’t live without.  I have been using this product consistently for several weeks and have found that even with my severely sensitive skin – I’ve been able to get great results from this tool.  Like any other cleansing tool, I’m unable to use it daily for I will get a reaction, but I find that I can use it every other day unlike some of my favorite cleansing brushes like the Soniclear, which I am only able to use once a week.

The LUNA is a cleansing and anti-aging device with a breakthrough approach to skin care.  It’s T-Sonic pulsations are sent through the ultra-soft and smooth silicone touch points to deeply clean, but gently remove dirt, oil and makeup residue.  After one use I immediately noticed my skin looked radiant and brighter and my skin looked healthier.  After one use, I fell in love with this product instantly.  The unit I have is specifically designed for Sensitive / Normal skin however, there are options available for Combination skin and Ultra Sensitive skin types too.

Foreo Luna

The Luna has soft “rounded” silicone touch points which mean there are no abrasive surfaces on the unit resulting in a gentler clean then sharp oscillating brushes that you get from your standard facial cleansing devices.  The ultra-hygienic silicone design is nonporous to resist bacteria buildup making it up to 35x more hygienic than bristled brushes and since the Luna’s silicone brushes are so durable, they don’t require replacing.  While the Luna is definitely an investment in your skin, it will also save you money in the long run in having to purchase replacement heads as you would for the traditional facial-cleansing brushes.

I use my Foreo Luna for just two minutes at night when cleansing – every other day (since my skin is too sensitive to use daily).  Since I have sensitive skin, I also use my very gentle Cetaphil cleanser as it cleanses gently with the unit and makes my cleaning experience feel like I’m getting a facial.  Using the product is so simple – simply apply your cleanser, wet your Luna and then turn it on and use it on your face.  After I cleansed (1 minute), I then use the back side of the unit (the Anti-Aging mode) and apply to the wrinkle-prone areas that I would normally treat with wrinkle creams.  In just a matter of a few days I noticed a dramatic change in how bright and radiant my skin looked.

Besides the awesome gentle cleansing I get from this unit, I love how easy it is to not only use but charge.  This cool little device is charged once and will last up to 450 uses for each full charge.  The Luna is waterproof, which means I can use it in the shower and not worry about a thing and like I mentioned previously you don’t have to change out a brush head like you would other products.  While I do enjoy my Soniclear – that is one thing I didn’t like and the Luna is much gentler on my skin than any brush I have used on my face.  You have several different levels of power on the device so you can adjust the settings to fit your sensitivities and the unit has a built in light in the base that will illuminate to let you know when to move around on your face to get the best possible clean in the time allotted.  This is perfect for those on the go or moms like me who are busy and have their hands full with mommy stuff.  Just two minutes a day (two minutes every other day for me) and you have a great cleanse and an anti-aging regimen all in one.

ColourPop Haul – Metamorphosis, Single Shadows & More

I think I’m addicted to ColourPop!

Okay – I lied, I don’t think I’m addicted, I know I am.   ColourPop is an affordable cosmetic brand that offers great products for very reasonable prices.  Their products are some of my favorites and I have been getting a lot of use out of their products.   As you can see from my ColourPop collection (pictured below), I’m definitely a fan of their shadows, lippies, blushes and highlighters.

Recently I ordered a few items from ColourPop and I wanted to share them with you.  I’m gearing up and getting ready for the new release of their Liquid matte lipsticks (woohoo) that have been posted on Instagram recently, so I wanted to share these with you in the case you are planning to place an order at the same time as I and wanted to add a few things to your list.

Next as a part of my order I picked up a few single shadows.  I have had my eye on Coconut since it’s release but I had to wait for it to be restocked again before I could pick it up.  I also have had Get Lucky on my list for about a year now but kept putting off picking it up.  I don’t know why I waited so long because once I got my hands on this shade, it has become a favorite and I’ve gotten some heavy use out of this shade.

I have wanted to get Rex for a few months now and decided that I would add this shade to the order as well.  And Effect, Empire, Feather and Liberty were colors I had recently come across on the site and I was intrigued.  I placed the order for these shades separately from the Metamorphosis Palette and the two neutral shades (below).

I also came across some gorgeous neutral toned shades and while I knew my collection had quite a bit of neutral like shades in it already, I knew I had to have these.  I added La La and Nillionaire to my order when I ordered the Metamorphosis palette.

Nillionaire is a color I definitely recommend if you use neutral toned shades and are looking for something to add a little punch of something.  It’s a gorgeous bronze gold shade with flecks of pink and gold – it’s absolutely gorgeous.  La La is also a beautiful shade and perfect for an every day look.  It’s a copper like rose gold shade that is metallic but looks beautiful on the eyes.

I’m not necessarily someone who runs to the latest fad or trend but I’m utterly impressed with ColourPop and their shadows.  I have tried many many of their products, obviously, and I find that I have been using and turning to my ColourPop shadows more than I have any of my highend palettes or cosmetics.  The look I created below is utilizing all Colourpop cosmetic products from the eye shadows, lippy stix and the light blush and highlight (more about the highlights in another post).

To create the look I’m wearing (above) I am using ColourPop’s Desert blended into my crease as my transition shade, Coconut Eye shadow all over the lid,  Rex and Effect blended onto the lower lash line, Girly (which was a previous purchase) applied as my browbone highlight shade, Ibiza (a previous purchase) as my inner corner highlight/pop of color and Feather on the outer corner of my eyes.

On my cheeks I am wearing Most Necessary blended so that it has a flush of color and Lunch Money highlighter as my cheek bone, cupid’s bow and down the bridge of my nose highlight.  I’m also using Carry On Bronzer to bronze and create a soft contour.  On my lips I’m wearing Tootsi.

I definitely am a ColourPop addict.  Did you hear?  ColourPop will be rolling out Liquid Lipsticks very soon and I already have my eyes on a few shades to add to my collection.  It is rare for me to fall completely in love with a brand and want to have everything and anything the offer but I’m so impressed with what I already own I can’t help but stalk the site – lol.
