Targeting the 12 Signs of Aging With StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream

I love finding skincare products that work and over the last year and a half I have had the opportunity to try some great ones from StriVectin.  I have been using the Multi-Action Restorative Cream daily as a part of my skin care routine with other products over the last 6 months and after finally trying the product, I feel comfortable enough to share my thoughts with you.  Keep in mind, I’ve been using a lot of skin care lately from StriVectin (it’s literally becoming a favorite among my list of products) so you will be seeing more from the brand here in the next few days.  The StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream has been a favorite that I have even repurchased since first trying it several months ago so I really wanted to share this product with you today.

The StriVectin Multi-Action Restorative Cream (50 mL / 1.7 fl.oz.) retails for $95.00 and claims to address the 12 key signs of aging, replenish and strengthen the moisture barrier to diminish water loss and optimize skin performance to fortify against future aging.  The product is pretty costly in my opinion, but immediately after trying the product for about 3 days when I was first sent my jar to test, I noticed a huge difference in the moisture that my face and neck had.  I love when a product offers immediate results and I noticed it so quickly, I knew I would fall in love with this product.  Let me start off by saying… ack, I hate when I love an expensive product, but love when a product is worth the cost.

I have really enjoyed many different products I’ve tried from StriVectin in the past, but this by far would be considered one of my favorites.  A moisturizer that really does make my skin feel great and look great… yes, sign me up for a lifetime supply – pulllleeesssseeeee!

So what are the 12 key signs of aging that this product claims to target?

  1. Fine Lines – I noticed immediately how the fine lines where my smile lines are softened and were not as noticeable.  This includes my forehead lines that I have as well.
  2. Deep Wrinkles – I don’t have deep wrinkles with exception to between my eyes where I get natural wrinkles from frowning or making faces.  I’ve had these since I was a little girl.  While these are still there, they are less prominent then before.
  3. Firmness – I use this cream on my neck and have noticed within a week that my neck seems firmer and tighter
  4. Sagging Skin – I don’t have much or any sagging skin so I didn’t notice too much of a difference with this particular “sign of aging”
  5. Dehydration – YES!  This is a key claim that I noticed immediately.  This product gave my skin life and it no longer looks dry.  Even with good moisturizers my skin would still have a dry look to it.  This helps to give my skin moisture that lasts all day and has repaired my overall dehydration of my skin.
  6. Dullness – my skin looks brighter and I noticed this after a week of use.  It continues to keep my skin looking great.
  7. Texture – my skins texture has definitely improved.  I use this product along side other skincare products, including the Retinol from StriVectin sorry and noticed my skin feels soft and smooth.
  8. Resilience – well, my skin is naturally sensitive to many products, but after using this cream I noticed my skin seems stronger to other products and not as sensitive as it used to be.
  9. Discoloration – I love that my skin has really evened out and looks great.
  10. Enlarged Pores – I don’t necessarily have large pores, but I can certainly say my pores are not as prominent as before.
  11. Density – I have noticed the increased look of radiant skin.  Thankfully I do not experience much loss of skin density but, noticed that this product is definitely helping to keep my skin looking great, radiant and fuller.
  12. Clarity  – Ah, this one is definitely a plus in my book as well.  My skin looks clearer, has less breakouts during that time when it’s most stressed and overall looks great.

This cream is thicker than what you would expect from your basic or typical moisturizer.  Now, while I say it’s thicker, that doesn’t necessarily mean it is heavier.  It has a dense consistency versus your traditional moisturizer and it feels like it may be lightly whipped somewhat.  I use very little when applying to my face and have absolutely loved over the last 6 months how it feels when applied.  It’s one of those creams that really soak into my face nicely leaving my skin feeling moisturized without that heavy feel.

I have been using this product with different serums over the last 6 months and found that some of my serums can cause this to slightly bunch up or have a peeling like texture (not your skin peeling, but the product bunching and looking like peeled skin somewhat), but it is only with some of my serums (not all) and I just stopped using them in combination with one another.  This restorative cream, with Pro-12 Youth Optimizing Complex reinvigorates the skin to initiate a cascade of revitalizing effects so trust me, I was willing to stop the use of some of my other serums temporarily while using this one to achieve the results it has been offering me.

Honestly, I have tried so many products over the years – from drugstore to luxury brands… but this one here from StriVectin will continue to be a favorite.  I love skin care products and developing a skin care regimen that works well for me.  I have always enjoyed products from StriVectin before, but this one has really been the icing on the cake for me.  So many products can offer a variety of benefits, but this one definitely gave me that “heaven sent” feeling.  I know, I know… you’re wondering if this product is worth it?  I have already saved up and purchased this product once to replenish the initial one that was sent to me for review.  I’ll be honest, it was a hard cost on my pocket book… and I’m not sure how often I can buy it consistently, but I’ll certainly try.  We all know I love to keep it real here and I’m not gonna sugar coat a thing – if you read a review and I say I like it, I truly do… but this product – I absolutely love!  I went through 6 months of trial and tribulation, even buying the product myself to make sure and I can say – without a doubt, this product is a favorite for sure.

The Biotin Bursts are soy, wheat, lactose, palm oil, yeast and artificial flavor free.  It is Gluten Free!  You basically take one chew daily and let the product do the work.  I take so many different types of medicines due to different health ailments and I certainly am not a fan of taking an additional pill to help with the strength of my hair, so I love that I can have a chew that taste great.  I did mention that before, right?  It really does taste great.  My husband has been taking these with me and we have really enjoyed it.

Each Biotin Burst is individually wrapped and like I mentioned before, you need only take one chew daily.  They taste like a berry chew and don’t have any chalky or weird after taste at all.  If you are a fan of Acai berry or strawberry and blueberry mix, I think you’ll enjoy the flavors of these because it reminds me of a combination of those flavors.  With 10,000 MCG of Biotin you get enough of that hair and nail supplement for daily intake.  I just love that it’s so easy to take without any funky flavor, pills to swallow or yuck!

Over the last couple of months of taking this supplement, I have noticed that my hair is stronger and tangles a lot less.  There is less breakage and shedding which is something I notice immediately because my hair naturally sheds a lot.  In combination with some of my favorite hair products, I have noticed that my hair has really improved and over the last couple of months.  Summer takes a beating on my hair and leaves it dry and brittle and I noticed with the use of the Biotin Bursts along with my other hair care faves, my hair seems to handle the Hawaii heat nicely.

Does It Work? Spray Perfect, Spray On Nail Polish Review – As Seen On TV

Beauty trends are something that are constantly changing and evolving and sometimes – we even throwback to fun trends and ideas from our past that are timeless.  When it comes to trends, I absolutely love trying the new ones when they make their way to the spotlight and test them for myself to see what the hype is all about.  One that has made its way to different beauty outlets and brands is the “spray on nail polish” trend.  Using a polish in a spray can (similar to spray paint), the concept is to spray the nail polish onto your nails for a quick and easy manicure.  I was immediately taken by this concept – being a mother and knowing that waiting for a coat of polish to dry is literally like watching paint do the same, so I definitely thought it was cool.  There are several brands out there that offer similar products, so when Spray Perfect sent over a few for me to try, I was excited to give it a go.

Spray Perfect retails for $19.99 (an additional shipping & processing fee of $4.95).  The website states they are having a special “Double Offer” which gives you a choice of 2 colors + 1 Base/Top Coat.  If you purchase outside of their “Double Offer” then they are regularly priced for $19.99 each.  Spray Perfect offers 7 shades – Racy Red, Sexy Silver, Naked Nude, Party Pink, Passion Purple, Whimsical White and Black Beauty.  I received Sexy Silver and Naked Nude as the colors to try out.

Note:  For my Hawaii readers – Spray Perfect’s website states they can only offer Continental US shipping only.  Since we are used to these types of situations, it’s probably because of the flammable shipping.  

Sleek packaging reminiscent of a spray can, the concept is simple and easy to grasp and use.  Using the product is also quite simple and I really like the ease of use.  It’s as easy as using a base coat to apply to the nails, then spraying your polish color of choice and topping with the top coat (which happens to be the base coat too).  Spray Perfect says they offer the world’s fastest manicure that dries in under a minute.  It’s new technology offers color that only adheres to nails and washes easily from your skin.  You get quick, complete coverage on your nails & only your nails.  With a little rubbing to remove the excess polish from your skin, you are going to save money and stop going to the salon for a mani that’s quick and easy.

So let’s chit chat a bit about the process.  The first time I used the products, doing so was really easy and the directions were easy to follow.  I painted my nails with the base coat / top coat and allowed them to dry.  It states on the bottle not to “blow on your nails” to help them dry but let them dry naturally.  That was easy to follow.  Once the base coat dries, spray your nails the desired color.

Spraying my nails was quite easy.  The nozzle was easy to press and the bottle is small enough to still offer you good control using both your left and right hand regardless of whichever is the dominant one.  I was quite impressed with the overall feel with the product while I used it.  I opted to spray my nails with two coats to make sure the color was bold enough for me to see.  Immediately after spraying my left hand, I realized that the color really does stick well to the parts where I painted with base coat and it started to lightly flake off or rub off on the other parts of my fingers.  But, after one coat and then spraying the second coat, I could tell that the colors were not the same as the swatch on the bottles.  Each color – the Naked Nude & Sexy Silver were different in shade than the swatch portrayed on the bottle as well as the swatches on the website page.

The silver really reminded me of a spray paint type of texture and applied unevenly – whether with one or two coats.  I tried it with three coats, but it didn’t seem to fix the issue so I assumed it was just the formulation of the color.  The nude one seemed to apply much more evenly, though, each one definitely had a rough or matte like (like spray paint) texture on the nails before I applied the Top Coat.  Once the Top coat was applied, it seemed to leave an even texture with a glossy finish.  You could still see any patchy places that the paint did not apply well, but it wasn’t bad.

After spraying the two coats of each color, I let it dry a few minutes and then painted with the top coat.  I didn’t clean up my fingers from the over spray till after the top coat dried completely.  The total process from base coat, to two coats of color and the top coat took about 15 minutes.  But, I liked that each of the polishes and base/top coat dried fairly quickly.  Once it dried, about two minutes each layer, I moved onto the next layer and once the top coat dried – about 2 minutes after painting the last nail with the top coat, my nails seemed like they were dried well and I could be on my way if I wanted to.

Washing off and removing the over spray on my fingers was really easy.  I simply washed my hands and with a little rubbing (literally), I was able to get off the over spray and my manicure was good to go.  Any place on my nails that did not have the base and top coat were left clean.  The entire process, while there were some extra steps than a traditional manicure, went by fairly easy.

Now – let’s talk about the longevity of the manicure.  I wash dishes several times a day and I’m pretty brutal on my hands.  I actually liked the fact that they didn’t chip in the first 24 hours like many nail polishes can do, depending on the top coat.  But, it did chip on me by the end of the 2nd day – not dramatically, but I noticed it.  I don’t think anyone would have really noticed it unless I showed them, but I noticed it when it did chip.

Besides washing off the excess polish and over spray, I didn’t really need to do much clean up.  I didn’t go through and clean up any edges of the polish so you could see how much of it was covered and how much was removed.  Taking off the nail polish to change colors was easy!  It removed with my basic nail polish remover without any issues.  Acetone remover or non-acetone, it didn’t matter, both removed them easily and without any issues.

Oh – one note I forgot to add… it smells like a nail polish and spray paint blend, so this is something you definitely want to do in a well ventilated area.  I also suggest protecting your furnishings because the over spray can definitely stain other things.

Overall – I think the concept is definitely fun.  It’s convenient and while the process is lengthy, I really loved the drying time on the top coat and the polish.  Right after putting the top coat on and it drying, I was able to wash dishes and fold clothes without any smudging – it was completely dry.  Because of this, I think this would be a nice option for a night out or something where you could devote 15 minutes to a nice manicure but have it ready to go for a night out.  It’s costly however, if you don’t get the deal – then you are looking at spending $20 for a spray on polish which requires the base/top coat to get the job done.  Like with all things, I think it really is up to the user and it could be something fun and useful for anyone that likes this kind of stuff.  The concept is cool and definitely interesting.  Would I buy it or purchase another color?  Hmmm… I think I would if it shipped to Hawaii or if I was able to get the Double deal.  It’s definitely something fun for a sleepover or a night out where you need a nice manicure that sets in a short amount of time.  I think that it’s fun to check out, but I would only do so with a good deal, otherwise, it’s something I would pass on.  It’s a bit pricey for just one bottle on its own.

If you are a runner – you would absolutely love this water.  I will drink one of these after a workout and immediately notice a difference.  It is great for muscles as well and really helps with recovery.  I noticed that after a workout, I don’t often get much swelling and pain, if any at all and the only change I made to my supplements or diet has been the HFACTOR water.  An increase in energy and overall wellness. FarmHouse Fresh offers tea lovers (but not just for tea lovers) a delicious body scrub that is refreshing, nourishing and smells divine.  The Sweet Tea Body Polish temps the senses with essences of ginger, peach and white tea and exfoliates the rough spots and hydrates your skin with vitamin-enriched Shea Butter.  It literally reminds me of those lazy summer afternoons on the front porch, sipping sweetened ice tea.  It’s a great treat for hands, feet, legs and elbows and provide the perfect pampering for your body.

My favorite way to use this scrub is while I’m giving myself a manicure or when my hands need a little TLC.  This polish rubs nicely over my sensitive hands and sloths away all the dry skin – leaving my hands feeling wonderfully soft and moisturized.

It’s perfect on days when I need to push back my cuticles or just need a little love if I’ve been washing dishes and my hands are dry.  I love that it instantly works to leave my hands feeling soft and smelling great.

I mentioned that I loved the scent of this body polish.  It’s fragrance is definitely addicting.  It reminds me of a sugary, vanilla scent with a hint of coconut.  It reminds me of a sweet tea fragrance with a dash of coconut water.  I love it and love the way my body smells after using this body polish.  My skin feels soft and smooth and it’s moisturized all day without any sticky residue, weird oily feeling or anything of the sort.  Once you wash off the body polish – you are left with great skin.
