Who doesn’t like a good cleansing facial oil? Well, prior to trying new brands, I had used my Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil “my holy grail, must-have, cure all” product as not only a facial and body moisturizer, hair serum/oil, facial cleanser and makeup remover as the facial oil of choice.  Of course, you could call me pretty biased, but I really wasn’t going to try any new brands.  However, recently I have had the opportunity to try out a Cleansing Facial Oil from Insta Natural (which is a brand I love for skin care products already) and I knew I had to try it out.

Cleansing Facial Oils are all the craze now a days as they are beginning to replace normal cleansers that we can buy to remove dirt, grime and makeup.  While it is becoming a new trend, using oil to remove makeup has been around for years… in fact, my mom would tell me that my dad suggested she use Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Coconut Oil to remove her makeup years before it started to become popular.  A best kept secret for many years, it is now something you hear about often all over the internet, on television and in magazines.

Insta Natural’s Gentle & Reviving Deep Cleansing Facial Oil ($49.95 Retail – on sale for $19.95, 4 fl oz / 120 ml) is a skin and pore purifier and makeup remover.  Said to be the fastest, easiest way to banish dirt, grime and makeup from your face – application is easy and so is the removal.  Simply massage a small amount of the facial wash into your skin to take off all the dirt and makeup.  I have enjoyed using this especially to remove my waterproof mascara or lash adhesive.  It works well and doesn’t leave my face feeling dry or my eyes irritated like some cleansers can do.  It’s still delicate enough to not strip your skin of natural oils that you need to keep your skin soft and moisturized and your skin doesn’t feel oily after washing it off.  I like to put a little of the cleanser on my finger tips to remove eye makeup or put some of the facial oil on a cotton pad or cotton ball and gently rub on my face to remove the dirt.  I then rinse it off with warm water and pat my face dry with a clean cloth.

The dispenser is very easy to use, simply just push down on the pump and your facial oil is dispensed.  You can decide whether or not how you want to apply and use it.  Like I said depending on what I need to take off, I will use appropriately.

Key Ingredients: Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Essential Oils, Hemp Oil, Tamanu Oil, and Seabuckthorn Oil.

Now if you have never used a cleansing oil before to clean your face, it may be a bit different from what you expect a cleanser to do.  If you already have oily or acne prone skin, it may also seem like you are doing something completely wrong by adding oil to your skin to clean it when your skin already over produces oil.  However, sometimes many don’t realize that your skin may be overproducing oil because it is not moisturized and therefore your skin is overcompensating for lack of moisture.  While that may not be the case for everyone, I definitely suggest trying a facial cleansing oil to see how it would work for you.  I use some form of oil whether coconut oil, Argan oil or Rosehip oil to moisturize my face at least once a day and over the last two years my skin went from break outs to barely a pimple in site.

insta natural cleansing oil

This facial cleanser does have a light fragrance that smells almost like jojoba oil (probably because it includes jojoba oil) and while it does have Lavender Essential oil, the scent of lavender is not over powering and just light enough to where you can smell a hint of it, but it doesn’t drive me nuts.  Since I have very dry skin, this has definitely made a difference in my skin care routine, keeping my skin soft and moisturized even before adding my serums and moisturizer.  I loved that I was able to get through the summer months without a severe eczema flare up because my skin stayed supple. While this is a liquid / oil like textured product, it doesn’t feel “oily” and cleanses the skin while locking in the much needed moisture our skin needs.

insta natural rosehip seed oil

Along with Insta Natural’s Cleansing Facial Oil I have also been using the 100% Pure Rosehip Seed Oil ($49.95 Retail – On Sale for $21.95 / 4 fl.oz.) in my skin care regimen.  This organic oil is rich in essential fatty acids, including Linolenic, Linoleic and Oleic Acid (Omega 3,6 & 9) along with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Antiioxidants and Beta-Carotene.  This can be used on your face, hair, nails and skin as a restorer that helps to heal your skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, age spots, scars and stretch marks and provides hydration for your skin as well as reviving your natural skin color.  I have been loving this product for my stretch marks (yes, I have lots of those… remember – 2 births and one I carried twins. lol) as well as using on some of my acne scars.  I do have to be a bit careful with the use of this product however, because sometimes I feel like I look a little more “tanned” then I should be, though it does even out my skin tone quite nicely.

Ingredients
100% Pure USDA Certified Organic Rosehip Seed Oi. NO CHEMICALS, NO ADDITIVE, NO ADDED FRAGRANCE. Imported from Chile.

This has an amber yellowish tint to it so I while it soaks into the skin really nicely, keep in mind that spilling this can stain.  Also the smell… do not expect this to smell like roses because the scent is a little… hmmm…. I can’t even explain it.  It reminds me of taking a fish oil capsule and a strong scented vitamin – it’s strong but luckily it doesn’t last too long.  I use this product mostly in the evenings because of the scent and if you are sensitive to smell, I probably wouldn’t use it during the day.  Overall this makes a great addition to my skincare regimen and I also suggested it to a friend who has been suffering from inflammation of the skin and acne breakouts and she has been enjoying it.

While I think that any of the products mentioned in this post could be beneficial for many – especially if you have dry skin I also know that sometimes what works for others may not work for some.  I do suggest trying it out and seeing how it works for you or discuss with your dermatologist.  I use several different products from the Insta Natural line (you can see other products I have reviewed: Argan Oil Hair Treatment and Youth Express Eye Gel) and have been loving their skincare line altogether.  Have you heard of facial cleansing oils before and have your tried any?  What about Rosehip oil?  What are your thoughts on these items?

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I would be lying if I didn’t say that I’m pretty brutal on my hair… I brush it when I’m not supposed to, color it often and since it’s naturally curly I shouldn’t yank and pull on it, but I always do.  I’m pretty lucky that my hair didn’t decide to grow some legs and walk off my head in horror yet, but thankful that with all of the damage I’ve done to it – it still hangs around.  Since finally realizing that I need to take better care of my hair, I have been using a variety of masks to increase the strength of my hair as well as give my locks some new life.  In the last month I have been using the Pure & Essential Minerals Morocco Argan Oil Restorative Hair Treatment Mask as a part of my hair care regimen and wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Retailing at $29.99 (currently on sale for $15.99) this mask comes with 4 oz of product – enough to last you at least one month with consistent use.  Application is easy… after shampooing, apply a generous amount of the mask all over wet hair and comb product through from roots to ends.  Let it sit for 5-15 minutes (I usually let it sit for about 15 minutes) and then rinse the product out thoroughly.  The directions state that you can use the mask daily, weekly or anytime you need an extra boost of moisture in your hair.  While I love the mask, I do notice that it causes me to break out along my hair line, so I use this mask once a week only and if my ends need a little extra moisture, I can concentrate it on my hair ends a few times a week if I feel the need.

PURE & ESSENTIAL MINERALS Morocco Argan Oil

The mask has a strong Argan Oil scent, so if you are not too fond of that fragrance, this may not be an easy product for you to work with since it will be on your hair.  Once you rinse the product off – the scent still lingers.  I had a hard time with it and I can imagine that those that are not huge on the fragrance may experience the same issues.  The consistency of the product is nice… it’s thick enough but not too thick – if that makes any sense.  It reminds me of a smoothie consistency – thick, but still a liquid like mask – not firm.

Ingredients include:  Certified Organic Argan Oil, Organic Aloe Juice, Organic Castor Oil, Pro-Vitamin B5, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Meadowfoam Oil.

Morocco Argan OilThe story…

For centuries, the Berber women of Morocco have treated their hair and skin with pure organic Argan oil.   Often called liquid gold, argan oil is a super rich antioxidant, full of essential fatty acids and more than double the vitamin E found in olive oil.

For my Vegan friends – this product is Vegan certified and Cruelty Free.  It contains zero harsh chemicals, parabens, fragrances or artificial ingredients.  This product penetrates the hair shaft to restore essential moisture and recontructs/replenishes dull, weak and damaged hair.  Since it includes organic Aloe Juice, organic Castor Oil and organic Coconut Oil, it provides essential benefits for your hair.  Pro-Vitamin B5 is used to deliver instant, long-lasting rejuvenation and life to your hair as well.  This product is a part of Fair Trade and is 100% Pure – using Moroccan Argan Oil sourced from Berber Women’s Co-Operatives in the Argan region of Morocco.  So, your purchase directly benefits these women’s cooperatives, who receive fair trade prices for their hand-crafted 100% pure Argan Oil.

My Overall Thoughts…

My hair responded well to this mask and while I didn’t enjoy the scent of the product, my ends of my hair seemed like it looked and felt healthier than before.  This product left my hair soft and smooth and it also was not as frizzy as it normally is during this time of year.  My hair definitely felt moisturized after each treatment and I also noticed that I didn’t experience as much breakage as I normally do.  Packaging is okay – the product comes in a jar that you have to dig your hands / fingers into to get the product.  It’s not my favorite form of getting product out – but it’s okay.  My only critiques is that my hair is super long and therefore I use more product on my hair than the average person.  Because of this, I clean through a jar of this product very quickly so the 4 oz Jar did not last me a month.  Of course, if you have shorter hair, it will give you a lot more use – but for me, I used up the contents of the bottle very quickly.  Like I mentioned previously, the scent of the product is stronger than I had expected.  Those that do not like the scent of Argan Oil may have a hard time with this product.  While it is not the only scent you smell (natural oils like Coconut oil and Aloe are also included), the natural fragrance may be too much for you.

Money Back Guarantee…  I love this!  Pure & Essential Minerals stands behind their product.  When you try their Natural Restorative Hair Mask for 30 days, if you are not completely satisfied – you can return it for a full refund.  The price of this product is affordable and offered me some pretty awesome results.  My hair enjoyed soaking up all the ingredients offered and I think it would definitely be worth the try since you can try this product Risk Free.

Argan Oil is all the talk on the town now a days and a treatment that has been bringing life back to hair for a really long time.  I’m a coconut oil girl and use it daily, because Argan oil usually causes my hair line to break out, but I’ve been really enjoying the benefits of Arvazallia and their Argan oil treatments.  Are you looking for beautiful, silky and healthier looking hair?  Are you interested in adding some kind of Argan oil to your hair routine but are so confused due to the vast selections now available on the market?  Well, check out my thoughts on this professional line and see if it will work for you.

Arvazallia Professional Series Hair

If you have been a follower of my blog or YouTube channel for a little while, you will know that while I do really like Argan oil, it’s not something I use all the time in my hair because it causes my hair line to have a little break out now and then when I use it.  I’m a Coconut oil and Macadamia oil gal and have been now over the last two years.  Does this mean I don’t use Argan oil, no… I still do – but normally save it for days when my skin is in check and I can use it without worrying that it will cause any affects.  With that said, I have been using this product now for the last two weeks and have been using it with some of my favorite hair care products.  I am not only impressed with this particular argan oil but I am liking it a lot!

Arvazallia Premium Argan Oil Hair Treatment

Arvazallia Professional Series Premium Argan Oil Hair Treatment (3.4 fl. oz.) retails for $45.00 and the bottle is huge.  If you have long hair like me – you will surely love the size of this product because it will last you a while.  I love that the bottle it comes in is clear so you can see exactly how much product you have left and of course, it has a gorgeous design which I think would look beautiful on any vanity – even if only for display.

Product claims:

  • Improve Manageability – Makes even frizzy and difficult to manage hair silky, soft and easier to manage.
  • Awakens Dull Hair – Provides hair with a radiant and magnificent shine.
  • Restore Damaged Hair – Nourishes, Strengthens, and Restores damaged, over-processed and brittle hair.
  • Color Enhancer – Enhances color treatments by helping to ensure color is applied evenly.
  • Heat Protection – Protects hair from damage when curling or using flat irons.

There are several ways you can use the product for your hair… Styling, Repair and for Coloring.  For styling – you can use a small amount and put in the palm of your hands like you would other hair oils and massage into your hair from root to ends.  You can apply on towel dried hair – but I use it on my damp hair so that it helps to eliminate any frizz in my curly tresses.  If you have any loose hairs for second day hair or when your hair is dry – simply apply a small amount to your ends or to help with frizz.  I’m super sensitive to funky scents and I am happy to announce that this particular product doesn’t really have a heavy smell.  It does have a scent, though I wasn’t able to pin point what it smelled like and it didn’t bother me at all.  I didn’t get any break outs on my hair line and I love the consistency.  The product is like any oil, not too thick but applies and works into the hair nicely.  I also love the pump bottle that it comes in – definitely a plus to keep from messy application.

Arvazallia Hydrating Argan Oil Mask

The Arvazallia Professional Series Hydrating Argan Oil Mask (8.45 fl.oz.) retails for $40.00 and just like the Argan Oil treatment, this mask offers a pretty nice amount of product so I think that it is definitely worth the cost considering the size.  The mask is fairly thick so if you have long hair as I do – it may take a little more than you may be used to to work the product through your hair.

Product claims:

  • Repairs and Revitalizes Damaged Hair
  • Repairs, Restores, and Strengthens weak, damaged and overprocessed hair
  • Reinvigorates Dry Hair – Deeply conditions, hydrates and moisturizes hair giving it a soft and silky texture
  • Improves Elasticity and Manageability – revives dull and dry hair improving its manageability and elasticity and giving it a beautiful shine.
  • Strengthens Hair – nourishes hair with the highest quality cosmetic grade Argan oil rich in essential vitamins and nutrients
  • Heat Protection – Protects and Shields Hair from Damage Caused by Heat Styling

Directions state that to use this product – apply a generous amount of product to clean and towel-dried hair.  Comb the treatment through hair and leave in for 5 to 7 minutes then rinse.  Use 1-2 times a week.  I have used this product twice in the last couple of weeks since I have had it.  I apply it directly to my hair prior to taking a shower so I did change up the process to suit my own needs.  Overall I’m pretty impressed.  The hair ends seem to be revived and don’t look as dry as they can be – especially during this time of the year.  I love the scent, it’s slightly floral but sweet – it that makes any sense at all.  But if you are someone that it kind of sensitive to fragrance, I do not think it is too over powering for you to use.  My hair felt soft and silky after using it.

Arvazallia Professional Series Hydrating Argan Oil Treatments

Overall – I am super duper impressed with these products and it doesn’t amaze me one bit that the reviews on Amazon are as great as they are.   If you are looking for an Argan oil that will give you all the great benefits argan oils do without leaving your hair with a funky residue or in my case, break me out – then I think you would like these a lot.  My hair was left feeling soft and manageable, my frizz reduced dramatically and I even noticed that the color in my hair seemed much more vibrant, almost as if I had just colored it recently – it is not as dull as it normally is, seeing as my last color was several months ago.  I’ve been reading about the products from others and I’m very happy to say that many have had similar results – so I’m very proud that I have been able to try out this product and enjoy it.

Yay… I had the awesome opportunity to get my second ever Voxbox from Influenster.  I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t completely excited for it – because in the past the box took over a month to arrive and there was two instances I was approved for Boxes and it turned out that since I lived in Hawaii – I couldn’t get any.  I’m glad that they have improved on their qualifications over the last few years (I originally signed up in 2011) so I have the opportunity to part-take in the fun.
