A few months ago I shared with all of you my thoughts on the Foreo ISSA Toothbrush.  I had positive things to say with a few improvement with regard to this teeth cleaning device.  You can read my review on this product here.  While it is something I continue to use, I was very interested in trying out the latest addition to the ISSA range called the ISSA Hybrid Brush Head.  I have been testing and using this product for about a month now and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you as well as my overall review.

The Foreo ISSA Hybrid Brush Head is a Silicone + PBT Polymere brush head that fits on the current Foreo ISSA toothbrush.  This Hybrid is specifically designed for those who desire a vigorous brushing of their teeth but still looking for a gentle touch on their gums.  It’s the next revolutionary oral-care device that is strong on plaque buildup yet gentle on the gums for whiter teeth and a healthy mouth and confident smile.

This brush is interesting to me as it has some of the similar traits to the original with a slightly different design.  The Hybrid Design is specifically engineered to utilize the soft, gentle silicone bristles for the gum area (hello bonus, because that is what I currently use the original ISSA for – massaging and cleaning my gums), but it also integrates the PBT polymer bristles on the inner segment of the brush head to cover the surface area of the teeth.  The hybrid design will not only massage and clean your gums gently, but will offer a stronger cleaning experience on the teeth, making it idea for those with more plaque buildup.  Foreo took suggestions for those like myself and really took the time to develop something that now works for an all over clean.  The original brush head (while something I still use) didn’t clean my teeth to that squeaky goodness I enjoyed but did really massage and clean my gums so I made that suggestion for improvement.  I’m so happy that Foreo listened to all of us and made the change appropriately.

The Hybrid solution offers a unique brush head with both silicone and PBT polymer bristles to help deliver the clean we all want why still offering a comfortable massage on the gums.  With the sonic pulse technology of the brush base, the bristles channel 11,000 high intensity pulsations per minute for effective cleaning.  The Silicone and PBT polymer harbor less bacteria than traditional brushes thanks to their natural properties and you need only replace your brush head every 6 months thanks to that bonus.  The brush has a smart design with a 3D flexible brush head.  Because of this you can reach every crevice of the mouth and the bristles have strong resistance making them durable to last up to the 6 months before having to replace.  What I love is that this is so travel friendly.  This brush’s charge lasts up to 365 days worth of use and fully charges in an hour so you don’t need to have your charging dock with you when on the go.  The hybrid brush head really incorporates all the great things I loved about the original with greater cleaning benefits and still offers what I need.

The brush is is 100% waterproof and can be used with your existing ISSA.  If you don’t have one, then of course – you would purchase the whole unit. It includes all the benefits of the original toothbrush and I still love that I get my two minute brushing timer so I know when I can stop and how long to keep brushing.  The Foreo ISSA Hybrid brush head replacement retails for $20 which I consider to be a steal considering you are replacing your regular toothbrushes every 3 months on average.  I am really loving this new brush head and find that I am enjoying my Foreo ISSA unit much more with the inclusion of the Hybrid brush head.  I am so glad that Foreo made improvements because my teeth now feel cleaner and happy.

The lip batters are made of an anti-aging cocktail of Vitamin E, Green Tea, and white tea with a light vanilla scent inspired by fresh macarons (which is one of the reasons why these appeal to me so much, I love macarons).  Lucie + Pompette products are Vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free.  Applying them is easy.  You can apply the gloss liberally and allow 10 seconds for the lip batter’s smoothing cushion to set on the lips.  Once applied, voluptous lips can be enjoyed all day.  The lip batter can be layered to create a more pronounced lip line as well.

Each lip batter has a flexible applicator which allows the product to hug each curve of the lips, providing a flawless, precise application.  The glosses have a sheer tint of color which is infused with subtle, light-reflecting pigments to add to the illusion of fuller lips.  There is a light delicate tingle that stimulates blood flow to the lips for a natural plumping effect.  While this is a plumping type of gloss, it doesn’t burn or have an uncomfortable sensation as others on the market and since the tint of the gloss is sheer, you can wear it alone or over your favorite lip sticks or lip products.  It feels comfortable on the lips though it does have a sticky like texture.  The light tingling sensation can last up to 10 minutes but it never feels weird or burning, uncomfortable or unable to bare.

Since the tint of the gloss is so sheer against my lips or skin, I didn’t swatch it for you – but I consider this more of a clear gloss on my skin and it really doesn’t show up otherwise.  It’s the perfect topper or can be used on its own, I only suggest that you may want to wear your hair pulled back because my hair gets stuck to my lips when I’m using it.  Since I have pretty full and plump lips already, I didn’t notice much plumping going on from the product but I did however like the fact that my lips seemed to look very smooth with a great glossy texture.

Another fun accessories is the Lucie Bag ($18.50).  This cosmetic clutch from Lucie + Pompette is absolutely adorable.  It is 3.5″ x 7.5″ in size and while it’s tiny, it is the perfect bag for travel to carry all of your beauty essentials.  It’s french inspired and features a glossy white exterior printed with the signature illustrations from Lucie + Pompette and a lined interior.  I love the details of this little clutch and the Eiffel Tower Charm is absolutely gorgeous.  I absolutely love the artist design and the drawing is so feminine and sweet.  It would make a great gift for any beauty lover or that sweetie in your life.  Totally Chic and those that love Paris… would love this!

Let’s face it – shopping for men can be a challenge for anyone and today I am hoping I make your shopping trip a little easier for you.  I am the only girl (woman) in a house filled with men (my husband and 3 sons) so shopping for me is a breeze once I know their style.  Knowing the style of your special gentlemen is key in finding a gift that will suit them.  Most men are not very picky and if they are, you should know by now what they do and don’t like.  Use those things as inspiration to do your shopping and hopefully the gifts I share with you will give you a little idea as to where to start.  Here is my Gift Guide for the Man in your life – use this information wisely. lol

Unconventional Gift Idea: Let me start off by saying, if you are shopping for your husband, fiance or boyfriend and want something a little special and you’re comfortable doing so – boudoir shots or just a really pretty glam shot of you framed in a nice setting could be a great option as a gift.  I didn’t list it above, but it has been a great choice for me a few times already.  There is no need for any nudity and it can be tastefully done and look wonderful.  That makes a great Valentine’s Day gift as well.  One year I took head shots in a pretty top and had my hair styled and makeup done.  My husband still carries it in his wallet.

1. Men’s Arm Candy – I’m a watch addict (most people know this), so each year I buy my husband a new watch either for Christmas or his birthday which is Dec. 1st.  I have my favorite brands to buy him and because of his job G-Shock tends to be a really great brand for wear and can handle his daily use for his job.  There are many other brands out there to select from.  Some of my favorites include:  G-Shock, Invicta, Fossil, ESQ, JORD and Martin & MacArthur.

2. Skin care – My husband has sensitive skin and is always looking for products that will not only work for him but that will be gentle on his skin.  A favorite in our house is Menaji Skin Care for Men.  This brand offers a variety of skin care products for the man in your life including Masques, Shave creams, eye gels and more.  Menaji has an awesome set called:  The David Skin Care Set that includes four travel sized goods in a very cool expandable travel case.  Each product included in the set comes from their “Most Popular” and has a retail value of $135.95 but is currently on sale for $79.00.  This is a great gift for the man who travels for work or who just loves to keep his skin great.

3. Scarf – If you live in a cold climate… it’s normal to see men walking around with scarves.  It is not the norm here in Hawaii, but I figured I would include it.  Scarves can range in cost from affordable to high end and luxury prices, but a great scarf that gives a man a little swagger is always a great find.  If scarves are not your thing, a great necktie or beenie would be a great fit as well.

4. Fedora or a new Hat– Hats are a huge hit in our house and man we surely have a very large collection.  One of my husband’s favorites (and mine since I tend to take them from him) are Fedoras.  They are classic and make sure a great statement piece to any ensemble.  Fedora’s are fun because they come in different fabric and style and have a variety of colors to choose from.  They offer a swagger to them that most men will like and look really classy.  My husband can wear his with anything but looks quite dapper in a full suit topped with a Fedora.  I totally suggest one of these and they can be the perfect topper to a great outfit.  If your man may not like a Fedora or it may not be his style – a regular hat or something he will enjoy will be an awesome gift too.

5. T-Shirts – We all love a great cozy and soft t-shirt.  I will always pick up at least one t-shirt for my husband during the holiday as a gift.  This year with Star Wars releasing just before Christmas, what better gift than a Star Wars shirt.  A fun cool saying or a neat Star Wars graphic will be a great addition to any man’s wardrobe, especially one who is a Star Wars fan.

6. A New Belt – Ah, nothing says love like buying a new belt – right?  Well, it may not be a traditional choice for a gift, but belts make great gifts for the Father or Father in Law figure in your life.  It’s a professional yet stylish gift that can be purchased in a variety of colors, types like leather or fabric, choice of buckle and even price range.  There are so many available.  I am a huge fan of Coach so when I look at belts, Coach is my go-to for something like this.  But, don’t be afraid – there are a ton of them available to choose from.

Of course, there are other items I like to pick up for my husband including some new tools or drill bits, electronic stuff he can use in his car or even some new knives for cooking but these are some items that will make for fun gifts.  If you have that techie man that has his eye on a new phone case or someone who enjoys music, there are so many items out there to choose from.

  • Music Lover – Amazon Prime Music or Spotify membership.
  • Techie or Smart phone addict – E Gift Card to iTunes or Google Play for their favorite apps.
  • Chef – a new set of Santoku knives or a new saute pan.
  • Sports fanatic – something with their favorite sports team logo.

Remember, the key to shopping for the man in your life is to know their style and what they love.  Once you have all that information set – the rest is easy peezy and shopping is a breeze.  In fact, you can get most of everything you need from online shopping and you don’t even have to step foot outside your door or get out of your PJs.  I hope the holiday shopping is going well for all of you.  Do you have a man that is hard to shop for?  If so – I hope you can find the perfect gift for him this year!
