Nail Care

Some of you may have seen me post my flower mani on Instagram last week.  Seeing as I was super sick, these little Spring inspired beauties didn’t make it onto my site at all when I originally created them – so I figured I would share them with you today.Ciate Flower Mani

To create this cute flower manicure I am using the Ciate Flower Manicure and also added Zoya’s Perrie (which is the gorgeous creamy opaque purple you see on my nails as the base).  The pink shade you see is the shade Candy Floss from Ciate – which included in the Flower Mani kit.  I am truly in love with the top coat that was included in the kit as well – it literally dried in just a few short minutes.  Believe it or not, I was able to wash dishes about 5 minutes after drying – AWESOME SAUCE.

Ciate Flower Manicure Kit

I have seen that Ciate has several different kits available with different flowers.  Considering how easy this was to apply – I am looking into getting my hands on a few more.  These are great to use for Spring and Summer and I am just in awe at how fun they look and how quick they were to apply.

Hope you enjoyed my little mani share.  Sorry I haven’t posted in a week or so – I’ve been so sick… I’m finally back in the groove again and can post! YAY!  Have a wonderful weekend!

I haven’t posted any nail looks this whole month because I cut my nails really short and wanted to wait for them to grow out a little before I went plastering them all over my blog. lol  Now that they have a little length – I figure I would grace my site with its presence once again. lol  This month I have been loving my new Zoya nail polishes that I hauled.  They are super gorgeous and definitely polish shades that I know I’ll gravitate to pretty often.

Diamond Sparkle Nails of the Week feat. Zoya

On my nails I am using the following polishes:

Zoya Rue (main nail color) – can be purchased on Zoya.com

Zoya Tomoko Pixie Dust Textured polish (accent nail) – can be purchased at Zoya.com

I do have my eyes on another Zoya Pixie – their new Magical Pixie in Cosmo, I’m adding that to my list to get it next.  If you know anything about me, it is that I love glitter and sparkle and let me just say… woohoo – I’m loving it!

Zoya Tomoko and Rue NOTW

So I’ll chit chat a little about the colors I have on my nails – a mini review so to say.

Rue is a nude pink toned nail polish that is opaque.  While I did do two coats for this look (I normally do regardless), it still has near full coverage after the first coat.  It is a cool toned cream and has a slight pearl sheen to it.  I love it and if you are a nude pink polish lover, I think you’ll love this shade.  The wear on this shade is really nice.  I have been  using it all month and it will take me a full week with washing dishes several times a day before I get any chipping.  Of course, I’m using it over a base and have a top coat – but I enjoy the wear and drying is fairly quick as well.

Tomoko is one of the Pixie Dust textured polishes.  It is a silver tone that looks almost like crushed diamonds because it does lend for a nice sparkle in certain lighting.  It is just about full coverage in one coat but I apply two coats over a base.  Wear for this polish and other textures from Zoya is fairly long for me and it can be a bit tricky to remove.  I tend to use the “soaked cotton ball” method to remove otherwise it can be a pain.  I haven’t had any trouble with chipping.  If you love silver polishes but are looking to switch it up a bit – I would surely give this a try, it’s gorgeous.

So, have you tried Zoya polishes before?  What are your favorites?

Holiday Tinsel - NOTW

I absolutely LOVE Tinsel… I don’t like to clean it up when it ends up on the floor – but I do love the way it looks and I especially love it on a Christmas tree.  During this time of year I am always on the hunt for cute nail polish that looks like Tinsel and I totally hit the jackpot while in Walgreens last month and found Gold Tinsel & Tinsel and Shine by Sinful Colors.  The price  point of course was awesome and I fell in love with how the tinsel looked in the bottle.  These polishes are fairly long lasting on the nails and reasonably easy to remove.  I absolutely love that Gold Tinsel looks like a mixture of Gold & Rose Gold which are favorites of mine.  I love gold/rose gold more than silver.  I wanted this look to be wearable, sparkly and just easy to create.  There is no difficulty in creating it.  After laying down the base coat (Julep) I added the tinsel polishes and then my favorite topper from elf (fairy) to add just a little bit more sparkle and shine.  Then topped it off with Sinful colors top coat.  Easy – fast and I’m out the door and ready to go.

Everyone knows that IDK from China Glaze is quite possibly one of my most favorite  nail polishes – EVER.  I have a huge love for purple… and have my fair share of purple polishes, but this one just catches my fancy and it’s been a favorite of mine for quite a few years.

I See Spots - NOTW

I have tried quite a bit of color combination and design combinations with IDK, but never really anything with black or white I am ashamed to say.  After picking up my Maybelline Clear Spotted Polka Dot polish from the Color Collection… I decided that I wanted to really do something fun with it.  This nail polish look was quick and I did enjoy doing it.  It’s fun and definitely something I will rock in different colors using the same type of design.
