A few months ago I was contacted by Alter Ego and asked if I wanted to take a test drive of their new (soon to be released) Temptress Palette. I have never heard of the brand before and I was absolutely intrigued, since the palette was said to be a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette. Since then, I have been using the palette and trying it out. Today, I’m going to be sharing with you my thoughts and swatches of the Alter Ego Temptress Palette. Do I like it? You’ll have to read on to see!
About The Alter Ego Temptress Palette
The Alter Ego Temptress Palette retails for $16.00. It comes with 14 gorgeously pigmented shades. I also got two brushes, a large shader brush and a blender brush. The Temptress palette launched in January of this year and is pretty much a perfect dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette. I don’t have the Sultry palette to compare for you, but after looking at it in person and comparing with my Temptress palette, I’m absolutely swooning over the similarities and quality.
The Temptress Palette features a mix of matte and metallic shades in a range of nude, golden and bronze type tones. The palette is Cruelty-free and paraben-free. It’s made in the PRC but is distributed and sold in the United States. The palette is a total steal for the quality and awesomeness you receive.

My Overall Thoughts
The shades are very pigmented. But, what I love about them is that they are not powdery like you’d expect from a cheaper, more affordable palette. The shadows are creamy, but not so buttery that it makes a mess. I also love that there is minimal to little fallout from the shadows. I can grab for this palette on a daily and use it on my lids for a pop of color or an everyday look. I have been wanting to purchase the ABH Sultry Palette and missed when it was on sale, so I decided it wasn’t for me. But, having this palette in my hands, I am not missing the Sultry palette at all.
The perfect Every Day Palette for looks that are effortless and easy to create.

I have been loving how great this palette blends on my mature eyelids. I’m just absolutely amazed with the quality of this product. I am also loving that Alter Ego has supreme customer service as they have been answering all my questions. I have already had several family members order this palette after I shared my thoughts with them. They are loving it as much as I am.
So, what about you? Do you think this would be a palette you’d be interested in checking out for yourself? I highly suggest trying it out. For the price point, it can’t be beat. And, you get a luxury and high-end product feel without the price point.

I’m so excited to share with you the Emily Edit Palettes, a collaboration between Makeup Revolution and EmilyNoel83, one of my favorite Beauty YouTubers. Who is EmilyNoel83? When…
When it comes to beauty products, I think eye shadows and eye shadow palettes are definitely some of my favorite things. I just love looking at all the pretty colors and I definitely think palettes are my weakness when it comes to purchases. Recently I was introduced to Shop Hush (an app and website that sells Bad Habit Beauty products) and I just had to pick up this set up palettes to add to my collection. Today I introduce you to the Solstice and Supernova eye shadow palettes.
I picked up both the Bad Habit Solstice and Supernova palettes off of ShopHush for $24.00 (for both) about a month ago. I definitely wanted to share these palettes with my readers and followers because for the price point, they are seriously – LEGIT!
Let’s talk about the Bad Habit Solstice Palette first. The Solstice palette retails for $16.00 if purchased separately. It has a mix of mattes, shimmers and glittery shades in warm hues. It’s gorgeous and I love that it includes colors that I can wear on an everyday basis. I was beyond impressed with each shadow and loved how buttery most of the shades were and how packed they were with pigment.
Many say that the Solstice Palette from Bad Habit Beauty is a dupe for the Natasha Denona Sunset Palette which retails for $129. I don’t own the Natasha Denona Sunset palette so I couldn’t tell you if it indeed is a dupe, but I can say that for a $16 palette, it definitely impressed me.
Because the shades are definitely soft and buttery, you do get some kick up and some fall out, but it’s not difficult to work with and each shade builds up perfectly. I am loving this as my everyday palette and I’m enjoying it tremendously.
Next I am sharing with you the Supernova Palette. Retailing for $16 on it’s own, this palette offers a combination of shades that are much cooler toned than the Solstice palette. That’s one of the reasons why I ordered them as a pair, I thought it would be a great way to check out two different tones of shades for different looks.
As with the Solstice palette, the Supernova palette provides a combination of matte, shimmer and glittery shades. I find that while each shade is also buttery (like the Solstice), it is not as creamy as the Solstice palette. To explain, the Solstice palette is so creamy that when dipping your brush into shades like Dawn, Rays and Twilight, your brush literally makes a big indention. However, with Supernova, placing your brushes into this palette doesn’t leave it as messy but still picks up a lot of color and blendability is great.
The Bad Habit Supernova palette is said to be a dupe for the Natasha Denona Lila Palette which retails for $129. As I mentioned with the Solstice palette, I do not have the Lila palette so I personally cannot compare the two to see if they are indeed dupes, however – I can tell you that for $16 – it’s definitely worth checking out.
Just like the Solstice palette, the Supernova palette provides you with a lot of texture and colors to be able to create a variety of looks. I’ve been loving the brown shades in this palette as accent colors to a smoky eye look.
Overall, I am absolutely digging these two palettes from Bad Habit Beauty. I’m impressed with how easy the shades from each palette blend as well as how gorgeous each color is. The price point of each considering the quality and how good they are, well – that absolutely seals the deal for me. I’ve already referred several friends to buy these and because of these, I’ve purchased several more palettes from Bad Habit Beauty and Shop Hush.
Definitely download the ShopHush. app on your phone (android and iPhone) and get rewards for logging in each day as well as free shipping on your orders. I can’t wait to share with you all of the other palettes I’ve purchased from the site, so stay tuned for that.
Have you tried any of the palettes on ShopHush? Or, what about Bad Habit Beauty? Let me know your thoughts, for sure. Would you pick up a dupe to a highend palette at an affordable price?

. I honestly think that I’ve been neglecting many of the brands that I have in my makeup collection and supplementing them for my Pixi Beauty favorites.…
If you do a search on this site, you’ll find that I am a huge fan of Beauty Junkees. While I’ve been a little out of sorts lately, there is one thing for sure… I’m loving the new goodies that Beauty Junkees has rolled out over the last few months. Since May I’ve been testing out some new finds and I’m very excited to share them with you. If you haven’t tried anything from Beauty Junkees yet, seriously – what are you waiting for?
Beauty Junkees collection of goodies really has evolved over the last year and I’m always excited to share with all of you what I’ve had the opportunity to try. This post may be a long one because I have a lot to share, so be prepared for that. It’s picture heavy – but hey, we all love a little makeup and eye candy, right? Let’s get into it.
Let’s start off with Beauty Junkees brand new Matte Liquid Lipsticks. They retail for $14.97 each and are very different from others on the market. They are water resistant so these make the perfect selection for hitting the beach without sacrificing color on your lips. They’ll last you all day. They are lightweight and feel really comfortable on the lips. They go on smooth, dry fast and are non-sticky. I love that they offer 3x the pigment than other liquid lipsticks currently available and offer a strain that feels good on. Made in the USA and paraben-free, gluten-free and of course – cruelty-free.
The shades I have swatched for you above are (left to right): Soul Mate, Metallic Sorbet and Dinner Party.
These liquid lippies are available in six gorgeous colors – Amaretto, Caramel Latte, Dinner Party, Metallic Sorbet, Soul Mate and Vampirette. There’s a color for anyone and a small but perfect range of shades for most if not all skin tones.
These lippies come in pretty fun frosted packaging and have easy to use doe foot applicators. The application is a breeze and I didn’t notice any streaking or smudges once it set on the lips. I like that you can top these with a gloss if you want a shiny look or wear on its own. These lippies are quite long lasting and overall, considering the price point and how nice they feel on, I’m pretty impressed.
Lip gloss sets and a great Vitamin E lippy are also on the list of lusts from Beauty Junkees new roll out. Let’s start with the Vitamin E Moisture Stick since it literally has been a favorite thing for me to use lately. Perfect for dry and chapped lips, this lip balm (retailing for $10.00) has been my go-to. Made with Vitamin E to help soothe and heal the lips and provide you with relief from minor sunburns while protecting the lips so you can enjoy fun in the sun. With long term use, the Vitamin E helps to block free radicals from damaging the skin cells and leaves your lips hydrated and moisturized. Paraben Free, Gluten Free, and Cruelty-Free as well as made in the USA. While this lip balm is in simplistic packaging, I think you’ll find that it will literally be a favorite once your lips feel it. No funky tastes or feel… just soft smooth lips. This has also been a favorite for me to use on top of any of my drying matte lipsticks to help rehydrate.
Because these are minis, they are travel and purse friendly, but there is still a lot of product that you can get out of these beauties.
The mini lip glosses also come in a 3pc. set. Mint Lip Gloss Sets are available in two different selections – Kissable and Loveable. I got the Loveable collection. I’m not a big gloss fan, if you have been around here a while, you know this about me. But I love a gloss that is perfect on the go, hydrating and not sticky. Well, these definitely do all of those for me. Retailing for $14.97, you get a 3 piece set that includes: Mint Sugar Glaze (matte finish) which goes on clear with a slight hint of peach, Mint Blossom (matte finish) has a mauve plum tint and Mint Charming (shimmer finish) that has a rose mauve pink tint. They are sheer glosses that go on smooth and are non-stick. These have been perfect for me to wear alone or to top my favorite matte lippy.
Beauty Junkees also released Eye Shadow Quads that includes four single shadows in magnetic refill pans. Each pan is 26mm (the perfect size to fill your makeup kit) and while they do not currently come in a quad, they are ready to be placed in a magnetic palette of your choice. (You can check out the one that Beauty Junkees offers here)
This particular collection of shades is called: From The Stars Metallic Collection Eye Shadow Quad
The colors you see swatches above (left to right) are: Star Gazing, Star Bright, Constellation, and Star Field.
These gorgeous metallic shades are some of my favorites from Beauty Junkees and I love how buttery and pigmented these shadows are. If you are looking to try some gorgeous neutral shades from the brand, I definitely suggest checking these out.
The Totally 80’s Collection Eye Shadow Quad offers fun and bold shades that are perfect for the rocker in your or for summer eye looks. This collection includes 4 single eye shadow pans in Break Dancing (Matte), Leg Warmers (Pearlized), Totally Awesome (Matte) and That’s So Rad (Matte Pearl).
Swatched above from left to right: Break Dancing, That’s So Rad, Leg Warmers, Totally Awesome. These particular shadows apply nicely on the eyes and are beautiful and bold over a good sticky base. I apologize for how soft the swatches look on my arm. Because I’m a little darker skin and I swatch without primer, the colors did not show up as well. But, they are quite pretty on the eyes for sure.
Each Quad retails for $19.97.
Now, let’s talk Blush and Highlight Duo, shall we? I’ve added these gorgeous beauties to my collection of blushes and highlights from Beauty Junkees (which you can see) but I wanted to let you know that if you purchased the Matte Blush and lightly frosted highlighter as a duo, that would cost $14.97 – a major steal.
I currently have the Peach Petal Collection (Peach Petal Blush & Pow! Highlighter) and Mauve Mist Collection ( Mauve Mist Blush and Pink Parfait Highlighter)
Peach Petal Collection – Peach Petal Blush & POW! Highlighter. This is the perfect summer blush and highlighter duo for me and I’ve been getting a ton of use out of these gorgeous beauties. If you are looking for some color with a hint of shimmer, these would be perfect for you. I think these shades look especially nice on a warm skin tone.
Mauve Mist Collection is also gorgeous. It includes Mauve Mist Blush and Pink Parfait Highlighter. I love Mauve Mist blush on me because it works so well with my deeper skin tone, and offers the perfect flush of color. Pink Parfait is a cool toned highlighter – I tend to use warmer tones or a blend of golds, but it’s still gorgeous on the cheekbones. It offers a gleam of highlight without looking too “Bam! What?!” when wearing it. It does have a little more shimmer than POW! but it’s still gorgeous nonetheless. If you’re interested in frosted highlighters but you want something that you can build up – you’ll enjoy this one.
Each blush and highlighter offer a great range of color for a lot of skin tones and I love that they are super pigmented. The highlighters can be a bit dusty and have fall out, so make sure you tap off the excess before applying to the face. Also – since the highlighters are so pigmented, I highly suggest using a fan brush or light hand when applying. The blushes while pigmented can be applied with a light hand for a flush of color to the cheeks or with a little more pressure for a bolder look.
Like I’ve mentioned before, it’s no secret that Beauty Junkees is a brand I truly love. Their brushes are my go-to’s and I haven’t bought any high-end brushes since. I love the overall quality of their cosmetic line and I absolutely enjoy seeing a small, woman run business expand their products to include some of my favorite tools and makeup items. If I had to choose one favorite item to try, it would be near to impossible. I hope that providing you with a few of the ones I’ve been working and playing with the last several months will help. Oh – let’s not forget about their sponges too… I won’t buy another expensive beauty blender again thanks to Beauty Junkees.
Check out some of my past posts I’ve done on Beauty Junkees products:
So, how about you? Do you have any of Beauty Junkees products on your radar to try? I definitely suggest heading on over to their website (listed above) to check out what they have to offer. There are many items I have tried from the brand that I can’t stop raving about and I highly suggest checking them out. If you’re interested in something but need a little advice, feel free to comment or message me and we can discuss personally.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.

I’m so excited to share with all of you this gorgeous upcoming collection for Zoya’s Fall 2017 Release. The Zoya Sophisticates collection includes a palette of smoldering nudes,…
Hello party people. It seems like I’ve been a little MIA this week, but I promise I have good reason as to why. You see, all three of my boys are on Spring Break, so that basically means mommy is on break too so we’ve been busy spring cleaning the house, donating and having lots of fun. So, I’ve taken a little break from the blog a few days this week to play and have some fun with my family. Nonetheless though, I wanted to share with you some products I’ve been loving from Jordana Cosmetics. The Contour N’ Highlight Sticks are new to me, having just come across them about 2 weeks ago at my local drugstore, but the Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lipsticks are a formula I know about and I was so excited to get my hands on some shades that are wearable. (You can read about my review on these from last year, here)
Let’s talk about the Contour N’ Highlight Sticks. These retail for $4.99 each and you can select from the Jordana Sculpt N’ Go Creamy Contour Stick which offers three different contour shades (Light, Medium and Deep) and come in an easy to use stick form. The Contour sticks help you add shape and definition to your features in 30 seconds or less. What makes these so fun is that they are mistake-proof, blendable and matte with a buildable formula for soft to glam looks. I have it in the color Deep, which is actually darker than I had thought but it blends out so well, the darker color works for my skin tone.
I use the Contour stick and apply below my cheekbones, jawline, hairline and sides of my nose. While the tip of this stick is pointed for great precision, after lots of use I’m sure it will take away the point but applying the product is still easy. I have been loving how easy this product is to blend out and the way it feels on my skin is wonderful. It has a kind of cream to powder texture. After applying, I blend it out to a powder like finish so it doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on the skin and I don’t notice that it oxidizes or looks too heavy. I love how light weight it feels and I’m very amazed at how much I’m enjoying this stick. It’s perfect for daily use for light contouring or for a full blown glammed up look.
The Jordana Glow N’ Go Creamy Strobing Stick also comes in three shades – Pearl Glow, Champagne, and Gold. I have Champagne (Radiant Glow) and have really been loving this product as much as the contour stick. This product is the perfect creamy and blendable highlighter stick that melts flawlessly onto the skin for a mistake proof application. You can use this product to create the perfect strobe or for a light and subtle highlight for everyday use. Like the Contour Stick, the Creamy Strobing Stick is also creamy and blends out to a powder like finish.
This product can be applied above the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, center of the forehead and below and above lips to add glow where desired. It’s also easily blended with your fingers. It doesn’t feel heavy or too creamy and I haven’t noticed any creasing. It’s perfect to use on it’s own or set with a powder highlight.
Each product offers a Net Wt. of 0.23 oz / 6.5 g so for the price point you get a lot of product to use and it’s easy to repurchase when it’s used up.
Jordana is one of my favorite drugstore cosmetic brands and I thought these would be something fun to use, but I didn’t realize I would like it as much as I did. I’m really impressed – especially because of the price point and how well they performed considering its cost.
Now let’s talk about the Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Colors. These retail for $4.99 and as I mentioned previously, I actually have a review on my blog with a few of the shades. The bright pink, coral and purple shade I got last year are definitely not my daily wearers so I had been on a hunt now for a while in hopes of finding more neutral tones at my local stores to add to my collection.
I found four gorgeous shades that are wearable every day tones in nude pinks and browns that I just love. So, while I did provide a review for you on these lippies initially last year, today I’m sharing swatches of these colors. If you are looking for wearable shades that are comfortable on the lips – I definitely suggest picking these babies up.
I picked up the following colors: Rose Macaron, Creme Brulee, Tiramisu and Cinnamon Toast. Cinnamon Toast a new color added to the line not too long ago, but the other three were a part of the collection, though I just couldn’t get my hands on them. I had been on the hunt for Creme Brulee for months now and I’m so glad I found it at Walgreens a few weeks ago.
I love these shades because they are not only wearable but these matte lipsticks are one of my most comfortable to wear. They are creamy when applied and while they dry down to a matte finish, I find that my lips do not feel overly dry. They are creamy and feel almost whipped like when applying to the lips and I just love their longevity. Jordana has a variety of colors from bold and red to nudes and pinks so you really get a lot of lip colors to choose from. They also have the same type of doe foot applicator that the others I reviewed have and I enjoy them.
Net wt. 0.11 oz / 3 g in each tube of lipstick
These colors stay on for hours – they claim it’s a 16 Hour Wear time and I can get at least 10 hours without any budging. They are infused with Vitamin A, made in the USA and are water resistant. What I love is that you get 12 gorgeous shades for any and all skin tones.
The video below is my original review of the Jordana Sweet Creme Matte Liquid Lipsticks, but I thought I would include it anyway. My thoughts haven’t changed at all with these lippies.
Honestly, I’m always impressed with Jordana products. There’s a reason why most of their products are a part of my collection – I enjoy them and like them. If you are someone like me that loves a no-fuss kind of makeup look, you’ll surely love how easy these products are to use. I definitely suggest checking them out if you haven’t already and see how they fit in your every day makeup routine.
You can purchase these products at: https://www.jordanacosmetics.com or at select drugstores that sell these products. I got mine at Walgreens.
So – what about you, have you tried any of these before? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them if you have or if not, do you think you’d get any use out of these beauties?
Disclaimer: I purchased these products with my own money. All opinions are my own, 100% honest & unbiased, as with anything found on this site. Affiliate links may be listed through out.
It’s that time of year when I start to pick up a few key items when it comes to makeup. The last few years I haven’t done much makeup shopping – to be honest, I’ve been doing really well with my spending. But, I tend to pick up a few items to try towards the first few months of a new year. About 3 weeks ago I found myself browsing through the aisles at my local Walmart – mainly because I was getting my oil changed and had nothing to do for an hour. I know, I know – bad idea. But, I found that it was actually a good time to check out the new cosmetic finds. Within the last couple of months, Wet n Wild released their Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balms and I had seen a bunch in stock at Walmart at about $2.99 a pop so I decided, hey – I want to try these and I picked them up. Today I’m going to be sharing with you my thoughts on the Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balms and we’ll see if they were a hit for me.
Wet n Wild claims that this is their 1st Gel lip balm that provides a natural looking, sheer gloss that glides on smoothly while delivering lasting moisture and a sheer, glossy color. I picked up a total of five shades, mainly because I really want to see the different range of colors and how they would work with my skin tone. In all honesty, I didn’t think these would pack much of a color.
These Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balms come in 7 different shades. Wet n Wild says that these are more glamorous than your regular lip balm, yet more natural looking than lipstick with it’s breakthrough color and gel formula.
“Your pout gets wrapped in luxury and kissed with a soft, barely there shade of glossy gorgeousness. You will never want to be without it.”
Now, for years I have been a fan of the Maybelline Baby Lips. This particular lip balm is ideal for me to take on the go and toss in my purse while offering my lips a smooth balm that is perfect for every day use. I had wondered if these Perfect Pout Lip Balms from Wet n Wild were similar. After applying the first color on my lips (while in the waiting area of Walmart because my lips didn’t have any balm and were feeling dry), I was immediately impressed with how easily this balm glided on. I didn’t have a mirror to look at the color so I had no idea what it looked like on. I went to the car when my oil change was complete and realized that I had a really pretty soft pink hue to my lips. I was impressed. Having used Maybelline Baby Lips for years and knowing that while they offered a tint of color – because my lips are darker than most, I don’t see the hue very often. I was very impressed with the color payoff of the Wet n Wild.
So, let’s get down to business… how are these lip balms? First, if I had to compare them to Maybelline Baby Lips, honestly – I don’t think I’d buy a Baby Lips again. I love the pigmentation on these lippies, they have nice color and perfect for my style. The fact that the tinted ones show up on my dark toned lips are a big deal for me. They allow me to put them on and run out the door looking put together. They glide on a lot easier than Baby Lips as well. There are times when some of my Baby Lips balms slightly tug on my lips when applying. I’m thinking that the gel formula may have some to do with the slip. If you are looking for a lip product with slip and that glides on – you’ll enjoy this one.
On my lips – Love
The Perfect Pout Balms feel good on the lips but you certainly have to reapply after eating and drinking. They are not really long lasting and longevity is basic – nothing to write home to mom about. But, I feel for the cost and the basic need of these, they work.
Left to Right – Kiss, Tease, Play, Love, Rule
With regard to moisturizing the lips – they definitely moisturize my lips and I haven’t noticed any drying or odd feeling after using all day. I have been enjoying these for every day use because I have a few colors to choose from and they are perfect for days I have no makeup or only mascara.
These lip balms feel very comfortable on the lips – lots of slip for someone like me who loves to pucker their lips often. The color does transfer onto anything your lips touch – including my husband’s lips but it still looks fairly natural so he wasn’t too bothered by it. These are very glossy on – so it looks like you have something on your lips for sure. I love how smooth it is and how smooth it leaves my lips. Formulated with Vitamin E, Avocado Oil and a proprietary Phytosterol complex – my lips are left feeling quite nice.

There is a huge con for these lippies however. Do NOT leave these in the car, especially if it is a hot day. I’m thinking due to the gel-like formula, they melt easier. I left mine in my purse and ran into the store to grab a bottle of water. I was only gone about 5 minutes and when I came back to the car – it was so soft it basically mushed some what. It wasn’t even a hot day – so I was disappointed to find how soft the product was after the short time. This is the type of balm you definitely don’t want to leave in your pocket because your body heat can melt or soften the product easily.
These lip balms are very lightly scented in my opinion – I could smell a hint of what I thought was a fruit like fragrance, but couldn’t quite figure it out and I didn’t find that they had any flavor – maybe it was just me. Overall – at the price point, (they are cheaper here in Hawaii than Maybelline Baby Lips) I think I may replace these in the future when I run out of them.
You can purchase these products where ever Wet n Wild products are sold – I have been seeing them at Walmart, Walgreens, Target and CVS here. They are also available online at Wetnwildbeauty.com
So what about you? Have you heard or tried these lip balms from Wet n Wild? Do you think these are worth checking out. If you do, definitely let me know in the comments below your thoughts.
Have a great day.
